Fang notices the surprise and grunts in amusement. "Don't be so surprised. This is why I sought out to join a dragon group. Not to help vampires, but to fight racism and bring more equality to the species of the Wold. It is a disease that exists in many countries and places and with the resources of the dragons I hope to weaken it's influence in every way I can."

Fang is ready to leave if the rest of the group are.

Jozhur shakes his head, "I'm not entirely sure we will be parting ways, Rill. At any rate, we need to be going, we can address this later". He tries to reassure Urlryn, "That has also been a condition for anyone travelling with us. If you speak the truth, and I believe you, don't fret it."

"Have a bit of faith Mistress Elhonna, and rest assured we will do our best to find Crall."

As we leave, Aex speaks silently to her friends.

Hrmph. Ehlonna says, "if we can rescue him." She almost seems to have resigned herself to Crall never coming back. I would be frantic if one of you were missing.

Urlryn gives Rill a firm nod. "The part left unsaid it was I find most important Rill. If you god says I have to die, then what? We can try this conversation again, after the tournament." She nods appreciatively to Fang, then looks back to Jozhur. and smiles. "I'll trust you, and if that means trusting Rill, that's fine too."

Elhonna is suddenly bothered. "Urlryn, you know I wouldn't stop you, but can you please not talk about abandoning your contract in front of me? Four hundred years old, going on fourteen." To Rill, she answers. "All of them. The Fist allow changing of magical weapons of all sorts. Crall seeks advantage in using all tools for their purposes. His techniques are fluid across all weapons. He fights in close quarters exclusively."

----------------

Tora answers questions from the team.

"My fighting is instinct, not style. I use tooth and claw, and Hin often mocks me. He is... a foul human. His smell is bad, and his heart is bad. The Fist used gold to bury his punishment for killings. He serves his time with us, in exchange for more freedom. He has promised fifty years to the Fist. He only has several left. Even his killings are more violent than they need to be. Elhonna has to guard him from his own acts constantly."

He sniffs the air as they walk. His whole face and head are canine, only his body is humanoid. "Elhonna has great faith in all of us. She believes Hin can be taught what is good. I disagree. Bad smells never change. Even Urlyrn smells better than him, and she is a dead thing." He looks at Jozhur for some time.

"I would never consider a mate of Urlryn. Her life is wrong. You do not seem to mind. I smell the smell she refers to. You have the smell of death about you, but you are alive. I do not know why she is drunk on your scent. You smell like any other dead shadow to me."

Terser wonders if it's too much to hope that Hin will start feeling his age and settle down soon. What happens when his time is served and he leaves the Fist?

That's a problem for future Elhonna though - Terser intends to let her know that he'll be available to help with that problem in the future if it becomes one. There are other things to focus on at the moment.

The Sea Dragons and Hin make their way back towards the arena. Its easy to see how the rounds have gone by a large tracker near the arena. Runt, from Fangs of the Beast has defeated Gort. While that's a bit of a surprise, it also seems that Khale has defeated Bokkun, which was a tremendous upset.

In the arena is Claw, and it seems that she has Tasin from Aisildurs team on the ropes.

--------------------------

You are able to easily find Last Whisper. They are still in the stands, watching from the same place they were before. Xid is with them now, having lost. Tencent and Xuffie are absent. Khloud's head snaps to watch your movements almost as soon as you lay eyes upon him. He says a word, and hands go to weapons. They aren't moving towards you, but look ready for a fight if one brings itself to them.

Deciding to bypass the coming interplay, the dwarf continues right on.

"We have been asked to help find the missing competitors, and informed of your accusations. In this, you are mistaken. We have had no part in them.

In the course of our investigations, we have found a transparent scroll near the spot each competitor was last seen. Each scroll has held one component of a meeting location - latitude, depth, and hour.

We assume such a scroll was found near Xuffie's last known location. Should you share this information, we shall share ours, and you are welcome to accompany us to the location thus revealed."

Jozhur approaches The Last Whisper with a friendly smile. He does his best to further convince the team they can be trusted, "Yes, we heard about your accusation. We aren't offended by it, but have you asked yourselves why we would even do such a thing? We aren't here for treasure, our only interest is sport. There wouldn't be any sport or honor in winning by kidnapping competitors. Or are you just accusing us to have us disqualified? Either way, water under the bridge.

Have you heard the story of Crall's disappearance? We aren't even capable of that, if we were, we wouldn't need to make people disappear to win these games.

Whoever, or whatever, did this is awfully powerful. We will need to work together on this. We at least need to see the scroll, if you found one. If not, we need to go look, together if you want."

