Return to the Sargrass Plains
Well, that didn't go as expected.

DM Jeremy Battle Map
Friday November 20th, 2020 5:13:32 AM

OOC... There is an entrance to the Catacombs in the Palace, if anyone wishes to buy or sell anything. All purchases will be available immediately.

The feast is pleasurable for everyone, and everyone gets the opportunity to get to know the dignitaries fairly well. Nadea, the nereid, seems to find talking to Osul to be most pleasant. DC 10 Sense Motive check Highlight to display spoiler: { She is obviously attracted to the druid, and isn't very good at hiding it.} At Eberyon's request the Wardens stick around for a few days to get a chance enjoy the Wold's Cradle, even though Elyngael was ready to go home during the feast. After the short sabbatical the Wardens feel refreshed, and are all beginning to feel the desire to head home.

After saying a few words to Brightcrown, who just woke up after a brief 4 day hibernation, and bidding both her and Eberyon goodbye, Armand pulls out the sick that Longbranch had given the Wardens, and breaks the stick, over his knee, which produces a loud snap. Instantly, a multi-colored vortex appears, on the ground. It looks just like the one that brought everyone, but Atlas, to the Cradle in the first place. Entering the vortex, the Wardens are treated to the same kind of extreme slide ride as before. Like before, the ride lasts a few minutes, and then dumps them out in a different location.

Once exiting the vortex, you immediately realize something went wrong. While you were expecting to be returned to the Tree of Parting, or at least the edge of the Culverwood, where you opened the original vortex, instead you find yourself standing in grass over 20ft tall. Everyone, but perhaps Vamir, instantly realize that the vortex has taken them back to the Sargrass Plains!

When the time comes, he leaves through the vortex with the Wardens. On the other side, faced with grass as high as an elephant's eye, he gets his bearings, shifts into air elemental form, and gets a view from above it.

OOC... You should be at full HP, Eberyon would never allow his guests to be allowed to leave still nursing any injuries, and I doubt Armand would either.

No one seems pleased that they have found themselves in the Sargrass Plains verses the comfort of a warm fire at home, Though Atlas, in true Atlas form, seems indifferent to the location, and figures there must be a reason for the detour. Neshi wonders why they are in their current location, while everyone does their best to remain alert to danger. Osul wild-shapes into an air elemental and takes to the sky, as Owen casts fly, on himself, and joins the druid on the re-con mission. The two airborne heroes look around, and as to be expected, the grasses stretch as far as the eye can see, leaving no landmarks, or none that they would recall from their last visit anyway. The two are just about to give up on their search, when a soft gust of desert like wind picks up. The gust isn't big enough to cause them any flight issues, but it does cause the grasses to sway ever so slightly, just enough to reveal the outline of a settlement, of sorts, that can now be seen off in the distance and towards the north. The two are able to estimate that, on foot, the trip to the will take well over a day and a half, due to the difficult terrain, though Osul figures he could do it much quicker, and surmises that Elyngael could do like wise (woodland stride). By air, the two figure the group would arrive just before dark, and of course, by teleportation, they would be there much quicker yet.

'Osul gives Owen a thumbs-up and then drops back to the clearing and reverts to human form.

"There is a settlement a day and a half (maybe two) to the north, and I should be able to get nearly half of us a lot closer. If someone else can move the rest of us then that would be excellent. That said, I cannot see why we ended up here, or at least here and so far away from anything. If this was The Wood, I'd say we were needed here for a reason. Following that line of reasoning, maybe there is something much closer that we should be seeking? Also, did I hear someone say they were tucking the stones from Adlevar's chest away for safe keeping? I wouldn't mind testing one."

Atlas agrees a rapke wouldn't be much fun, but in hind sight, you're much more powerful then you were before, so maybe a rapke wouldn't be the end of the world? The fighter asks Elyngeal if she has kept everyone in line since his departure, and she answers by teasing the big human, then taking advantage of her woodland stride to stay out of his reach. Osul returns to share what he and Owen discovered, and the discussion on how to get there begins. The druid wonders if they should head to the settlement, or hang out for a bit. His reasoning is that the vortex brought them here for a reason, so why would that reason be so far from the drop off point? Neshi offers to teleport half of the crew, if Osul can give him a view of the settlement, and Osul says he can get the other half there via plants. Armand mentions the wind walk spell, but admits he didn't prepare it, and suggests hoofing it. Vamir offers to cast wind walk on everyone, but claims doing so would deplete his high level spells.

