Atlas starts kicking down doors, starting with the first one. It's not really clear if what he finds is what he wants to find. It looks like a fairly plain storage area. The same in the next room.

Armand isn't going to wait for the rest of the party. He chooses not to linger and opens the door to the north, triggering a trap in the process. (Armand takes 11pts fire damage. Ref Save vs DC15 for half).
Inside looks to be Otaktay's private quarters. The room is furnished with a fairly elaborate medium sized bed, a 10ft square pillow that his companion would have used as a bed, a worn carpet on the floor, and a chest by the foot of the bed.

The party start a methodical search of the lair. No other living creatures are found. Specifically: no Otaktay.
The party regroup with Armand in the throne room. There are dead monkey bodies around the room, as well as that of a tiger.
It seems to be a miracle that half the party aren't meeting with Gargul after all of that fighting. How did you manage to survive all of those waves? Well, equal parts luck and skill. Probably leaning more towards the 'skill' side of things.
The day isn't over yet though.

Elyngael looks wildly around her and at each of her companions. "I refuse to accept this! I must avenge Khan. I will chase Otaktay to the ends of the earth!" Elyngael is distraught, then glances at the still body of Khan. Elyngael falls to her knees in front of Khan and gently strokes his fur. "He must be laid to rest as a hero and remembered as a dear faithful companion. Yes, Neshi, I will see to the preparations," she murmurs and starts to hum an elven lament.

Atlas kicks another door down just to take out his frustrations. Seeing El so distraught tears at his heart, and delaying he search for Otaktay just doesn't taste right. However, putting his emotions to the side for a moment, he sees the logic in it. "He cannot travel far, he's in worse shape than us. Can we scry tonight and then again in the morning, or is this a one time thing?"
With that, Atlas does his best to start making a defensive position of the rooms they have chosen so that they can be safe tonight.

Neshi is able to find some blood samples, and surmises that Otaktay must have left them in the split second he was in chimpanzee form before transforming into an earth elemental, as elementals don't bleed in the normal sense. Elyngael's anger finally subsides as she sees the wisdom in Neshi's words, and begins preparing Khan's body for transport. As everyone else decides to head to the lab, and possibly Otaktay's sleeping chambers for some fur samples, and the antidote, you hear the distinct sound of glasses clinking together, and Wiz-Bang's high pitched voice casting the spark orision. As the Wardens rush to the lab, they see the diminutive Wiz-Bang jumping around like, well, a tarsier. He appears to be deep in concentration, with beakers over flames and a sizable book opened to a page that is titled simply: "The Antidote" with the sub title reading: "In case the humanoids leave the Tree. He looks over to the Wardens as they enter the lab and says, "Wiz-Bang found way to fix Tree" he then goes back to his work, so deep in concentration, that he doesn't even seem to notice that the Wardens are still present.

Armand looks around and determines that it's time to do some curing. He will burn flame strike for Cure Light Wound Mass. Everyone is healed 14 hit points. He will burn Freedom of Movement for Cure Critical on Atlas. Atlas is cured 34 hit points. He will burn Searing Light for Cure serious on Atlas. Atlas is cured 22 hit points.
"I think that should get all of us close enough that a night's rest will allow us to recover the rest. Then in the morning we can take whatever next step is needed."
He will then take 20 to search Otaktay's quarters, which will get him a 24. "I'm not sure what I'm looking for and I'm generally not very good at this, so anyone that wants to help is welcome."

I will carry Khan's ashes to vengeance first, then second home. I can think no further than that."

Armand takes the time to heal everyone up.
Owen casts scrying on the fleeing chimpanzee/earth elemental, Otaktay fails his Will save, and Owen is able to clearly see an earth elemental swimming underground, He appears to be heading at full speed, roughly in the direction of the Scab.
Elyngael wishes to cremate Khan's remains, and eventually sprinkle his ashes around the base of the Tree, Her desire for revenge is understandably strong. One might wonder if Otaktay feels the same way about the loss of his tiger, stronghold, and army.
Neshi offers to assist in the cremation.
Since the casting for scrying is one hour, we can assume an hour has past. In the time it has taken Owen to cast his spell, Wiz-Bang has been busy. His wee body is all over the table 1st reading from the book, then checking a beaker, then scampering over to a retrieve the needed ingredients, then adding said ingredients. It would be enough to make you dizzy if you watched him for too long. Finally, around the same time that Owen ascertains Otaktay's position, he takes two beakers that had been simmering and carefully blends the two, and then sets the mixture back on the fire to simmer. Wiz-Bang then turns to the Wardens and says "Wiz-Bang done, good water need to cook more though". He then jumps off the table and heads over to Otaktay's private room, saying, "Otaktay not let Wiz-Bang in here, Wiz-Bang curious". As the tarsier enters the room and looks around a bit then comes back and says, "Big Box to heavy for Wiz-Bang
OCC... I am awarding Elyngael a hero point for some steller role playing in the loss of Khan.

In either case, Elyngael, I think we'll need to sleep before we take down Otaktay: while he's traveling I can't get a good enough lock on his location to teleport us there safely, and most of us need to regain spells."

