Most of the group is now in the Main Room trying to figure out how to scale a perfectly smooth and perfectly vertical wall 60'.
Cameron puts himself into a corner with the intention of using the two walls to assist. However he makes no progress and all the aid the others can provide do not help.
A perfectly smooth, flat vertical (or inverted) surface cannot be climbed.

Atlas stays with Asads, still holding the Mobius Pieces and tries to explain the problem as he sees it.

While he does that, Carver heads down the Second Passage to the Main Room. The centaur arrives in a most peculiar way. Caver exits the second passage on the very wall that the others are looking to scale. The entire Wold has shifted and Carver sees his friends now all standing upon the wall, where as they see Carver upon a wall. The elusive new passage to the others is now a simple walk across the 'floor' for Carver.

Asads answers to Atlas continue to narrow the possibilities. This location is paramount, your safety is important. We are to remain and protect until reinforcements arrive. I do not understand your unwillingness to do so.

Cameron just stares at Carver standing on the wall.
" Really? I give up."
Not the most lawful person, Cameron still has trouble with the laws of physics changing from minute to minute in this place.
" Well, give me a few minutes to put all my gear back on and then we can walk up the freaking wall to get to the next hallway."
" On second thought, go ahead, I'll put my gear back on . Just try not to die. Mayb we will all just float away to happy land once we jump through the next hoop."

While Cameron sits on the floor, putting his gear back on, he strikes up a conversation with Carver and any of the others who are nearby..
" So Carver, you know your boss, Gargul and how he is not fond of the unliving things in the Wold. How do you think he would react to ol' Asads there? I am thinking he might have a bit of an issue with him, because I don't think Dragon's live as long as 'Osul said he has been around here waiting for relief. Kinda makes me think that he doesn't have a pulse, which would make Gargul a bit miffed."
"On the other hand, I think our fastest way out of here by dying would be to get in a fight with ol' Asads. Where exactly does that leave us?"

Cameron jumps up and claps his hands together once, then interlaces his fingers and cracks his knuckles.
" Even odds this ends poorly, but what the heck, I already fell farther than this so..."
Cameron takes Carvers hand and plants first one, then both feet on the wall. Once both feet are on the wall he lets go of Carver's hand and sees whether or not he sticks.

I read it as he is standing on the wall, near the "floor". This would need to be the case, since the opening he exited from is near the "floor" we are standing on, not 60' tall.
I could be wrong though, it wouldn't be the first time.

With Carver on the wall, at least to everyone else's perception, things get even more confusing. The Centaur comes up with an idea, everyone head down the First Passage to the Second Room and then continue as he did down the Second Passage back to the Main Room.
Cameron and Crosseye put their armor back on and quickly perform an experiment.
Carver moves across his floor so the Cameron is standing next to him, albeit on the wall to the centaur. The two reach out with firm grips and Carver pulls Cameron over. To Cameron, though, he is still being pulled to what his body considers the floor. If Carver lets go, he falls and so Cameron hops back to the others.
Osul brings up a couple issues to his mind. One, experimenting with the mobius loops that Atlas is holding. Do things change if he only holds one? Second the frightening thought that what thy are witnessing here could spread. Is that what Asads is protecting the Wold from and why this location is important.
Atlas remains with Asads and can hear the reports being shouted down the corridor to him

The question now is, does everyone head down the Hall of Taurs aka First Passage. Or does the group want to experiment with the Mobius Strips Atlas has.
Asads, still seems content to remain in the Second Room with Mobius Strips. It is also very clear that Asads does not intend to let you remove the Mobius Strips from that room

" If, or when we finally end up defying Asads there will be a fight. He will do his job and strike down anyone that he can reach. We will lose people. On that note, when we decide to do it, we need to all be on the same page, and we will need to put him down. I would prefer to not do that until we know what we are going to do, lets explore as far as we can first."
Cameron looks at the taur passage.
" So, Get ready if you are coming along, I am about to follow Carver's lead and head around the structure and up the wall. It would be dumb for us to each do it separately and each get blown up, so lets get ready to follow me once I set off the trap."
Cameron casts a blessing from Jancassis the Huntress on himself and feels his legs get stronger. He then heads down the Taur passage, his butt clenching as he crosses the threshold that should set off the trap.

Atlas sees everyone running down the hallway and past him down the other hallway. He catches their mumbling as they go past and he decides to follow them.

"Asads, I'm going to set these down and go with the group. Do me a favor and let everything be. Also, feel free to head back down that other tunnel there. It will be interesting to see you in your place while we're walking on the walls. Do you know how that works? Anything you can tell me about the wall walking and stuff before I go?"