A huge sized air elemental should have no problem giving a large sized wemic a piggy-back ride, if Osul wishes to take Neshi up on his offer, but of course, the choice is yours as how you wish to proceed, assuming you choose to proceed.

Graham, like Robert said, Osul has had multiple good nights of rest, so all level 15 abilities, including spells, should be up and running. Of course you can role-play however you wish, but I want you to be able to take full advantage of your new level, if you so desire

Osul and Elyngael take the time to do a thorough search of the area and find nothing out of the ordinary. Armand examines the grasses themselves, and finds nothing out of the ordinary, well, other then the fact that you have 20-30ft tall grass growing in a place that never rains. Armand tries a magical search, and other than the multitude of magical bits the Wardens have on their persons, the spell doesn't reveal anything either. Elyngael asks about the size of the settlement, and even though they can't be sure due to the distance, Owen and Osul are pretty sure the place is pretty small. Elyngael also recommends that the group travel closer, and then send out some air re-con. Atlas is all for an expedited trip, but doesn't seem to mind what mode of transportation is used. He believes the answers for the detour may be found at the settlement. Vamir is ready to cast wind walk, as Neshi wonders, out loud, why they don't just teleport, as Osul has offered to cast airwalk, on the wemic, so he can get a view of the settlement.

What mode of transportation will our intrepid heroes use, will they wind walk, teleport, or use some other method all together? Tune in tomorrow to find out! Same grass time, same grass message board.

'Osul has all his level 15 abilities, but his new feat carries a -1 caster level penalty here (and in many other places), so rather than getting an Ioun stone for the bonus caster, he's seeking an Ioun stone to counter the penalty. It is relevant now as it might impact the number of people he can transport through the grass.

'Osul apologises to everyone, though at that moment he is speaking to Elyngael as they return from the search. "Thank you. I'm sorry that didn't turn anything up, but it's better than treking the better part of two days, only to be sent back here by the locals - whoever they may be. And since the episode at the party with Bryan, I'd rather get or provide a second opinion."

He asks Neshi if he has seen the settlement.

Atlas takes the ribbing in true Atlas fashion, even giving a retort of sorts. Owen offers invisibility to the big fighter if he wishes to take the stealth approach.

The formation of a plan is on its way, and nearing completion, the only thing left is to make a decision and engage. What will be the result? Inquiring minds want to know.

OCC...Since yesterday was a holiday, here in the states, and, as a result, we missed a few posts, I don't want to plow ahead until everyone has had a chance to chime in. Lets wait until Monday before anyone starts casting travel spells, in case someone who missed yesterday has something important to say.

Vamir, Elyngael, Armand, Atlas, and with them, Melzat and Brawn are ready to roll, they only await to hear from Neshi, Osul, and Owen for final preparation. In the mean while our heroes have a chance to double check their gear, and Osul, as well as anyone else who wishes to, has a chance to attune to one of the Ioun Stones from the party treasure. The temperature is surprisingly mild, for the Sargrass Plains anyway, hovering right around 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

As everyone makes final preparations and singles their readiness, Atlas wonders if this place might have an entrance to the catacombs, to which Osul answered that he didn't think so.

Vamir takes the time to connect to his matrons. At first he doesn't hear anything, but after a moment or two, he hears the sound of lip smacking. The sound starts out faint, and slowly gets louder. The sound is rather unnerving, but doesn't seem to come from a source of malice. Soon not only Vamir, but one by one everyone in the party begin to hear the lip smacking sound. Finally the lip-smacking sound ends and is replaced by a voice that says, rather harshly, "Why ask us, (lip smack) as if we know all (lip smack)?" Then the same voice says in a more dulcet tone, "Even we have our limitations (lip smack) after all." The harsh tone returns to say, "You are here, (lip smack) because you are meant to be here (lip smack)!", and then again the dulcet tone returns to say, "We know not what task it is that brought you here, (lip smack) or what task it is that you need to fulfill, (lip smack) but we do know that whatever the reason (lip smack) it stems from the gods themselves, (lip smack) and we aren't always privy to their thoughts (lip smack)" The dulcet voice adds, "You will find that the Sargrass Plains aren't the same as you knew them, (lip smack) they are much older then they were when you were here last. (lip smack) The Sargrass that you left the Wold to visit, (lip smack) aged before it returned, (lip smack) but we won't say more to that, (lip smack) as we don't know why such a thing has happened. (lip smack) It is enough that it did, (lip smack) and one should leave it at that. (lip smack)"

Before anyone can say or ask anything, the lip smacking sound returns, and slowly fades away. Vamir knows that the Wardens have just heard the voice of Lady Wisdom, one of the five crone. Everyone else can make a DC 25 knowledge religion to determine if they have the same knowledge.

