So I had to change my plans. I origionally thought we were all fighting at once, not one on one and then waiting for our next battle. Instead I just modified my Hook CIty career character for this game.

DM Edit: You are all fighting at once. Just because a character loses a match doesn't mean he can't fight in another match at a later time. That's what is posted in the GG. Keyboard is still broken so doing this rather painstakingly from my phone.

Right. I was thinking six men enter, but only one man leaves. You know, after I defeat my opponent I join in another 1 on one match and defeat both of them (cocky aint I). That way if I have a potion that lasts 10 minutes it will hopefully last most of the battle. If I fight my opponent, but then have to wait until a later time for my next match, the odds are my potion wil be spent. I would also design my character differently if thought I might be fighting two on one as opposed to one on one.

In order to be fair to spell casters, there really needs to be at least a day between fight 1 and any subsequent fights.

Well, general practice is that no combatant will be expected to fight again the same day. However, if things were to progress, it could get to where there were special endurance events that only had a 1 hours break between bouts.

But those would be signed up for before hand (ie; character spec'd specifically for that.)

Addison: I love Raamstein, but unless memory fails me, the earliest you could have a rhino animal companion would be level 8 correct? Also, I would remove your links to you character sheets so noone cane prepare for you specifically, just email them to me. You know you have to keep your eyes on the likes of Troy and Cayzle.

"I can beat you one at a time orr all at once," growls this Zeoll, who seems more aggressive and battle-hardened than the Zeolls you may have otherwise known. "Let's make this sporting, and have you all come at me simultaneously!" The liontaur's accent is less pronounced as well.

As far as I can tell, there are no level restrictions for the animal type for a pet. You can have any animal companion at any time... right?

Of course, that just means the winner is more likely to win in the next round, so from a game point of view, not so good. Arguably, the losers should all get more gold in the next round so they'll put up a better fight!

I've been thinking about this.

You could do something where you gain xp for being alive when another person is taken out of the fight. The Xp gained would be based on the total xp of the person taken out.

That way, in subsequent rounds, there is incentive to take out the highest xp person. Win one or two fights, and everyone else in the fight will be gunning for you.

I am against an XP or gold reward for the reasons Zeoll said. I think it should be a double elimination competition. You lose twice your out. Special prizes or Goblin Seals awarded to the last two standing. Extra special prize or goblin seal if you are undefeated. The over all winner should also have their name on a plaque in the Giggling Ghost.

Bosk's character sheet has 1 minor error. It looks like you used a 31 Point buy instead of a 30 The way your stats are allocated though, you will have to more than just take a point away somewhere.. Everything else looks good. I am partial to that type of character myself. Good luck.

Salazaar looks good. You took the build a different direction than I would have thought to. I'm excited to see how it does. Good Luck.

Zeoll has a point buy error as well. In your cost breakdown your Int is off by 3 points and your Wisdom is off by 1. You are currently at a 34 point build. I was about to call you out on bard hp, then I double checked... they get d8 instead of d6. You are right. Everything else is good. Cayzle, you seem very confident in this build. We'll see I guess. Fenton's only has one issue, several of his skills seem about three too high. Please recheck them. I don't want to list which they are but can email them if they look right to you. This could be a very dangerous build. Good Luck.

Sindin's stats are correct in the Total line score, but off by... alot in the original line score. This build may catch a few off guard. Good Luck.

Raamstein was shorted 6 hit points and your forgot to allocate your favored class bonus. Your animal companion will also have to change to one that is on the approved list for a druid of your level. Also, because of the WLA you are over your gear allotment unless you are getting gear from them somehow. If you are, I need you to list what you got from where. If you prefer to use Ponya, I can have her character sheet checked as soon as it is set to level 3. I really like what you are trying to do here, I just hope the loss of a rhino as an animal companion doesn't dissuade you. Good Luck.

Those three points may be the bonus for them being class skills. If there's a star in the far right column its a class skill. I didn't put a +3 there for ease of reading. It's just a convention of mine, I can add the +3 if you'd prefer.

Would that account for the 3 points? I looked over the skills and they seem to be good by my count.

It's dangerous to underestimate Cayzle, he's very good with unusual tactics. I did that once with his Halfling Monk/Cleric/Mendicant in another tap. Never again. He's like the Bean of the Wold.

After stepping through the Mithril Tapestry in the Giggling Ghost, you found yourself in a huge palace. Your were immediately whisked away to your rooms and given all the provisions you needed to make your stay comfortable. After a good night sleep you were fed a breakfast in a very large, exquisite, dining hall. There were hundreds of people in the hall, all of which seemed to be combatants for various portions of the tournament.

At you're table, each of you found a letter with a time and place to meet for your preview of your arena and having a few moments to talk to your match opponents. The lot of you arrive at roughly the same time, and a tournament official is also there to answer any questions you might have.

