OOC: Okay everyone. This is it. I think this game needs more stability, so I have to back out of it.

Justin has said he'll send me the module but hasn't. I know it fried with his other computer and I understand that, but he's had time to rewrite it. It seems that there is no real direction.
Four players isn't really enough.

I will be happy to return when things get straightened out.

I'm not upset, I just think we all could use a break.

ok, so this is around game 35 of justin's that I've been in that has stopped.

Thursday October 13th, 2005 6:56:26 AM

Its up to Justin whether it stops. I simply don't want to spend time on watching a game that goes nowhere. :( Sorry.

Thursday October 13th, 2005 8:15:45 AM

Sir Henri will stay until the DM Justim sat that it's the end. The paladin has been in this game for only a year and a half. Dm Justin promes us about two to three years worth of story, until then I stay.

Justin always stays silent when one of his games is dying, even if he is starting other games at the same time he doesnt talk about the dying one. When he started mithral tap i was in 4 other games of his at playbyweb.

Loretta, its awesome that your so loyal to Justin. But I don't understand why you continue to play games you already realize are doomed to 'die'.

I like his ideas and in fact have offered to take this game from him on rough weeks, like this week. His grandma is going to a facility and its tough on them (Jim and Justin). If I had the module, I'd be running this game in his absence. In fact, I like this world alot. How many worlds allow fey as playable characters?! :)

I'll keep popping in to see what sort of stuff is happening. I am, after all, his ADM.

I have a world of my own in developement, but its far from ready. Truth be told, I don't like running games, I prefer playing them.

If Justin focused all his creativity on one world, he could be a great DM and world builder. :)

I have to agree with the both of you, but I didn't know that you Jay was his ADM. He should have sent you the story line.

I had both Brothers as DMFor about a year and I learnd alot form the both of them. I must give them credit, they do have a imagination. But when problems come their way, they could ask for help. They should know how many friends they have in this Wold.

Justin Webber (DM)
Saturday October 15th, 2005 8:38:37 PM

Whoa, sorry here guys, something have been getting out of hand here lately but it looks like everything is starting to clear up. As some of you may know my grandma has been diagnosed with Dimentia and following it will be the real bad one. we been working on getting some stuff out of her home and getting her ready to be moved into a nursing home. This has been abit of a trial to say the least for most of us and even worse when other family members are doing their best to be the biggest pain in the butt or no help what so ever in the mess. I really do thank you all for hanging in there in this game and attached to this will be a moving on part to the game and Ceil or Daniel, would it be possible for you to contact Jay and get him to come to this board atleast so I may speak to him about continuing on and giving the game one last chance?

Jay: If you happen to check this board yet then I am very sorry and only hope you can understand how hard this time has been with the rl issues going on that have been. I do hope you will try and give the game one last chance and I been trying to get this module wrapped up so the new one we both will have a copy of.

Player wise. I was told sometime back by Namfoodle that he would need to exit the game till he found a place to live and such, evidently some rl matters had hit him also that would cause him to stop posting in the game for alittle while. I will be however putting a post up on the board for extra players and please be sure that my character (Mykell) and my brother's character Tyal will be continuing when the game is moving. Thank you all once more.
------------------------------------------------
The battle in the temple area of the fort is now over and the group goes about looking over their wounds and such.

The young dwarf who had gave the report earlier also comes into the room now followed by a older dwarf who looks each of you over and pulls a wand before speaking up, "It looks like some of you are hurt. Please come over here and I will see to healing you before you move on."

The younger dwarf looks to everyone and pops a salute really quick before speaking, "Sirs and ladies, with this room clear that takes care of all the rooms but the wird portal. When you are all ready you should check that and then this place should be completely cleared. We have also readied a long rope for you to drop down into the portal and which we will attach to one of the statues near it for you to climb back up if you need."

The older dwarf nods and motions to the wall to small class covered indentations in the wall no bigger then a arrow point hole, "We been examining these along with some of the craftsmanship of this place and as far as we can tell these look like some type of light source but we do not know how they work for sure yet. One of the elves is looking into it also and says he thinks that there might be some type of magic device to light them up."

Sir Henri
Sunday October 16th, 2005 7:51:16 AM

The paladin look and listen very cafully, releaved the the worst is over or is it??
He'll go over to the wall, exames it, and sure enought there in the wall are those glass pin holes. and tell all "By The Lord of the SUN, this mystery is getting deeper all the time??"

Monday October 17th, 2005 12:54:03 AM

Justin, if you had read my previous post here, I said I understand your situation. Remember, my dad had his motorcycle wreck this last month and has brain damage now. So...

What I was saying is if I had your module, an idea of where you wanted the game to go and some sort of clear story, I could be picking up your slack right now with no problem and with little damage to the game.

I have given you, players and the game a chance Justin, as a friend, ADM, and player. The game has fluxuated so much in the past year, that I'm suprised its lasted this long.