Atlas waits to hear what Asads has to say then heads down the other tunnel with the rest of the group. UNLESS Asads says that he's going to put the spheres back, then he stays and waits for the group to report back.

A plan is basically formed, or at least a path of movement. To get to Carver, the group will need to travel down the First Passage called the Hall of the Taurs, to the Second Room and through the Second Passage. Carver is the only one who has taken this route and when he emerged, it was upon the wall, making the new doorway easily accessible.

Before Cameron heads into the Hall of the Taurs, Mack gives the Trap another try and is able to temporarily disarm it. Everyone knows it will reset soon and thus the party heads down the 180' hall to the Second Room and arrives safely

Asads and Atlas are there waiting. Atlas speaks of leaving the Mobius Strips with Asads while the party explores, but the trap laden cube and alien nature of the place with the assurance of needing the strips to access the CnC Asads eluded to earlier the party is going to need to take them and Asads is going to try and stop them

Osul Crosseye and Atlas all still want to discover a peaceful resolution, to not enter an engagement with the Guardian Asads.

Asads answers Atlas in the same cool detached voice, I'm afraid I cannot permit you to continue. It has become clear this group endangers this location. Asads draws his weapon, but does not advance

Atlas draws his sword and steps forward, his heart not in this particular fight.
Osul offers some advice that Asads might be like many other things here, a trap. He casts a spell, designed to subdue and not kill. A sudden blast of wind and rain, pours about Asads
Mack starts cautiously circling to Asads left Yes the smaller combat map is 5' squares and teh letters and number coordinates are highlighted in Blue and Purple
Carver draws his sword and makes haste down the Second Passage. As he enters it, an electrical trap detonates about him

Carver is 45' away from J.K/8.9 on the combat map To Carver's orientation, everyone seems to be on the same plane or floor.

Seeing this going to happen (something I didn't really want either) I pull "Liitle Mack" out and move in with Atlas. (Move to M9) "Sorry about this Asada! Honor be with you!" I say to the Guardain and join in the battle. I try to strike him with my great axe.

Walter snaps to when he sees they are actually going to fight the guardian. He moves behind it, staying out of reach until the last moment ( I counted, unless Asads has reach we don't know about he can do this without AoO's being provoked) then dashing into (K/9) to attack with sword and shield, granting Atlas a flanker.

I keep moving to get in behind the Guardian, trying to avoid an AoO, so moving to L5 for now, in preparation of doing the 5' moves starting next turn as I get within his attack range. (?) If I think he can already reach me, I do the cautionary 5' steps starting now already.

Knowing that placebo affects are often just as good as the real thing: "Atlas, I just gave you a psychic Touch Of Destiny, which will enable you to hit better and do more damage!"

OOC: Where did Walter come from? Was he invisible on the map, or just not there because he hasn't been here lately? ;)

Atlas takes a sharp breath in as Asads' sword just misses him. He takes the opportunity to counter strike, lashing out with his sword. However, it is clear that he's a bit hesitant, as he doesn't even come close to connecting.

Cameron snaps out with his whip, trying to trip Asads, but fails
Crosseye moves in and strikes Asads, finding a weak point in the Guardians defenses.
Walter moves to flank Asads with Atlas and swings with his scimitar, the blade skips off of Asads armor A full Attack is required to gain extra attacks be they two weapon fighting or because of a high Base attack
Mack continues to circle, shouting to Atlas an imaginary spell
Osul casts another Storm Burst to keep Asads off balance and wear him down
Atlas attacks, but misses badly
Carver continues down the hall and enters the smaller room, but with Walter already at Asads rear, Carver has to Squeeze to get close enough for an attack. His sword does slam into the Guardian.

Asads drifts back and to his left to exit the flank and strikes at Carver. His sword draws a minor wound into Carver's flank [Hit AC 19 Dmg 9] [move from L8 to K7]

Asdads combat motion is fluid, quick and quite good. Now that he is more animated, gears and cogs can be seen at the joints in his armor

Atlas tries to take advantage of Asads' distraction and attacks again with his sword. The sounds and feel of battle are starting to take over for him and his strike is more composed this time, but not yet exactly where it needs to be. His blade just skims past the Guardian's shoulder, not doing any real damage.

I take a 5' step to K6, trying to give others an opportunity to flank. I then unleash with my deadly flurry-of-miniature-blows, which will most likely finish him off......

(flurry of blows: d20+4-1 for each blow, and d4-1 damage
Hit AC 19 for 3 damage, and AC 13 for 3 damage)

OOC: I didn't factor in any "flanking" bonus, as I'm not sure how many of us get that.