Everyone is set to travel, all that is left is to cast the appropriate spells.

WIND WALK

Targets you and one touched creature per three levels

Duration 1 hour/level (D); see text

Saving Throw no and Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance no and yes (harmless)

You alter the substance of your body to a cloudlike vapor (as the gaseous form spell) and move through the air, possibly at great speed. You can take other creatures with you, each of which acts independently.

Normally, a wind walker flies at a speed of 10 feet with perfect maneuverability. If desired by the subject, a magical wind wafts a wind walker along at up to 600 feet per round (60 mph) with poor maneuverability. Wind walkers are not invisible but rather appear misty and translucent. If fully clothed in white, they are 80% likely to be mistaken for clouds, fog, vapors, or the like.

A wind walker can regain its physical form as desired and later resume the cloud form. Each change to and from vaporous form takes 5 rounds, which counts toward the duration of the spell (as does any time spent in physical form). As noted above, you can dismiss the spell, and you can even dismiss it for individual wind walkers and not others.

For the last minute of the spell's duration, a wind walker in cloud form automatically descends 60 feet per round (for a total of 600 feet), though it may descend faster if it wishes. This descent serves as a warning that the spell is about to end.

The voice of Lady Wisdom is disturbing to some and comforting to others, and the knowledge of an older Sargrass brings up some interesting thoughts. the two parties are ready to go, and Vamir and Neshi cast their respective spells to make the travel easy.

Neshi choose to teleport to a point just before the settlement, and Owen, Osul, Neshi, and Elyngael instantly find themselves surrounded by grasses, and only able to see each other by looking around the blades. The 4 heroes head north, with Elyngael and Osul being able to walk without any complications, as Neshi and Owen fight their way through the difficult terrain. As it is her norm, I assume Elyngael is in the lead, as the group of 4 reaches the edge of a clearing. Anyone who wishes to remain unseen must make a DC 21 stealth check. Looking through the grasses, the 4 heroes see that what they thought was a settlement, is in fact a small encampment of sorts comprised of some 20+ wigwams made of woven grass, surrounded by a 20ft wall that resembles a wattle wall, which is also made from woven grass.

For anyone who doesn't know what a wattle wall looks like, here's an example https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eDREOwYeZGYkS3IkMoGhp5Gaqll5PvtwhPhP2uCxlw4/edit?usp=sharing

Standing guard at the gate are two humans dressed in an odd armor that is made of hundreds of squares of some greenish iridescent material that resembles scale mail but looks decidedly different. They are holding weapons that resemble swords, only they are made of woven grass with what looks like shark teeth set along the edge to act as a cutting edge. A DC 17 knowledge nature informs you that they are in fact bulette teeth. They are also holding shields made from a large piece of the same greenish iridescent material.

The swords and armor, which is lameller armor, something your PCs have never seen, as it isn't found anywhere in the Wold, outside this people group, who are found only in the new Sargrass Plains, look something like this, only made from the before mentioned materials. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1o7FwGZKA1cXCLAmJ0JvJPp0AfALuAyAJPm4dQA7CI0A/edit?usp=sharing

Neshi and Owen decide invisibility is the key to non-detection, as Elyngael uses raw skill. Osul looks for a native bird to transform into, and the whole time the Wardens have been here, he has only seen one breed of bird. The bird he has seen has the body shape of a swallow, but the thing is the size of a crow, and it has no eyes. DC 30 knowledge nature (Any of the advanced team can make this check, and I will allow the aid another action) Highlight to display spoiler: {It's a prairie swallow, sometimes called a blind swallow. Even though it has no eyes, it uses its other senses, as well as a type of sonar similar to bats, to navigate, hunt for insects, and avoid predators. It is considered exceptionally tasty, and, when roasted, a delicacy here in the Sargrass, making it potentially dangerous to take this form. It is also, to the best of your knowledge, the only bird native to the Sargrass Plains.} Besides the bird, he has seen several small rodents similar to what he is used to, most notably something that very closely resembles a kangaroo rat, and in fact is a kangaroo rat.

Our windy walkers find themselves moving at a faster clip than expected, as a strong breeze seems to be blowing them due north, directly in the direction of the encampment. they should arrive in 4 rounds.