Most of the species has been around for centuries scattered through time by Mab's land. My tribe only lasted a few generations, but they split off from an older tribe, who had done the same, repeat for a few centuries into the past."

Ken E: The First Round, Arena Map

Kind ol' Aexana checks in with Tora. It's a conversation that catches Fang in it as well. Tora's answer is completely different than Fangs. "I may look like a canine, but my mind is aware, much more than an animal. Fang speaks of culture and tribes, but I know nothing of this. I just sort of fell into existence, one day I had eyes and could see. It is more I sprang from the dust with knowledge than was raised in a litter with parents. It was like that for all that I knew. We had a pack and we lived well. It was misfortune that we hunted the lands of farmers and humans too much. They could not defeat us, so the Fist was hired to scatter us. Elhonna killed our alpha in battle, and so I left the pack for hers. It felt right."

----

Bralin, Rill and Tahni try their best to assure Last Whisper the Dragons aren't spoiling for a fight. Jozhur takes it a step further and explains their purpose from beginning to end. Khloud doesn't relax, but at least his words hint at a chance to avoid a fight.

"Fine.", he says. "But mind the crowd. If this turns into conflict, well, just keep in mind I don't selectively channel." Khloud is all lean muscle and weapons, with brilliant blue eyes that hint of violence barely contained. Rill doesn't detect any undead, though his radar pings a construct monk or two within its range. Even so, the mans aura of menace is palpable. He radiates a strong, thick, powerful evil that is without remorse. The feeling is present for a moment, before Khloud suppresses it with some amount of visible struggle.

"Xhuffie.. I last saw her not far from your camp. We have a rotating watch set on you. We have our reasons. She went in a little further than usual in order to try and overhear your prayers and spell preparations, to have an idea of what we should expect from the only competition we have on this island. She never came back."

The snake-like marilith-demon, Blue 31, hisses. "If anyone could have spotted her, it'd be the consortium. You caught her and killed her. We demand recompense or one of your withdrawals!" Xid scoffs. "Not likely, stupid demon. I've fought the consortium before. Powerful enemies who will crush anyone they judge worthy of lethal force, but they don't murder out of spite."

Khloud stares at the demon, who withers a little under his gaze. "Explain your ransom note.", he demands. "If its a code, we couldn't break it." He offers the scroll to Jozhur.

Jozhur may trust a vampire, but he can bring himself to put any faith in the intentions of The Last Whisper. Maybe Xid, but not Khloud, and not the demon.

He eyes the scroll carefully in Khloud's hand, "That is not from any of us. And I think you know that."

He will only take the scroll and open it when given the go ahead, Tahni, anything off about that scroll?

When his name is brought up, Tora does nothing but growl at the Last Whisper. Several of the Sea Dragons work together to inspect the scroll, and none find it trapped. When opened, “77.5011°E” is the relayed latitude.

The Sea Dragons now have a time, latitude, longitude, and depth. That's enough rudimentary information for a teleport, at the very least.

Khloud watches Terser and Bralin for a moment, and seems to be almost amused by Aexana's kind hearted notion of friendship. He kneels down and pats the gnome on the head. His touch feels hot and makes her a little queasy, but its nothing serious. "Hah, that's a good point, pinky. If you guys bring Xhuffie back to me, I'll drop our accusation against you. That said, we won't go with you. I think there's far too many... differences in worldview, for our teams to coexist away from the arena and the monks."

Rill does not notice any particular deity's trappings on Kloud, but the man does seem to have a number of sigils and artifacts carved into his armor. Many are in high woldian, and when observed as a whole they seem to suggest that Kloud might venerate the ideas of chaos in the world, and the putting of the self first, before all others or ideals.

The Sea Dragons are, by and large, done with the Last Whisper. One by one they are satisfied with the information they have received, and start to pull themselves away from the impromptu meeting. All except Tahni, who sits in thought for a moment on the coordinates.

----

Kozy's voice breaks through the din of the crowd as Claw puts the finishing touches on her opponent. "Round two is coming up next folks! All new arenas! All the most powerful fighters! All the gold you can bet! Terser and Tencent, make your way down to the pre-staging area!"

(Be sure to figure out Tersers gear and update headers!)

Anything THAT deep will either require extreme preparation in regards to time to achieve the depth, or a teleport spell to quickly reach it. The lat and long points to the Dragon Isles themselves, and it seems that the tip-giver has decided to use one of the many abandoned and submerged caves. Of course, it could also be a trap, and the teleport could lead them into a boiling volcano. Who knew?