As Atlas and Armand attack the chest's lock they trigger a fire trap spell taking 14 fire damage (DC 15 reflex save for half). Once opened, they find enough gold for everyone to receive 2000gp each, and a pair of Winged Boots.
Owen suggest splitting the party, with half going after Otaktay, and the other half taking the antidote back to the Tree using teleport spells to quicken the process. He also wisely suggests resting to regain spells and such, not to mention avoiding becoming fatigued.
Atlas tries to give comfort to the grief stricken Elyngael.
Armand agrees that rest is prudent.
Elyngael suggests doing the cremation in the current location, claiming that the retrieving of the ashes is an honor for her alone. She then declares the desire to go after Otaktay by herself.
Neshi announces he has a teleport spell left in him, but needs rest before his is capable of casting any serious offensive spells. He then casts flaming sphere on Khan's remains.
As the body is being consumed in the conflagration, all present witness a a strange sight. Khan's spirit visibly leaves his body and walks over to Elyngael as if requesting to be petted by his former master one last time. He then looks up and, even more surprisingly speaks in perfect elven saying, "Grieve for me as you must, but don't throw away yourself in the process. Avenge me if you must, but don't forget that revenge is often a dish best served cold. It was my honor to serve you, and my dearest desire is for you to find your joy again". and with those final words, Khans spirit vanishes.

Atlas realizes that his jaw is hanging open, then closes it. "That was unexpected. He's right though. Our duty is to the living, and that includes the Tree. Let's collect all the hair or blood that we can, put it in a safe pouch or something, then chase after him once we heal the Tree. Call it revenge or call it protecting the Wold, but either way Otaktay will die."
After scooping up his gold he holds the boots up, "Anyone want these, or should I throw them in party treasure?" Then he steps up to Neshi. "I'm ready when the rest are."

Armand fails to save against the fire trap. "I guess I should have seen that coming."
He is in awe of what happened with Khan's spirit. "Truly we have witnessed something grand today."
He pauses and then addresses Elyngael. "Elyngael, I know you wish to seek vengeance yourself, but we are stronger as a group. Khan has been a member of our party as much as you have. Stay with us and we shall aid you in your vengeance. But to rush off now in the heat of your emotions, well, they say Revenge is a dish best served cold."
He then turns to the group. "If Otaktay is headed for the Sab then we might have some other allies in the area. Eclyndryl ne Lidely of House Dul'g is leading a Drow community over there. The Tree has a trade agreement with them. Maybe he's headed that way thinking he can find some allies against us. Maybe we'll find a use for that Drow Dagger Owen's been hanging onto."
He looks around some more. "Not sure I like the idea of leaving this stronghold somewhat intact behind us. Wish there was a way we could burn it down or something. But we need to rest first and foremost."

Elyngael slowly looks at each of her companions, "And, I feel blessed to have each of you supporting me. I may not be a sunny friend for awhile, but I will be at your side. You can count on me to do what is best for the Tree. Right now, it seems like we need to rest before fighting the good fight," she attempts a weak smile for her friends, then finishes putting Khan's precious ashes into a soft deer hide pouch.

Atlas is a bit awe struck by Khan's spirit (Who wouldn't be), and shares his agreement , that saving the Tree needs to come first, but not forgetting to mention the need to eventually end Otaktay. He takes his share of the gold coins and, one would assume, gives the others their share, then offers up the winged boots to the party. He also suggest gathering as much of Otaktay's hair as possible, to be used latter, he discovers that the bed although kept relatively clean, does contain enough hair for at least one maybe two more scrying spells.
Owen gets out his scroll of teleportation in preparation for returning home, when Wiz-Bang is finished with the antidote.
Armand is also awed by Khan's spirit, and shares that the rest of the Wardens considered Khan to be one of them, and they feel the loss too, and asks Elyngael to stay with them using Khan's words "Revenge is a dish best served cold". He speculates that maybe Otaktay is looking for allies in the Scab, and suggests that could be his undoing, and laments the idea of leaving the stronghold standing.
Elyngael feels double blessed, First by the gift of Khan's spirit, and equally by the support of her comrades/friends. She warns her friends that she may not be "Little Miss Sunshine" for a while, but she will stay by her friends side. She also takes the time to gather up Khan's ashes, and I assume store away any valuables he wore.
Neshi is just relieved that they are going to rest before taking the next step.

Wiz-Bang climbs back up on the table and begins to closely watch the beaker on the fire. after a moment or two the contents turn from a dark forest green, to bright red. He then quickly removes the potion from the fire and pours the contents into a sealable vial and corks said vial. Then turning to the Wardens, he offers them the antidote, and says, "Wiz-Band done! This fix Tree", then under his breath he says, "Wiz-Bang hope"

Armand casts Detect Magic and walks around the fortress checking on the monkey corpses.

Once the group is ready, Owen uses his Teleport scroll to take as many as he can back to the Tree.

She misses Khan's presence and reassuringly pats the pouch and talks to his ashes, "You will go home home to the Tree soon." Looking around she hopes no one has overheard her talking to a dead spirit and realizes that she must pray to Domi for guidance.

Neshi believes taking the book home with them is a wise idea, and Armand agrees.
Owen thanks Wiz-Bang for his help, and asks if he is ready to go home. He then suggests that maybe Wiz-Bang could stay and rule the stronghold.
Despite how badly Elyngael misses Khan, she is ready to go home. she realizes that she should spend some time seeking Domi's guidance.
Atlas stores the antidote safely away in his bag of holding, and asks Wiz-Bang if he is ready to go home.
---------------------------------------------------- All the preparations are done, and both Neshi and Owen are ready to teleport the party home, but before they do two things happen. First, Wiz-Bang communes with the Culverwood, (his deity) asking for safe passage while teleporting. after the spell/prayer is complete, he says, "The Wood say he no stop Wardens from spell traveling" and second, at the mention of Wiz-Bang possibly staying at the stronghold, as well as going home, his head drops as though he was either deep in thought, or sad. when he looks up, you see tears in his eyes, and Wiz-Bang says, "Wiz-Bang not know where home is. Is Wiz-Bang home here, is Wiz-Bang home at top of Tree, or is Wiz-Bang home some place else. Wiz-Bang love Wardens, and Wiz-Bang want to stay near Wardens, But Wiz-Bang not know what Wiz-Bang should do".

