Compass in a sphere, the sphere has continual flame cast on it allowing it to be used to light the compass at night.

The group is welcomed back to the ship. You realize it is not even noon yet. Anyone going to secure the Orc, chains, manacles, rope?

You can travel down the river some if you want. Basically looks like a 4 day trek into the jungle.

Bartomus was lost in his thoughts as he helped with the gathering and carrying everything back to the boat. He listened but he was a bit lost trying to focus on balancing things and following with the others. He got on the boat and listened.

A bit later, he asked, "So what's the risk to the boat if sail it up the river to a point that we can disembark and chase after whatever it is in the forest? Oh, Malici, did your father like traps, puzzles, ancient dead things, oh or metal spiders?"

Stock overseas the securing of the prisoner and then says to Bart, "Malici seems to think we need to head North/North east. Maybe we head southeast along the river until Malici's bearing is due north. I'd rather leave the boat closer to the lake than further up river. Another option would be to sail back into the lake and land at a location that is due east of his marker. Thoughts?"

"The river is large enough I think the boat can safely left in the river, they can cross to the other shore or the middle if something comes. Hopefully things are back to their relatively safe levels around here, but always good to consider. I think docking where the signal is due north will be easier going."

Zanderallen still feels a little weak and consults Micah, "Micah, one of those orc shamans hit me with some foul magic that feels to still be sapping some of my strength, do you know if it will pass or is more attention required?"

Delia looks between Ohen and Bartomus, "Metal spiders? Both of you? That sounds like a story, but unless I missed something it's gotta be different ones."

Remembering that she got a little beat up, she will also approach Micah and request some patch up.

"Were we planning on checking in on Cutter while we're in the area?"

(OOC) The orcs were the ones who raided Cutter right? Or am I mixing that up...

Bartomus rattles off some questions.
Stohp expertly ties up the orc.
Stock wonders what the closest route to the target would be (basically leaving the boat on the river, due south of the dot).
Zanderallen proposes leaving the boat on the river and asks about his condition. (You can wait or a Restoration spell would fix it.)
Ohen also complains of weakness.
Delia requests some healing. (Yes the orcs attacked Cutter. Going to cutter and then coming back would essentially be back tracking, not to mention lengthen the story.) ;)

Malici pauses in thought and tries to answer Bartomus, "As I remember he was pretty straight forward about things. He was not to subtle in what he expected of us."

Technically after you level up, you could try to identify the belts. You need to get at least a 23 on your roll.

On the one hand Stohp would prefer to leave the orc tied up at the ship. On the other he seemed like he'd be strong enough to burst the ropes and kill everyone on the ship as soon as they leave. Stohp consults the others for options, and if they can get the orc safely stowed suggests they get going to the next medallion destination.

Micah looks at Ohen with deep concern. "My deepest apologizes for not noticing your injuries." He asks the others to make sure no one else has been harmed. He responds to Zanderallen's question, "The spell effects will eventually fade and the result will not be permanent. I will pray for healing for you as well so that your recovery is immediately."

Given time he will pray to fill a 3rd, 4th, and 5th level open slot with blindness (3rd) and two castings of restoration (4th).

After spending the time in prayer, Micah restores Zanderallen's level drain and Ohen's poison damage. He then casts blindness of the orc. [Fortitude Save DC 20 or be permanently blind]. He explains, "If he awakes while we are gone, assuming he did not resist the power of the spell, the crew can explain to him that his blindness will be removed by me when I return."

Micah endorses Stohp's suggestion to move to the next location as quickly as possible journeying by boat as long as they can.

If the orc awakes before they have to leave the boat, Micah will cast comprehend languages on Stock before they begin the interrogation.

"Well, then I guess we just start walking and see what a dead dragon leaving curses on his four children might leave hiding in the trees," bartomus said with a smirk. He took some time to get look over the things they had recovered and that had been identified.

"We take that compass for sure, especially if we are trying to find our way back to the ship. Dragon dude's guidance system will get us to something, but won't work on getting us back to our ride out of here." The taur points and winks at Malici.

"Also, we take ever one of those darned potions, every single one. Still not thinking his dead daddy is just going to let the winner of the There Can Only Be One fight to the death waltz in and claim his horde and fortune."

You have plenty of time and as pointed out previously Delia needs to rest or I'm going to start making her roll fatigue challenges. Also if you want to level up before you get into the forest, then you need to rest overnight.

Consensus sets in and while Stock takes the tiller they don't have to go far before they are due south of the direction Malici has indicated as being 'there's something over there'.

The Orc prisoner awakens and starts screaming loudly in orc and then switches to common. "You cheatin' 'umans, wat you don me? I no see. I smell you stink."

Micah gauges the orc's reaction. A bit remorseful at his ruthlessness in dealing with the orc, he nonetheless is committed to protecting their crew.

He waits for the orc to run out of breath, then, calmly, he face directly in front of the bound prisoner, he says, "Your blindness can be temporary, but it depends on you. Realize that you are the lone survivor of the band that was ravaging our friends. Tell us about he who lead you. Where did he come from? How did he recruit you? Why did you raid where you did?"

Zanderallen thanks Micah for his healing and let's Micah and Stock handle the prisoner. He does speak up in Delia's defense, "As much as we may want to push ahead straight away we need to rest. We have pushed our new companion rather hard in her scouting. I think it might be wise to rest here on the bank and set off first thing in the morning."

Seeing the possibility for a brief respite, Bartomus took a moment and stretched out on the ship's deck. His intention was to rest his eyes while listening to those about him.

"If we can sleep, that would be a good move for all of us. We don't know what is going to be going on in the forest. As much rest we can get, hit it fresh and then keep at it with the rest, we should be ready for most things."

As Zanderallen speaks up for Delia, he realizes that she found an out of the way spot on board and settled down for a rest immediately. At least, it can be assumed that the cloak wrapped form is hers, as Hawky is protectively perched on it and fixes anyone who approaches with a warning glare.

When the orc begins shouting, Hawky makes a soft sound to reassure his human that the other no-wings have it handled and she remains wrapped in her cloak.

"I can take a watch, but not going to lie, a bit of shut eye sounds good as well." Bartomus offered. He started seeing something in his mind about how he might be able to cast a spell and hold just that spell in his glave. It was something that just crept into his mind and he thought sleeping on it might help him sort that out.

"When we start out tomorrow, you want us to do scout on ahead - by foot and by air like we did last time, folks?"

Micah nods assent, knowing the orc cannot see him doing so, at Stohp's response to him.

Before they rest, Micah will make sure everyone is fully healed (except their prisoner, of course).

He defers to the others to plan their route, but will spend the morning in prayer asking for slightly different spells.