Yes, it looked like a few folks disappeared again. I fixed the map again based on what you all posted as to where you wanted to go. Asads is now completely surrounded and no more melee people can get in to fight him. Based on people who gave coordinates to where they went Mack and Carver have Flanking, the rest of us are on our own.
Also, since he is a construct type thingee I doubt he will take subdual damage, it would be like trying to make a toaster tired, but I get where 'Osul was coming from and up until he started to click and whir, who really knew right?

Me either, that is totally table talk. However, is that -2 to attacks dependent on the target taking damage from your burst or do they take the minus regardless? If they do it is still helping quite a bit. When I read it, it doesn't say they have to take damage too be hampered by the winds, so YEAH, still really helpful.

Asads armor is thick, and Cameron's fighters are having trouble getting past his defenses. Jancassis has prepared Cameron for this and he thanks her by invoking her name and asking her to guide the hands of his friends toward victory. Each of Cameron's friends feels a sharp, quick, prick to the back of their sword hands and a brief wave of nausea as her blessing is delivered. Afterwards they feel more fearless and surer in their attacks.

Walter feels the sting to the back of his hand and secretly his skin crawls
what just bit me!? is the top thought in his mind. Then, like a venom, the feeling of courage and sureness of action spreads through him and he attacks again, trying to get past Asads armor. This time as his scimitar slashes in low, his shield connects and bashes Asads helmeted head.

If I can do a 5' step retreating backwards without drawing an AoO from Asads, I do so, stepping back to L5.

IF I get an attack before doing a 5' step, here is my flurry-of-blows for this round:

(flurry of blows: d20+4-1(+1 flanking) for each blow, and d4-1 damage
Hit AC 10 for x damage, and AC 9 for x damage) both misses

OOC: If I get even a +1 bonus to hit due to flanking, I believe I hit him with one of my attacks last round, as I hit AC19 without any bonus.

Cameron Casts Bless and the spell takes affect for the entire party
Walter slashes and slams Asads with scimitar and shield
Mack, bleeding heavily, makes a couple strikes towards Asads, but does not land any as he is more concerned with getting out of sword range. Mack backs off.
Carver heals himself again and calls for the team to shift to the right to and attacks with everything he can bring to bear. Unfortunately, none of the attacks get past Asads defenses.
Osul moves to Mack and heals him with Cure Light Wounds CLW
Crosseye presses his attack, but Asads parries the blow with deft precision.

DM I'm going to give Atlas the day to post.....Asads will act tomorrow morning likely

Thinking to myself how I can't wait to pick up some Druid skills, so I can help in the healing department... if nothing else by being able to use that wand.

I look for ways in which I can assist, but if everyone is shifting over, there doesn't appear to be much I can do at the moment.

Hoping I don't need to take anyone's spot, I prepare to switch in if someone else needs to fall back. I ready the goblin short bow, in the chance that I can maybe take a short or 2 while I'm waiting. Can't hurt.... TOO much. ;)

Mack keeps in tight providing Flanking for Walter with his bow in hand. Though with Asads move up on him last round, firing a bow could be dangerous
Walter attacks, but cannot overcome the Guardians armor and parrying blade
Cameron calls out a shift for Carver to be able to charge in with a lance and snaps his whip at Asads to no effect
Zee casts a spell that impacts Asads. Spell please
Carver drops his sword and performs a charge attack like only a centaur can. Ending with the ramming of his lance into Asads
Atlas attacks but misses
Osul moves around to heal Walter CLW 5 HP
Crosseye swings and this time penetrates Asads defenses with 'Little Mack'

Asads steps forward and right at Zee, removing himself from the flanking move for a moment. It also closes teh gap to Carver, rendering the lance ineffective for the moment and Asads makes a quick thrust into Carver

The blades strikes hard into his torso.

Carver takes a 5' step backwards, 'The Idea was to keep him boxed in, now I can't continue to charge him with him hammering away at me. I'm stepping back, please box him in so I can begin charging him again and doing real damage." As he takes a step back, he lays hands on himself again, healing only some of the damage he just took.

He also takes a swing but misses as he steps back.

Asads sends a backhand wide at Walter catching his shield and then then brings his sword in on a hard down angling thrust. The blade passes on the right side and buries itself deep into Walter right breast.

Walter feels the blade go through him cleanly. As it withdraws he feels a gout of blood leave his body after it. Cameron's channeling seals the wound, but there is still extensive internal damage.

As he backs away, Walter again slashes with his scimitar and smashes with his shield. The scimitar strikes home.

OK, I work until 11pm tonight so I may not have posts in by midnight.
I moved Carver on the map to where he wanted to go, remember he is using a lance, giving him reach. Is it unrealistic he can charge up behind you guys and still hit the guardian? Kinda,Yes. Is it possible within the game mechanics? Also, Yes.
If we can somehow avoid getting someone nearly killed for a round, which is unlikely due to his massive (+12 wow) bonus to hit and his equally massive (+7) damage,We might be OK. I am starting to do math and think there is almost no chance to disarm him, or trip him. Once I am out of Channeling I may scoop up the "handles" and make an end run for the other room to see if they can shut him down.
I don't know, other than us scoring massive hits for boat loads of damage I think that might be our only prayer of beating him.