You are a valuable member of this group in more ways than one, but you are just one being and cannot be everywhere. The decision is yours, but I sure would miss you if you had to stay here."

Armand hands the items he found to Atlas. "Here, put these in the bag and we can log more items to party treasure. We may want to split the gold now to share the load." Armand pauses to do his sums. "I think that comes to 6,400 gold each."
He listens to Wiz-Bang. "So if you communed with the forest Wiz-Bang, did you get the impression it was inviting you to stay or was it more of a 'there's the door I won't block it from shutting', kind of message?"
"You're welcome to stay at the Tree until you can decide of course."
Armand nods to Owen and Neshi, "I guess when-ever we're ready. I think there may be a time factor in getting the antidote back to the Tree."

Armand shares out the coins, and asks Atlas to add the rest to the party treasure,
All the Wardens are quick to assure the wee Greenmage that he will always be welcome at the Tree, even offering him a place at their domicile. They are quick to point out that the choice is completely his to make with various bits of wisdom added by the different Wardens. Armand even asked if the Culverwood gave an impression as to what he should do.
Wiz-Bang stares at the ground for a brief moment, obviously deep in contemplation, finally he shakes his head in the affirmative, more to himself then anyone else, as though he made his choice, and then he scampers over and climbs up Neshi. Sitting on his shoulder, he says, "Wiz-Bang do not think Woods care where Wiz-Bang call home, So Wiz-Bang live with Wiz-Bang's friends!"
Neshi and Owen both cast their spells, and the Wardens plus Wiz-Bang find themselves at the base of the Tree. The stench of decay is even stronger then you remember, and most all of the Tree's leaves have withered. the whole community is standing around with looks of fear and sadness, as their living home is about to die. The people's moral only improves slightly with the sudden arrival of the Wardens.

Elyngael is appalled at the state of the Tree. "Please everyone move back and allow room for Atlas and Wiz-Bang to work. We are all concerned, but the Wardens have brought hope. Say prayers to your gods and hope that we have brought the cure." Elyngael walks around and gives gentle reassurances to the community.

Atlas retrieves the antidote from his bag of holding and asks how it should be administered.
Elyngael goes into crowd control mode, and asks that the people pray that the antidote works.
Armand suggests pouring it on the roots, Wiz-Bang shakes his little head and says, "Book say sprinkle on roots".
Owen tries to bring humor to a dire situation, (Laughter is the best medicine after all)
When Wiz-Bang and Atlas sprinkle the antidote out on the roots, for a moment nothing happens. Then the miraculous happens. Starting from the base of the Tree, over a 1 min time span, slowly working it's way to the peak, the tree shudders, Where the area of shuddering has past, in it's wake is left behind health looking bark, and vibrant leaves. The smell of fever and decay is completely gone, and the tree even goes into bloom producing flowers the size of dinner plates, in a vast array of colors, leaving the air filled with the scents of lilacs and roses.
As the good people of the Tree marvel at the site two men step forward. the first you recognize as Fredorian, and the second is an elf who doesn't look familiar at all. Fredorian congratulates you all for a job well done, then he reaches into his pouch and pulls out 5 huge rubies (DC 15 appraise values them at 1000gp each) and he offers one to each of the remaining Wardens saying, "My father wasn't a good man, but he was still my father, and this place was precious to him, and in the time I have been hear, I have come to understand why. Please take this token of my appreciation, and may this be the start of a lasting friendship!"

Armand accepts the ruby and looks at Fredorian. "Well you know what they say Fredorian, you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family." Armand breaks into a grin and offers his hand to Fredorian.
The Wardens still look slightly worn and torn. Armand addresses the crowd. "Good people, I believe our worries may be over. However, that does not mean we should not be vigilant. For while we managed to storm Otaktay's Stronghold and for the most part neuter him, I'm afraid he managed to get away in the end. We are still near exhausted from that battle and beg your forgiveness as we are in need of a good night's rest." He pauses and reflects briefly on the loss of Khan and 'Osul, though 'Osul's departure may not be permanent. "Please return to your homes and allow us to do the same."
Armand then turns and takes the lift up to the Warden's headquarters. He shakes his head wondering how Mack is doing, or Carver, or Boerdir. He tries to avoid becoming melancholy as he stands in front of their abode.

Vamir walks away from Fredorian and lays his hand on the tree, and whispers as if speaking to the tree. (Speak with Plants and Knowledge Nature 27) The young elf then turns towards the group and slightly bows to the group. "I have heard whispers as I traveled of a sick tree that needed help. I have been told by the plants I was needed here, I see that was not true, you folks were more than capable of healing this majestic tree, and she is healthy again, or so she claims." Vamir pats the trunk lovingly and then looks at the group awkwardly, "I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself first that was rude. I am Vamir Herven, and I am in your debt."
Vamir stands at 5 foot 7 inches and weighs 105 pounds. Vamir has silver hair that flows away from his face, and down his back where it is kept in place by a sculpted tree limb. Vamir has piercing emerald green eyes that would keep your attention if it were not for the white scar that runs from his left temple, under his nose, across his lips, and ends on the right side of his chin. Vamir is of average built and has a little paunch because he does enjoy a good meal.

