She grinned. Depending on what she found, the dagger might just be disappointed once more.

Speeding through the cave system, you are brought to heel by the sudden cessation of footsteps ahead. You slow to a cautious speed, just in time to a dark shape standing in the corridor. A roiling wave of flesh gushes forward. Amid the fatty surge wriggle half-formed limbs and a dripping tumorous face. It jerks its head toward you, and hurries around a corner out of sight.

You are approximately 40 feet away, the creature is around a corner heading north. Your corridor is 10 feet wide and 8 feet tall. The corridor is filled with numerous rocky outcroppings.

ooc: I need all the usual checks in addition to your posted actions. We are in combat rounds.

Sesha glowers at the glob of flesh, then spits. Yet another foe beyond her ability to manipulate minds.

"Demons."

At this distance, including it being out of sight, she is cautious. She moves the distance up to the corner, then stops and listens, maintaining her elevation. If it sounds like it's not right there waiting, she will peek around the corner. On her broom, she was faster.

Perception: 30. To listen for more creatures, and just how quickly the Lemure is moving.

Taking a deep breath, she casts Bull's Strength on herself.

You stop at the corner and listen, maintaining your elevation. Your fine ears hear the lemure schlepping noisily down the corridor. You cast your spell, hold your breath, and poke your face around the corner...

...and feel a wave of palpable evil wash over you like a wave of filth. Standing upside down, attached to the ceiling, is a human female. She is clad in platemail armor. She has honey-blonde hair, blue eyes, and a dazzling smile. She looks very happy.

In a flash she reaches out and touches your nose. "Boop." (touch attack 28)

You feel lightning bolts of sheer terror pierce your mind, shrieking like a thousand flutes out of tune, a cold pain shudders in your chest.

ooc: You take 25 points of negative energy damage. Please make an initiative roll. Also, please make a Fortitude save at a -6 penalty. If you fail, you gain the Frightened condition.

"A frightened creature flees from the source of its fear as best it can. If unable to flee, it may fight. A frightened creature takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. A frightened creature can use special abilities, including spells, to flee; indeed, the creature must use such means if they are the only way to escape."

Sesha frowns, as blood pours from her nose. What was with this woman? She again feels the compulsion to flee, but stands her ground for a more ordered retreat.

**Things Sesha is assuming**

The woman is wearing armor, but has no shield or weapon drawn.
The woman has darkvision of some kind.
The lemure is under the womans control.
That the DM will inform Sesha of magical aura's, apparent with Detect Magic.

Sesha sweeps back 60 feet, still riding her broom. With no weapon drawn, she isn't worried about whether or not the other woman can hit her as she backs away, since she isn't immediately threatened.

Considering the armor, the woman would have to charge her to even make an attack, which meant lowering her defenses, even for a moment. Plus, she was on the roof, of all places. Magic was obviously a thing.

Sesha strains to notice any other important details. Spell component pouch? Is there a displayed holy symbol? A sheathed weapon?

Perception: 28 (18+10, not +20)

Either way, this woman was either human or poly morphed. Sesha would know this fact. She casts dispel magic, targeting any existing visual spell effects . If one does not exist, Sesha figures the dispel magic will hit the highest level spell it can.

Dispel Magic: Dispels the highest in effect spell up to 7th level. (11 + CL. If full Antipaladin that's CL 7. 18 = 1st, 19 = 2nd, 20 = 3rd, 21 = 4th, 22 = 5th, 23 = 6th, 24 = 7th.)

ooc: I'm going to add a 5-foot-step to your actions, since you had just peeked around a corner and couldn't really go backwards 60 feet and still have line of sight. So 5-foot-step, cast your spell, retreat 60 feet.

Your spell hits the human woman and her eyes flash briefly. "Gah!" You see her raise her arms reflexively in a defensive pose as you retreat swiftly to make some room. You hear her speak from down the corridor and around the corner, out of sight, "NOT. COOL. Balthamel! Reinforcements!"

Seconds later you hear two voices, the human woman and a grating, guttural, bellowing voice. They are both chanting words of magic. The human woman finishes her spell fairly quickly, but the dark voice continues chanting.

ooc: So you are 60 feet away, the corner turns north, two casters are casting. I'm going to rule that since you cannot see somatic or material components, you won't be able to identify the spells with Spellcraft based only on verbal components.

Sesha starts her own summoning spell, seeing as she has a little time. The enslaved ghost-priests of the old goddess Serenbeth would do her well, for a turn or two, especially if the Antipaladin had to waste time turning her.

ooc: Please keep in mind, his fiendish servant is treated in all regards as a summon monster spell. This means it may not use any teleportation effects or effects that summon other creatures.

The chanting in hellish tongues stops and you hear the crackle of magic. The woman calls out, "Balthamel! Bun krul gakhzag! Kraak rut udu krith gal kashag! Deznun!" You hear booted feet fade down the stony corridor. The gravely-voiced devil begins barking commands.

Your own spell finishes without difficulty, and you find yourself the proud temporary master of several spirits. You are still 60 feet from the corner.

You peek around the corner again... to see the single lemure standing there, staring forward idiotically. It is alone, and continues barking in its infernal tongue at nothing. It senses you and turns its attention. It is 10 feet away.

The corridor continues another 10 feet beyond the lemure, then jaunts to the east. You can still hear the booted footsteps going down the hallway.

You hear the booted feet come to a halt. Myrth travels down the corridor, turns the corner, and you hear a grunt of frustration from the human woman. Since the ghost is silent, you hear only the scuffling of pebbles and whistling of sword slices to indicate that combat is ensuing.

Myrth moans deeply, as you hear several sword swings cause her pain despite her ghostly state.

