Some of you are surprised that this world proved to be so easy to solve. It's almost as if some cosmic force wants you to finish your mission by a certain time so that you're ready for the next one.
Fang and Bralin destroy the device, while Rill hands out prizes.
You gather together, and speak the command word. And then....
You are home. You are standing in the street outside Portside house, in the middle of a rather chilly, overcast day. Waiting for you, smiling, is Flora, Queen Maab's nymph messenger. She is not at all dressed for the cold, but she doesn't seem to feel it.
"Oh, you made it!" she exclaims, clapping her hands. "My lady will be so pleased. And the gods, of course. I'm sorry there's nobody more important to greet you, but everyone is so happy you succeeded!"

Terser keeps his initial thoughts through the ring. "I thought we were supposed to catch up to the Tinker? If we don't catch and stop him, what's to keep him from trying again? Something seems suspicious."

"I can take the scroll," Bralin tells Rill. "I have limited spellcasting ability, but it should suffice."
And then, they are back in Bonetown.
Like Terser, Bralin feels the trip is unfinished. But, he has long given up attempting to understand the workings of the gods.
Instead, he heads to the tavern. It has been some time since he's had a decent ale.

Aex's head spins... going from one world to the other has proven to weigh heavy on her mind... not finding the Tinker... being trapped in another body earlier... the Abyss that will be etched in her memory for all eternity... Too much... this is too much...
The little greenmage does nothing but shaking her head and looking rather bewildered.

Fang doesn't buy this for a second. "That's it? The universe might end, go break a few things and then come back, don't worry about the guy responsible? I'm a healer and you don't treat the symptoms, you cure the disease, and leaving this unfinished is just asking for the problem to repeat."

Rill will bow to this messenger of Queen Maab.
"Flora, we are most pleased that you are here. You are indeed an important personage, but I am a bit confused. We were sent on this quest by Gimp on behalf of Pantheon, not the good Queen Maab. And while we were told that our first priority was disabling these devices, we also need to stop this Tinker person that created them lest he simply make more.
"Do you know anything about Tinker, where he may be now, what he's up to? Have you heard from Pantheon on this matter? If not, is there some way we can perhaps speak to Gimp as well about this?"

The abrupt end to your adventure leaves many of you bewildered. What of the Tinker?
Rill asks about Pantheon.
"The gods were united on this," Flora replies. She wrinkles her nose. "Well, most of them. It was--what's the expression?--a team effort. My Lady played a part, too, albeit a very small one. I'm here now because," she shrugs, "I was available."
Rill also asks about the Tinker. "Bringing the Tinker to justice was secondary," Flora replies. "The primary concern was the devices, and you succeeded at deactivating those. I do not know what future plans the gods have for the Tinker, but I know they have not forgotten about him."
Tahni asks whether you need to report to Queen Maab. "That won't be necessary," Flora replies. "But that reminds me. I do have a gift for you." She produces a lacquered box, and opens it to show you what is inside. You see five Planar Forks, neatly labeled: The Mire, The Empire, Scorch, The Glade, Nightfall. "So that you may return, if you wish." She hands the box over.
"Again, you have the heartfelt thanks of my Lady and all the gods," she says. "You saved millions of lives. You are true heroes."

Rill looks at the forks, curious about their use. Rill would like to know the limits of these things before he tries to use them in a pinch.
"Thank you for the gift Flora. Can these items only be used once, or are they permanent items? How are they used, and will they transport our entire group at once? Will they also return us to the Wold, and if so how?
"As for the Tinker, it seems odd to me that he is allowed to roam about after he tried to end everything everywhere. Please convey to Maab that I respectfully request to know more about why the Tinker did what he did, and why we were not allowed to pursue him further.
"After unquestioningly doing as the gods commanded, it seems reasonable to ask how this story ends."
Rill will take some time to pray later, asking Gargul these same things.

If the others don't sense any trickery, then Terser is satisfied. Perhaps the Tinker has run out of places for his devices. Hopefully, someone will bring him in before he hatches a new scheme.

Fang grumbles a little but has no idea what to do about it. They have no way of tracking the Tinker after all. "If we have to do this whole thing over again in a month then I reserve the right to say "I told you so."

Perhaps this was a coordinated effort where one team disables the devices whilst another hunts the source? It wouldn't be the first time such a thing was to happen.

Jozhur isn't very willing to just blindly trust what he is being told. He doesn't entirely trust that this is actually Flora. He stares at her, rather uncomfortably, trying to discern any fraud. He certainly got a very good look at her the first time they met.

You won't be tracking down the Tinker, at least not anytime soon, and your reactions range from disappointment to suspicion. However, Jozhur notices nothing untoward, and is pretty convinced this is the same Flora.
Fang, however, reserves the right to say "I told you so." "I think that's reasonable," Flora says, "but I don't think we need worry about it."
Rill asks about the Planar Forks. "There is a spell called Plane Shift," she replies. "I cannot cast it, so I'm not sure how it works exactly, but I know you need a fork tuned to the plane you want to visit. I believe that a single casting of the spell would move all of you, but I'm not sure."
She smiles at you once last time, you say your farewells, and she is gone. And Bralin can finally get that ale.

The dwarf gets his ale, and then returns to the group's house.
Once more feeling a pull toward rock and stone, he resolves to spend more free time in the company of the local stonemasons and artisans, comparing notes.

Rill will cast Detect Magic on the tuning forks in the box, and perhaps work with Tahni to identify them. These could be quite useful in a pinch.
(OOC: The DM got back to me on these Fate Item tuning forks. They are not magic items. They are the tuning fork foci that allow someone casting Plane Shift to access five of the locations we visited in the last adventure. If anyone is up for a vacation, Rill can cast Plane Shift to get you there.)

He will also go to the Temple of Rest, the local Gargul temple to check in with the head priest there and see what news there may be of things that have happened in town since the Sea Dragons have been gone.

Since Jozhur has confirmed her identify, Terser tips his non-existent hat to Flora and thanks her for conveying the message. It's been such a mad dash around the last few days that it will be nice to take a bit of a break.
He conveys some extra thanks to those that have been directing them in their attempts at good deeds, both for becoming dragons and after. He can only trust the Gods that their future guidance will be so inspired.

With Flora now gone (ooc along with DM Kathy - it's been a wonderful ride Kathy and I hate to see you go - but welcome of course to our new DM's!!) Aex considers it's about time to head into the forest with Leafy for some time crafting, training and enjoying the calm of the forest.