OOC: None of you are wearing your armor or weapons, and are either in personal clothes, or clothes provided by the Palace. Feel free to try and get a feel for each others, strengths and weakness, as well as strike up conversations and with the other combatants or ask questions of the official about the arena.

Zeoll is a young liontaur, with tendency to grin, or maybe to sneer -- it is hard to tell his grins from his sneers, given the sharp canine teeth that give him his distinctive accent.

"My weaknesses?" he says, as if in response to some inaudible prompting. "My main weakness is that I can only kill thrree of you at a time, so it will take me at least two rrounds to win this thing!" He looks around at his fellow contestants, wondering what he might learn from their race, age, and gender.

OOC to DM: Fabulous map! But it sure could use some coordinates at the top and side so we can identify each square.

Zach: True, I guess I'll try to edit it in map. The program I use is great, but doesn't allow me to do that. I'll work on it.

At 3'2" Salazar is all halfling. He wears simple clothes, provided by their hosts and walks among his opponents. He walks through the arena, noting the good hiding spots and how each place is hidden form other places. He notes the distances from one to another and smiles. He is slightly concerned by the Liontaur, because it is almost big enough to swallow him whole and seems very confident in its abilities.
" Why don't we make this a little more interesting? Who wants to open up the side bets? Maybe a little pool for the last person standing another for the first person eliminated? A bounty on number of people put out by a single contestant? What type of wagers would we like to make?"

The arena is in a large open courtyard. It is obvious that there are multiple other arenas and that each arena can be hanged with little difficulty.

The interior walls are made of stone and mortar and stand 15' tall they are about a foot thick.

The hole room is fairly well lit, after all the audience has to be able to see.

If you were able to climb on top of the wall then, yes you could balance up there. You can "hide" as long as you have broken line of sight, and yes please list spells on your character sheet. Of course you just tipped your hat letting hrm know you can ateast cast som spells. =)

Sindin enters the dining hall. The first thing you notice about the young human is that he is covered from head to toe in what looks to be scales. Closer inspection reveals that it is all a masterfully created tattoo. His clothing completes the look it being embroidered with the same scale pattern as his skin. He notices you staring and smiles showing a mouth full of sharpened teeth. A forked tongue licks over the top row before disappearing back inside his mouth. He sizes each opponent up with a single glance before turning and taking a seat at the table. He drinks a little wine while waiting for the event to start. He seems almost bored and gives you no more notice.

A Liontaur, A boastful Minotaur,someone who fights for the purity of the combat and a tattooed human. What strange opponents thinks Salazar. He takes his time looking over the arena and makes note of how many good hiding places it affords. He is quite happy about that and quietly drinks his wine, mentally tallying who will need to be put down first. Of course it will all depend on proximity, but planning never hurt.

(OOC: Sorry Zach, didn't realize we were starting. Does anyone have any suggestions for what a Druid should spend money on at this level? Cayzle? Ebyron tear of Liontaur bane?)

Raamstein is a medium-sized minotaur with a light chocolaty coat and large ornate black horns curving elegantly to a forward point. Next to him stands a brown Wooly Rhinoceros with an ivory white horn.

They both look confused as they look around in the arena, both of them used to being out in the wilderness at all times.

(OOC to Zach: On page 53, the last paragraph under Animal Choices, it says, "The animal companions listed here are by no means the only ones available- addition animal companion types can be fond in the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary. Some of the special attacks and qualities possessed by animals are covered in more detail there as well."

So, according to the Core Rulebook, which we are using, your pets are not limited to the Core Rulebook, but extend to the bestiary. Whatcha think?)

The following day raced on as bets were placed, and tactics were worked out. You were invited to a fine diner later that night, where only the only diners were the combatants. After diner, each of you were shown to your rooms and told not to leave until the next day when an escort came for you. Just moments all five of you were brought back to the arena.

As you stand in the middle of the ring, having the rules explained to you, you get your first chance to see the other combatants in their combat gear.

As you name and biography is called, you are lead to your respective starting point and allowed to preen for the crowd, or buff for the battle.

OOC: Roll Initiative and any other need checks, such as Sense Motive for each other player. No movement, but you are allowed to buff.

Zeoll wonders what their strategies will be. He takes the opportunity to ask the referees if there are any final instructions. "Aside frrom 'trry not to kill each otherr,' arre therre any otherr rrules? Points for style or number of kills or damage inflicted? Limits on wherre you can go orr what you can do? Is therre a clock? Does time rrun out? When? Will therre be a bell when someone is eliminated? Time-outs while medics rremove bodies?"

He wields a large glave and as he moves he seems to flow from one step to the next. He glances around the arena in an attempt to see his opponents positions before finding the shadows.