With his friend traveling undetected, does Osul turn himself into the blind bird, choose a different animal, or choose a different mode of non-detection all together? Tune in next time to find out.

Being his first time wind walking, Atlas wonders aloud, "Can anyone hear me? We seem to be catching up to this place fairly quickly. Will you un-wind us or is that something I have to do on my own? I think I should have asked these questions before we started. Am I just talking to the air or can someone actually hear me? Or am I just thinking right now and not really talking since I don't have an actual physical voice box? Ugh, all this thinking is ruining the scenery."

Osul, Neshi, and Elyngael don't seem to know much about prairie swallows, other then they have no eyes. Owen is able to identify the bird, along with some pertinent information, but, to maintain his cover, he doesn't share it. (I am going off the original stealth checks, so further checks are unneeded.) In the form of a prairie swallow, Osul finds he has enhanced senses, as well as a very limited sonar, that he surmises is used for hunting flying insects, and navigation. The enhanced senses add +10 to any perception check that doesn't require sight. BTW, yes they are tiny sized.

Osul, Neshi and Elyngael all hear the guards talking about random things, but one subject seems to continually come up, and that revolves around some strange attacks the encampment has been facing lately, whether or not the beetle caprice harvest was worth it, and whether or not they should break camp and find somewhere else to hunt the beetles, or maybe they might find a herd of bulettes. When prairie swallow Osul lands on the wall, the two guards look at each other, with a smile, as one of the guards says, "I wonder if Dharwyn sees that" and no sooner than those words were spoken, two arrow fly out of seemingly nowhere, coming from inside the encampment, and heading straight for the druid turned bird, hitting AC 26 for 16 damage. The guards see the arrows, and one chuckles as he says, "That answers that question! Looks like Dharwyn is having prairie swallow for dinner, lucky bastard!" After the shot is fired, Osul can make a DC 47 perception check Highlight to display spoiler: {You see a half-elf holding a bow hiding in the shadows behind a wigwam.}

The wind walkers will arrive in 3 rounds

OOC... Yesterday I said, in the knowledge nature spoiler: It is considered exceptionally tasty, and, when roasted a delicacy here in the Sargrass, making it potentially dangerous to take this form. Not sure why Owen didn't try to stop Osul from using that form, or no one else decided to try to make the check, but it makes for an interesting episode.

That hurts, though I suspect the second arrow wasn't neccesary to kill a prarie swallow. He doesn't know where the archer fired from specifically, but falling off and beyond the wall, gliding to the ground, maybe into cover (move action).
Rather then lay waste to the settlement and rick harming his friends, he tries to bulk up - casting Enlarge Animal on himself.

Neshi, Owen, and Elyngael try to remain unseen, as they creep closer. They watch a half-elf with a bow in hand, rush out of the gate. Osul reverts to human form, and gives a brief explanation for his actions, he questions Dharwyn's integrity to which one of the guards quickly replies, "Dharwyn was and is doing his job, as we are doing ours. Seeing something off, with you he went to scout for more possible threats, leaving you to us. Don't you dare question his heroics, his actions have saved our people from more than one enemy. Osul and those close at hand can tell that the guards are willing to fight to the death for their community, and that though they would be no match for the Wardens present, they aren't your average run of the mill guards either. when Osul mentions the attacks and his willingness to help, a look of uncertainty crosses their faces.

Neshi creeps withing striking distance of the guards, and seems to go undetected. Elyngael reveals herself and takes aim at the guards, as she gives warning. Both the guards seem a bit shaken by her words and actions. As Elyngael makes her move, she hears a masculine voice say, "If you let fly, she-elf, that will be your undoing!". Though she can tell approximately where the voice came from, she sees no one, and she is wise and experienced enough to no that anybody with Dharwyn's obvious experience, isn't going to be in that location anymore anyway. Osul notices the wind walkers arriving well before the guard's did, and continues to try to talk his way out of the mess they are in. He is beginning to believe that Dharwyn isn't a bad guy, just very protective of his people. Neshi lets it be known that as Elyngael is protecting Osul, he is protecting her. Elyngael assures Dharwyn that there is no danger, unless one of the guards does something stupid, and calls him out for not being willing to reveal himself. Owen reports the arrival of the wind walkers and reminds Elyngael of the wisdom of remaining unseen, as he himself is invisible. Dharwyn doesn't take Elyngael's bait, and says, "Your friend speaks wisdom, only a fool gives up their advantage without need." Again you hear the voice, but you are certain that Dharwyn isn't in that location anymore.

