Appearance

Florin is a young man of only 20 years of age. He is tall and well muscled, but a little on the less than agile side, do to his height and muscle. His skin is lightly tanned from numerous hour spent training outside, since he has never cared for the cramped spaces of temples or other buildings. In fact, he avoids buildings as much as possible, unless absolutely required to enter them. He wears bluish tinted breastplate armor with a matching shield that bears the symbol of Domi on it. He seems to be always wearing his armor and long sword that he is most proficient with, and a large steel shield clutched in his left hand proudly displaying Domi's symbol for all to see. When adventuring, or questing to serve Domi's will, as a faithful paladin, he is seen wearing his backpack over all his gear. Attached to the pack, on either side and plainly visible are his longbow and 2 quivers and glaive. His training as a paladin clearly shows, his black hair, which is pulled back and tied in a pony tail, is impeccably clean, as is the rest of his armor. Unlike many adventurers, he is always clean shaven. He is wary when approached by strangers, but until proven unworthy, treats everyone with respect and courtesy.

Personality

Florin is cautious of everything, not wanting to fall willy-nilly into anything, so likes to gain as many details as possible about any venture before jumping into it. Due to his cautious nature, many find him unapproachable and even difficult to get to know well, which make the few friends he has even more special. Any mission he accepts, in the name of Domi, he takes most seriously and works on with a nearly unbendable will. He always respects others' opinions, but is very hardnosed around his beliefs of Domi and his need to honor the vows that made a paladin. He will always offer a helping hand to those who ask it, and is not afraid to give out the last sip in his wine skin to a needy innocent. He has even been known to step in the way of an attacker to help an innocent in trouble.

History

Florin was born into a noble family who always schemed to improve their statues within the Floating City. His father, Ledarnas Jadenth, was among the lowest nobles of the city and craved to become a more powerful. In order to increase his standing and his influence he married the only daughter and child, Sofia Krydon, of a noble house slightly more prominent than his. This in turn gave Ledarnas a little taste of his ultimate goal, as through this marriage, he connected his family to another, and ensured that his children would inherit both houses' wealth.

Over the next few years Sofia bore Lendarnas three children. The girl, named Karina, whom Ledarnas, almost immediately, sent to become a priestess of Flower. As Karina grew and learned, Ledarnas continually pressed her to advance higher in the temple hierarchy. Karina has made some progress but has yet to achieve the goal her father wants, which in turn makes Ledarnas press even harder at her. This pressure form her father seems to have even infected her as well, as Karina has on her own, suddenly begun to press her superiors for more responsibility and power.

The second child born was male and named Grilas. Grilas proved to be strong of body and agile. Deciding that getting one of his children ensconced in one of the higher houses, as a guard would be a good idea, Ledarnas fostered Grilas off to one of the higher noble houses and paid for him to be trained in the arts of combat. Neither Florin nor Katrina know which family Grilas was fostered to and hardly see their brother anymore.

Florin was the last born child. His father, hoping to place his last child with a prominent Mage, was angered when he found out that Florin did not have the intelligence or aptitude to become a wizard. He did however show some signs becoming another fine fighter like his brother. It took several years for Ledarnas to make a decision where his third child would be the most advantageous to him, but an idea finally came to him.

Florin had been born on one of Domi's holy days, so with this in mind Florin was sent to the Temple of Domi to become one of Domi's knights. Florin looked to the temple with wide eyes and delight at the chance of studying more about the god Domi, whom he had learned so much about, from the histories of the Floating City.

However, his happiness quickly faded when his father and mother began to push him like they had pushed his brother and sister before him. With each passing day, he lost himself in the training, which he was beginning to resent, because of his father's power-hungry greed. During his training, Florin was teamed with the paladin Liason, who Florin become good friends with.

Florin recently obtained his bonded mount named Ajax. Ajax is a beutiful brown heavy war horse with white fur by the hooves. Also Florin decided to recently adopt a 5 year old girl from the recently burnt down orphange in Floating City. The girls name is Jella and is watched over by Mort who is a bodyguard and teacher hired by Florin to watch over her and teach her. To give Jella a home Florin also has rented a house on the merchant level of the Floating City near the wall where Jella, Florin and Jella's bodyguard and teacher live.