OOC: Just a clarification.
A flurry of blows and unarmed attacks in general can consist of fists, feet, knees, elbows and even head butts. So unless something requires a empty hand (deflect arrows or catch arrows) carrying something does not hamper any attacks.

Walter staggers as Asads hits him yet again. He looks around and sees that if he falters Asads will either get to the healers or be able to stop Carver from using the handles to maybe end this without killing the guardian. So Walter sucks it up and renews his flurry of attacks, looking for another weak spot in Asads armor.

Atlas swings again, but misses again. He is heartened with the previous strike that this creature can be harmed with his blade, but another failed attempt has his anger rising again. Seeing Walter take this beating is not helping. In an attempt to help Walter he shouts at Asads, "Asads! You stupid mechanical wizards toy, swing that sword at me if you dare!"

Carver tries another charge, but Asads slips past the lance. He calls out about the possible plan of simply running off with the mobius strips.
Cameron answers, believing Carver should make the run. He is the fastest after all. The cleric then channels healing magic into the room [All PC's Heal 2 HP]
Walter is hurting bad, but what else could be done. To pull back would leave a much more vulnerable member of the group exposed. He presses on, unfortunately with the same results
Zee hits Asads with another Magic Missile
Atlas yells at Asads to leave attack him as he tries to past the heavily armored Guardian without success.
Osul uses the curing wand on Walter, hoping to keep him propped up and in the fight Heal Walter 5HP
Mack strikes hard in what should be a vulnerable location, but Asads seems to not even notice.
Crosseye comes in with 'Little Mack' but teh blow goes wide to Asads right side

Asads continues his relentless assault against Walter. Blood pours from the man as his endurance is taxed and Asads seems limitless. The sword runs the young man through.

Walter feels the stabbing pain of Asads sword again, this time dropping him to the ground. Seconds later a wave f healing washes over him, reviving him, but leaving him weak as a kitten. If he tries to stand, he will get hit and likely killed. If he swings from prone, that small chance he had to hit will grow even smaller. Walter does the only thing he can, he plays dead and readies an attack in case Asads tries to move over him to get to the retreating form of Carver.

Hold action. If Asads tries to move through Walters space he will strike at him, from prone
Attacking from prone with the Scimitar+2 flanking, -4 prone, +1 bless,+5 base = 9 miss

Cameron grunts as the blade passes through him. He can not give ground, Carver needs to be able to get a head start. He must heal, or else bot he and Walter are lost.

Cameron once again lets his goddess's power pass through him, but this time a little bit stays with him. It moves his hand to his coat as he finishes channeling and drops the holy symbol back on it's chain. That hand reappears holding a dagger, which he heroically thrusts at Asads.

Having both items in hand, Carver takes off at a full gallop (maximum run speed, base move is 35')

As he is running, he intones a prayer, "Lord Gargul, I pray that this is the proper action, I also pray that you will watch over my friends who have given me a chance to find out if this is a good decision or not. 'Osul is very glad to note that Asads' priorities put attacking the standing ahead of finishing off the fallen.

But clearly Cameron is taking the brunt of the Guardian's attack. 'Osul uses the wand to cast Cure Light Wounds on this halfling. [Healing 6HP]

Atlas is frustrated at the way this battle is going. Up to this point it has caused him to lose focus, so he regathers his thoughts and watches the way that Asads is moving, thinking back to the last few strikes and defensive maneuvers he has made. There it is, a weakness. With the speed of a viper Atlas strikes at Asads sliding his blade under under the creature's sword arm and into it's torso. He can feel the gears and mechanisms inside breaking as the swords enters. As he pulls it from Asads' body he twists it to finish the job.

Seeing Atlas finally get a hit I feel inspired take back "Little Mack ", concentrate hard and SWING.(attack roll 7+1 =8). What a big swift that was. I need to just relax and let all my training and practice take over or is it just Atlas's luck move to me. I don't know but we need to finish this very soon or poeple are going to get seriously hurt. I know the magic and healer guys are getting very tried and warren out.

OK, so I provoke an AoO no matter what I do trying to get up. Got it. I was hoping I had overlooked someway to avoid that.
IC
Walter knows that if he tries to get up Asads will attack him and have no chance of missing. If he tries to crawl away, the result will be the same. So, he does the only thing he can, strike from where he is.