He spends the rest of the day caring for his equipment and keeping a kindly eye on Malici. He takes his standard watch during the night and wakes ready to head back into the woods.

After her hard crash, Delia wakes, unbundling herself from her cloak. She spends a quiet moment before they head out at the bow of the ship, enjoying the gentle rocking of the river and the cool air before she straightens up, stretches, and waits for the party to rise.

Once the party is up and gathered, Delia bluntly offers, "I'm happy to scout ahead again, but once we're close to the known, potential threat, let's have a more concrete plan than last time scouts were sent out. The camp exploding is an effective signal, but not having any timetable on it made for a long stakeout."

The day and night pass uneventfully. Though Zanderallen needs to make specified Perception check of 15 Highlight to display spoiler: {That night as you occasionally watch Malici you note that he does not seem to be sleeping much. He's pointedly staring away from the forest and into the river.}

As dawn breaks you look ahead into the forest. Yes Delia it's forest terrain, and it's considered difficult to most humanoids, but not you. From the reading's Malici took and the sketing on the map, anyone can make knowledge geograpy Highlight to display spoiler: {You think you have at least a 3 day trip in the forest/jungle based on your other excursions into the woods.}

Please set a marching order and spacing you wish to have between your characters.....as in how far are the scouts going to scout ahead?

Stohp is maybe able to determine the distance they'll be traveling (you didn't set a DC?) but probably not, it's not her area of expertise (don't think I can roll that untrained anyway). She double checks on the rations for the ship - will the ship have enough to stay, or do they need to send it back with the prisoner and call for a ride when they're done?

The first day out, Micah will take the time to cast divination. Clearing out a place, he asks the others to keep watch while he burns and spreads the required incense. That same day, he prepares commune, but does not initially cast it.

Once prepared he asks, Lord Domi, what advice do you have for us, your servants, as we enter the location, the medallion point us to?

When marching, Micah will stay in the middle of those not scouting and defer to the others as to the spacing of scouts.

Zander takes note of Malici and tries to put him at ease, or atleast convince him to get some shut eye, "Malici, friend. Staying awake and looking away from it will change nothing about your father's legacy. You will meet it head on soon enough. And then you can look it in the eye and say, 'I am not defined by you, I have chosen my own path.' And we'll be right alongside you as friends. Now go get some sleep, worrying will do you no good." Zander will not be happy until Malici atleast lies down and appears to attempt to get some rest.

Delia looks at the map, starting to calculate the time/distance it would take her to reach their destination, then she pauses and restarts, remembering that she is the anomaly. I'm assuming a 31 will get it

She watches, fascinated and reverent, as Micah communicates with his deity, taking care that no one disturbs him. If Bart wants to join in the scouting, she will coordinate with him on distance. If he has no strong opinions, she will range out around 200 ft ahead of the party for now.

Bartomus tried to figure out the distance that was needed to get wherever they had to go, but simply guessed it was going to be a long march.

He took his assigned watch and then made sure to get a much-needed rest.

When they got up and dealt with breakfast, he listened to Delia's suggestion for scouting. "Delia - let's double scout. I can keep up with you, so maybe we each be 100 paces ahead of the party but spread out by some fifty paces or so?"

"I can jump up into the air if there is a need to do so and go further ahead, but if we are going to have to walk a good while, I say, we just make the best of it."

Stohp thinks she knows how long the journey will take. It's probably better for the ship to stay.
Micah does some casting.
Zanderallen convinces Malici to get some rest, hero point for helping that story aspect along.
Ohen is ready to travel.
Delia is brave in setting up her scouting pattern.
Bartomus also thinks staying well ahead of the party is a fun option.

Micah sits and awaits Domi's presence. In his mind he hears, "The unseen can be seen but the mind must be quick. Be watchful."

Scouts must make perception 30 check Highlight to display spoiler: {The vegetation seems pretty heavy, doing some snooping you discover a small stream appears to be snaking through the woods headed north. Sometimes it appears to go underground. It's never deep, maybe 3-4 inches, but sometimes it's fairly wide. The stream would make easier progress for the party.}

Bartomus started off from beside Delia and headed out at an angle to a point outside of camp where he cold see, or thought he saw, his fellow Shield scouting ahead of everyone else. Then he started walking, well striding actually through the woodlands. There were a lot of pretty trees, tall trees, big trees, green trees, little trees, leafy trees, and even some dead trees. There were a lot of trees whenever he looked about.

So, had made a perception at the end of the previous post that was a complete fail, did role again, and a fail but not as bad (1) as the earlier one. Post reflects Bart's ability to perceive lots of trees. ;-)

Spotting an easier path, Delia heads back to let the party know, likely unnoticed til she speaks, "As long as no one minds getting their boots wet, there's a stream that gives a break in the undergrowth. Headed north." She'll lead the party to it before resuming her place ahead of the Shields, checking to make sure the stream stays in a northernly direction.

Noticing Bart's distraction, she'll stop by him for a moment and say, "Not used to seeing natural things bigger than you?"

Zanderallen marches along with the rest of the group. He takes a position alongside when possible, or immediately in front of Malici asking him about his recent travels, any questions he had about the Float, the most exciting place he's visited, basically anything to keep his mind off what waited ahead. If the conversation seems to be unduly bothering the half dragon Zander slips into respectful silence.

Delia points the stream out to the party.
Micah hits the trail.

The party marches north. The vegetation seems pretty heavy, but the small stream appears to be snaking through the woods headed north. Sometimes it appears to go underground. It's never deep, maybe 3-4 inches, but sometimes it's fairly wide sometimes it's a 3 feet across and sometimes 20 feet. Naturally it deeper where it's less wide. The party soon realizes that while walking in the stream is making progress faster, their boots are not water tight. Soon the leather is soaked, and so too are your socks and feet.
Reflex check of 15 or you develop a blister.

Malici walks with the others. He responds to Zander, "I have not traveled much recently, instead living in a small shack along the edge of the Culverwood. But in the past I went to Plateau City. It was certainly a huge metropolis, but I found the intrigues of the streets to often be trying. Their are far too many people just eking out a living, and far too many people seeking to take advantage of others. Often my travels have given me pause to wonder about humanity as a whole....and along with that the role of governments and what they should be and do, and how various people's try differing forms of government. Take the Drow in the Scab. Certainly they are surface Drow, but they seem to cling to many of their old ways and forms of government. Is there way better than say the Float's form of government? Or the Emerald Kingdom's form of government. Each seem flawed in some way." He pauses for a bit and walks along. "Did you realize, no person ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and it's not the same man."

Stohp is a taur and incapable of wearing boots. Her tough hooves protect her from rocks in the stream bed and there is no leather or socks to chaff and give her blisters. She offers her own thoughts on government and things. "People aren't perfect, so no government system will ever be perfect. We can only try things and try to change them as problems are discovered."