------------

As she ponders the coordinates, Tahni feels a hand on her shoulder. The hand is warm and strong, and feels like it should be familiar. When she turns, she sees the same young dwarf from before, older now, and in the full bloom of his prime. He has several badges of honor and trinkets hanging from his armor, including a pack of “Scabgrit”, a common ration made up of food easily found in the unforgiving Scab.

“When you went missing, it tore me apart girl. I question everything, but mostly Domi. I left his worship, ya know. Instead, I fell into a rage” The young dwarf looks over the arena. “I was broken, like one of your fancy glass daggers.” With that, he vanishes, and Tahni feels a sharp pain in her back. Piercing through her pack, and colored red with a prickling of her blood, is one of her old glass daggers. She doesn't know how she knows, but her heart tells her it was taken as a cherished keepsake by one Braugh Stormbringer.

But his voice. His words. Only Bruagh speaks like that. With tears already filling her eyes Tahni gasps for air, not even realising she'd been holding her breath to begin with. She reaches a trembling hand out to touch the badges on his chest. He always was a fighter - noble and brave. She's always been proud of her true love. Tahni starts to sniff loudly and allows a tear to run down her face. She's trying hard to keep it together. Very few have ever seen her so vulnerable. "Bruagh... I...". But that is as far as she gets before he vanishes.

She barely feels the sting of the dagger in her back. The pain in her chest hurts more. Tahni drops to her knees, head in her hands and sobs quietly, not caring who sees her.

The dagger remains unnoticed to her in her back.

The dagger poking Tahni is in her backpack, not just jutting from her back. Perhaps a spot of blood might be noticed, in which case it would be kind of Rill to heal it and point it out to her. Jozhur figures what Tahni does, there's a lot of islands in this area. It stands to reason the same volcanic and geographic activity might have spawned some underwater caves. It might also be a long con and a trap.

The dragons will need to make a decision regarding personal safety, and saving others.

Tahni sheds tears for a lost love, long removed from her life. In what is now her second encounter with Braugh, she is aware that it all feels and seems very real, like a new reality, and one only she is aware of until its all over. She's aware of Last Whisper watching her warily, and Khlouds expression reveals complete confusion and utter disdain.

Terser and Aexana go over his gear and get him prepared. He recalls Tencent as a honest to goodness were-bear, and according to scouting reports he was somewhat skilled in martial arts. He was also the one carrying around the giant locked and sealed casket that ostensibly contained Last Whispers final team-member.

When Terser reports in, he's sent to the red squares. The first major change in the field he notices is the smell. It's like old vegetables soaked in sockwater and left out in the sun to dry. The battlefield itself now consists of a long, narrow bridge arrayed over conjured swampy terrain. The brackish water is foul smelling, and something is churning the water from below.

"Alright fight fans! It's a new arena! This one will be in play for the entirety of round two, so get used to the smell!" People laugh, even as they flock to the lines as the betting chambers open up with even odds.

"I'll be ok" she sniffs. Tahni collects the dagger and leaves with the others. Her face turned downwards as she goes through her memories of Bruagh. A glass dagger - this dagger - was the last thing she left for him before her abduction. Had he really turned away from Domi?

She'd really like to just go back to the pavilion right now but rationalizes it is better to be among friends.

She finds a quiet seat to watch Terser's bout.

Terser sees three large crocodilian monsters swimming just under the muck of the water. Worse, the water itself is covered in a toxic algae. Being in there for a long time isn't advisable for the average person. As Terser slides his gaze over to Tencent, he can't help but appreciate the raw physical bulk of his opponent. Unlike Grandpaw, this fighter seems to be reliant on only his physical prowess. He carries no weapons, other than his massive claws. Terser also notices a cluster of shiny beads woven into his opponents fur on his arms, and under his chin.

Terser wins initiative. Feel free to start!

-------------------------------------

Outside of the arena, the dragons watch Terser whilst also considering the upcoming mission. To know exactly what lies at the coordinates given would take either a scrying spell or divination magic with pointed questions. With so many powerful people here, the Dragons are confident they could find a spellcaster able to either offer teleportation services, a scroll, or any other manner of equipment for that matter.

Jozhur tries to figure out why someone would leave them breadcrumbs. What are the typical reasons someone leads another person on? What motivation might someone have to watch them scramble? Perhaps its a feint to get the heroes away from the island. Perhaps its a feint to get them to the coordinates for some other reason? Perhaps someone in merely tinkering in their affairs, and watching from afar?