You are allowed to fly up to 100ft before being considered out of the arena and disqualified. If you climb over the external walls, same thing. You are all allowed 3 rounds of buffs. If you need to change a feat or equipment do it before the first round of combat.

Edit: forgot to mention, everyone gets 1 hero point for this match.

As the announcer finishes the last name he raises his arms to the crowd. "Until only one remains. Fight!" With that the crowd that has been completely silent until this point erupts, cheering you for some of you, jeering at others.

OOC: Ok here is how it goes. It we will have to post in initiative order unfortunately. It's the only fair way. For the pre-fight buffs, you can make DC 17 Perception checks to be able to hear the spell, then a blanket DC 16 Spellcraft or Knowledge Arcana to know what spell it is... only if you made the perception check as well. Do that, I'll tell you every buff that the other players cast, if it was from scroll, or verbal component. Sorry, no help on potions or non-verbal spells. You can still make Sense Motive Checks to find out information such as class about a specific player.

On the map, I'll be leaving where you are at off the map, and instead using coordinates that will be spoilered. Only if someone has Line of Sigh on you will they be allowed to know your coordinates. Make a perception check every round to look and listen for hidden combatants. If not, I'll just assume you aren't paying attention or looking. Like wise, if you are stealthed, roll a stealth check every round, or I'll assume you are no longer hiding. Lastly, if a spoiler doesn't have your name on it... PLEASE don't read it. I know you are all trustworthy, but it will just make this less fun for everyone if you do. If you can read it, it will have your name on it somewhere. =)

By the way, here's what I did that Zach is talking about, I think. I copied all the rolls in my die roller field and pasted them with annotations in a spoiler. For example:

Salazar, being extremely sneak moves south from his starting position. Keeping his eyes and ears open he stops and waits to see someone. However someone else is doing the same thing and being a little sneakier and paying a little better attention. An arrow flies dangerously close to your shoulder, glancing off of your leather armor. You know, had you not been tiny, you would have been shishkibobbed. You now see your opponent. Salazar ONLY Highlight to display spoiler: {You see Fenton at V,12. Unfortunately he sees you.}

Sindin hears the twang of a bow and what sounds like the arrow deflecting off of armor to his far East and slightly North. Your phenomenal hearing tells you it came from around U-X, 10-14 He continues to wait for someone to come into view. You also think you hear something coming from the far southeast corner of the arena.

Bosk gets into position and waits on his enemies to come into view. So far he neither sees or hears anything of interest. I need Bosk to roll perception checks and post them each round.

Fenton - As you move West of your starting position, you look South then, North. As you look North you barely catch the glimpse of a tiny, yes tiny, halfling. Your let your arrow fly, and had he been small and not tiny you would have skewered him good. As it stands your arrow glance off of the shoulder of his armor. Fenton ONLY Highlight to display spoiler: {You see Salazar at W,11.}

Zeoll like wise hears the twang of a bow directly to his north. From his vantage point, he thinks he sees movement but it is hard to be sure. It is coming from roughly U-X, 10-14.

Everyone hears the crowd do a cheering gasp, that dies to disappoint, almost like they thought something was about to happen and then were disappointed.

We will not reroll initiative. We will reroll Stealth and Perception rolls every round. Also, please put all pertinent information in a spoiler for me. Something like:

The Blond Minotaur waits patiently in the labyrinth, waiting for his prey to come to him. After having fought many battles, he has learned that charging I the surest way to draw everyone's attention to him. Yes, waiting is they key. This way I can hopefully pick them off one by one. Yes Sir...nothing to do now but wait. The fighter stays hunkered down and waits for someone to come close, but boredom is already setting in. Deep down he knows if nobody comes his way soon that he will probably charge to the first sign of combat that he hears. He was never known for his patients.

The real story for the DM Only! Please Highlight to display spoiler: {Zeoll starts the round at W-X-23-24, perched 15 feet up on top of the wall. This round he casts an Elf Vision spell from a scroll to boost his perception. With the Heroism, that's up to 7+4=+11. Then he moves 50 feet (fly speed) to the top of the wall at M-N-23-24. He does not try to hide while he flies because he has nothing to hide behind. At the top of the wall, though, he tries to hide, using the wall itself as his cover. His Hide check is -8, same as last round. He gets a 10 to hide! Sweet! He looks around there and tries to perceive his competitors. Perception checks from M-N-23-24 are 13, 31, and 20.}

Public stuff: Zeoll casts a spell from a scroll. If you make a Perception DC17 and a Spellcraft DC16, then Highlight to display spoiler: {Zeoll casts Elf Vision}.

Salazar is able to Fatigue Fenton and able to hide very well as Fenton runs around the corner to the north, screaming like a little girl. You no longer see anyone or hear anyone on the map.