Zander has honed his body for endurance and a little water does nothing to hinder him. Better to make faster time. He grimaces in sympathy for Malici and hopes the talking keeps his mind off the worst of his pain. "Those who rule face many challenges, and the unique governance of the Float has it's own challenges. Nothing will be perfect so we must each look for how we can make life a little better for those around us, and chastise those who cause harm. You aren't looking to get into politics after this is all over are you?"

He had continued walking and looking back and forth to Delia and the party behind him. The wet ground was easier to walk through, but as the day wore on finding a camping spot where a good warm fire could dry things out would be of great help.

Delia looks down at Stock, somehow able to keep a straight face and says, "Mmm, might be up to knee high on a guy so reasonably heighted as you."

Once it gets close to dark, Delia keeps a sharp eye out for a good camp site. Spotting the dry, sheltered spot, she goes to investigate before directing her allies to it. Seeing the blade in the dirt, but not touching it, she will look around for any other signs of a this being an abandoned camp or a trap. If it seems clear, she'll ghost back to the group "I found a promising site, but there's a really odd sword left behind in the dirt... I left it alone for now."

Malici responds to Zachary, "Well not really, but it seems on my mind a lot recently."

Malici laughs at Ohen. "But the stream is constantly moving so the water you step on with each step always slides away never to be stepped on again, at least by you."

Delia has pointed out a place to rest. It seems somewhat sheltered and there is a lot of dry firewood around.

Although he grew up on a city floating in a lake, Micah spent little time actually around water. As the water seeps into his boots, he still manages to adapt.

As they discover the sword, he casts detect magic and quickly identifies its properties and informs the others. He nods in agreement with Stohp as she shares what it is made of.

Micah will take last watch.

Before they turn in for the evening, he channels energy to heal any blisters caused by trudging through the wet.

"A cold iron sword with a minor enchantment. Should be good against fey or demons. The whole hostile forest thing definitely sounds like fey though."

After Malici answers Stohp that that type of sword was used by lizard folk guards who lived in his father's city.

Bartomus missed everything about the site, but took a lot of interest in the discussion of the found sword.

"Now, remember the Fey aren't everything everyone makes them out to be," he offered as he looked over the shoulders at the sword. He nodded in agreement with the assessment of the blade being cold iron. "I mean King Eberyon has been pretty helpful a few times to us Shields."

Bartomus winked and listened to the potential former user of the sword. "Lizardmen, wait, wait, could their descendants be the folks we helped? Would that building with the moving shades and pretty grass be something from your pop's estates?"

As an historical reminder. Remember, up to a year or two ago this whole forest was sentient and it was insane, AND it hated ALL non plant living things.

Stohp inspects the sword.
Micah identifies the sword and heals the blisters.
Stock admires the sword and brings up the fey.
Ohen wonders if they are close.
Bartomus defends the fey and connects some dots. Hero point to Bartomus for realizing that while the lizard folk you-all helped in earlier modules may or may not have been descendants, they were at the very least related. All Lizard Folk in this Forest were under the reign of the Green Dragons and up to a little over a decade ago is when the last Green Dragon was slain.

Night passes mostly uneventfully. It is still quiet for the forest does not have wildlife....or insect life. You do occasionally hear the flop of a small fish in the stream near by. It is still a bit spooky this lack of activity in the forest.

Morning approaches and you make ready to move on. Malici looks pensive and rotates 360 degrees a few times. [b]"I still feel something drawing me in this direction."[b] He indicates the mostly northerly path you've been set upon.

Bartomus rested well. When he awoke and did his morning meditations, it was quiet. REALLY QUIET. There was nothing - no birds, no squirrels, not even flies. There were always flies or can'tsee'ems. Nothing. Surely, eventually, nature in all of her glory would make inroads into the forest, he thought.

They started forward and he took to the right of the part scouting about the few hundred paces ahead of the rest of the Shields. A fish, there were at least fish, flopped in the stream and it caught its attention. Maybe, just maybe nature was trying to reclaim the wilds. He noticed that there was a different color to the stream bottom - the sand was different. He looked at it repeatedly and then stepped onto a patch of it near the stream. It was squishy...

Then his foot kept going and there was no resistance. NONE.

"FRIG - QUICK SAND - HELP" He bellowed and then swung his glave about looking for something that it could stick in and at least anchor him as he continued to sink.

The weird hours of the previous mission apparently took their toll on Delia, as she spaced out during the night. Fortunately, the night was uneventful and she starts out their next leg of the trip refreshed and alert.

While scouting with Bartomus, she also notices the strange patches of sand (Perception 35). She prepares to prod at one with her bow as Bart's shout breaks into the silence. Surging into action and cursing vividly, she runs to help, first trying to heave the much larger Taur out of the quicksand. (Str check 9) If unsuccessful, she then pulls out her rope, gives Bart one end and wrapping the other end around a large nearby tree to create a pulley.

Assuming she and Bart can leverage him out of the sand, she will sit and wait on the bank of the stream to catch her breath and make sure no one else gets sucked in.

Snapped out his reverie by Bart's cry and Delia's cursing, Zander moves forward to where Delia directs him to help tug their big friend out.

Bartomus, infatuated with the primordial forest, falls into the quicksand.
Delia tries to reach the Bartomus with her hands and pull him out while staying away from the quicksand, she fails. But she does toss him a rope and secure it to a tree.
Stohp is going to throw a rope to Bartomus but see's Delia has already done that.
Micah buffs his strength and adds in with the rope.
Stock tries to help on the rope as well, chiding Bartomus for not turning into some sort of elemental to get out of the situation.
Zanderallen goes forward to help out as well.

With everyone pulling on the rope you manage to get Bartomus out of the quicksand. There is a definite popping sound as he is pulled free. That must have been some powerful quicksand. Good thing it was not lighting sand.

Malici comes up but seeing that things are in hand stands to the side of the stream. "That's a strange looking plant. Ouch." Then he falls to the ground. The plant he is near looks like a clump of flowers about 3 feet tall. The flowers are a purplish color with large yellow stamen in the center. It almost looks like the flowers turn toward you.

You'd almost swear it's a sudden onset migraine....or something that could cause the same effect.}

Delia sees Malici collapse and moves over to him to check him, running through the flowers he remarked on with no concern. Kneeling down, she sees that he's locking up and looks to be in severe pain.
She'll roll Malici onto his side, just in case, and look up at Micah, "What did you do to help him before? Dunno exactly what happened then, but could his dragon dad...?" she lets the sentence trail off, unsure how to phrase the thought of the green dragon possibly trying to take over Malici.

"Whew, thanks everyone, that was well, yea, thanks." Bartomus said with a bit of embarrassment. "You know, I thought about turning into something, but wasn't really sure what and well, yelling for help was what came out."