Neshi watches in awe as the tree is healed and then tenses slightly as Fredorian approaches but then relaxes as he speaks accepting the gem he looks the young man straight in the eyes.
"It is a wise man that realizes that relatives can be farther from family than some strangers." I for one hold no grudge with you and hold you as an ally. I thank you fr the gem, but it is unnecessary and I would ask that you use it to benefit some of those killed by the Apes that attacked."

Elyngael looks at the miraculous healing to the Tree and rejoices. "All is not lost when there is life from death. Noble Tree your restored beauty is a most welcome sight!" Elyngael dips her head and bows deeply at the waist before the Tree. Looking up again, she sees a stranger in their midst who appears to be elvish. "Sir, I was so enraptured by our Tree's recovery I failed to introduce myself. I am Elyngael Noldoryn", she pushes pack the hood of her forest green cape to reveal slightly pointed ears peeking out from her long chestnut braided hair. Her slender build, tawny skin and moss green eyes, are usually only hinted at by her light-footed step because of the generous cloak enveloping her. Elyngael speaks to him in Elvish rather than in Common.

Owen looks upward in wonder as the Tree swiftly recovers. It never fails to surprise him.
As Vamir and Fredorian begin to speak, he forces himself to look away from the Tree. "It's good to meet you, Vamir. The more people we have around to care for the Tree the better. I once came here to study the Tree, so I'm glad to meet a fellow-traveler of sorts. Would you care to dine with us tonight? We can't stay up too late, unfortunately; we have to track down an ape druid tomorrow morning."

Everyone excepts Fredorian and his gift graciously, except Neshi who, though thankful, asks him to use it to help those harmed in the ape attack. Fredorian is taken back for a moment, then a genuine smile crosses his face, and he says, "You have a heart as large as your body good liontaur. Fear not, a fund was already started to help those suffering, and the good people of the Tree have been most generous. if you wish this gem to be added to the fund, I would happily do so in your honor!"
Armand addresses the good people of the Tree asking for a little space so they can recover. He then heads home.
Everyone seems transfixed on the marvel that they all witnessed, until the unknown elf steps up to the tree and communes with it for a moment, then turns to the remaining Wardens introduces himself, and claims the Tree is doing well, and is thankful for the actions of the Wardens. Wiz-Bang runs up to the newcomer, looks up at him and with a look of admiration, asks, "You Greenmage like Wiz-Bang?" Elyngael and Owen make introductions, and Owen invites Vamir to dine with them.
I've lost track of time in game so let's say it's around 4 in the afternoon,
OoC... Feel free to take as much time as needed to do the things your characters need to get done, the new module is almost done and assuming it gets a speedy approval, we should be able to start that sometime next week, In the mean time take the time to let your characters get to know Vamir, do some shopping, find a new companion, do research, craft scrolls/potions, ECT...

Vamir bows his head slightly to Elyngael and responds in elvish, "Please excuse my accent, I learned to speak elvish from my human parents. I am Vamir Herzen." Vamir looks around and smiles sheepishly, "I haven't been keeping track of where I am in my wanderings. Can you tell me where I am?"
Vamir then looks over at Owen, "It should be I who offer you dinner, and a toast. You have returned life to this magnificent specimen of a tree! The damage she sustained would not have been recoverable had it not been for you and your companions!" Vamir extends his hand, "I will accept your generous invitation, if you are still offering." Vamir looks up in the branches of the tree, and asks, "What should I bring, and where do we dine?"
Vamir looks over at Wiz-bang, "I am a Greenmage, although still very much on the beginning of my path. I was looking for the circle of my mentor when the plants I spoke with told me I should come here, and in a hurry so I did. Are you a Greenmage?"

Owen spots Isabel and Simon in the crowd and hastens to see them. He sweeps Isabel off her feet, saying "Isn't it wonderful! The Tree is cured!" He turns to Simon and says "Wait until I tell you about the fortress we found in the Culverwood."

Watching the Tree return to health brought tears to Atlas' eyes. He is still wiping them away when Vamir approached. "I like Owen's idea. James will be happy to see us home for a nice meal and we're exhausted. However, good company is always welcome to our home."
Atlas stiffens when Fredorian approaches, but he does his best to hide it (1d20+2=11). "Thank you Fredorian. You continue to impress me with your kindness." Atlas shakes the man's hand, but later at dinner with the others he goes on about how he cannot trust this man. "He's trying too hard. He clearly has a plan, just like his father always did. He will stab us in the back one day, mark my words." Then, after a moment of thinking, "We should have those rubies exchanged for coin. They might be marked for scrying, tracking, eavesdropping, or something. James, can you please get this converted for me tomorrow?" He tosses the ruby to James.
As they wrap up dinner, getting to know Vamir along the way, Atlas brings the group back to reality. "We still have to get Otaktay. I don't think we should wait."

She gracefully stands and excuses herself from the table."Good friends, I will be leaving you for a day to meditate and seek comfort in the peace of Nature. Please do not worry about me or come looking for me. I will be fine as this is now my home." Elyngael looks around the full table and takes her leave. Unknown to them, (except maybe Armand) she does not intend to return until Domi has graced her with another companion.