Loretta/Fern
Monday October 17th, 2005 2:43:28 PM

Jay the reason I keep playing Justin's games is that he's such a great dm and lets us play with noncore stuff. Most playbyweb games die out anyways and I usually need more games than just wold ones.

Fern stretches as the dwarves come in and goes over to be healed (if she needs it). Then says "Lets get geared up and go through that hole. We'll need our weapons, need to identify those magical items we found, lets take lots of rope, enough food to last us a while. We need to find out if our animal friends will come in the castle now, I dont want to leave Huur behind. We also need a plan for if that hole closes after us..." Fern heads back towards the main area talking about what they should do.

Hart
Monday October 17th, 2005 11:48:56 PM

OOC: Sigh>!!

Hart stands by and waits for action. He plays his pipes.

Hart
Tuesday October 18th, 2005 1:16:40 AM

The satyr continues to play his pipes and looks on sceptically.

Sir Henri
Tuesday October 18th, 2005 7:33:44 AM

Sir Henri answers Fern, "Hmmm! your right! Go tend to your Animals. See that they have plenty of water and food to eat. As for me
, I'll send my horse back to his relm.
Now to find rope??"

As Henri goes on a rope serch, he pats Hart on the head as he passes by, "I like you tune!" The paladin tell him.

Marek Isentomb
Tuesday October 18th, 2005 2:30:26 PM

Marek intercepts Sir Henri, "We can probably get all we need from the company of dwarves. Let's hit them for the extended stay type supplies." Assuming the paladin is agreeable, Marek heads to the dwarven cache. Upon arrival he thunders out some orders.

"Listen Up! We are going to hit the portal tomorrow morning and are going to be taking a descent hunk of supplies. I want ready and assembled for transport, 5 tents, 5-50' coils of rope with hook, 20 man days of food and water, a pair of lanterns, 10 pints oil and 2 days worth of firewood." as the group stands there taking it all in "Let's go! Lets move!"

The fighter then walks towards the supply cache and begins going through it as well.

Hart
Tuesday October 18th, 2005 6:43:58 PM

Hart looks at Henri. "I'm no common goat. Do not pat me like one!" He snorts. It seems the satyr may be reverting to his former gruff exterior.

Sir Henri
Wednesday October 19th, 2005 8:05:34 PM

Henri listens to the rebuff of the little Sytar, then follows Marek down the hall. "Ahh! Everything is back to nornal!"

Justin Webber (DM) Moving on
Wednesday October 19th, 2005 10:05:58 PM

(OOC:Jay, sorry I misread your comment before and everyone I'm sorry for not moving on the game sooner today but the Wold site was down for some time. Yesterday I also went in to have abit of blood work done which left me abit tired and I fell to sleep earlier. Jay, as soon as the current module is over which I'm running from memory I will have to send in a new one to Jerry which you will get a copy of also I promise. I also if I haven't said it before very sorry to hear about your dad Jay and me and my family pray for you and him.)

(Game note to everyone: It looks like my brother might be leaving as Tyal and could be returning as a different character or something. Tyal just wasn't working out like he wanted from what he said. After we get the game posting abit more steady I will see about getting our 8th person in and try to keep the game at 8 players.)

Marek brings up orders about heading into the portal tomorrow and some other being going about checking on their animal companions and such and some abit worried about the portal.

At camp (where you all camping for sure or holding up for the night, inside or outside the fort?) a elderly elf man walks up and sits down near to the group, he has some papers that he has been making notes on and still is before speaking up, "I been studying the portal and I believe the magic being used to make it is much like a dimension pocket spell. I would venture a quess that it is a place that was not to be found easily or something of that nature. My scrying though has brought up little more details so going in will be the only sure fire way."

At the camp also the old elf looks to Fern and rubs his hands together abit before speaking again, his bright but old eyes, "I will look over the items for you all but mind you I will still need to charge you all. I mean I will need money when the fort is up and running to open a identifying shop and also a small lab and such. I figure you will want some shops here to help you out and we will make money to help you all with the upkeep of the place."

Hart
Thursday October 20th, 2005 3:32:27 AM

He growls at Henri.

Sir Henri
Thursday October 20th, 2005 8:14:01 AM

The paladin look at the Old Elf, "I say that we open up the Chapel first, Then we open the shop. I'd rather pray then spend!"
Henri lifts the sytar's hat looking for his little fae.

Marek Isentomb
Thursday October 20th, 2005 2:46:05 PM

Marek listens to the elf, " Dimensional Pocket eh? How big can these pockets be? Sounds like we might not need so much supplies."

Justin Webber (DM) Camp
Thursday October 20th, 2005 11:49:55 PM

(OOC:Hope I haven't offended you Jay by anything I had said. Was worried something I said previously might of hit a nerve when I didn't mean it to. Loretta please try posting everyday also. I need to know who is here yet and that will be much easier with everyone posting once again that is still in. Thanks everyone for your support.)