He took a couple of deep breaths and got his bearing just in time to see Malici drop to the ground and Delia rush from teh rope over to the fallen dragon laddie. Bartomus looked back at the flowers and replayed what he had seen when the guy fell to the ground. Something was odd. "Don't think it's the flowers, but not sure what caused him to fall to the ground."

Listening to Delia, Bartomus nods thinking that maybe she was on to something.

Micah notices the odd behavior of the plants and the sudden collapse of Malici. Responding to Delia's suggestion, he casts protection from evil on him. Not wishing to get too close to the strangely behaving flowers, the priest uses the power of his shield to cast the spell at a distance.

With Deila and Bart seeming to give the flowers the all clear Zander moves up to Malici's side to assist. He takes and breath and begins calling on Domi's power but Micah beats him to it and he lets the tension out. He then re-focuses his concentration and begins scanning the area with Detect Evil just to be safe.

Bartomus is happy to be out of quicksand.
Stohp stomps on the flowers and notices her hoves turning a lovely shade of purple in the pulp of the flower petals.
Micah's shield gives off a ping as he spell is cast at a distance.
Zanderallen does his detect evil routine.
Ohen tries to ascertain what's up.

Malici gets up with Delia's help. "Suddenly felt like the screams of thousands of people shouting in my head. Sorta like that old tale of the fall of Alderon." He shakes his head and massages his temple. "Very weird sensation though. But I get a sense that it was something that happened in the past???"

Zanderallen focuses on Malici and gets no evil sensation....however, there's something faint off in the extreme range of his senses (so 60 feet) away from the stream and in the forest. Zanderallen leads the party into the forest and they see a ring of mushrooms, but the center area is shriveled and dying.

Bartomus followed along as Zander led the into the forest. He was looking about and then he saw it.

"Hold up, hold up." Bartomus moved forward and came up to about one stride back from the ring. He looked about, listened, and then studied the center again.

"One of fey's. He said as he squatted down and continued his stare. "Nothing good about the way that looks."

He fished his fingers into one of the small pouches in his vest and pulled out a gold coin. "Do you all just wanna leave it where it is at, or offer up something of an offering?"

Micah frowns as he examines the ring. Without taking his eyes away, he explains to the others, "The area in the center has been drained of life energy and the mushrooms are old, several weeks, maybe even back to the time of the 'winking' where the moon winked out and this set of events involving the medallion were put in motion."

"I am inclined to agree with you, Stohp, but we should make sure this does not pose some type of hazard to others before we leave it." He frowns in consideration of what they could do about it. "What about casting consecrate on it?"

Delia makes sure Malici is steady before releasing him, "Do you think it's some of your father's conquests or too far back for that?"

She'll move next to Bart to study the mushroom ring closely, but unlike him, she has had little dealings with the Fey and isn't sure what to make of it.

"Zander, is this where the evil you got is from? If so..." She looks at Bart, "How bad of an idea is it to burn it? Fey can be dangerous but leaving evil mushrooms seems like a bad idea. Especially if they are messing with or making it easier to mess with Malici's head."

Zanderallen feels the hair on the back of his neck stand up as he can feel the malice in this place. He leads them to the mushrooms but stays well back, a faint nausea forming from the feeling coming off them, "Steady Malici. I don't know how long this aura has been here, or if it a new manifestation of the old dragon's power. I don't know about fire in the middle of a forest, and as for consecrating it... I fear this may be just the edge of something much deeper. Might want to save that blessing for when we really need it. Remember Malici, you make your own path. Let's get away from here, although this is probably just a taste of what's to come."

Stock harrumphs in distaste at the foul mushrooms. The other's talk of echos and far distant evils make him uncomfortable, those things couldn't be solved with a stout blow. He follows along with the others keeping his eyes out for something that might need hitting.

Bartomus gives some info on the fairy ring.
Stohp is for marching on a quickly.
Micah wonders about casting consecrate on it.
Delia suggest purifying with fire.
Zanderallen suggests waiting and seeing what may come.
Stock decides he doesn't like mushrooms and wants to swat something.
Ohen likes the idea of burning the ring, but is fine with moving on.

Malici eyes the fairy ring. "That is mighty peculiar and just a bit passing strange." He does some conjuring. Spellcraft 16 Highlight to display spoiler: {Detect Magic} "Yes, Ohen, do you not see it as well. The ring is nexus point, or focal point, though it's power is fading." He studies it briefly. "I'd say it was some form of teleportation or gateway spell. Though the aftereffects leave one to seriously question the origin point." He stands there briefly studying it some more. "And I don't think your sleetstorm would do much good Ohen."

He swivels and asks Micah. "I'm not that up on the whole negative energy theories, but don't they have something to do with undead? And aren't undead immune to cold?" He scratches his head.

As the party marches on Malici blurts out, "Undead Fey? Anyone heard of any such thing?" The party continues their northern journey.

After a couple of hours....#1 Perception 25 (+10 if you have detect magic or detect evil going) Highlight to display spoiler: { You spot another fairy ring off to the side. It appears similar to the other one.}

And close to sunset, though really in the forest it's often twilighty vision wise, sunset just makes it REALLY DARK, #2 Perception 20 Highlight to display spoiler: { You spot a low mound and as you approach you realize that it is some knocked over statues. }

They do not appear to be too old, there is no chipping or weathering that you can determine. They also appear to have satchels and some sort of primitive backpacks.}

"Undead fey? I have heard of banished fey," he said with a shrug and started out on his scouting.

A few hours later, he saw another fairy ring.

"Hey, um, why would there be a second fairy ring? I mean like that other one, see?" He pointed over to the other ring. Studied it and then shrugged while moving onward.

As the day waned, he started looking about for a suitable place to camp. Seeing a small knoll ahead, he made his way towards it with more focus and clarity as he took in the site. He noticed that there were odd stone clumps and made his way towards them for a closer inspection.

"Hey, um, well this is odd. Well, maybe not so odd all things considering," he said aloud. He took some time looking at the things and realized they were carved statues that had been toppled. But, excited about his find, he turned about and waived at the others. "Got something here. Not sure what it is, statues it looks like."

Micah continues, actively renewing his detect magic spell as they go and notices the second fairy ring about the same time Bart mentions it. He inspects this one as well. Determining that it is similar to the the first one, he says so and suggest they keep moving.

Then a thought occurs to him, "Malici, do you get any impression from you medallion about these rings, or is the pull you feel still coming from ahead?"

As they approach the pile of statues, he continues to look with detect magic, recognizing nothing of significance about them without it.

"Undead... fey? How does that even work? They're supposed to all nature-y. Even the evil ones." As she's speaking, she does a quick inventory of her cold iron arrows, muttering about how she should have thought to get more, going into this forest.