At this moment two things happen almost simultaneously. First, the Wind Walkers land in the clearing in front of the encampment, where the stand-off has been taking place, and second an alarm bell begins ringing at the far end of the encampment. "By the gods, now what! I have no more time to deal with you fools! If you are here to help, as you say, you may have a chance to prove it now!" Dharwyn shouts out, as the half-elf becomes visible. Turning to the guards he says, "Leave him we are under attack!" The archer then takes off running full speed into the camp. When they arrive, they can see that the inhabatints have set up two lines of defense, a shield wall, and a row of archers lead by Dharwyn, who you see flash in and out of visability, and his arrows seem to be doing far more damage than his fellow archers. They are fending off a group of 8 large sized hulking humionoids shaped beast who are hairless with grey and crimson skin. the creatures also have tiny bat-like wings protruding out their backs, wings that would never be able to lift such a beast. DC 23 knowledge Arcana Highlight to display spoiler: {They are red reavers }

With the shield wall protecting the archers, and holding the creatures at bay, the archers seem more than capable of withstanding, and overcoming this foe, in fact the tide quickly turns in the inhabitants favor, but that is when all heck breaks loose. Unbeknownst to the inhabitants, 6 more of these creatures have circled around, and right before your eyes burst through the wall in hopes of attacking the lightly armored archers flank. You can tell that Dharwyn and the archers are clueless to the new threat.

The map is now up.

Atlas runs forward to attack one of the creatures, but nearly misses cutting off his own leg, as he stumbles on a stone.

Armand casts Fire Storm, and only #1 makes his save for half

Osul casts Creeping Doom on 3, 4, 5, and 6. 3 is the only one who failed his save verses the poison, and took 1 dex damage, and they all took biting damage (I rolled them for you this round, but don't forget to roll the 1d4 dex damage for the poison and 4d6 for biting damage of each of the swarms)

He takes the full fire damage and is permanently under a confusion spell due to insanity. the insanity causes him to hit himself for 16 damage. 5 gets hit by a blue spray, but shakes off the flesh to stone affect. 6 gets hit by the orange spray and takes the full acid damage, which is enough to drop him.

Neshi drops a flame strike on 3, 4, and 5. All three take the full blast, which is enough to drop 3 and 4.

Owen and Neshi move to get better view of the other battle, and see that the natives, especially the archers are just finishing of the last of them. They can easily see that the fight is all but over, so they can save their spell. (Sorry, never thought to erase them as they fall. They were added to the map to help visualize the scene, and I completely forgot about them)

Atlas flies forward and cuts a chunk out of #2

Osul gives everyone a con boost, as his creepy crawlies do their thing, which is more then enough to drop #2, and lower #1's dex and HP some more.

Armand casts searing light and knocks some more of #1's life down. (I know you said #2, but I can't see Armand firing at a fallen enemy, when a living one is right before his eyes.)

Elyngael tries to finish off #1 but can't seem to hit the mark.

Neshi holds his spell and tries to catch up with Vamir,

Osul's swarm keeps doing what it does, though the creature is able to make it's poison save.

Armand channels energy hooking Melzat and Atlas up with some of Gargul's healing juice.

Vamir can't help but keep running (this should be the last rounds), as Melzat nurses his wounds.

Frustrated with last round's proceedings, Elyngael lets fly again, and manages to drop the beastie.

Owen checks for more enemies, but doesn't see any, and is pretty sure this is the lot of them.

Atlas is begrudgingly prepared to make the killing blow, but the creature falls, by Elyngael's arrows, at his feet.

Closer inspection, and you notice that even the grasses, that have been swaying in the breeze, have frozen mid sway. Then everything starts to swirl a colorful mixture of red, green silver and gold, and in an instant you are no longer in the Sargrass Plains, but in a place you've all been before. You find yourselves on a familiar snowy path surrounded by evergreen trees. It is nighttime here, but the path is illuminated by everburning torches placed at equal intervals to offer a pleasant walking experience, and even though the ground is snow covered, you don't find yourselves cold in anyway, in fact you find it a pleasant exchange for the heat of the plains. A few of the Wardens are able to identify the red reavers, and Armand correctly mentions that they are normally only aggressive when protecting their territory, They are also able to identify them as a desert creature, which may or may not mean they are out of their element in the Sargrass. As for the current location, a few grumble a bit about the fact that they were teleported against their will again, and some prepare for the cold, but like I already mentioned, even though it is wintery landscape, you don't feel any coldness at all, in fact, whether by some magic, or just the natural essence of the place, you find the temps very comfortable. A few begin to recognize the place, remembering that at about this time last year, you found yourselves here, pulled out of fire mountain. You are currently standing on a path illuminated by everburning torches leading north. behind you is nothing but evergreen forest and darkness.