Mykell shrugs while listening to the comments made but does perk up some when he hears about the dimesional pocket room and listens to what is said while chewing on some of his rations. This next part he is wonder if it will be as much of a struggle or just exploration mainly.
------------------------------------------------
The old elf shrugs and looks to Marek before pulling out a smaller spellbook of his own and begins flipping through the pages till he finds a certain page he is looking for, "Well you see here, it is said that this spell has been known to be modified to be as large as small rooms clear up to a place where a whole city or castle can be put so it is very hard to find. The fact that there is a portal and it was hidden let alone not giving off any evil or other magical auras tells me that the portal leads to nothing evil or another plane of existence but I do believe it leads to some type of room or series of rooms but not going in of course I have no idea. It is quite interesting you see, I have never ran into this spell used in this way before but have of course heard and researched it myself."

The old elf looks like he could quite literally talk all night about this magic or almost any other magic as he flips through his small spell book and points out a few various connecting spells to the dimension pocket spell, all of which is strictly theory of course and never been seen or used that he knows of.

(Depending on movements)
Marek once asleep dreams of a single room in the fort which is decorated in nice furnishings and a decorated pair of crossed longswords hang behind a beautifully worked shield. The room seems to have a home like feel to it as he gazes upon it and a single whisper goes through his head. <whisper> "Dream well and wake with hope for the future."

Mykell also dreams of a room inside the fort, the room is decorated in a oriental style and a set of ornamental swords from his land sit in it. He also hears a whisper. <whisper> "Dream well and wake with hope for the future."

Henri dreams of a room in the fort also. His room is decorated in nice furnishings also and on the wall hangs a ornamental hand holding what looks like a blazing sun, the symbol of Pelor. He also hears the whisper in his head. <whisper> "Dream well and wake with hope for the future."

Fern dreams of a room in the fort also and sees her room decorated in nice and comfortable furnishings. Hanging on the wall in her room look is a ornamental large hawk carrying a someone on it's back. In her mind she also hears a whisper. <whisper> "Dream well and wake with hope for the future."

Hart dreams of the garden like area where he will call home. He sees the grass looking trimmed down but not by any blade and large stones sticking out of the ground that radiate a holy but earthly energy that he can sense. The feeling from the stones and the land gives him a feeling of home that he has not felt in sometime. In his mind whispers a voice also. <whisper> "Dream well and wake with hope for the future."

In the morning everyone gets ready but the dwarf comes running to Hart. The dwarf looks full of energy and very excited as he waves his hands in the air, "It be a miracle me horned friend. The small garden area I's got to show you."

The dwarf goes running off now and looks back as he hopes Hart will follow. when he reaches the garden area where Hart would like is now sporting a nice grass look which has hardly a weed in the mess and the tree looks healthier then it did. In the area also are fours large stones that look like they have sprouted from the ground since they were not there before. Each stone has a single symbol that is a combination of the sylvan harmony and earth symbol. Hart will also notice laying next to one of the large stones is a pair of fruits from his home. Food he probably hasn't seen looking so fresh in such a long time.

Each person also gets shown by very suprised dwarves to various rooms in the fort. You are shocked to find your room looks like that in your dream, they are perfectly cleaned and show only the furnishings and such you dreamed. Each even support a small bowl with fruit in it. The fruit in each room looks very fresh and also different since each rooms fruit is set up to likness of the owner of the room.

Third Level(2): Countermoon*(spontaneous, summon), Remove Disease

Goddess' Gift (Spell Spirit): unused

The satyr sceptically follows the dwarf, humoring him the whole way. Thinking to himself, 'What do dwarves know of growth and nature? They bury themselves in the...' He isn't able to finish his thought when he recieves the shock of his long life time.

"A grove... of standing stones? These are rare, even to my kind." The druid moves into the center of the circle and refuses to move or let anyone else enter it for the rest of the day.

He spends the rest of the day communing with Father Oak, the Goddess and nature itself.

He will eat, sleep and reprepare spells in the grove for the night and the following morning. He'll play his pipes frequently and even memorize a special song he write for the Grove. (perform 32) Its a slow, lilting tune that will stir emotions in anyone.

Hart wants to decern all he can from the circle. Who may have constructed it? Where is the stone from? What sort of stone is it? (He'll ask the dwarves for help on these questions.)
He wants to know if there are Ley Lines nearby. Nexus (energy convergance)? If the plants that grow in it or near it are native to the area? If anyone has been in the grove recently? Or if it is a fey crossroad?
(knowledge nature 36, spellcraft 23, spot 35, survival 37)

Spirit dances for a short time around all the stones. Soon, he disappates. Hart then uses his Pearl of Power and his Rod to recall Spirit (CASTS Wood Wose within the circle! if he can) for the rest of the night and into the next day. Hart feels that Spirit would like that.