As the deep twilight of this forest approaches, she casts Darkvision (9 hrs) on herself. Upon seeing the stones, she narrows her eyes and closely examines them. "Call me paranoid, but do statues this lifelike scream 'turned to stone' to anyone else? They're all unique..."

From their poses/expressions, do they seem to have been running or scared? Or fancy artsy pose? Sense Motive: 22

Stock spots the out of place objects but other than point them out he pays them little mind. However when Deila makes a comment about turned to stone he puts his survival skills to use, "Alright, everyone, stop stomping around everywhere and let me take a look around." He then takes a close circuit of the general area, using his natural dark vision to look for any tracks or signs of other creatures have been in the area.

Zanderallen keeps alert, still a little setup off by the feeling of the auras, and takes any opportunity he can to quickly sweep the area with detect evil. He asks a questions of Malici as they travel past the second circle, " Is it possible your father's domain may be on a different plane? We recently dealt with a pocket plane of a fallen deity that opened onto our plain. Could these fairy circles be the doorways? Or is the medallion still pointing you onward?"

Reaching the statues Zander feels his sense of danger mounting. He draws his sword and wills it to life, fire expanding up the blade to provide light to those examining the statues. And Zander isn't too proud to admit to himself that having it drawn provides some level of comfort. He does scan with Detect Evil. And offers additional light if it's needed.

"Yes. There are traces of Transmutation here. It has a very distinctive aura. These statues were almost certainly alive at some point."

Stohp marches along oblivious to the wilderness environment.
Bartomus notes another fairy ring and finds some statues.
Micah keeps scanning for magic.
Delia is very suspicious of the statues.
Stock has everyone freeze and tries to investigate the site.
Zanderallen draws his sword to light the torch of courage.
Ohen does his magic thing and thinks the statues were definitely made by a spell, like flesh to stone, could also be a basilisk, or a medusa.

At Micah's question, Malici pulls out his medallion and does the concentration routine. "Nope, definitely still north, not those things." Perception 20 Highlight to display spoiler: {You notice that Malici is sweating, his hand trembles slightly, and when he speaks it sounds like he could use a drink of water because his voice is just a bit raspy.}

Delia gets the impression that the statues may have been in the act of moving. Possibly fleeing something?

Stock scouts around. It appears that these statues may have been tripped over recently. You can see where they originally stood/crouched and something large seems to have taken a dislike to them and shoved them over.

Malici slowly puts away the medallion and answers Zanderallen, "No he was definitely on this plane and in this forest. A pocket plane you say. What fallen deity could that have been?"

When someone points out the statues to Stohp she frowns. "These might be petrified people. Is there any way to tell such things? Some sort of magic to detect if they once lived?" She's not sure if she should be keeping a wary eye out or covering her eyes so as to not accidentally gaze a basilisk or something.

Delia joins Stock in casing the scene, looking slightly sheepish that she got so distracted by the statues she didn't think about looking around first. "Hmm... it's been weeks, so it's hard to get detail. Who knows how many times it's rained since then... but whatever knocked them over is big, maybe tree-ish, and hasn't been here recently. Now we have to wonder if this encounter was a one-off, or if we've trespassed on something's territory."

Are the statues about the same age as the fairy rings and the moon thing, or not?

She looks at the magic users in the group, "Can any of you fix them?"

Micah shakes his head at Stohp's question, "I know of no way to determine for certain these were once alive, and the magic to reverse such an affect is not one Domi provides me."

The priest rummages through his bag. Retrieving a cloth bag, he starts tearing it into strips to make blindfolds. "Just in case, it is a gaze attack that caused this," he explains as he hands them out.

"Caeroldra. It was quite the place, as long as one didn't mind a selection of rare and dangerous creatures being set loose in the city.

Now as to these statues, you say they were pushed over recently, but likely they themselves have been here a long time. The forest has not been open to visitors for centuries. If we have the magic to attempt to turn one back we could try, although as damaged as they appear to be I'm not sure they would still be alive."


Zanderallen keeps an eye out, wondering what food source such a big creature would have in this area, other than nice juicy adventurers.

Stock gives up on his examination of the ground, annoyingly enough the human girl seemed quite capable of that sort of thing. He does notice Malici getting a little shaken and walks over to him, "Don't go passing out on us again, bucko. You're kind of important to this operation. "All I know is that they were changed. It's always possible the Transmutation I see is them turning from one material to another, say clay to stone, to make the sculpting easy. But I think the most likely explanation is they were alive. I do not know how to reverse it."

Stohp wonders about the statues.
Delia examines the scene....the treeish tracks would date back to the fairy rings. The statues have been here for years..decades...
Micah passes out some material for blindfolds.
Zanderallen questions reversing the statues to alive as they might be broken, in fact you can tell that the statues are all intact, no missing limbs or anything.
Stock checks on Malici.
Ohen does not know how to reverse such a transformation.

It is night fall. It would seem at least right now that this is a safe place to camp. Delia and Stock did not find any trace of a lizard track (basilisk) certainly no booted or bare feet except for yours (medusa), or even a chicken (cockatrice).

Malici takes the offered water skin and drinks deeply. "It is very disturbing." He says while eyeing the statues and still fingering the medallion.

Delia takes her standard third watch, Darkvision (9 hrs from twilight) should still be up for most.

During her watch, she mulls over the implications of being turned to stone for decades. Who were these women? Were they simple travelers who wandered into the wrong part of the forest or were they fleeing something in particular? What did their families know of what happened to them?

Watched ended, she lay in her bedroll, sadness for these lizardfolk who were frozen out of their lives filling her mind. Unsettled by the harm done to them, she made the decision that she would see them un-petrified. The magic users seemed to think it was possible, just not by them. Mind made up that she would help them even if it meant dragging someone who did have that ability out into the wilderness, she finally fell asleep.

Stock wakes from his pre-watch nap and gets out his stones. He carefully begins polishing them, using nothing but his darkvision to see what he's doing. He pulls out a blocky black and gray rock taken from the stone golem in the pocket plane and holds it, trying to make sense of the things the Shields are learning.

He grumbles, puts the stones away and begins sharpening his handaxe instead, scanning the forest for unwelcome visitors.

Delia takes third watch and is masterful at being aware. She also is deeply disturbed by the lizardfolk statues.
Micah takes last watch and tries to stay alert.
Stock contemplates the mystery of stone and watches the forest.
Zadnerallen is slightly more alert than his companion.
Ohen contemplates magic and wonders about a game of I spy with Stock.

Bartomus's and Stohp's watch passes by fairly uneventfully.

During Ohen and Stock's watch they faintly hear the far off sound of a stag running in the forest, but it's too far away and faint to really be a threat and does not approach the camp.. There is also unusually cold air that drifts by on the wind. (Yes from the direction of the hooves).