Attacking from prone with the Scimitar+2 flanking, -4 prone, +1 bless,+5 base = AC 21 a hit for 5 damage

Walter drives his blade straight up and under Asads armor, striking gold.

As Asads pushes through the group, Atlas takes advantage of the situation, striking again where Asads is weak. His skill and luck are still true and he scores a deep, penetrating hit. "That should just about do it. His words are forceful, but he takes no delight in this. It is a job, he has people to protect, sometimes that means things get hurt in the process for the greater good.

As the Guardian makes a break for it, I take what I feel is a cheap shot at his back...

(single kick: d20+4(+1 Bless, +2 Flank), and d4-1 damage

I then take a clumsy shot at him with my goblin short bow that I still have in hand.

Cameron drive his dagger upwards in another attempt to gain revenge for being struck. This time his dagger slips between the plates of Asads armor and he strikes true. He score minimal damage, but enough to settle the score. With little choice he tears down the hallway after Asads. coming up behind the guardian he strikes again, this time his dagger skips off of the guardian's plating.
AoO hits AC 20 for 1 damage
Normal attack hits AC 7, a miss.

With the Guardain running off to chase Carver I know I I need to do. That is protect him with all I have and with that I pull back "Little Mack" ( use feat "power attack" -1 attack roll +1 1/2 str mod for two handed weapon. Attack roll 7+6-1=12 miss) and I miss him as he runs by. I still need to do more and run after him chasing Asads down the hall. When I catch back up to him I try again with my great axe. (Attack roll hit AC 21 damage roll 17) Winded and desperate I hit him with a mighty blow " You will not harm my friend!"

If he has fallen in the battle. I bend down to him and say " Rest now old breve Guardain! You done your job well!" I turn to the others there "Now what? He seem very interested in what or where Carver was doing/ going. We should search him and see if he has anything we need or can use!" Asads moves through Walter and Atlas strikes, again sinking his weapon into the Guardian
Mack lands what should be a good punch
Walter twists his scimitar blade before releasing it to get up. His shield falls to the ground and he follows Asads into the hall while pulling out his bow
Crosseye sweeps at Asads with his axe and catches only air. However, the man is not done yet and pursues the Guardian into the hall where this time his great axe strikes true. The Axe cleaves through the shoulder collar of Asads armor and comes to rest about halfway into his chest.

Asads falls forward with a deafening impact of metal on the stone floor

The Guardian lies face down where he fell, still tightly grasping his sword, but not moving in the slightest.

Carer need no longer run for it and so the party regroups about the fallen Guardian, Asads. Crosseye, Atlas and Mack express regret that there was no other viable outcome and indeed there could have only been one other, the death of the party. With the healing power of the wand and Jancassis, everyone survived.

Inspection shows that Asads is not dead, because he was never alive. The Armor he wears is unbuckled and reveals the body beneath. A clay and wax figure encasing a framework of metal. Asads face is featureless and alien without a nose or mouth. In place of eyes, are a pair of octagonal shaped diamonds. Two more, slightly larger diamonds, but also more roughly cut, are embedded in his chest. Between the diamonds in his chest are 2 parallel rods and seem to connect the gems. Detect Magic DM Assumption :) reveals Asads Long sword and Light Crossbow are both magical.

Freeing the long sword takes some tinkering as it was locked into the Guardians grip and not by the clumsy locking gauntlets of today, but through a complex series of wire and thin rods that sprang from the Guardians hand and a fixed to positions in the pommel and guard

DM Notes; Carver had to initially move through friendlies to get to the hall. My understanding is you cannot RUN if a square is occupied, even by friends.

The boots, armor, necklace, and belt of Asads had previously detected as magical, so Cameron removes them as well. Not being a scholar of magic, Cameron has no way to tell what they do if they are magical. He suggests removing the diamonds and any other parts of the construct that could be worth money as well.
Now they are at an impasse. They are mostly depleted and some of them bear wounds. Should they rest again before moving on or should they press their luck, hoping for no more traps or opponents. Cameron would rather rest.

Carver returns to the group, before placing any of the mobius parts. His first actions is to regather his gear and replace it where it belongs, sword at his hip, lance in the holder along his flank and the shield on his arm.
"I don't know anything about constructs and how they are made, but I agree that any superb hits any of us would have gotten did nothing special to it. From our training in the Fist, If I remember correctly, a target must be alive to be vulnerable to any hits like that, correct Cam?"
If needed Carver will help remove any items from the guardians remains....

Atlas hefts the long sword and flips it around to feel the balance of the blade. "Anyone mind if I take this? I think I'm the only one that specializes in the long sword, but let me know if I'm wrong." Atlas steps back as the others attempt to take out the diamonds and other components. He doesn't want to seem greedy, so he does his best to not interject when he calculates the value of everything in his head. Goodness Asads, you're worth a fortune!