Loran will sleep atop the stone representing fire. When night falls, the owl wakes and hunts.

(OOC: Where is this Grove again? Near the fort?)

Jay B
Friday October 21st, 2005 7:26:18 AM

Sorry in advance if this post upsets anyone.

OOC: Justin, I have been slowly growing frusterated with you and the game because as an ADM, I have been utterly useless and feel I've let the game down because I've done nothing. Then I realized, its not MY fault at all. Thats why I need the module. That way we can coordinate and never have serious slack in the flow of the game.

The Hardell/Mith game was started in May of 2004. It has lasted for a year and five months. It hasn't seemed to be heading anywhere, toward no real goals. We're half way through the second year and it seems that the story hasn't had much going for it.

I talked to many of the FORMER players (before they left) that have since left the game and they said the game wasn't anything interesting, that they hoped the game might be unique but it hasn't turned out to be.
Now, honestly, I think its more unique than most. Thats why I've stayed this long.
They called the game "a running combat full of standard plots". I defended you and the game (and even a few players, including myself). Then near the beginning of this year, I started to see a further decline in the game, from players and Justin.

Psionics. Special God given abilities beyond the books. Playable races not seen in standard games. Creatures and realms not common to normal games.
This is a very special game. I want to keep it special by continuing when Justin's RL hits him hard. When he lapses and slows down in posts. Or when he simply takes a break. Thats what an ADM does. I can't do that without a module or even a discussion about it!

Now, just so no one thinks I'm ragging on Justin, I have to say that I needed to say this, both as a player and as the assistant DM.

I will stay. But things HAVE to change SOON. I don't want this to sound like an ultimatum, but if I don't have a copy of the whole module by the end of January, I will leave.

Sir Henri
Friday October 21st, 2005 7:49:15 AM

The paladin wakes with lingering part of his dream. "Ahh! what a beautiful Dream, A perfict place to pray."
He washes himself then only half dresses, When a dwarf enters the room (with out knocking). The dwarf is out of breath "Come! *puff* *puff* Come Sir! *Puff* The Chaple! *Weez*" pointing towards the chaple.

"Easy! Take a deep breath, then We'll go there to see what's it all about??" The paladin finishes dressing, then (With sword in hand) follows the dwarf to the chaple. Henri opens the door slowly, (to supprise an enermy) then jumps into the room!!

Henri drop his sword and his jaw, as he look around his idea of a perfect place to Pray. With out taking his eyes out of the beautiful and peacefull room, he tell the dwarf, " Friend dwarf, please tell the rest of the party, if I should be needed, I will be here praying!"

Henri will pick up his sword and set it aside. He will stay here in the present of his God (Palor) praying, medetaring and on ocation eat the wild fruits.

That is until he is needed!!

Fern
Friday October 21st, 2005 3:25:43 PM

Fern spends some time looking at the rooms until she comes to hers after examining it for several minutes she puts away her things and goes outside to see if Huur will now come inside the castle. She will also recommend that somebody check the fruit for magic and or poison (just in case).

Marek Isentomb
Friday October 21st, 2005 3:31:19 PM

Marek wakes from one of the more restful nights sleep then he can easily remember and sits up taking his time. Something in his core says he should appreciate this one as it may be a long time to another. Marek is still just sitting at the edge of his bed when the dwarf busts in.

"Hold onto your beard chief. A what? Yea give a moment" Marek grabs his weapon, never leave home without and follows the dwarf. Upon reaching the room he just sort of stands there, "Well I'll be." Marek takes a cusory look about the room in full appreciation, goddess has quite a few tricks up her sleeve.

Marek takes a mental note to thank her when able and moves out to find the others and then some breakfast.

Based on what the elf has said about the pocket dimension, Marek revamps the supply list to a more minimal list. A couple days of food for everyone, 100' rope with hooks and the lanterns with oil. "That should do fine."

Marek will locate the others or raher ask the dwarves to, since they probably know where everyone is. "Tell them to gear up and meet me at the portal."

Marek then eats and goes to wait for the others

Justin Webber (DM) Fort and Portal
Saturday October 22nd, 2005 7:42:27 PM

Mykell follows the dwarf to his room, allowing all the others a moment to themselves so they might look over what the dwarves are trying to show everyone.

At his room Mykell looks over the place in awe, wondering exactly why the goddess or anyone would do such a thing for him but is very thankful.
------------------------------------------------
Everyone finds their new rooms just as they dreamed and if the fruit is bothered then you find out it is fine also, no marks or even trace of foul play on them.

Hart talks to the dwarf about the grove and might be suprised that this particular dwarf wears more nature colored clothes then his friends. The dwarf scratches his head and looks around as he thinks over everything, "As far as I know my friend the trees and such here are normal. The stones like sprouted over night moreless. I think some powerful frce put them here. However I feel some great magic radiating from not only the stones but the ground as if it's amplified by them."

