Unofficial Woldian Prestige Classes
Warning! None of these are approved for PC use. DMs may use them for NPCs -- but check with Jerry!
The Ursine Outrider - debated and revised, but never approved. Here are two versions: The original longer 10-level version and the later revised 5-level version.
The Stone Fist Fraternity and the associated Brother of the Stone Fist.
Thoughts on playing dragon-oriented classes
Ken E asks: If a character asks for permission to make a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer or a Dragon Disciple, do I as a DM have the ability to say yes and then inform you, or do I need to seek your permission before I can give a player the go ahead?
Jerry answers: The DM should dig into why the PC wants to take this class, etc. Then the DM should ask the player to email me to ask for permission. We treat Draconic Bloodlines, Dragon Disciple, Shapeshifter, etc. all the same.
Dragons are special. They are also very jealous of their status. If they EVER catch a whiff of a "mortal" being [and yes that's how Dragons view us] either with dragon blood in them or actually having the gall to become a dragon disciple or as a shapeshifter or druid, etc. turning into a dragon form, they will be.....angry. A Dragon Disciple can truly expect a True Dragon to come after him personally at some point in his career.
This is a high danger PC, similarly to playing a priest of the Gods of Testing. It is borderline allowable. I retain the right to refuse the PC if I feel that is warranted. So I give personal permission for any PC builds involving dragons.
It is part of the flavor of the Wold.
Oracle Mysteries & Devotion
These were the rules used for Woldian oracles when that class was allowed.
Oracles do not need to specifically honor a Woldian god or immortal power. Instead, each Oracular Mystery is linked with or tied to one of the Woldian Planes of Existence:
- Battle links to the Estates of Unrest, where many dead souls test themselves in constant warfare, hoping to prove worthy of another life.
- Bones links to the nightmare realm of Kosh Marr, where the undead are rulers.
- Flame links to the Elemental Plane of Fire.
- Heavens links to the Realm of Shadows, a plane of gloaming, of voids, and of cold, bright stars.
- Life links to Haven Far, where many dead souls go for healing and rejuvenation before passing into their next life.
- Lore links to the Valleys of Twilight and the Lands of Yore, where wise Queen Maab holds court.
- Nature links to the Wold's Cradle, home of the fey, a natural wonderland.
- Stone links to the Elemental Plane of Earth.
- Waves links to the Elemental Plane of Water.
- Wind links to the Elemental Plane of Air.
The following revelation is open to all oracles:
