Geography: Plateau City: Dragon Quarter
The Dragon Quarter is one of the most famous locations in the entire Wold. On a good day, over 100 adventuring groups can be seen hanging out in this area resting from their last adventure or preparing for the next one. The highlight of this area is Adventurer’s Square where adventurers are catered to in every way. Statues of current Dragon Consortium Groups fill the square, and stores by the dozen sell everything an adventurer might ever want or require.
The area is full of inns and taverns as well. Chief among these is the Red Wyrm Inn. Once the "must-visit" location for every adventurer in the Wold, its star has faded in recent years as the Giggling Ghost has grown in popularity. However, the Red Wyrm is still a venerable institution, and still contains the main entrance to The Maw, an untamable dungeon created by a mad archmage. Also of note is the Golden Goblin Inn, an establishment owned and operated by goblins.
The headquarters of the Woldian League of Adventurers is, of course, in the Dragon Quarter, located in the building that used to house Finlin Vod's Party House. (Rumors that Finlin was transformed into a donkey during the Fae King uprising are entirely unsubstantiated.) The Mailed Fist has a smaller headquarters, in the storefront that once housed Tuff Stuff for the Barbarian (the store went out of business once barbarians realized that regular gear was already sufficiently tuff).
The Gold Dragon Castle is on the western edge of the quarter. It faces Gladiator Park and the Golden Arena. The Gold Dragons are perhaps the most popular Dragon Consortium Group currently active and stories of this famed group are available for the asking at any tavern or inn.
The ultimate magic shop in The Wold is housed within a castle in Magic Square. It is called The Catacombs. It is franchised throughout the Woldverse and claims to be able to find any available existing magic item anywhere for the right amount of money and time. Managed by Gaston, this castle sized shop is another of the wonders of The Wold.
Across the street from the Catacombs is yet another of the Wonders of The Wold: Star Tower. This star shaped structure rises over 300’ into the air. It has 6 known floors filled to the brim with libraries, laboratories, and of course mages. This is the headquarters for the Plateau City Mages Guild. Membership is open to all mages able to meet their levels of competence.