The dwarf does his best to talk to Hart about this and just enjoying the company of someone who also knows and likes the earth, contrary to normal dwarves.

(OOC:Jay, wasn't sure how to explain it for sure but as you probably know the goddess put the stones there but the ground itself does radiate some magic. The grove or garden area is a actually about half football field size area just outside of the fort.)

After everyone does what they are doing, admiring their rooms, researching and such you all meet up around the portal.

A single dwarf meets you all by the portal with a lantern just incase and a rope with a well made grappling hook attached, "If your ready we will attach this to one of these statues here and lower the rope down into the portal and you all can go down one at a time."

Fern
Sunday October 23rd, 2005 4:39:05 AM

After finding out that the fruit is good to eat Fern will put some of it in her bag of holding along with some pillows and heads for the portal. Fern will be the second or third person down the hole.

Sir Henri
Sunday October 23rd, 2005 6:38:13 AM

Henri bed is his saddle for a pillow and a sleeping bag, but it is all set up so that the fisrt light of day, will hit his face waking him. So when his dwarf came knocking at the door, tne paladin was already up, wash, shaved and into his armor,
He tell the dwarf, "Friend Dwarf, I have never had such a peaceful and restful night rest, since I have become a Knight. I will come to meet Friend Marek as soon as I say a little pray of thankfulness to my God."

True to his word, Henri is coming down the hall, "Friend Marek! I'm ready! I'll go down any time you tell me to."
He stands next to Fern.

Hart
Monday October 24th, 2005 4:10:26 AM

Hart stays in the grove until he is needed.

He thanks the dwarf and invite him back whenever he likes.

Marek Isentomb
Monday October 24th, 2005 10:40:36 AM

Marek nods to each as the rest arrive. "Then there were four. The horseman only needed four in the myths and so shall we." Marek extends a hand to each, "An honor to fight the darkness by your sides."

With that he turns, pulling his chain weapon and drops first through the portal.

Sir Henri
Monday October 24th, 2005 6:53:21 PM

Sir Henri listens to Marek. then extend his hand, tell the party " I'm next to follow, see you all beyond."
With on hand on his sword, he follows the leader by droping through the portal.

Justin Webber (DM) Portal Jumping
Tuesday October 25th, 2005 1:27:30 AM

Mykell waits for Marek to go first and then Henri and then moves to the portal also. After a few moments of staring at it he grips his sheathed katana tightly and also jumps in hoping that every moves for each new person who jumps down into the portal.
------------------------------------------------
Hart and all other that have not shown up at the portal area are visited by a single dwarf who tells them about the rest of the party starting down into the portal and are quickly lead to the portal so they can join there friends.

A couple dwarves move about securing the rope and grappling hook to one of the large stone statues near the portal and the small hole it is down in. Afterwards they also drops the loose end of the rope into the portal so it can be used to climb up or so they hope anyway.

Each person that drops into the portal is suprised by a few thigs at once. First they feel like they fall for quite sometime in a swirling colored portal like. Just as it seems like you might fall forever you suddenly land on hard stone and above you is the portal you just exited from. The landing however is quite hard and unexpected so Reflex 14 to keep on your feet.

The next thing that cetches your eyes is that you have appeared in a rather large room with bookshelves covering the walls and a single door to the far end of the room. The shelves are pretty bare of books or anything but a couple do have old books standing up or laying on there side. If looked at the books look to be simple magic books giving mainly the basics of spells and such. One though goes into details far above anything any arcane user of the group would know and some of it looks quite alot like thories or such. Lastly is a simple notebook looking object. Inside this notebook is a few legible pages.

(1st legible page) Day 3 after experiment: Things look very good indeed right now. My host subject willing or not has successfully been bonded with a demon of exceptional power. He has showed promising improvements to all his normal abilities and has even picked up some new ones.

(2nd legible page) Day 6 after experiment: This is quite exciting. It looks like I have succeeded in making the host of the powerful demon meld invulnerable to normal demon drawbacks. A interesting side note is the subjects mental, strength and such have been aplified and I believe he is showing excellent progress.

(3rd legible page) Day 12 after experiment: All my planning never really prepared me for this. In my home we have melded a special silver with bones easy enough to make my race terribly powerful. Are oldest mistake was taking the power of angels and demons and melding them to ourselves. It was out lawed for reasons that was never released but in these past few days I have began to see why.

My experiment which I have carefully been guiding along has became violent of late. The demon melding has taken a turn unexpected and the subjects huma side is being eaten away by the demon. Clearly this work has much more work to be done to completely but I fear my time in trying to correct it will be up soon. My subject is sealed in a vault like area that I kept him in but he has grown so large and powerful that even now his fist a beating the solid steel of many inches thick to submission and I know he will be free soon. I have also found that the use of my magic in melding the demon to the subject has made the subject immune or less harmed by my magic. This here is my last page in this journal and I ask anyone who finds it and the lab and such beyond to use none of the lab to continue my work. The melding of demons and angels to a mortal form is not for anyone to tamper with. We the Lakothian's sought to gain these powers, the powers of the divine ones and the evil ones and we have seen how impossible it is. Not only are these new creatures made so powerful but ultimately unstable. For this reason and what I have seen myself I think it is true the gods really banished our city beneath the waters.