Neshi spends some time working on his Cloak of Resistance
Vamir apologizes for his rough elven claiming he was taught by human parents. he gladly excepts Owen's invite for dinner, and let's Wiz-Bang that he is a budding Greenmage and asks the awakened tarsier if he is a Greenmage as well to which Wiz-Bang response, "Wiz-Bang Greenmage, but no worry, Wiz-Bang not very powerful"
Owen re-extends the dinner invite, this time in elven, and then goes to spen some quality time with his family.
Atlas is moved to tears by the Tree's recovery, but he still can't bring himself to trust Fredorian, and he desires to go after Otaktay right away.
Armand suggest patience, but makes it clear that justice is foremost on his mind.
After dinner, when everyone is still chatting and getting to know one another better, Elyngael stands up and gracefully makes her exit claiming she needs to spend some time in solitude, she doesn't say anything but she is determined to return only after Domi blesses her with a new companion.
OOC... The new module has just been approved, but I would like to give you all a chance to do some role playing with Wade joining the group, and Elyngael gaining and getting to know her new companion. (not to mention trips to the catacombs) so let's shoot for starting the module on Wednesday, If things seem to slow down, or seem to need more time, I will definitely adjust accordingly. All catacomb purchases can be assumed to have arrived before the new module.

Vamir listens to the stories told by Atlas, and ate more than he should. The last few weeks on the road, eating hard tack, and field rations made this a welcome feast. Vamir looks at Atlas' as he cuts to the chase and shrugs his shoulders. "I do not know if I am cut out to be an adventurer. I am confident in my abilities as a Bloodwitch, and my emerging Greenmage skills, but I have never sought out the light of a hero. " Vamir takes a long drink of water, and pauses for a few seconds. "I always thought I would end up casting fortunes, and making potions like my mother, and father. Their deaths, and Gornin's arrival changed all of that."
Vamir turns to Yurr'Neshi, and shrugs his shoulders, "Let me tell you of me, and you may have a better understanding of who I am.
I was born the son of elvish outcasts, who settled in the forests near Tower of Boydos. My father was Aiwin and his mother was Solana, of them I know next to nothing they were murdered by bandits when I was still a baby. I was found outside the window of smoldering ruins, wrapped in a blanket by Brulcek, my adoptive father. After burying the bodies of my birth parents Brulcek brought me home to his wife, Illi. They had no natural children of their own and happily raised me as their own. My father was an accomplished herbalist and potion maker. My mother was a Bloodwitch who honored Queen Maab, and helped those who passed by with her spells and scrying.
My parents taught me about those things they loved. Father taught me about herbs, how to find them and when to harvest. He taught me the importance of using the freshest ingredients to make the absolute most potent potions. As I grew into my twenties I began to learn from his mother the skills, and spells of a Bloodwitch. My mother also taught me how a Bloodwitch draws their abilities from an Immortal Power, and when she felt he was ready and willing she explained her pact with Queen Maab.
One evening, just after my 55th birthday, after spending several days in the deepest parts of the forest, and darkest caves harvesting herbs for his father. I returned home to find a group of bandits destroying our home, laughing as they carried out the family belongings, like his mothers cauldron, and his fathers potions. Anger welled up in my throat, and he charged into the clearing, casting spells, and swinging his staff. This caught the bandits off guard and I in my rage managed to lay out two of the bandits before a falchion swept across my face, knocking me prone. Just as the next blow were to descend I heard the roar of a bear, and passed out before the falchion made contact.
When I woke the two bandits I felled were laying in the yard, and a slender male elf, was tending a fire. I attempted to stand a rough, and a calloused hand pushed me back to a sitting position," Vamir paused to look at the group, and took a long drink of water, "I will never forget the first words Gornin spoke to me, My name is Gornin, Druid of the Forest, and Greenmage. I didn’t save you and spend my healing spells to have to you get hurt again. I was able to heal most of your wounds but your gonna have a heck of a scar on your face for the rest of your life.” Vamir chuckled, "he had a rough but honest way about him. Gornin explained he was passing through the area when he heard my scream of rage, and he charged only to see a Half-orc about to kill me. Gornin shapechanged into a dire bear and charged directly into the clearing scattering the remaining bandits. The next day Gornin helped me bury my parents, and asked me where my people where. I told the story of how I came to be here and he offered to allow me to travel with him to his hut in the Culverwood if I so wanted. After collecting a few things, like his mother’s cauldron, and his father’s sickle, and leather potion bag he set the house on fire and walked behind Gorin.
Gornin spent the next several years teaching Vamir about his elvish heritage. Gornin would watch as Vamir cultivated herbs, and brewed potions in his cauldron, and became impressed with the elf’s knowledge and abilities. One evening Gornin tended to the fire, and looked over at Vamir. “You are accomplished, a strong Bloodwitch, and a capable potion maker. You could easily move to a city and make a fortune selling potions, and scrolls, but I sense there is so much more in you.
It was Gornin who saw what I had in me, and it was Gornin who was my mentor as a Greenmage. It was Gornin who taught me what I know until the afternoon the old druid collapsed. I ran to Gornin, and attempted to help him up. Gornin told me My time has passed my child, and yours is beginning. Remember who you are and what you told me. I will be with you always. When the sun shines down on you, or the wind ruffles your hair, that will be me. Gornin reached up and placed a calloused hand on my face, smiled, and slipped away. I cried over Gornin, and smoothed his long white hair down. I walked over to a large oak tree, and asked for permission to bury Gornin at its base. I solemnly placed Gornin’s body in the grave and covered him up. The next morning I gathered my possessions, took the time to pack some provisions and prepare a few infusions for my journey."
Vamir took a deep breath as he finished his story. "I left looking for his ring, and have ended up here with you good folks. You ask if I am ready to be an adventurer, my simple reply sir is I don't know. Gornin said he saw so much more in my, perhaps it is time to see what is there."