Sindin creeps towards the middle of the ring and sees Bosk before Bosk sees him. He unleashes his fire breath on Bosk (roll your attack and damage for that). Bosk can now see you, although he could only hear you before. You are now standing at: Sindin ONLY Highlight to display spoiler: {E,16} as that was where you were first able to see and attack Bosk from. Bosk runs towards you and attacks. You take your attack of opportunity but miss badly. Sindin Only Highlight to display spoiler: {Bosk is now at D,E,14,15}

Bosk you hear what sound like footsteps coming from the southeast of you when all of a sudden, fire engulfs you. Once the flames die down, you see Sindin, standing there. You move to attack and as you get into range of his reach weapon he swings at you, missing wildly. You attack him and miss as well. You are now standing at Bosk ONLY Highlight to display spoiler: {D,E, 14,15 while Sindin is at E,16}.

Fenton is fatigue by Salazaar and begins screaming like a girl, much to the enjoyment of the crowd. Also much to the enjoyment of the other participants as now they can home in on where you were screaming, which was roughly V,W,11,12. You break line of sight and hide from all of the combatants as you run around the corner to Highlight to display spoiler: {V,7}

Zeoll somehow remains hidden to everyone except the crowd as he moves to his new perch This is mostly due to the 15ft walls, and the flame blast that prevents Bosk from seeing you. Good timing too, because as he lands he sees a big line of fire followed by two combatants, Bosk and Sindin trading ineffective blows at Zeoll ONLY Highlight to display spoiler: {Bosk at D,E,14,15 and Sindin at E,16}.

Everyone please remember, if you don't list a a stealth check, I assume you aren't stealthed. If you don't roll a perception, you don't get a chance to see stealthed enemies. If you make a held action and specify that you attack, I will make you attack if those conditions are met, whether it provokes an AoO or not. Unless of course you specifiy, that if it provokes an AoO you don't want to attack. Also, if you have readied actions to attack, roll the attacks and damage before hand. Same for AoO's.

Don't worry, things are going smoother than I anticipated, just takes a lot of work cross referencing all the posts. If I miss something, let me know. It won't hurt my feelings. FYI I have a map that I update you movements on every round. I will just keep posting the base map for you all. You know where you are and where who you can see is. You don't need more than that right?

Quickly dodging the attack of the Minotaur Sindin strikes out with a round house kick to the midsection followed by a knee strike to his lower thigh. The sheer size of his opponent throws him off and his strikes are ineffective. He than opens his mouth as another gout of fire engulfs his opponent.

Clarification for DM and Sinin only
Highlight to display spoiler: {Since there was a wall blocking most of the space between Sindin and myself when he used the fire breath, I believe I should have both Cover and concealment. If i am correct Sindin has a 20% miss chance. I also believe (but could be wrong) that the spell isn't an instant hit. I have always thought it was a ranged touch attack, just like the scorching ray spell used to craft the elixir of fire breath.}

For DM and Bosk Highlight to display spoiler: { Its from a potion it does not say anything about making a ranged attack, normally when you have to make a ranged or melee attack than the target does not get a save. It does not say in the item description what kind of action it is, figured it was an at will kind of thing. If no take the second fire breath away.}

Thee Flurry of Blows description says: A monk cannot use any weapon other than an unarmed strike or a special monk weapon as part of a flurry of blows. A monk with natural weapons cannot use such weapons as part of a flurry of blows, nor can he make natural attacks in addition to his flurry of blows attacks. If you can't use a natural weapon I would think you can't use fire breath.

Also, using a special ability is usually considered a standard action and cannot be used with a full-action.

If the fire hits Bosk takes full damage on 1 and half on the second. The spell used against him is negated. He then attacks Sindin.

To the DM Only: Highlight to display spoiler: {Zeoll casts Message on Bosk. The spell allows no save, so I think it has to affect him. In Tauric, he whispers, "Hey brother taur, this is Zeoll. Want some help? I propose an alliance until only we two are left. Interested? I am to the south of you." Zeoll then moves to 18-19-D-E, just south of them, dropping five feet in altitude so that he is just peeking over the wall. As he moves, he looses his shield. He hides there with just his head poking out. Hide check with no cover bonus and no shield penalty: His untrained stealth is base +0, -1 armor, -4 size, +2 race, +2 dex, +2 heroism = 10, plus any bonuses for only peeking his head over the wall. Zeoll's own perception checks: 23, 13, 15.}

Salazar is able to keep harassing his prey. He stops short of his desried destination Salazar and Fenton Only Highlight to display spoiler: {Because you used the spell and can't move cast move, you move until you were you nearly lost line of sight. You are now at R,6.} Your spell hits its target, illuminating your target for a moment.