Delia also notes some very cold breezes occasionally, and once she thought she heard a far off bugle. The sound was vaguely like that of a summons to a hunt. But it was so distant perhaps her ears were playing tricks on her. In any case nothing approached the camp. She did notice that Malici was tossing and turning quite a bit.

During Micah's and Zanderallen's watch they see Malici stealthy approach the statues. Even with their poor rolls they can faintly hear him crying and him swearing to try and restore them to their proper selves.

Dawn such as it is in the forest, breaks. Malici still sits on his knees in front of the statues.

"Alright, another night in the past, another day about to start," Bartomus said to no one in particular as he stretched and put everything together in his kit. He then took a bit of time to himself and dealt with what was necessary and then found a place for his morning meditations.

He wandered back and caught sight of the small group at the statues. While curious, he also was hungry and saw that Stohp was working on breakfast. He made his way over there to lend a hand and waited to hear what was up with the dragonlad.

"Alright, same scouting approach Delia? I take the right you take the left, look for anything odd and make sure I avoid quicksand, right?"

"Look Malici, I get that you've had a rough go of it and lots of stuff happening, but look, when you see something and know something of it, we need you to share, even if it's hard. That way the rest of us can help support you and defend you better.

As she passes off her watch, Delia reports that she heard what sounded like a faint bugle and the odd cold. She would like to investigate the next morning if they can.

He slips the medallion out of his pocket and flings it away. Or at least it seems he did, all of you watching saw him cock back his arm and throw it, his hand open at the release point. But you also see the medallion still connected to one of his outstretched finger tips. "Oh my."

Delia pointedly asks Bartomus what he might know about the Fey, hunting horns, and the cold.

Bartomus kept playing over in his mind the question Delia had asked so emphatically. He spent some time on it as he scouted about and then he heard a bit of a whisper in the corner of his brain, something he hadn't really thought about for a really long, long time.

Life on the plains wasn't always easy, well it never was easy. But, winters were the worst - frozen meat from the animals that didn't make it, or dried meat, fruit, and stored grains from the harvest months. It was the time though of stories and tales.

"Hey Delia," he moved closer to her as they were walking out ahead. "There's an old story, lots of them actually, amongst the people that raised me about the green vapors filled with sharped tooth, barking and howling creatures like giant dogs, but not dogs, not wolves either, but like those. They ran as part of these hunters and all of the old timers warned about being out at night when they could suddenly appear with their firey bolts dropping creatures great and small in their pursuits. Usually, they said something about a distant, echoing sound as if someone was buggling but more enjoyable than one of us taur doing this."

He gave a soft buggle as he didn't want to scare his colleagues further back in the woods.

"Never thought of it as being something of King Eberyon's court. He always seems to me much more stylish, subtle, and such. But, those old fierce warriors, they always got a bit more serious when the stories were told of the hunters of the mists."

Domi grants courage to face all things, he repeats in his head, steadying himself with a deep breath and unconsciously adjusting various straps on his armor. Then watching Malici attempt to free himself of the medallion, he clasps him on the shoulder, "We are only enslaved to what we give ourselves over to. As you march on you encounter a few patches of wood that show signs of sudden and heavy frost damage. Not very much and when you did find it, you traced it in a roughly 40 foot diameter circle. There was nothing of note in the center, no fairy ring or any such thing.

The scouts at last spot an what appears to be a patch of less jungle. There are shafts of sunlight splitting through the trees and they can make out stonework, that appears to be walls.

Please place your selves on the southern part of the map below line 47. The lower dark green area, is not overgrown bush it's just dense jungle canopy.

Stock, the stone work looks old but pretty functional. Nothing fancy or up to dwarf standards. Since the Lizard folk statues nearby (AJ41 and AM41) are stone, you think they are pretty much the same as the previous ones. The figures seem to be in more of a defensive stance with those strange swords drawn and held before them.

Micah scans around but doesn't see anything magical within the 60 foot arc/range in front of him.

Delia also notes the Lizard folk statues nearby (AJ41 and AM41). They are larger than the lizard-folk that visited the Float. More bulky, built like they'd been lifting weights when they might have been alive. OF course it could just been an artistic rendition meant to frighten.

Bartomus notes the overgrown grass and weeds and the rough looking bushes. The tree's scattered about seem less old than what they've been walking through. He'd estimate the oldest at no more than 20 years of age.

Ohen determines that the two nearby lizard folk statues are enchanted in the same way the previous lizard folk statues were enchanted. Otherwise he detects nothing.

Malici stares into the clearing. "I remember that well. This must be the place.

At that point a strange looking man stands up on the other side of the well. Looking at him you see that he has green skin and green hair. He's a gnarled old man with skin like tree bark. Its hair and beard looks like Spanish moss with brambles and leaves knotted through it. He looks around as if he heard something.

Sorry, I momentarily forgot since I control the map in this game. Let me know where you move if moving and I will advance the sheet each 'round'. The game I'm in doesn't do that as the DM lets us move things around. Unfortunately while that is easier on the DM, I've seen some fudging of things from round to round as he doesn't even make new pages from round to round.

Five tiny creatures like some miniscule, wicked old men,bearing a medium sized sythe, metal boots and a blood-red pointed cap. Snarls and run away from you-all (this is from an action one of you did last round, not telling you what). You hear more shouts of "They holy, we in trouble. Master save us. Make them dead."

You spy 7 more of the red capped creatures (size small) around the ruins, but not running away.

Then a second green man appears. "Baiting them is foolish, they are to die or the cold ones can have them as recruits." It then drops an Entangle spell on Zanderallen. Reflex save 15 (Zanderallen, Ohen, Micah, and anyone that crosses into the area.)

The first green man appears. "When you're right you're right. Oh boys, remember the plan...."

Then 8 small sized creatures streak through the woods towards you in a pincher movement. This creature resembles a short and slight elf wearing drab clothes and a wicked grin. In a blink, the thing darts from sight.

And to make matters worse, 3 figures mounted an strange looking stags emerge from behind various ruins.Wisps of frosty vapor rise from this towering humanoid bedecked in silver-white armor. "So we're doing this," Bartomus grunted with a bit of frustration. I mean, he thought to himself, they're fey, like we should be willing to talk this out. Then he reached for the rod he had in his bag and he began calling lightning as he saw a red cap up to his right and in the corner of his right eye something small was streaking towards him through the forest undergrowth.

Holding the rod with his hand he snapped it at the red cap (R6) in front of him.