I take a look at the Xbow, lift it up. Feels nice and light and what a wonderful looking weapon there seem to be something else special about it but I just don't what yet. " If no one else wants this, I will take this nice light Xbow. I have want to try/have one? Yes Atlas you can have it as far as I am concern. I also agree we should all rest up and get a fresh start after that it might also clear our minds but where should we rest back in the main room or in one of the side ones?" Resting and Recovery

The group makes a couple decisions, one of them to rest. The other is to gather what they can from Asads. Atlas takes the long sword, Crosseye takes the light crossbow. The diamonds are held onto by Mack, as are the rods. The rods themselves are very light weight, far lighter than their metallic appearance suggests they should be. Cameron takes the necklace, boots, belt and ring as well, though none of those items still detect as magic. All are well made, ornate in design and should fetch some money.

The topic comes up of trying to restore the Guardian. Cameron has magic that might Mend Asads. Should he try? Carver heals Cameron some of his wounds and the party sets a standard watch in the smaller room to recover. Time passes. In the neutral magically lit room and corridors in which the party finds themselves, time is something very easily lost track of. As biological organisms, the group has some advantages however. Hunger, thirst, the need for sleep all take their toll and eventually Cameron and Osul 'feel' the time is right to offer prayers and thanks and to commune with their patrons. Carver too, feels the passage to a new day as well

Party gains 2 HP for rest + whatever any characters wish to do. Long term care is not possible on yourself and you cannot give long term care and receive it at the same time

Side note....Carver it was pointed out I erred on your Run move. Only Difficult terrain or opponents or lack of a straight line prevent a Run Move. Allies do prevent Charge, which is where i likely confused the issue to myself

Atlas stretches and goes through his "morning" routine. Breakfast is short and cold, but he's in good spirits considering that they are all alive and he's got this new sword to play with. "Well, let's see what these mobius things do now. Carver, you want to lead the way to check out that other passageway?"

As he prepares to go he straps his old sword to his backpack and his new sword to his waist. He also takes the scabbard that Asads had to hold his sword.

As we settle for rest I also offer Cameron help in healing I am am skilled much better the last time in this now and have healing kits this time! I look over the light Xbow. I need to get this looked at latter, there is more to it, I know! In the morning I feel refreshed and start to help prepare a meal for everyone we do need to eat! When the others eat breakfast, Cameron starts mending Asads. He isn't sure it it will work, since they took out some of the more valuable items inside him, but it's worth a try.

The Third Passage

The group is fully recovered. breakfast, being what it is without heat, is eaten and the everyone makes do. Cameron begins to Mend Asads and Osul offers assistance in the matter. Carver, however, questions that thought process on merits of intelligence. After about an hour, there is very little change in Asads. It would seem that while the mending spells will be able to repair the clay and wax composite that is Asads skin, it seems to have no affect on the metal frame and gearing underneath.
There is little to be gained from working on the fallen Guardian, leaving the Second Passage to the main room.

The group makes there way down the corridor and like Carver discovered earlier, the party comes up the ramp to find themselves upon the wall. 40' away is the metal door that slid open when the Green and Yellow spheres were placed in the Second Room. In fact, it is the only way the group can tell they exited to the wall.

Mobius Strips in hand Atlas and the rest make the short walk and stand at the entrance to another ramp, identical to the last two. More High Woldian writing is masterfully etched here as well.

"Can anyone read that? Mack, can you check for traps? No sense in waiting around, after Mack checks for traps lets go. I'm guessing we'll be coming back to this room again shortly, but on the ceiling or another wall."

Atlas waits for anyone to respond to the question about the writing, and for Mack to check for traps. Once all that is taken care of, he enters the passage.

*If Mack finds a trap but cannot disarm it then Atlas has everyone back away before going through. Better for one person to get hurt than everyone.

"I am hoping I can only restore a few shades of the life that animated him, like I would with a weak healing spell on a fallen companion. But, it seems he has slipped beyond that, like a fallen companion moving on into the Woldsblood headed for the lands of rest. We could petition your god for his life, but since he was a soulless, animated, machine, and Gargul hates anything like him, I think he may just revoke all of our lives just for asking for such a blasphemous thing. So, we move on."

Cameron follows along and when Mack stops to look for traps he stands back, at least 30 feet from the door whether or not Mack finds a trap. Once someone has crossed without setting off a trap he follows along.

The group retreats to a safe distance and lets Mack examine the enttryway. Mack Finds no traps as he searches the entrance about the silver panel. A brief discussion is had about carrying Asads body, but it is quickly ruled out as impractical due to Asads sheer size and weight. The Mobius strips do not seem to go into any of the depressions that make up the High Woldian Glyphs etched into the wall and so the logical choice is to proceed forward and see what lies beyond.