Sindin essentially barbeques Bosk, doing 16 points of fire damage last round yet unleashes an extremely uneffective barrage of attacks this round.

Bosk unleashes a powerful attack that does some serious damage to Sindin (14 points of damage). Bosk hears a voice in his head, Bosk and Zeoll Only Highlight to display spoiler: {In Tauric you hear the voice of Zeoll saying, "Hey brother taur, this is Zeoll. Want some help? I propose an alliance until only we two are left. Interested? I am to the south of you." }

Fenton gets hit by a spell out of no where, and must make a Fenton Only Highlight to display spoiler: {DC 11 Fort save or be dazzled.}

Zeoll casts a spell of his own and then hides where he is unseen as other as very pre-occuppied at the moment.

Not believing his luck to have followed up in the right direction when he couldn't see a thing, Salazar presses on. To hit Bosk you had to attack through C,14 which has a wall running through most of it. (This only applies to the first flame attack since Bosk moved away from the wall before the second attack.

When making a melee attack against an adjacent target, your target has cover if any line from any corner of your square to the target's square goes through a wall (including a low wall). When making a melee attack against a target that isn't adjacent to you(such as with a reach weapon), use the rules for determining cover from ranged attacks.

To determine if someone has cover from your ranged attack, choose a corner of your square. If any line from this corner to any corner of the target's square passes through a square or border that blocks line of effect or provides cover, or through a square occupied by a creature, the target has cover (+4 to AC).

Cover and Reflex Saves: Cover grants you a +2 bonus on Reflex saves against attacks that originate or burst out from a point on the other side of the cover from you. Note that spread effects can extend around corners and thus negate this cover bonus.

So, fixing my errors from the last round.

Bosk, you take the full 16 from the first attack, as Sindin had line of sight, and the wall didn't extend far enough to grant cover. After all, for cover it states: Cover grants you a +2 bonus on Reflex saves against attacks that originate or burst out from a point on the other side of the cover from you. Note that spread effects can extend around corners and thus negate this cover bonus. I read that and think, it didn't originate from a point on the other side, it came at an angle and still had a direct line to your body. No +2 to the save. That said, you do not get hit at all by the second one because, it never actually happened. Sindin used FoB which is a full round action, only free actions could have also been taken. Also, your attack confirm the critical with a 25. As I was posting from my phone, I confused the 14 damage, with the to to hit confirm and thought the 25 was the crit damage. Again, my fault. As it stands, you confirmed and did 29 points of damage to Sindin.

Sindin, you did 16 points of damage to Bosk last round, but because you used your Flurry of Blows, a full round action, you cannot make another attack with a special ability unless it is a free action, which it does not appear to be. Seems more like a standard action. Also, I made an error on my phone. You actually take 29 points of damage from Bosk's attack instead of 14.

Also, unless you make a sense motive roll, you will not know someone's ac. By hitting their AC, you know that at least such and such hits. But you don't know how much you hit it by, and at what point you would miss.

Again sorry about that confusion. I promise, once I don't have to post from my phone (hopefully next week) a majority of the time, I'll make much better posts.

I will advance this round when everyone posts their actions. Again. I apologize.

The crowd goes wild as the first combatant falls. Cheers erupt from the people who obviously had large sums of money on the large, well armed, well armored minotaur. They cheer even more when said large minotaur strikes the downed half-elf again. Apparently they were felt the half-elf had no chance against such a foe. Bosk is certainly the early favorite, but will he have the staying power.

Laughs are coming from the other side of the arena as the tiny halfling is lighting up his opponent, who is running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

Many eye the Lion curiously as he slinks around the arena drawing no attention from the other combatants. Rather effective method so far.

Salazar hits Fenton with a spell Perception DC 16 and Spellcraft 17 Highlight to display spoiler: {Ray of Frost for 2 damage} before slinking into the shadows. Sindin Only Highlight to display spoiler: {You made it to J,1 slinking into the shadows before you hear Bosk roughly South West of you. You can't see him yet.}

Sindin is laying on the ground cut, bruised, unconscious after taking a vicious blow from Bosk who deals 17 points of non-lethal damage and, unless something happens to change his status... out of the fight. (Good effort!!! But the rolls just didn't go your way.)