Tersers hammer thuds against Tencents thick hide. The monster grunts, but doesn't seem to be in any pain.

Tencent is a beast. In his hybrid form, he has humanoid legs with an upright bears posture. Tencent takes a deep breath, and drops to all fours. His large back legs flex, and with one powerful leap, Tencent bursts across the bridge, landing with a crash within range of Terser. He reaches out with one arm, thick like a trunk, and snatches Terser by the face, crushing in with large and powerful claws.

Terser observes the following: Tencent has an 80ft move. Tencent has improved grab, like a bear. Tencent has improved grapple. Tencent has an item increases his natural weapon damage. Tencents AC is 37.

Fang is a little surprised at Aexana's outburst. "A grapple is perfectly fair. In fact that's the entire point of many fighting styles. I tried to grapple Hin in my match." With the ring conversation she kicks herself mentally. "We should have asked about scrying attempts or an item of his while we were with the Seven."

Hey, at least they've got one of his friends right here. She turns to Tora. "Did you guys try to scry or divine anything about Crall after he vanished? It seems something the enemy would expect and block but it's worth a shot. If your group hasn't we can try after the match. Heck even if your group has maybe ours will have more luck - divinations can be a little unreliable."

Tahni and Rill discuss divination options. Fang asks Tora about it, and he tell her that divination couldn't confirm Cralls location, only that he was still alive. Scrying was ineffective, even with his personal things in their possession.

---

Other discussions among the group turn to grappling and the arena in general. Tora instantly disagrees with Rill. "Fighting is motion and adaption. If not for the added chaos, only size, strength, and wargear would matter. These challenge the mind, and show the warriors mind and ability."

---

In the arena, Tencent wastes little time with the struggling Terser. He shoves the dwarf to the ground with one hand, and starts looping a heavy chain around the dwarf with the other. He fails this second action, and grunts with aggravation.

Terser is pinned. No new damage this round. (Note, if you maintain holding your weapon, you take a -2 to attempts to free yourself. If it never got drawn, which is also possible since you threw one in round 1, then don't worry about it.)

Terser howls with fury, and Tencents eyes go wide for a brief moment. The creatures resolve doesn't shake, and he doesn't lose his pin on Terser. ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tahni isn't sure if scrying is going to be possible. There's many high level magics that completely shield one from divination. Crall might be warded by one such effect. Bralin possibly hits upon a weakness of of the Last Whisper. Individually, they all posses strange or powerful skills. There's not much harmony among them, as they seem to be a collection of strangers gathered to make a stab at the gold purse. That is of course, to say nothing of the encased and yet unrevealed member of their team. Fang has a clever observation on the Chancers, and she's completely correct. They could go on about tactical challenges for days. This is all for the thrill, and the sport.

Terser relies on his rage and the power it brings to reverse his current fortunes. He shoves hard, pushing Tencent back off the ledge on the other side of the bridge. Tersers maneuver buys him time away from Tencent, but leaves him exposed to another attack from the monsters in the water.

He draws two attacks of opportunity from the crocs with his movement.

AoO from Blue Hit AC 23 for 31 damage.
AoO from Red Hit AC 26 for 29 damage.

Tencent falls back into the water with a splash. He takes d6 falling damage, and saves against the poison. Unlike Terser however, he immediately tears into the nearest Crocodile, rather than seeking to re-enter the bridge.

Tencent: 55 damage.
Red Croc: 107 damage.
Blue Croc: 0 damage.
Green Croc: 0 damage.

-------------------

The crocodiles continue to swarm and hunt. With their long reach and enlarged torsos, they lash out at their prey.

Red Croc hits AC 38 (crit) and confirms vs AC 37 for 50 damage on Tencent after DR.
Blue Cros hits AC 27 for 28 damage on Terser.
Green Croc cannot leave the water it seems. It waits behind the other two crocodiles.

Around the same time viewers decide this map is in Tencents favor, Tersers own abilities with grapples and bullrushes feature center stage. There's a marked difference in how the two fighters handle their current situation however.

Rill probes his friends for communion ideas. The others watch the fight in varying degrees of concern for Terser, with Fang most certain he has things under control.

Terser lets loose his terrifying howl, but to no effect. It seems that he only had Tencent intimidated for 2 rounds, the round he was thrown into the swmap, and the round he pushed Tencent into the drink himself. He pulls himself up on the bridge.

Tencent continues to howl and slash at the dire crocodile. He literally tears the closest one apart, before diving underwater, a foreleg still hanging from his mouth.