The Passage shifts in construction formation from a 4 sided corridor to that of a tube. The walls, ceiling and floor all blend seamlessly together within 15' of entering the area. The passage is lit, though like everywhere else, there is no apparent source to the soft glow. The light is dimmer in here than in any of the other passages or rooms thus far.

The Passage continues for 120' where it opens into a massive spherically shaped room. In the center of this room, a full 60' away, is what appears to be an oval mirror without a frame. It simply hangs in the center of the sphere

ooc: I'm assuming a spherical room with a mirror in the middle means it is like the inside of a ball with the mirror hanging in the middle, meaning that we cannot reach it and no matter where we go we will always be 60' away. Correct? This also means that gravity is altered to allow us to walk all the way around the sphere, or are we stuck at the bottom and only able to go up the sides a bit?

Atlas begins to walk around the sphere looking for a spot where he can see his reflection in the mirror. He keeps his eyes on the mirror the whole time, watching what it is reflecting to see if it is reflecting the spherical room they are in or if it is showing something else, maybe like it is a gateway to another location.

"Well, there has to be something with the mirror. I'm going to wander around and see what it shows me. Can someone look to see if there are any hidden doors or anything that might allow us to continue or maybe get to the mirror?"

Since that Asads guy took so much damage to kill I can only assume it was like the wererats Carver and I faced at the Citadel that required special circumstances to kill or it was healing itself. I had to prepare magic weapon this morning in case the next thing we found was impervious to nonmagic blades, but now I can't read the gltps above the door. I hope this doesn'r get us killed
Cameron sighs and follows down the hallway. Then they find the rounded hallway. He stops and examines the workmanship. He notes that this passage is lit, and allows the light spell he has been recasting for days to fade.
Perception 27 Is it stone? Metal? Something else?
Moving on he comes to the spherical room and is in awe. It appears flawlessly round. How would a craftsman do that, without being able to stand on solid ground while doing it? He again examines the whole room, searching for secret doors like Atlas asked and for a place to put the mobius handles they found earlier. His whip is in one hand and the magical small shield on his other arm.

"I cover the back!" I tell the other and take a postion to the rear of the group following along at the back watch to make sure nothing comes apron us from that direction! Following the group down the hall into the next room (circle one with mirror). When I enter and see the mirror I ask "Anyone have an clue to the time of day it is? I bet this is the source of the lightning!". I look to see the angle of the mirror and then follow with sight to see where something something might start and then deflect too. I head to the source area to see if I see anything (perception check 18) then look at the mirror follow along the line and look to where it would deflect to see if there is anything of interest there. (perception check 8)

"We have been wrong about so many things we have guessed in here so far that I doubt that this room or any of the ones we enter will be the one that generates the light we see at night. Also I would love to see one of us reach that mirror 60 feet from every surface in this room. Any thoughts on how we can do that? The party gives Mack a few moments to inspect the immediate vicinity for traps and upon finding none, the group enters. The party breaks up and begins to move about the spherical room. As some suspected, gravity seems to be relative to where one might be standing at any point. The mirror is more of a silver metallic disk and not an actual mirror and creates no reflections upon its surface that anyone can see. The surface of the spherical room is of the same as the rest of the complex seen thus far, a polished and perfectly smooth gray granite.

The subject of the beacon lightning comes. Is it still active? The party has been in the complex for at least 2 nights, with last night being after the guardian was destroyed. Unfortunately there is no window, only guessing at this point. As the group talks, Mack starts bounding about and what everyone notices is that it seems the halfling falls back to the surface he lept from a bit slowly. A little more force and he might not come back 'down' in this room.

The group as a whole is also able to confirm Carver's supposition. The 'mirror' appears to be a flat nearly 2 dimensional object from every angle the group observes it from and all at the same time

As I read this there is no way to"run" into the mirror. The sphere is 120 feet across and the "mirror" is ]b]suspended[/b]in the middle of the room, like the yolk in an egg. The DM has said gravity is funny. I think if someone were "propeled" through the mirror it would act as a door. So as I see it, we either throw a halfling through it, or we string a rope across the sphere's diameter and climb up/down it to the mirror. there might be other choices but the rope is the best bet I see to get nonjumping folks out to the mirror.