Zanderallen really didn't expect any other outcome, some fey were alright, some were just trouble, and then there were the fey that's sole enjoyment in life was hunting down mortals and torturing them. These seemed firmly in the third camp. Shaking off the vines that managed to get almost all the way around his boots he considers his options. Stepping forward would do nothing but get him surrounded and cut down by the cold riders. Keeping the difficult terrain of the entangle spell between himself and cavalry seemed a much better plan.

He takes a few steps back, slowed by the vines, and calls out a challenge as he draws his sword, flames dancing up the blade as he holds it high, "Then come and get us, you'll find no easy recruit in a servant of Domi!" Zander channels a divine spirit into his blade, enhancing it's magical prowess.

Stohp moves and throws a tanglefoot bag. (The quickling makes his reflex save. They have evasion but a tanglefoot bag doesn't cause damage normally. However, a slowed quickling is sickened and thus is damaged, so I'm going to rule that evasion would apply to the tanglefoot bag.)

Bartomus brings down a lighting bolt on the red cap. (You don't give me a target number to make my save. It's a third level spell, so I'm going to assume a 20 makes the save).

Stock moves and drinks a potion. He calls out, "Redcaps and quicklings need to be attacked with cold iron to be really effective. Redcaps can heal while they have that hat on. Slowing a quickling hurts it."

Zanderallen steps back taunting the green men while drawing his sword. (remember you are still in the area effect of the Entangle spell so you will need to save again. DC 15)

Micah moves and casts enlarge on Stock. His shield vibrates granting him more speed.

Ohen is entangled so he concentrates to cast some prepping spells.

With ice swirls behind him, red caps racing to him on his left and it appeared two were hiding behind the statues of the lizardmen, or the turned to stone lizard men. Bartomus realized he needed to protect himself and as he called down another bolt of lightning using a flick of the rod at the closest one trying to use the poor cold stoned lizard as some type of cover, Bartomus turned his skin into the metal of mechanized spiders and the shields of what he hoped were heroes.

Stock barrels out of the cold zone and obliterates a quickling into a pool of bloody bits and pieces.

Zanderallen beckons to the cold rider after struggling to free himself from the grass.

Micah escapes the cold and continues to beef up Stock.

Bartomus saw the wasps swarm about him and was grateful he pushed himself with armouring his skin. He made a note that he needed to learn to belch fire or maybe become fire as he slipped the wand into his pocket.

Ugh. I definitely typed up a post yesterday; must not have hit submit though. The other downside is that all of my rolls from yesterday are already loaded. I'll try to make these align as well as possible but there will be some extra here since there were two AOO's and 2 crits (1 unconfirmed) so a bunch of extra rolls.

Stock kills redcap 8.

Zanderallen moves away from the redcap and goes after the cold rider, drawing an AOO from the Red cap and from the Cold rider. Though clearly he hurts the Cold rider.

Delia....(technically Bartomus and the statue are clipping most of your target, however you have improved precise shot (cause ranger archers are broken) shoots at Cold Rider 3 hitting him multiple times and killing him.

Zanderallan and Delia witness the death of the cold rider. Before you're eyes you see his armor melt like ice in a desert, his glaive too melts away, left with only rags the skeleton underneath collapses, at that point you realize that his mount too was undead in nature as it too collapses in a pile of bones.

Green man 1 moves up to Zanderallen and with his left hand (his right is holding a wooden club) reaches out to touch him.
Touch attack - 24 (d20+11) success, Spell in effect Rusting Grasp. Zanderallen's armor takes 3 points AC damage. (note according to the spell, when the armor takes damage equivalent to the bonus it gives it is destroyed, does that bonus apply to the magical plus, or just the metal base bonus?)

Green man 2 moves and casts Wall of Thorns. I'm going to color code the wall to a purplish color 'cause my browns and greens are most of the background, at least the one's that show up pretty. He's caster level 17 on that spell group so that explains the size. Further, since Stock is no large, he's made it 10 feet high instead of the normal 5. No save, no spell resistance, however...
Any creature within the area of the spell when it is cast takes damage as if it had moved into the wall and is caught inside. In order to escape, it must attempt to push its way free, or it can wait until the spell ends. Creatures with the ability to pass through overgrown areas unhindered can pass through a wall of thorns at normal speed without taking damage.
DAMAGE: Any creature forced into or attempting to move through a wall of thorns takes piercing damage per round of movement equal to 25 minus the creature’s AC. Dexterity and dodge bonuses to AC do not count for this calculation. Creatures can force their way slowly through the wall by making a Strength check as a full-round action. For every 5 points by which the check exceeds 20, a creature moves 5 feet (up to a maximum distance equal to its normal land speed). Of course, moving or attempting to move through the thorns incurs damage as described above.

I believe that means Stock takes 2 damage and Micah takes NOTHING? really really????? We're going to have to fix that...

(I thought swarms didn't roll to hit, just hit automatically if you're in the space with them. Also Stohp is a large creature with 10 feet of reach regardless of weapon.)

Wall of thorns' damage description is one of those PF1E descriptions which is just overly complex. Anyway:
Current AC = 24 - 1 (DEX) - 1(Dodge) = 22; so 3 points of damage except Stock has DR 2/- so that's 1 point.
Move to O49/P50; to me this looks like 2 more points of damage from the wall.

Then as Ohen vanishes as well, she shrugs and steps behind Malici, aiming for the rider on him and readying herself for the possibility of Ohen's foes closing on her.

Stock bursts out of the wall of thorns and swings at the greenman...but misses.

Bartomus a large creature tries to swipe off the hat off a small creature (3 foot tall), it's rather comical looking but he succeeds.

Ohen goes poof and gets away from the baddies.

Delia rounds the tree and plants some arrows in the cold rider. The cold rider staggers and goes down. However, his gear is not dissolving like the last cold rider....could the zone of cold be a clue.

Micah calls on Domi to bless the actions of his companions. I wonder who kept that cold iron sword you guys found earlier.

Bartomus could see the wasps and see them chipping away at the armor, but he also had the red caps to deal with and that was equally frustrating. Stohp steps up and grapples the green man.

Bartomus swings his glaive and misses, probably the tight quarters.

Stock lays into the green man, only managing to hit because Stohp was hanging onto him.

Micah tries to move but finds the thorn bush particularly strong.

Ohen lets loose with a chain lighting. (save q 24, 13, c 29, r 11, 15) q4 + 3 dies, no one else does.

Zanderallen concentrates his attacks and kills the woodwise (green man 1, it did take both swings, but the second swing only needed to do 3 points damage).

Delia fires at the mean cold rider. (Which provokes I believe since he has reach.) She kills the Cold rider with her 3rd shot, but he would get his AOO... to hit (30, d20+12, damage 15 (d10+6) and 1 dex drain.

