The subject of this spell gains a +10 enhancement bonus to all Appraisal
checks for the duration of the spell.
This bonus increases to +20 at 9th level. At 9th level the caster can also
detect if an item has a magical aura
about it, the appraiser will understand that the item is magical, but
nothing else about the magical properties. If the item is affected by or
created by a spell, it will be detected as magical.
At 15th level the the bonus increases to +30 appraiser will learn a detail
from the item's "memory." Only significant (from the item's perspective)
details will be
learned, such as the item "remembering" being shoved through the eye
socket
of a great red wyrm. Learning a detail from the item's memory is completely
at the discretion at the DM, and is not necessarily supposed to be of any
use to the appraiser, only an interesting tidbit.
Unlike a standard appraisal, a subject failing the appraisal knows that they
have failed and can retry the appraisal after 24 hours have passed.