"Carver, give me the rope and break out those goblin tents we found, unless someone else has some loose rope. We need over 120 feet for this to work. We need to string a rope across the room so that we can 'climb' to the mirror in the middle. The problem I see is anchoring it."
Cameron ties whatever rope they have together. As he does his mind works furiously on the anchoring issue. As he wonders how to accomplish what he is thinking of he looks down at his holy symbol as his hands reflexively grasp it. A double helix is very close to a mobius strip, except that it does not connect at the ends. What if the TWO of those were supposed to be the anchors to this puzzle.
" Can I see those strips we found in the orbs please, I have an idea."
Cameron takes one of the strips and places the stud on the back of it, the part they assumed went into a hole somewhere, against the 'floor' of the sphere, uttering a silent prayer that it sticks and becomes like a boat tie off that he can anchor the rope to.

A. If the tie off thing works, Cameron runs across the sphere and dos the same thing across the sphere to create a second tie off. He then strings the rope between the two tie offs with the help of the other, stronger members of the group.

B. If the tie offs don't work he still strings the the rope across the sphere with the help of the others and has two of them anchor the ends. He hopes that he and maybe someone strong like Carver, Atlas or Crosseye can climb out to the mirror where they can anchor the rope at the middle and aloow clombers to get there from the sphere.

Since there seems to be a feather fall effect on the room he climbs out again and again until he reaches the mirror, not fearing injury if he falls.

OOC: I believe Mack used the term "run" loosly, as he "pushed" himself off the floor with the hope of being able to reach the mirror since gravity seems to be less here. "run" was just a way to say that he doesn't want to slam into the mirror as he flies through the air. However, I'll defer to Mack if he's posting again today :-)

Atlas watches Mack try to get to the mirror while he pulls his rope from his backpack and hands it to Caramon to do the tying. "Make it tight and I'll take my end around to the other side and anchor it. Let's make sure that we throw another peanut at it or something before we try touching it. Who knows what this thing is going to do."

I also reach into my backpack and produce more rope and an grapping hook. I hold them up and say, "I have more rope Cameron and I also have this if it will help, a grapping hook!" I then hand the items over to either Cameron or Atlas who ever wants them. I take aside if need be and help with the string fm the rope.

The Mirror

The group forms a back up plan, take a rope and stretch it the length of the place. The idea would be to climb 'up' to the mirror. Carver anchors one side and Atlas or Crosseye can anchor the other. Crosseye can locate no good anchor points for a grappling hook. Ther are no corners or sharp angels of anykind in the sphere or the tube passage that was taken to arrive within it. How will those anchoring the rope make the ascent though? Cameron claims to have an idea and Osul, for one, is tickled and eager to hear it.

Osul makes a half hearted attempt to launch from the side and achieves the same results as Mack had with his first attempt

Mack takes a small run and then leaps for the middle of the sphere. It is quite impressive to say the least. not everyday does a Halfling launch himself nearly 60' into the air. His flight path is at the speed one might think of when jumping, he does not slowly float, but simply keeps going until he reaches the center where he stops and simply hangs there. To Mack, it feels as if you feet are on solid ground and you now stand in front of the oval silver disk. At this distance, you can see a vague depression in the surface like a shallow pyramid shape in the center. To the left and right of the pyramid depression is a depression that looks like the Mobius strips. The small tabs on the Mobius strips look like they would connect to the center of the pyramid. Above the pyramid shaped depression is a small sphere just below the surface of the mirror. Half of the sphere is green and half of it is yellow

Mack also notices that the surface of this 'mirror' does not appear to be entirely solid

" Huh, wrong again Cameron. Maybe you should just keep yer yap shut."
"Anyway, hang on a second Mack and I'll toss you the strips."

Cameron takes his blanket and rations(what little is left anyway) out of his backpack and puts the strips into it. Tying the rope around the shoulder straps he tosses the bag at Mack, hard enough he hopes to break the weak force holding him and it to the wall, er floor, er whatever. He holds the rope loosely, letting it slide through his hands in case something goes wrong and Mack misses.

19 to "hit" Mack. No range calcs used because I have no clue what the gravity will do to a projectile

"Well done Mack!" Atlas stands with the rope anchored, giving it a stiff pull every now and again. If Carver grumps at him he just smiles and yells, "Just seeing if I will be able to pull you to this mirror with the gravity change. Or maybe I'm just checking to see if you're away"

Atlas watches as Cameron throws the bag with the mobius strips. "Nice throw Cameron! Let's do this Mack, I have a feeling that we're getting close to our goal."

"Thanks! That was FUN!" I smile awkwardly, excited that I made it, and at the same time, surprised that I'm still alive. ;)

I catch the bag from Cameron, retrieve the strips, prepare to get zapped, and connect them where they seem to go on the pyramid.

If I had any time before that, I explore the "non-solid" surface. Can I push it, like jell-o? [i]Mmmm.... jell-o....[/b] My mind begins to wander.

Carver continues to hold the rope securely even when anyone tugs on it, he is the anchor. He watches as the Mobius strips are tossed up to Mack.