Stohp - His CMD is 25. I think that means you've failed to maintain the grapple. Greater Grapple says maintaining the grapple becomes a move action. It allows you two grapple checks to move, harm, pin, etc. It does not give you two actions. However, if I'm interpreting the reading right, you would still get another roll. I rolled a 31 for you, so you are able to maintain the grapple.

Stock - misinterpreting what's going on with the Greenman, turns and destroys the redcap behind him.

Bartomus - actually I don't believe Wild Shape is a swift action. It says per the spell Beast Shape 1. Also it appears there's a feat that allows you to do it as a swift or move action but it is not allowed with the Wold's rule-set. So you are a huge fire elemental, but no attacks this round. However, the wasp swarms on you are in your fiery presence and they do take damage. So 9 damage to three of the swarms.

Zanderallen manages to kill the red cap annoying him.

Ohen gives some magic missiles to the quickling. Unfortunately that's the first time he's taken any damage so he's still up.

Micah comes around the thorn bush.

Delia fires a single shot at Ohen's foe before answering Zander, "Not sure. Some of the others disappeared behind that giant wall of thorns--" she cuts off as her arrow connects. Glancing at the flame-that-is-Bart she mutters, "Hopefully he has that handled..." she then jogs down to get a better assessment of what is happening behind the vine wall.

She winces as she moves just in time to see Stock mutilate the red cap, calling back to Zander, "One-a those green guys is still alive, but Micah and Stohp seem to have him handled. Stock... dealt with the last red cap over here."

Stohp manages to take down the green man and lob some rope around him.
Bartomus does some more burning (note, burn means take extra damage this round, the save to avoid catching fire. They are wasps, their wings are crisping. There's a lot of them, so hp damage is essentially killing groups of them).
Stock ..... makes his flail hum like the blades of a fan as they rapidly repeatedly plow through the red cap. (The gore is like a scene from a Rob Zombie movie and chainsaws.)
Zanderallen goes looking for a fight.
Micah's shield vibrates as blood, bones, gristle, bits of cloth, and what not spatter toward it. It's almost as if the shield is vibrating the detritus off as it hits. Micah then makes his way over to the greenman ready to wallop him.
Delia sticks an arrow through the quickling pestering Ohen.
Ohen thanks Delia.

By the way Bart, I did mention previously, swarms can't move. All you have to do is move out of where they are.

More bugs fry on Bart, the sizzle and pop of their bodies exploding with heat would normally be unnoticeable but there's just so many of them.

The green man looks to be in a foul mood, he retracts his spikes.

Malici looks around and begins floating forward. He is looking around.

I'm going to call combat done. This ice storm destroyed some of the canopy that used to exist here.

After watching the swarming wasps sizzle and pop in the flames of his skin, Bartomus slithered off to near the standing stone lizard men. He changed back into his taur self and realized he was injured.

"Next time, I am just going to go all flame, that was pretty rough." He fished into his jacket for one of the potions. When he had the opportunity he drank one of them hoping it would make him feel better.

Malici absently responds "It seems familiar." He continues to drift/fly northward about 10 feet off the ground. They do however sometimes form bonds and alliances with other evil fey creatures (such as redcaps and quicklings).

"Gulp," Bartomus' swallowing of the potion was extra dramatic as he was kinda thirsty, or maybe parched was a better word. He felt the now very familiar tingle of the potion work and looked about at the stone statues, or rather frozen as stone lizards and quickly ascertained that these two were male. "Um, uh, yep, definitely male, these two."

He said as he pointed at the two stone lizardmen. He looked about and walked over towards Malici and Zander. (AH/AI 38)

"Hey, any idea what this might have been?" And, why those folks wanted to keep us out of it so bad?"

"Right. Evil fae, murders people as is it's nature. Someone cut it's head off, there's no way it suddenly denies it's nature and stops killing people which I'm rather against." Stohp looks to those nearby with edged weapons. She'd do it herself, but is so terrible with a melee weapon it'd just prolong the thing's torment which she is not ok with even if the execution is necessary.

Zanderallen looks back over his shoulder at the party and decides to deal with the green man before continuing to follow Malici. He raises his sword over it, "Some evil just needs to be cleansed from the world." He brings his sword down to end the green man. After verifying the job is done he goes back over to where Malici is floating.

"It is comforting to believe that irredeemable evil does not exist, but such comfort is folly, " Micah says as he makes the symbolic double anvil stroke motion of the Domi worshipper. He nods grimly as Zanderallen ends the evil creature.

Then, seeing that the paladin is attending to Malici, he assesses the health of his companions. When everyone is sufficiently close, he channels energy to restore them. He does it again.

"Delia," he asks, "are you in need of further restoration."

Ohen suddenly remembers something. He walks over to the two statues that were in his fireball and casts mending on them repeatedly if they look damaged.

Bartomus asks what this place might have been.
Stohp feels the Woodwose is beyond redemption.
Stock shakes his head at the waste of it all and goes to follow behind Malici.
Zanderallen fulfills Stohp's request. Even as the sword rose over his head the Woodwose looked with contempt at Zanderallen and spit at him.
Micah see's to the healing of the party.
Ohen does some mending of the statues of the lizardfolk.

Malici looks at Bartomus, "When I was young and ignorant, I called this place home. It wasn't so bad as villages went. But the presence of my father was always a weight."

Malici continues his forward progress and comes to the ground at the well. There is no bucket or rope, and part of the wall surrounding the well has been damaged. Looking around it's clear that when the dragon died the Crying Wood took full vengeance upon this place. Where once there may have been a stockade wall there is nothing of note. Stone walls are knocked over and the grass and shrubs hide many a brick and stone. The flagstones of structures are cracked and have weeds trying to grow up through them.

Search all the bodies Perception 5 Highlight to display spoiler: {There is no magic item on any of the quicklings, red caps, or woodwoses. Just ordinary equipment. 12 shortswords, 7 scythes. You do oncover pouches of loot totaling 2300 gp in various gems.}

Bartomus continued to follow Malici and Zander as they explored the area. He looked over at Malici with a bit of surprise to hear that they were walking about a former village.

"You don't say," Bartomus said as he looked about. "A whole village was here? How many people use to call this home would you say?"

Zanderallen looks over the ruins trying to picture the place as it might once have stood. Some fairly sizable structures from the look of it. "Do you think these statues are more transmuted lizardfolk? If so do you think it was done to protect them from the forest or as punishment for something else? Getting anything from the medallion? Is this where it wanted you to go?" Zanderallen remembers the magical sight Micah gave him and gives everywhere a look over, especially the trap door.

Delia looked out over the clearing, sadly noting the petrified lizardfolk dotted around the ruins.

About to comment on the trapdoor, Stohp beats her to it and she instead moves into a sentry position. Making sure no other threats approach as the Shields examine the trapdoor. (Perception 29 to scan the surrounding area)