Conversations go on, as the Wardens try to get to know the newcomer. Atlas asks about some of Vamir's Bloodwitch abilities, in particular the ability to keep him from having to go see Lord Gargul. As the conversation starts to go late, Armand decides to take his leave and go speak with laughingwater, in hopes that a message could be sent to their drow allies in the scab to keep an eye out for an awakened chimpanzee. (Otaktay is a chimp, not an orangutan) When he arrives at Laughingwater's, he finds that him and Fredorian appear to be having a few drinks. and a jovial conversation. when Armand asks about the message, Fredorian pipes up, My caravan is heading that way in a day or two I would be happy to deliver a message for you, just write a letter, and let me know whom you would like me to deliver it to. At the mention of a letter, Laughingwater offers a quill and ink, as well as some stationary. Fredorian then asks, "How do I convince Atlas that I'm not my father?"
Elyngael goes to the sapling for solitude, and when she arrives, she is surprised to see that it is three to four times the size she last saw it. She then begins her 24 hour time of prayer. At around the 12th hour, She finds herself in a strange place, whether it's in her head, or a physical reality, she has no way of knowing for certain. Sitting on a chair, with a warhammer at his side, is a powerful looking man who has the appearance of a seasoned warrior. Upon her arrival the man stands up and offers Elyngael a chair that she isn't sure was there before the offering. The warrior doesn't say a word, even the offering of the chair was a pantomime. It's as if he is waiting for Elyngael to speak.

Armand smiles and shakes his head. "Fredorian I'm afraid Atlas is, how shall I say it, a bit headstrong. As good as he is to have in a fight let's say his ability to think straight at times is as if he was paddling upstream the river of wisdom with a leaking canoe."
Armand sits down and proceeds to tell them the tales of Atlas's heroics mixed with his hotheaded approach to battle resulting in him often going down. He tells it respectfully not to make fun of Atlas but to illustrate Atlas's simple approach to life and battle.

My plea is simple; if You should account me fit to continue on the Journey You have set me upon, I should be most grateful to share it once again with a new companion. I offer a part of myself in sacrifice to You," with that Elyngael takes her dagger and cuts off her long braid then lays it before Domi. She bows her head again and waits.

Atlas nods vigorously when Vamir explains the process, "Yes, that is exactly what she did. Or so I'm told, I wasn't thinking correctly at the moment. In fact, I don't think I was thinking at all." He laughs out loud at that one.
Atlas takes his time the next day, actually sleeping in for the first time in a long time. Upon waking he spends the day bartering with the group so he can get the winged boots and possibly upgrade his ring of protection.

IC: The next day Owen introduces Vamir to his wife and son, Isabel and Simon, and offers to give him something of a tour of the Tree. "Isabel and Simon moved to the Tree recently; prior to that they were in the care of a friend of ours in the Contested Kingdoms. Simon, do you want to help me take Vamir on a tour of the Tree?"

As the evening winds down Vamir takes his leave and bids everyone good night. Vamir wanders about the tree looking for an inn of sort. Vamir finds an inn and asks for a room, after paying he stumbles in and locks the door behind him. Vamir sleeps for his 2 hours and wakes up refreshed. After relaxing for a bit Vamir pulls his cauldron out and begins to prepare for the day. Vamir takes a deep breath and draws Woldsblood into the physical Wold (Concentration DC 32). Vamir feels the power surge through him as he gives thanks to Queen Maab.
Vamir takes a few minutes to center himself and begins a Ritual of Warding (Survival DC 23). Vamir takes a deep breath and begins a Ritual of Spiritual Healing (Heal DC 26 fail). Vamir mutters to himself angrily and commands his cauldron to shrink and places it back in his pouch. Vamir quickly dresses and heads for the common room hoping for breakfast. After a healthy breakfast Vamir wanders back towards the rooms of the group and meets up with Owen. Vamir greets Owen's family warmly and quickly agrees to a tour of the tree.

Armand shares with Fredorian that Atlas is both headstrong and heroic, sharing the numerous stories of Atlas's past heroics, Fredorian takes it all to mean that he just needs to be patient and let the fighter warm up to him. I'm assuming that a letter was written for Fredorian to deliver?
Elyngael shares her request with the one she rightly assumes is her deity. Domi doesn't say a word he simply smiles at his servant, and Elyngael gets the sense that words aren't needed, the Lord of Courage has not only excepted her service, as worthy, but also her sacrifice. Domi stands up and picks up his warhammer. He turns to his chair which is no longer a chair but an anvil, and Elyngael isn't sure now if it was ever a chair, thus being the nature of the place. Domi lays Elyngaels braid on the anvil, and begins working it with his hammer, as a blacksmith would work steel, and after a few moments the braid begins to take the form of a mighty wolf. The horse sized beast jumps off the anvil landing within a few feet of Elyngael. It growls a deep guttural growl of warning, then realizing what it just did, the wolf's tail goes between its mighty legs and it drops in a submissive posture.
Atlas, Owen, and Vamir continue to get to know each other, with Owen offering to show the newcomer around at the end of the evening. Owen asks Simon if he would like to join, and at first the adolescent says, "Do I have to?" but after seeing Vamir's scar, his attitude changes from one of indifference, to one of, "this guy is cool", so he says, in as much of a non-committal way as possible, "Sure dad, I'll go with ya".
Neshi takes the time to get to know the occupants of the Tree better in his free time, though the majority of his time is dedicated to crafting on his cloak.
OOC... If anyone wants to go someplace or do something for character advancement reasons, that require role play, please feel free to set the stage, and I'll follow your lead. (like I have been doing with Elyngael) If it doesn't require roll play, just give a description in your post as to what you are doing. In game time, you can take as much time as you need, but in real time I would like to start the new module no later then Monday, sooner if possible, but I don't want to rush you guys.