My final words here of very high importance also. The way to Lakothian I can not give but if one day the reader of this makes it there or meets a strange man by the name of Drifter then I ask you tell him that a old man, a man of wisdom and stupidty both wishes him the best and hopes he can look on his memories of me with atleast some fondness. Drifter is my son and my very very first experiment. He does not know this but he is very special to our people for in him is not the silver we make but a metoer like metal that is stronger then anything I have met before and he is the single experiment I done on angels. I believe he was successfully melded with a angel and to date that I have heard has shown no sign of any insanity. I ray that in doing what I have to him will make up for what I have done now for in my heart I believe he alone stands the chance of mending the ways of my people and putting them back in the good graces of the creator goddess who we all think banished us. <the last past is impossible to make out, the beginning jerks wildly and blood stains the page here>

OOC; Reflex Check 28

The plaldin lands on his feet, but his feet sting, Henri looks around, "Not much here??" until they come across this one jurnal (a very old book).

The paladin reads the last entry in the old book, look at Marek "Hmmm! Intresting! Did we not meet an old Blind Drifter that help us out of a little trouble a while ago? I wonder if he's still around?"

Never liked magical transit. Every blast wizard seems to have the urge to make thier spells uni... He doesn't quite finish the thought, when the floor rushes into existance. Marek flexies his legs and absorbs the impact and then quickly sidesteps several feet and battle assess the room. Nothing but books, small favors.

Henri, Fern, Hart and Mykell are quick to follow and find Marek already moving about the perimeter for hidden exits. Talking over his shoulder at the landings of the others, "Looks like a library, no immediate threats."

After his search, Marek movs over to the books and journal Henri points out, "Yea I would say our friend Drifter is the same one mentioned here. How many ancient dead races of Lakothian elves could be walking about calling themselves Drifter?", he muses to the man with a smile.

"Barring any other idea, I say we all give the place a detailed search and if nothing turns up, pack up every book and head back to the fort."

Fern
Tuesday October 25th, 2005 8:17:13 PM

Fern will take a moment to pull out her Lakothian coin and see if it looks different. She will then start getting books and tying them in stacks with some rope, attach the books to the rope hanging down and giving a little tug to have the dwarves pull them up. "We can look at them later, lets get the books up into the fort and look for the demon."

"My though exactly." the paladin serches high and low, But find nothing of intress. As he packs some books in some bags, he think "I wonder if the Drifter is still around? I wonder if he's still in the woods some where?"

Mykell looks to the others and shrugs once he drops through the portal. However when he lands he looses his footing and slams into the floor. He quickly stands however and rubs his leg, feeling abit of a pulled muscle before moving to the side and looking around, "Well, guess no enemies is good, maybe this place is abandoned down here."
------------------------------------------------
The group searches the area more and finds nothing of interest, no other doors but the one straight on. There doesn't look to be anything strange about the door and so it is finally opened.

The next room is something else for sure. It looks like a very large wizards lab. beakers hang in holders, large glass cylinders are also in the room large enough for a person to stand inside and one looks to of been used long ago as there are markings from the inside. Also in the room are a few things of interest. On a large group of shelves are various plants and some even Hart has never seen before, each have a label on the jar there in but all of them are under a arcane name. However each plant looks alive yet insde their jar, some have brilliant colors and one most curiously to Hart changes colored as various people approach it. (knowledge nature check DC:16 to know this is a mood flower. It's a legendary flower very seldom seen.) On the upper shelves are various animals, some floating in liquid and looking to of been found dead since some have tooth or claw marks, a few of the other jars have what looks like a magic on them making the creature inside have it's own personal enviroment. The main one of note is a jar with a small winged creature that looks something like a gremlin. It flitters around inside and looks about at each of you. The name on the label says Fremlin.

There are two doors or atleast one a half. At the right of the room is a normal wood looking door but there is one at the front of the room from the door you just entered. This door though looks to of once been made of cold iron of atleast 8 inches thick and about 12ft tall and 8ft wide. However noticeably something or someone has left large fist marks in the metal of the door and in the center of the door is a large rip where it has been beat through literally. The rip shows marks of old blood but little of it and inside is a metal cell where a single food plate lays that still has food on it even though it shows mold.

Marek's Chain is out in a snap upon spotting the destroyed door, "Keep frosty." his eyes dart about for signs of danger. [spot 17] The cell is obviously empty Marek ignores everything and moves quickly to the still shut wooden door.

Putting his ear to the door he hears well a door [listen 2]. Marek motions with his hand to his lips and then waves the others over.