Bosk sees Sindin bleeding and unconscious on the ground but decides he is still possibly a threat. Bosk decides hit Sindin one more time just to be certain, he is out cold, dealing 17 points of non lethal damage. to make haste towards the caster he last heard at Bosk Only Highlight to display spoiler: {roughly M,N,4,5 but he could have moved by now. You do not see or here him at the moment You make it to E,F,8,9.}

Fenton gets hit bay a cold ray (taking 2 points of damage) as he makes it out of sight (and range) of the troublesome tiny halfling. You no longer see, nor hear anyone, but you think they can no longer see nor hear you. Fenton OnlyHighlight to display spoiler: {You make it to R,1 and climb the wall with only a little difficulty.}

Having lost track of Fenton and hearing a large armored figure nearby, Salazar hunkers down and hides, waiting to see what develops. As a move action, he sneaks along the wall, floating to 10-11-E-F (taking cover or partial cover if he can), trying to make it seem as if he is clinging to the wall or spider climbing, all the while being watchful and sneaky. Untrained Stealth at +3 with heroism is a 5. Bluff check to seem like he is spider climbing: 25. Perception check: 15. Sense Motive: 17. Zeoll gets out his bow as he moves, and then readies a shot, triggered if he sees anyone at all besides Bosk, or even Bosk if the taur gets within 15 feet. Salazar remains in place, waiting for some to appear, waiting to cast a spell. In what is just a matter of seconds, he sees horns slowly peak around the corner. Without waiting to see more, he begins casting a spell, as he had been waiting for this moment. As the horns continue around the corner, he sees the head of Bosk, his eyes growing wide as he sees the tiny halfling casting a spell. Bosk tucks back around the corner, but the spell is cast and finds its home. But did it work? Salazar OnlyHighlight to display spoiler: {Your scroll goes of and command Bosk to defend you. It will take a few seconds to find out if the spell is effective or not.You saw Bosk peek his head and then disappear around the corner at F,G,3,4}

Bosk pokes his head around the corner and sees Salazar casting a spell, which he feels hit him full force as he ducks back around the corner. Salazar feels the magic take effect and wonders if the Minotaur was strong enough to resist it or not. He chooses not to wait around to find out. If the spell worked, great, if not he still has two more opponents who have heard him casting. He takes off trying to distance himself from his spellcasting.

If my cmb beats his cmd I should be able to push him 5 feet anf off the wall. For every 5 my cmb beats his cmd by I should be able to push him an additional 5 feet. I am a tall creature and an 10 feet talk and can reach 16 feet up, so I can reach him on the wall. I attached the rules below for bull rush and repositioning. This should only require a cmb.

He pushes Fenton with his large hands knocking him right over the edge of the wall and out of the arena. The crowd is quite obviously stunned, as is Fenton. However, according to the rules, Fenton is disqualified. Half of the crowd is cheering at the clever DQ, yet the other half is booing, outraged at the underhanded tactic.}

Fluff / filler:
As Bosk watches Salazar fall off the wall, he feels a little sad. He had hoped for an honest hand to hand fight, and all this sneaking around seems dishonorable. Under normal circumstances, he would never throw an opponent out of the ring, but an honorable opponent wouldn't hide on a wall, out of the reach of most, and attack from a distance. Oh well, two down and two to go.

Bosk gives a few quick poses for the crows before returning his attention to the competition.

Greetings all... it appears I made a bad call earlier in the match. The spell that was cast at Bosk that he failed the same on should have made him perceive Salazar as an ally but not understand the command he was given. That being said, apparently Bosk has no reason to attack Salazar, unless he is/has been provoked.

It's obvious I have made some mistakes here. Consider them growing pains. Also, consider when I have DM'ed before and an issue comes up, I can sit at the table, talk ask questions, and get a consensus. I haven't been able to do that here. Again, please bear with me, and if you have a question, or concern, voice it ASAP.

Feel free to adjust Round 10 posts to account for this adjustment. Sigh. Sorry again.

Ok, very rough weekend but things are back to normal. So, this is what happened. I made a mistake, then corrected it, but for the wrong reasons, then change back to the wrong answer, for the wrong reason, now I am certain after breaking down every little nuance of the spell, I have this right. So, I'll explain what happened. Why it happened, etc.

Charm Person

CASTING

Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
EFFECT

Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target one humanoid creature
Duration 1 hour/level
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes

This charm makes a humanoid creature regard you as its trusted friend and ally (treat the target's attitude as friendly). If the creature is currently being threatened or attacked by you or your allies, however, it receives a +5 bonus on its saving throw.

The spell does not enable you to control the charmed person as if it were an automaton, but it perceives your words and actions in the most favorable way. You can try to give the subject orders, but you must win an opposed Charisma check to convince it to do anything it wouldn't ordinarily do. (Retries are not allowed.) An affected creature never obeys suicidal or obviously harmful orders, but it might be convinced that something very dangerous is worth doing. Any act by you or your apparent allies that threatens the charmed person breaks the spell. You must speak the person's language to communicate your commands, or else be good at pantomiming.

So here is what we are dealing with....

One person casts a spell in common, the other only speaks Taur. The spell can still effect the other person. Now, he can not understand the commands issued, but he can be affected by the spell to consider the caster an ally.