Sesha continues, tracking ignoring the Lemure. She know how fast Myrth is, and figure she can catch her in a single move.

Sesha travels 60ft, and even at 8ft up, probably provokes from the Lemure.

The lemure swings an unartful swipe with its claws as you pass overhead.

You move quickly down the corridor and turn the corner. 10 feet ahead is your summoned ghost. The antipaladin stands on the other side of her. The woman holds a longsword that sheds unholy light.

Knowledge Religion: 7 (What happens if I dispel magic the light effect? Will it just come back?)

Sesha is displeased that there is still light available. Understanding that it comes from his sword, she channels her racial ability to call forward a globe of darkness. Darkness is a stronger spell than light, so once more, the woman will be without vision. The 20ft radius is enough to reach the woman.

With her opponent in darkness again, the Ghost strikes.

Ghost: Hits Touch AC 14 for 20 damage. Fort save DC 18 for half.

You call forth a globe of darkness which envelopes the ghost, the antipaladin, and her glowing sword. However, it appears to have little effect on her ability to fight. Myrth strikes the antipaladin, who appears to shrug off the worst of the attack. (Save successful, 10 damage).

The armored woman strikes back, her sword moving far faster than a human should be able to wield. She strikes hard and true, and Myrth is dispelled in a wispy cloud of ether.

She turns and moves quickly away, getting behind a tall stalagmite. (30 feet, total cover)

She maintains her distance, and her height, and focuses a deep slumber spell near the stalactite. The spell is a radius burst, so vision wasn't strictly necessary.

Will Save: DC 10 + 3(3rd Level) + 2(Spell focus and greater spell focus) + 5 (20 wis) = 20 or fall asleep.

Not particularly concerned, Sesha follows, hugging the west side of the wall to prevent getting hit if the woman is waiting around the corner.. She was likely much faster than the Antipaladin, and didn't mind a game of chase. Her flying Broom spell would outlast a haste spell without much problem.

She makes a quick listen to see if she hears the demon following her. (perception, 13)

She follows the woman around the corner, moving only as far as she needs to cast her spell.

(Hold Monster has a 100ft range)

With her foe held in place, Sesha charged. She wasn't worried about retaliation for now. Shaking off the effects would be time consuming.

(I know this seems foolish, but she's saving at a 50% chance or better. By getting close, I can hopefully coup de grace.)

She hopes to, possibly, figure out why this woman is fighting so well in the darkness. Can she see in it, or does it just not hamper her due to training of some sort. Being close will maybe give her an answer.

"Twitch."

Sesha smiles cutely as she says the name.

"Twitch!"

With a chuckle, she wipes the blood off of Stab-stab with the pretty blond hair of the anti-paladin. She was very pretty, even in death. Maybe more so.

She squats down and pats the body on the head, comforting it happily.

"I am jealous of you too, Miss Boop. Or is it Artura? I like "Boop" better, to be honest. It's what you called me when we first met."

She nibbles on her own fingertip for a second.

"It makes sense we would meet like this. You were an anti-paladin. You lived for the joy and fear of combat, and relished the pain and anguish that others around you felt. I'm a rock, a witch of Ga'al. It's my calling to stay solid, and spread the word of submission to his will to others. There's no room for emotion when you live in his tenets."

She beams another smile, and points at her dimples.

"See? I have to try so hard just to even look like I'm alive."

Her eyes darken, and she draws a line through Artura's blood with her pinky finger.

"That's why you all have to die. If I feel nothing.. you feel nothing!"

Standing, she begins to whistle a light tune, and pats the dust and blood off her knees.

"Tribute Twitch! Where might you have gone, you naughty boy?"

Excited, Sesha collects the longsword and puts on the boots. She leaves the armor and the body where they lie for now. She might have a need for them later.

In the mean time, she focuses her attention on an "Arcane Eye" spell. It lasts for 10 minutes, and she plans to use it to scout the rest of the caves. It moves at 100ft per round, so it's pretty fast. She sees through it as she would see, so the darkness won't inhibit it's vision.

Sesha's arcane eye whizzes through the dark corridors. It discovers that Sesha is in the north end of a doughnut of corridors. A small branch goes north just ahead of her, but the branch to the east reveals an exit to back to the outside world (the red X).

Still on her Broom, Sesha raises herself up to sixty feet. She giggles to herself, and lets one hand stray from the broom, pushing against the wind.

"Stop pretending Sesha. It's important to know what you are."

With a sigh, the little witch grabs the broom again, and mumbles to herself.

"I know what I am, dagger. There's no harm in pretending to have fun, even if Ga'al has other plans for me. Besides, I'm not heart-seeded, nor am I a priest. I'm a siphon, a drain that sucks everything Ga'al despises away. I bring things closer to his perfect world. As long as I do that, who cares if I smile once in awhile?"

She waits a moment, but her spirit familiar is silent. Perhaps the blood of the anti-paladin was enough to keep him sated for awhile?

Sesha takes time to look through her surrounding again, looking for details that show a tribute had passed this way.

You rise majestically over the landscape of the gamezone after calling upon the power of the ley lines to give you flight. The wind in your hair is exhilarating as you survey your scene. To the south is grasslands, and surrounding you on the west, east, and north are temperate woodlands. You see no sign of tributes or monsters. Far, far in the distance to the southeast is the thin blue line of a river.

Obviously this stretch of the gamezone, and others like it, were meant for chases. Obviously, chases don't really happen when people are incapacitated by spells then knifed/gored to death. Obviously, there is nothing of interest. Sesha probably thinks she should continue to the river.

"So many lately! It's going to get harder and harder to find people."

She sighs, and continues off after the newly tracked tribute.