(OOC:My appolgies to everyone for the slip in posting. we got our new computer here and have been fighting with getting it completely setup and now finally have it set. Good news people, now I can post ALOT easier and will be at this full force so ready or not here it goes. I will kick up my posting also and hope each of you can keep up with this game moving more like a regular game. Jay, I'm really trying to give Hart more interest also and hope I succeed in doing so and getting everyones interest back in the game. also just a small explanation, I didn't post anymore info on the flowers because I wanted the check, just explaining.)

Mykell looks around and also notices the door and frowns before pulling his katana from it's sheath and readying himself for a fight if one comes.

He also looks to Marek and pushes a finger to his lips in a shh motion and whispers, "If the door is locked let someone pick it if we have someone who can."
-----------------------------------------------
Hart looks over the flowers and remembers why these flowers are legendary after abit of thought. Going by the legends passed down these flowers were suppose to be given to the creator goddesss by a ancient god of nature thats name was forgotten in history. These flowers are not suppose to bloom anywhere in the world except on a single mountain that to this day is not known by anyone. where these flowers came from is a great mystery, let alone anything known about them and what they do beyond change colors depending on the person's mood near them.

Everyone else prepares for a possible fight and Marek moves to the only door not opened yet or broken. After checking the knob he finds it to be unlocked and slowly opens it to show a long hallway with 4 doors to each side of the hall. From the looks of the distance between the doors along each wall it is pretty easy to tell they are probably guest rooms or something but each door is shut tight so you can't see in.

(Spot and listen checks will reveal nothing since the doors, floor, wall etc do not look trapped or anything and you can't hear nothing down here either.)

Sir Henri
Saturday October 29th, 2005 7:24:52 AM

The paladin was muttering out loud, when he nitices tha he's alone in this ROOM?? "Hey! Where did every body go?"

He look to see that the door that leads to the lab is open, and there's nobody there either??
He enters the lab he see Hart looking at a beker. Then there another open door, but here he can hear faint sounds, He draws his sword and slowly approches the half open door.

When he find the rest of the party, He wishpers "this is how I lost you the last time! I was alone!"

We are stuck with the old fashion ways of opening doors and detecting traps. You're a ranger, I'm a fighter, so is Mykell. He's a druid." motioning to Hart. "Tyal is a cleric and Henri there is a holy warrior. We are a bit shy on the arcane arts and those of questionable character and while the former would be nice not having the latter slink around behind me suits me just fine."

Looking about, "Let's say we check each door to see if there are any inhabitants and then starting with this door we enter each room. Someone has to go first and that will be me. Someone also has to guard this hall and I say that is you Fern." Marek says all of this in a quiet voice and then as if it has been settled he moves to each door.

Mykell nods and moves along with the others and didn't know they were so low on some skills that are usefull. He stays ready though as he watches and waits for each door to be open.
-----------------------------------------------
The group slowly makes their way from room to room, opening the door and finds that each room is exactly what could of been guessed, a guest room.

Each room is set up with a single bed, small table, desk and such but look untouched or even lived in at any time really.

After this search it is clear that the place is cleaned out finally of all known rooms. An from the looks no monsters await you down here now as there is no place left for them to be hiding.

(Okay everyone, I moved this part on abit fast but congradz for finishing the fort and your new home. Each person is awarded 4 ability points towards gaining a new ability off of the chat for special abilities. Keep track of these for sure so you can upgrade your abilities as you gain enough points. Exp is coming shortly and someone needs to remind me of the items I gave out previously. We will handle that stuff and continue on. The Paladin following the leader, except the last room. This room he enters and checks it all out, Even under the bed. "This is where all my childhood monsters use to hide! But every thing in here is clean??"
Henri goes to leader Marik, Telling him "Have you notice that every room is si clean? And never been used??"

Happy to know the fort is clear, he turns to the group.

Marek nods to henri, "Yea like they haven't been used in years but with some magic keeping them almost like new. This section seems like it would make a good vault area. Pocket dimension only one way in. just have to find a way to secure the portal entrance, though it is hidden already. Anyway something to keep in mind for private meetings and such."

As hart moves off and informs them he bobs his head to the satyr, "Right get some down time, we should probably all try to soak up a day or two. I'll coordinate with the dwarves and try to work out our next move. Everyone else get some sleep and relax, when we start up again it be awhile before the luxury comes again."

Marek will help ship out all the books from the lab area to the main keep and then start going through them. he will also tell the dwarves for the first couple days he wants status meetings every three hours and to be immediately informed of any odd discoveries in the inital coverage of the keep and the restoration process.

Justin Webber (DM) Talks and Fort set up
Wednesday November 2nd, 2005 9:50:04 PM

(OOC:I forgot a single room that I had hidden so I need to throw this in real quick, sorry everyone.)