Meanwhile, discussions about Communions and Divinations are in full bloom. Tora vanishes with at least Fang in tow. "I prefer meat. Something on a stick sounds right for me, what about you?"

Over near the Last Whisper, Khloud looks he might be about to come unglued. He is screaming at Tencent, shouting "Focus! Mission 2!", in elven, over and over again. He stops when Tencent submerges.

With the death of the dire crocodile, the other two seem to hold their positions, before scattering in opposite directions.

Terser readies himself for Tencents next appearence, and he doesn't have to wait long. When the giant werebear emerges, he does in a violent eruption of spray and water. Back in the stands, Aexana, Tahni, and Jozhur suddenly find themselves graced with Kale's company. He offers a bag towards Tahni. "I think you lost your lunch money, Dragon." "Unless I'm mistaken Terser just won the match. Heather told us we could not use supernaturnal abilities. I'm going to guess the beast used Ki to jump up so high, and while the jump may have been an extraordinary thing, using his Ki to do so, well, that was a supernatural thing and likely disqualifies him. Those glowing legs gave him away.

Terser explains to the crocodiles why they should be eating bear, and not dwarf. Before he can tell whether or not it did much good, his is "rescued" by his opponent. Tencent looks down at Terser, his eyes bleary and lacking much more than animal instinct. He swipes downwards at the dwarf, catching him up in his claws and teeth.

Terser: Grappled. 53 damage.

Terser has figured out the crocodiles by this point. They ready attacks against foes who fall in the water. They fight until a fighter is dropped or a croc is defeated. If a cros is defeated, they retreat for a round or until the next time someone hits the water.

------------------------

In the stands, Rill ponders as to why Tencent's ki usage is allowed. He remembers that while supernatural abilities are not allowed, extraordinary ones are. This is a tournament made to showcase martial skills. Since it doesn't duplicate a spell and comes from the monk class list of powers, it's fair game.

Tersers powers are divinely inspired and rooted in magic, but Rill HAS hit upon a technicality. Its up to him whether or not he wants to encourage Terser to use powers that don't duplicate spells. The dwarf will probably get away with it. This would bode well for Fang and Bralin, if it doesn't get Terser disqualified.

The Dragon Consortium has just tried to bribe me to take it easy on them, but fear not! I'll deliver a gift more valuable than gold with my next bout in the arena!" He grins at Tahni and flicks the last gold coin back her direction. Hushed whispers about bribes roll through the stands. Kale winks, and turns to head back into the crowds.

Tahni just slowly shakes her head as Kale leaves. She turns to speak with Bralin, though perhaps might be speaking a little too loudly as some nearby citizens could overhear...

"Unbelievable. Truly unbelievable. Who would think that members of the Dragon Consortium would try to bribe anyone? All this because we wouldn't cheat? You remember that? He offered us access to the stewards room to show us plans and documents of ALL the fighters in the tournament. Every single one of them." she looks over at Tora "It's true. They offered to provide all of that to us, but of course we declined"

She continues speaking with Bralin "Anyone betting against the One Percent should be quite angry. They had access to the stewards room and by now likely have inside information on every other team here. The betting odds against them are likely very wrong.

You know, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was the one that paid that mage to rig the gauntlet. The one that got caught out casting the wrong preparation spell. The dark elf turned him into a rat"

The thing is, what Kale said was a lie. Everything Tahni has said is true. Chances are those nearby will have heard rumours of the rat-wizard, which would give her even more credibility (should anyone doubt the honor of a DC member).

She feels pretty confident the other competing teams will believe her too. Hmmm. Perhaps the Last Whisper should hear of this? They probably wouldn't take too kindly to people cheating them.

Fang grunts and finishes the bite of food she was chewing. "Everything I"ve seen about the organizers paints them as rich incompetents interested in money and gambling. I doubt it would be hard for someone to bribe, sneak, or force their way into the information. Any of the competitors is far more capable then those that in theory are running the show."

"Sorry about that Gort. I assure you that I am quite alright, that was just a phrase I recall hearing once. But never mind about that.

"It shouldn't surprise anyone that the Chancer's would have our information. Nor does it surprise me that certain wealthy or influential people would be give access to it so they could cheat. Honesty and integrity seems to be a rare thing among the rich and powerful."

For the first time, Tahni starts paying attention to this bout. She hasn't seen Terser injured like this for a long time. She or Rill are typically at hand to patch him up. She really isn't entirely sure how much more he can take. What she IS sure of though is that he's not going to quit.