The next day Armand seeks out Fredorian and gives him the letter to deliver to Eclyndryl ne Lidely of House Dul'g in the Scab. "This should explain about Otaktay. However, if things seem amiss with the Drow and she's not in charge anymore then don't try to deliver it."
Armand then smiles at Fredorian. "Come with me, I'd like to show you something." Armand takes Fredorian to the headquarters. He then takes him upstairs to the library. Which is room A on the map There Armand shows him the large room, with only about maybe 1 shelf worth of books (1 10 foot long shelf). "When you are out traveling please be on the lookout for books. They don't have to be about any particular subject. I envision this room becoming a library for the entire Tree to access to both educate and entertain. So fiction or non-fiction whatever you think would interest someone." He turns and offers his hand to Fredorian. "Oh, don't worry, I'll pay for the books." He then see's Fredorian off as his caravan leaves.

After a walk about in the morning Atlas heads back to their home. However, as he approaches he sees Fredorian enter with Armand, so he quickly turns around. She stands before the shaggy head and looks deep into his golden eyes, "I will call you Brawn for your might and your color. We will be companions unto death" Elyngael turns and bows to her Lord Domi, "My thanks to You for answering my prayers. Brawn will serve You first, then me. He will be a constant reminder of Your generosity." When Elyngael raises her head again, she and Brawn are once again standing near the sapling.

Armand delivers the letter for Fredorian's delivery, and invites him up to their headquarters. Once there, Armand shows Fredorian the library in the making, explaining that it is the desire of the Wardens to make it a great place for resource and entertainment, available to all. He asks the traveling merchant if he could keep his eyes open for books claiming that a subject matter isn't that important, as they would like to be able to offer something for everyone's tastes. Fredorian's breaks out into an ear to ear smile when he hears Armand's desire and he says, "I will most certainly do my best to help in such a noble achievement!" At the caravan's departure, Fredorian waves to Armand as one would a friend.
Atlas goes for a walk, when he arrives home, he sees Armand with Fredorian, and decides to make himself scarce. He goes to see Miles to discuss Tree security. Miles assures him that after being caught with their pants down with the ape attack, that he has been working on increasing the number of guards, and the dispersion of the guards, through out the Tree, in order to speed up reaction times.
Elyngael names her new friend Brawn due to his size and color. Brawn seems to like the name, as his tail starts waving insistently, and he nuzzles his great cheek with Elyngael's and giving her a quick face lick. Elyngael thanks Domi for the gift, and assures him that Brawn will serve Domi 1st and her 2nd. Domi smiles at the she-elf and finally breaks his silence, "Of that I have no doubt, my faithful one!" With those words, Elyngael and Brawn are at the sapling.
Owen leads Simon and Vamir on a tour of the Tree like most people would only dream of, as he casts spider climb on the trio. Sporadically during the tour, Varmir takes the time to commune with the Tree, just to make sure the Tree is healing properly. Of course the Tree doesn't see the need for all the fuss and tells Vamir, "I appreciate your concern, but I assure you I feel better then I have in over 500 years, Wiz-Bang's potion was truly what the doctor ordered!"

While talking with Miles Atlas asks a few more questions and makes a few suggestions. "Do you have anyone guarding the sapling that we planted? That is just as important if not more so. Also, have you thought about posting sentries further out, or maybe even outposts? I'm not trying to turn this into a city, but something in the Wold feels wrong , with all these threats the Tree has faced lately. Maybe just a temporary thing if we can find the men needed. Anyway, think on it and let me know how I can help. Good day to you sir." With that, Atlas walks some more, thinking.
At one point he looks up and sees Vamir, Owen, and Simon climbing the Tree like it is nothing. This brings to mind the comments Vamir made about checking on the health of the Tree, which puts him on his second mission for the day.
As soon as Vamir is done with the tour Atlas tracks him down. "Hi Vamir, I hope your stay so far has been what you expected. I noticed that you stayed at the Inn last night. If you would like to stay at our place it can be arranged. We have plenty of room and I for one am planning to convince you to join the Wardens." Atlas gives him a smile and continues, "I was wondering if I can talk to you about another matter as well. You can speak to the Tree, but does it speak back? A long while back we had a Greenmage with us and he had quite a connection with the Tree. Back then we also had a situation where some of us were having dreams about the Tree and they were pretty dark. We also have a painting that tied to the dreams. I'm wondering if you might be able to ask the Tree what the significance of all that was and if there is something we can do to help? It felt like a call for help, but we never knew what to do."