The target of spell initially fails his save, however, what was not considered, was the fact that per the spell description, since the target and the caster were hostile, the target receives a +5 bonus to his save. Which is enough to pass his save. Therefore, The spell that was cast has no effect. Now, starting over at round 10.

As I had not attacked Bosk or even been visible to him I am considered hostile just because we are in an arena? Ok, but that's not how I would see it.
This fight will have to end eventually and I am now faced with 2 opponents constantly in LOS of each other and ignoring each other to find me so what the heck, I leave my post as is, lets finish it. I'll need to rely on my AC to win.

Zeoll has 27 hp and is unwounded. He is AC21 with his shield. He is currently 60-70 ft off the ground.

Zeoll has used a potion of Fly, a potion of Eagle's Slpendor, a scroll of Elf Vision, and a scroll of Heroism. He has also cast a message cantrip.

Zeoll's will save is +3 bard, +1 wisdom, +1 from his cloak, and +2 from his heroism spell, That's a total +7. I wish I knew the save DC. Anyway, rolling that save gives a 9 -- that is surely a failure. Zeoll will use his hero point for a reroll. a 15 ... better, but is it good enough? We'll see.

After Salazar casts his spell on Zeoll, which seems to have no effect, Salazar realizes he is visible to the other two as Bosk charges in, catching the smaller halfling in his large hands. (CMB 30 Beats Salazar's CMD).

As the two are locked together, Zeoll casts a spell on both Bosk and Salazar. Bosk is unable to tell what spell is cast.

Salazar is now under the following effects. Highlight to display spoiler: {becomes drowsy and inattentive, taking a -5 penalty on Perception checks and a -2 penalty on Will saves against sleep effects}

So, special attacks like that ignore AC entirely eh? I looked them up and it certainly seems that way.

Salazar waits limply in Bosk's hands. It is clear the tiny halfling can do nothing against the minotaur, now that the Taur has a grip on him. He waits to see how the 'alliance' between the 2 taurs goes, since Bosk has a still dangerous if released foe in his hands and the Liontaur has already cast the spell that will prep both of them for slumber. He doesn't concede. Not yet. The Liontaur may still take out his ally first instead of finishing Salazar.

Salazar is screwed. even if I roll 2 20's and add them together I can't escape or cast a spell . I am flabbergasted that the special attacks do not require an attack roll vs AC to initiate like they did in 3.5 . For all of the AC I got from being small and fast I am no match CMD wise for someone who is large and strong, other than the idea that they couldn't hit my AC in the first place to start the attack. Rereading the rules to calculate CMB and CMD mine was a little off but I don't think it was enough to matter.
Congratulations on finding a really good way around the common Attack vs AC rule. You did the work for it . Good Luck vs Cayzle 8).

OOC: I cast a spell on Salazar? What happened with that?

By the way, did Bosk save vs the Lullaby? Moot of course since the duration is Concentration, and Concentration ends when Zeoll casts the spell on Salazar. See, I told you it was harmless to the minotaur.

What are the coordinates of this grapple?

Zeoll is like, what, 70 ft up in the air at this point, I think? Everyone knows now that he is flying, right? Good old Fly potion.

Salazar Just an FYI. It is moot now, but Bosk didn't fully trust Zeoll. For a while Zeoll wasn't doing much to help. He wasn't providing backup, spells, or locations (and I don't read other's spoilers). He was protecting himself a lot of the time. The spell he cast wasn't helping Bosk's confidence either. Had your sleep spell worked, and Zeoll not been able to relay your location, things may have gone differently. Bosk is proud and full of honor and normally wouldn't break an agreement, but being used in a one sided "alliance" doesn't sit well with a proud character.

Move will come in a bit. I am out of town and having issues opening my C.S.

Bosk continues to maintain his grapple. As Salazar goes limp Bosk drives his horn deep into the tiny man's chest. He feels bad that the man seems to have given up, but also doesn't trust the tiny guy not to be trying to lure him into a trap. If he withdraws the minotaur will let him leave. If not...

Clearly he didn't trust him since we were all 'hostile' per my casting of charm. Had my sleep spell worked he would have fallen 50+ feet and would be easy pickin's for either of us. Sadly I didn't think to raise my casting stats with potions so my spell saves were low. Live and learn. Also giving up is all I have since I can't break the grapple, escape artist out of it or make the concentration check to cast, so I am pretty much done. My only hope is Cayzle does you in before you do me 8).
BTW Cayzle, 2 actions in a row won't work. Sure you have held most of your actions all through the fight, but you don't get 2 spells at a time for it. Your spell would resolve after I choose to do nothing this round so just wait for it.

Sorry, I kind of have lost track of what round it is. Did not mean to jump the gun. The lullaby goes off during the round that Bosk first grapples Salazar. I guess I have not cast my Sleep yet. My apologies.