You travel north, as, other than risk getting all scraped up by the thick evergreens, that is really your only option, Well I suppose you could just stay where you are, but I've never known the Wardens to sit on their laurels. In less then 10 min of walking, you begin to see a warm glow ahead, and few minutes later, you turn a corner in the path, and there stands a ginormous table heavily laden with all imaginable delicacies, both sweet and savory, as well as flagons of various wines, and tapped kegs of ale. The area is illuminated by hundreds of candles, and standing at the head of the table is what appears to be an elderly human, though he seems to have the vigor of one a fraction of his apparent age. The man is wearing a red coat, trimmed with white fur, that goes down to his ankles. On his head he is wearing what appears to be a wreath made of holly. The man is smoking a long stem pipe, filled with an aromatic tobacco, and the smoke he blows out hangs in the air above his head making all sorts of magical shapes. Tin soldiers marching, a dragon soaring, a ship sailing, to name a few. Everyone but Osul immediately recognizes him as Nicholas, and even Osul realizes your not in the Wold anymore.

Nicholas sees you arrive, puts down his pipe, and says "Welcome Wardens of the Tree! Welcome to this yuletide feast! The rest of the guests should be arriving soon." Sure enough people you recognize begin walking into the clearing. Isabel and Simon are first, with Wiz-Bang riding on Simon's shoulder, followed by Warden's past, as well as dear friends from the Tree. Finally a few people arrive that most wouldn't recognize, but individual Wardens recognize them as people from their past, and in some cases, people who have gone to Gargul, for their eternal rest.

OOC... instead of going through everyone’s backstory sheets, I left the past loved ones generic, so you can RP it as you wish.

Owen picks up Simon and whirls him around in a circle. "Simon! Isabel! How wonderful to find you here! And look who else is back: Atlas!"

Simon is delighted to see Atlas, but a little hesitant around the fighter he hasn't seen in a while.

Atlas is happier than he has been in a long time. After Owen sets Simon down he can sense his hesitation, so he bends down to whisper something in his ear, then scoops him up and puts him on his shoulders. He gives a wink to Isabel, a quiet, "Thank you Owen", and then begins the ride. "So Simon, I hear there are beasts that can only be seen if you are tall enough. I'm a smidge too short, but with you up there I'm sure we can find them. They float high in the air, are beautiful, and if you see one they will grant you a wish. Keep your eyes peeled as we take a tour of this wonderful place."

As Atlas passes Armand he suggests a festive drink, "Armand, I'm not sure if you can handle what I would drink, but I'm sure a Salted Caramel White Aisildurian would fit the bill. Otherwise I would love the scent of some mulled wine. Whatever you get, grab two. I'll be back after Simon and I finish our fun."

After he gets a few paces away he turns back to Armand, "Make that three, I'm thirsty." And with a good belly laugh he and Simon continue on their way.

Mingles well, mingles well...

DM Jeremy Battle Map

Neshi and Vamir have meetings with lost loved ones and I'll be honest, your soft hearted DM (or is that minded?) felt a bit touched. Elyngael continues to enjoy her time with her parents, as Osul continues to mingle. Owen enjoys some quality time with his family, But Armand feels he needs a drink after his encounter with his fathers ghost. The cleric turns to their resident expert on alcohol consumption, Atlas for advice. Atlas gives some ideas, and gives Simon a shoulder ride around the table. Nicholas can't help but give a good "Ho, ho, ho!" at the sight of the child riding on the large humans shoulders. He reaches into a pocket hidden inside his coat and pulls out a sword and shield sized just for Simon, hands them to the lad and says "Merry Yuletide, young man, when he gets back home, you'll have to ask Atlas to teach you how to use these."

OOC... Please feel free to post as you will, during the slowdown. I'll be checking in "hopefully" daily to see if any DM responses are needed, though I probably won't be posting unless promoted to. Of course during the slowdown posting is completely optional, so don't feel as though you are under any obligation. When we resume in full force January 4th, James will be jumping into the DMs chair, and I'm looking forward to seeing his style of DMing.
I hope you all have a very happy holidays!!!!

Isabel's eyes get a little wide when Nicholas hands Simon a sword, but she eventually relaxes, see that all the Wardens are there to keep him safe.