Tencent growls as Terser headbuts. The dwarves legs kick, and Tencent tumbles backwards into the water. The crocodiles, happy for another chance at a meal, immediately start snapping at the wet bear.

Readied / Crocodile 1: Hits AC 35 for 22 damage. (After resist.)
Readied / Crocodile 2: Misses AC 25.

Roaring with fury, Tencent again falls into his more instinctive, animal behaviors. He tears into the crocodile that wounded him, ripping huge chunks of scale and meat off the beast. The crocodiles respond in kind, swarming and gnashing at the werebear.

Tencent: 153
Crocodile: 59 damage.
Crocodie: 0 damage.

Terser figures that if HE can easily resist the vapors, it isn't hard for Tencent either. Its not that the werebear is immune, he's just quite hardy.

Bralin observes the fight along with Tahni. Things look grim for their friend, but he's not lost heart. In fact, he's maybe turned things around. Fang and Rill consider whether or not the Chancers are using the information irresponsibly, or at the very least, if there's someone pulling their strings.

Another thought occurs to them. Up until this very moment, it's very possible that only they and the Chancers knew of the personnel files. Now there's Gort, and whomever else might have heard.

Not wasting the opportunity, Terser whings his hammer at the bear in the water 3 times. Maybe he'll get an unlucky gasp that makes him succumb a little bit to the ick.

As the discussion continues around her Aex senses Tahni's worries for Terser... she sides with Tahni observing the battle. The little Greenmage's hand instinctively grabs a wooden lifewood flask...

Bralin is caught up in the fight now, cheering Terser on.

Rill considers the fact that others may now know of the Chancer's files.

You know, if our conversation with Kale about them offering secret Chancer files on everyone gets out, perhaps it's for the best. This whole thing seems really designed for the Chancer's benefit, and I can't really see that it benefits anyone else. I wonder if there is something positive that comes out of these games that I'm missing.

And to Terser, Terser, you have really turned this thing around. Nice work using the arena to your benefit! Very resourceful.

Rill feels very proud to be associated with the Sea Dragons as he watches Terser fight.

"It's a sporting event. They're probably making bank off the gambling, merchandising, and ticket costs. I doubt it serves any greater purpose to the Chancers or anyone else."

She also cheers on Terser as he possibly turns it all around.

Tahni nods along with Fang "The Chancers run the tournament, choose the competitors, set the rules and then have their own team. Hey, did we ever find out how the rounds were determined? Did anyone actually see the drawing or did the Chancer's come up with that too?"

She stops to consider this a little further "Their competitors drew each other for the first round. No other team did. That means they were guaranteed someone making it to the second round. Hmm. Khale beating Bokkun was a huge upset. What do you think the chances are that they placed a large bet of their own on Khale and then threw the fight? If you're going to lose the next round anyway, might as well make some coin first"

Not interfering Aex listens to the discussion through the rings. That indeed all makes sense...
Seeing how well all have performed she's worried she wont do equal if she must enter the arena... she's small... no one would notice if she slips of?!? No... that's not the way of tye Dragons...

Jozhur stands up as Terser knocks his foe in the drink again. Way to use your head.

Ken asked me to fill in, but didn't notice until late. Don't have time to catch up on the out-of-combat actions, just the combat round. Sorry folks!

Terser doesn't waste the opportunity. He presses his attack, but that Tencent is fast. Still manages a hit that leaves a nasty bruise on the wearbear's bicep. Can't see it under all that fur, but your DM assures you it's quite nasty.

Tencent continues surviving against the vapors, but figures its only a matter of time before even he can't fight them anymore. In an impressive feat of physical ability, he places one hand on the edge of the pool and jumps, somersaulting up and out in a single fluid motion. The nearest croc manages to snap one final time, but Tencent's too fast.

Croc AoO: Hit AC 22 - miss

He shakes, sending scummy water flying everywhere. The crocs slide beneath the muck, waiting for their next chance at dinner. The bloodied, beaten wearbear looks across the bridge at the bloodied, beaten dwarf and huffs.

Full round action: withdraw

Terser steps back a step from the edge so he doesn't end up the next one in the water. He doesn't power attack, since he's been having a dickens of a time connecting, and instead tries to make every shot count. It seems to pay off, as he connects several times.

forgetting if a 34 hits, but at least 2 should. subtract the first hit if it doesn't

Tahni still isn't quite sure who is winning this fight. They're quite evenly matched. She wonders what the fight would have been like if it was on normal ground - no crocodiles, pit or toxic vapors.