So did Bosk save vs Lullaby? ;-)

Yeah, I pumped up my Chr, added lesser and greater spell focus as feats, and drank a potion of eagle's splen to really get those save DCs through the roof. Since everybody has a hero point, I figured that was necessary.

If I had slept, not sure I would have fallen rather than floated. Though that would have woken me up, I suppose! :-)

Salazar struggles against the large Taur but isn't able to break free. Bosk then gores Salazar forHighlight to display spoiler: {13 Damage.}

Bosk is able to maintain his grip on the halfling and inflict damage. Highlight to display spoiler: { You are effected by the lullaby spell but only if you are hit with the sleep spell in this coming round.}

Zeoll sees Bosk at H,I,14,15 and in his grip is Salazar at I,15. I am going to assume you cast sleep? If so, spoiler me the DC.

Bosk, Salazar go ahead and make a Will Save.

I'm so confused! The round that Bosk and Salazar FIRST grapple is the round Zeoll casts Lullaby. Because Zeoll has the last init, be casts after Bosk and Salazar act. I know Salazar failed vs the Lullaby. I'd like to know if Bosk did. The will save DC for the Lullaby is 19.

The NEXT round, after another round of grappling and actions from both Bosk and Salazar, Zeoll will cast Sleep on Salazar unless he is out of the competition. If he is out, Zeoll will cast it on Bosk. The Will save DC is 20, and there is a -2 penalty if you were affected by the Lullaby the round before.

It was an area of effect spell, so it hit both.

As to whether or not he made the save, I don't think you would be able to tell whether or not he made his save.

Last round was round 10. I posted my actions for it, so did Bosk. The DM labeled it as the second round 9.

Salazar looks at the massive minotaur, crushing and goring the life from him. It doesn't look like the brute is going to stop so Salazar holds up his hands and shouts" I surrender!!". Salazar hopes to live even if he can't win.

Meh, why draw it out? Salazar has bowed out. Bosk may or may not be sleepy feeling. "It is for this that I planned," says Zeoll. The liontaur directs his Sleep spell at the Minotaur. DC20 will save, at -2 if the Lullaby is in effect.

Bosk's Herald calls out to the audiance, "The cat can put people to sleep, but does he have courage enough to face even a sleeping minotaur? My master said he will fight to the death, and the way I see it, a warrior would have trouble getting to my master, let alone kill him in under 2 rounds, and I doubt this cat could get through his armor before Bosk awakes. My master does not withdraw. He FIGHTS!"

(I want to see this to the end. It is not in Bosk's nature to withdraw, and a minotaur doesn't, can't, and won't concede to a liontaur.)

[OOC: Don't understand the reference to "2 rounds" -- I got two minutes duration, not two rounds.]

Round 11: Zeoll spends one round flying down next to Bosk. As he approaches, he watches for any sign that Bosk is not asleep, He also watches to make sure that Salazar is leaving the contest. Perception 17, Untrained Sense Motive 5.

Round 12: Hovering 15 feet up, Zeoll gets out a rope. He takes the rest of the round to observe. Perception 26, Untrained Sense Motive 6.

Round 13: If Bosk is sleeping, he is helpless, and if he is helpless, I'm pretty sure Zeoll can use the Tie Up action:

Tie Up: If you have your target pinned, otherwise restrained, or unconscious, you can use rope to tie him up. This works like a pin effect, but the DC to escape the bonds is equal to 20 + your Combat Maneuver Bonus (instead of your CMD). The ropes do not need to make a check every round to maintain the pin. If you are grappling the target, you can attempt to tie him up in ropes, but doing so requires a combat maneuver check at a --10 penalty. If the DC to escape from these bindings is higher than 20 + the target's CMB, the target cannot escape from the bonds, even with a natural 20 on the check.

Zeoll has 27 hp and is unwounded. He has a potion of Fly, a potion of Eagle's Splendor, a scroll of Elf Vision, and a scroll of Heroism active. He has also cast a message cantrip and a sleep spell of course.

I thought sleep had a shorter duration or multiple saves. I was going to hope you failed a coup de grace, and I have a +9 strength modifier and high cmb. That said, I won't drag this out forever. If Zeoll didn't somehow wake Bosk up, I'll be happy with beating 3 of the 4 opponents.

P.S. Bosk had a 100 foot rope (when enlarged) tied into a lasso...had I stayed awake, it could have been useful.

The crowd is in an uproar. It's is obvious they were expecting more of a blood bath. The announcer declares Zeoll the winner and begins listing the contestants for the next round.

OOC: Sorry for how that ran. It should have gone smoother, but hey, lessons learned right. I'll get some Seals worked up and sent to you guys soon.
