Character: Gunther Grell |
Appearance
At first glance, Gunther is not very impressive. He is of average height,
and has a stocky build. Closer inspection shows the man to be very muscular
yet surprisingly light on his feet. Having spent almost all of his life hunting
wild game, Gunther sports a deep bronze tan and his arms and chest are covered
with scars. He also sports a tattoo on his chest in high Woldian. While adventuring
Gunther is outfitted in hide armor composed of various exotic animals and
carries a two-bladed sword lashed to his back.
Personality
Gunther tends to take a "who wants to live forever" stance on life.
His years spent wandering and hunting have taught him self reliance, though
the man is not opposed to joining up with other adventurers. Though not particularly
religious, Gunther carries and innate since of justice and is willing to lend
his services to help those in need. Since orcish is his primary language,
Gunther sports a deep accent when speaking in Common. Though well meaning,
his accent and dry sense of humor often give others the wrong impression.
History
Gunther was born in a small village on the edge of the Culverwood near the
Scab, North of the Peaseblossom river. Gunther's village was destroyed by
a raiding party of orcs when he was very young. By some odd stroke of fate,
the orcs decided to keep the young man as a slave. In a very short amount
of time, Gunther proved his prowess at hunting and fighting and was adopted
by the chieftain (Grell) of the orc tribe. He spent several years with the
tribe but his conscience soon overcame him and he parted ways with the evil
creatures. Gunther further honed his survival skills as he wandered in the
Scab hunting exotic animals and developing a very profitable business as an
exotic animal trainer.
During one such excursion into the Scab, Gunther stumbled upon an old crazed man who told him of a group called the "Talons" who were in need of assistance. His sense of adventure getting the best of him, Gunther passed through the portal indicated by the old man and found himself in the middle of the adventure of a lifetime!