As everyone begins to leave the area and make plans for the fort Fern notices that the far wall of the hallways where all the rooms are is a small stone that sticks out just abit farther then the other stones on the wall.

When the stone is pushed and the wall slides away you see in a rather large room something very different and unexpected. In the room a large device, it's large and clunky looking and in the front has a single lever and a small hole where something can be inserted. On a small counter to the side is also a small table that a group of four wands lay on. The machine even though it looks clunky and unused in many years does look clean though.

(OOC:Someone like to look in the archives for the treasure I handed out earlier back in the vault that was in the fort.)

"what's that Firm? Another Room?" Ask Henri, "I was ready to leave... Oh! Let's takt a look it might yeld something"

The paladin turns and follows Hart into the Room, "WOW!" he said loudly. "Look! Little One! This room is built foe a very big person and hidden too!"
Henri walks around the room, he come to the table where Hart is looking at some wands. Henri ask Hart, "I wonder? Do you want to try one?"he ask Hart, "You try one and I'll try another??" Henri smiles at the Satyr.

Hart
Thursday November 3rd, 2005 7:40:28 PM

Hart looks at Henri. "No, I'd rather stay alive. It's not my task to test theory, I just make suggestions. I'll be over here." He points and moves to a longer distance from the machine. "I am a druid, not some sort of gnome tinkerer."

Justin Webber (DM) Strange Room&Machine
Thursday November 3rd, 2005 11:54:29 PM

Mykell looks to the others and shrugs befre moving over and grabbing up one of the wands, "I'll try one and see what happens. Maybe everyone better wait outside of this room just incase something bad happens."

After waiting for people to move a safe distance or speak their mind he looks to the small hole and tries pushing the wand into the hole.
-----------------------------------------------
Everyone looks over the new room found and after Hart's suggestion Mykell tries one of the wands into the large machine in the room.

Everyone might be shocked or not shocked when the wand slides smoothly into the hole, leaving just enough to grab ahold of sticking back out yet. Just as it's pushed fully in a whirring noise is heard and suddenly the small glass covered holes through each room at the top near the ceiling and your guess throughout fort spark and then light up, giving off as much light as a normal lantern and lighting the ruins nicely. A small dial on the machine now also lights up and numbers next writing that says days wind back slowly to mark 60.

A small note which is now more visible is also on the wall near the switch on the wall, not to mention a dusty diagram of something that is hard to make out.

(Ceil:You can run Marek till DanielK comes back. :) Thanks for jumping in to help, this is why I like the players in this game. You all have been steady players and willing to help when needed.)

Then the light go on and nothing harmful happens, "Oh! Never mind then, now lets really give this room a very careful once over!"

The Leaser will serch (18)

The paladin gives Hart a sheepish grin, when Mykell picks up a wand, then insert it in to the little hole.
Henri jumps back when the light go on, Jumps again when Marek enters the room and yells at them. "But - But I tried to stop him!" said Henri pointing at Hart.
Henri will go off to inspect the room more closely.

Marek turns giving the party a very angry look. "VERY FUNNY! NOW STARK LOOKING AROUND!" Then He tell the paladin, "Now! Henri! Get Your Holy Boots Over Here."

Justin Webber (DM) Machine Room
Monday November 7th, 2005 10:24:21 PM

Mykell shrugs and looks to the others, "Didn't figure it would do much in the lines of blowing up or such, guess just luck."

Mykell looks around the room with the others some too before preparing to head back to the fort itself.
-----------------------------------------------
The group looks around the room with the machine that just lit the place up.

Henri after brushing dust off of the wall near the lever finds a diagram of what looks like the fort. One part of the diagram shows the switch pulled up and the fort setting like it is currently when you entered and all. The next diagram though shows the lever pulled down at the the fort has lowered so only a single floor is above the ground level.

The note on the wall also reads simply as such, "Do not pull the secret switch somewhere in the room unless absolutely needed."

Hart
Tuesday November 8th, 2005 2:47:03 AM

"Secret what?" Asks the satyr nervously.

Sir Henri
Tuesday November 8th, 2005 8:31:09 AM

Henri tell Marek, "Hey! Marek, Take a look at this!" He points to the diagram near the lever. "It look's like the fort floor plan."

Marek (Sub Ceil)
Tuesday November 8th, 2005 8:40:13 AM

Marek turns from what he was looking at, ask the paladin, "What have you found over there, it better be good!"

Marek gos to the wall and looks at the dusty diagram, "By the beard of a mountain goat! It is a diagram of the floor plan! I wonder what secret lever it mentions here? Is there a secret lever here in this room? Or Is the lever some where in a room up in the Fort?
Keep looking! and if you do find a lever, For Goodness sake DON'T pull the lever!!" He tells all.

Anyone looking at the machine should make a Spot or Search check.

The mechanism seems very odd indeed. Perhaps the machine activates defenses for the fort or even opens doors to other places... perhaps not.