Atlas shares some ideas with Miles, who takes them all down in ink, he thanks the fighter for the suggestions, but shares his concerns as to whether or not the Tree community has the resources to pull it off. He promises to look into it, and says he'll bring it to management, as he would most likely need their approval for such a large scale expansion. He promises to let Atlas know as soon as he knows something, and he will keep his offer of assistance in mind. Atlas offers Varmir a place at the Wardens home, and tells him he would love for the budding greenmage to join their ranks. He shares the story of the painting and the dream and asks if maybe Varmir could ask the Tree about it. OOC...I'll have to read up on those points myself, thanks Trey for listing them.
Something seems to be troubling Armand
Meeting Brawn, has made Elyngael happier then she has felt in a long time, so she decides to go hunting. Though she is fatigued from going over a day and a 1/2 without sleep, she is able to bring home a lovely stag, as well as a 300lbs wild pig, a fine harvest to be sure.
Owen does some research on plant magic
Vamir doesn't want to put anyone out, but greatly appreciates Atlas's offer, he isn't sure whether or not he is cut out to be a Tree Warden, but he likes the current line up, and is happy to listen to them. He shares that he has discovered that the Tree is no ordinary Tree, and is willing to commune with it anytime.

Atlas claps Vamir on the back and says, "Don't you worry, you'll be calling it home before you know it. As for when and where, let's have dinner tonight at our place and discuss it. Will you be able to make it?"
Atlas leaves Vamir with a purpose. He goes about tracking everyone he can down and tells them that Vamir might help us get answers in regards to some old puzzles, so he would like them all to have dinner tonight to discuss. He also takes every opportunity to encourage them to invite Vamir into the group. Atlas is very fond of adding someone to the party to help keep them alive. Especially after his last visit with Gargul and with the more recent loss of Khan. Dying is becoming a bad habit in this group, "But don't share those exact words with Vamir" he says with a wink.
When speaking to Armand, he senses something amiss. "Are you OK, you seem..." He just let's it hang there, knowing that Armand can fill in the blank better than he can.

Vamir spends the majority of the day walking around the tree, thinking about what Atlas has asked of him. "Well, let's see if he will even answer me" Vamir mutters to himself. Vamir finds a quiet spot and begins communing with the tree. Lowering his head, and taking a deep breath beforetalking, "My name is Vamir Herzen. I am a witch and greenmage. It seems as though some folks are goi g to have a few questions for you and they are going to ask me to help you and them communicate. I hope this is going to be ok with you. If it is not please tell me and I will let them know you are not interested." Vamir quietly waits for an answer the deference he has for The Tree obvious to any who watches. About an hour before his expected arrival to dinner Vamir breaks his quiet communion with The Tree, "Thank you for allowing me to spend this time with you." Vamir leaves to clean up and arrives about 15 minutes before dinner.

She then takes Brawn around the Tree showing him off to everyone. To anyone that will listen, "This is Brawn, Domi himself crafted him and gifted him to me. He is my new companion."

Atlas assures Varmir that he will be calling Warden HQ home in no time, and he invites him for dinner again. He does his best to gather the others sharing with them that Vamir may be able to unlock some old riddles, and asks if they could try to help him convince Varmir to join their ranks. He then notices that Armand is deep in thought, and asks if everything is OK.
Armand confides in Atlas and any of the other Wardens that may be present, that he is having a hard time deciding what to spend his money on, and asks for advice.
After spending a pleasant time with Atlas, Varmir decides to get a feel for how the Tree might answer the future question , so he decides to commune with the tree for a while. The Tree seems happy to communicate with the elf, and they have a nice conversation about a variety of things, but when it comes to the topic of the Dream and Painting, the Tree simply says, "I'm not sure now is the right time for those answers". The Tree doesn't seem put out by the question, to the contrary, his tone is very pleasant.
Elyngael returns to the Tree, and hands the stag and pig over to the proper people, suggesting pit roasting the pig. Even though she is exhausted, she can't help but show off Brawn, and sharing how he came to be.
Neshi finishes his work on his cloak just in time to meet Brawn, and assures Elyngael that he is a marvelous creature, and that the two of them will make a great team.
Owen is frantically working on something, and seems to have locked himself away for the time being.

Atlas is very excited to meet Brawn, "He's a wonderful companion El, congrats! Can I pet him, or is that rude?" After spending some time meeting Brawn Atlas begins to dig the pit. "We have lots to talk about tonight, so I'll get this started right away!"
As he's digging he contemplates Armand's question and waits for him to pass by so he can comment, "I'm happy to take the spears for you Armand as long as I know I'm protecting you by doing so. Not every enemy can cast spells, but that is my biggest concern for you. The cloak I have certainly helps with such things and I would highly suggest something similar for you."

Armand wanders around the Tree and see's Elyngael with her big brown wolf. "He looks wonderful Elyngael." He pauses to asses Elyngael. "Perhaps you should try to get some sleep soon."
Then he comes across Atlas digging a pit. He listens to Atlas's advice. "I'd about come to the same conclusion. Well off to the Catacombs!."
Armand returns well before the barbecue. "It was quite crowded in there. I hope they can service my order before too long."

Elyngael is starting to feel the effects of seeing Domi and getting Brawn. She yawns and decides that dinner will be ample enough for many, so she may as well sleep a bit. She has left her hood up on her cape, but can feel the lightness of her missing braid. "It was a small price to have you by my side Brawn. Let's get some shut-eye," With that she walks just outside of the noisy gathering, curls up with Brawn, and sleeps deeply.

Vamir realizes a bit to late it is way to early for dinner. As he wanders around below the tree he spies Atlas digging a pit in the ground. Vamir walks over and begins assisting Atlas. "Sir Atlas, a few moments ago spoke with The tree. It was not a long conversation but we did speak. He was very pleasant but when I asked about the dreams and the paint6he simply said now is not the time. The tree seems willing to talk just not on this subject." Vamir continues assisting Atlas as long as he is needed.
