I just sit back and take it all in until I am needed. I might punch my fists together, to see if the flame and ice hitting each other cause any cool reactions. Wonder Twin powers, activate..... hmm... maybe it would work better if I try it with Squeaver using one.

The next 'morning" Atlas wakes up and looks around, surprised that the night went so fast. He cannot remember exactly what Leskni saw on the other side of the door, so he asks around.

After he is up and ready he watches as Owen and Mack try to open the door, curious if anything is going to happen to Mack as he reaches up to touch the shadows.

Given the severity of the opponent they are facing, everyone starts casting. Thinking that's a good idea, Beordir follows suit, giving himself force armor to help avoid more of thos horrible shadows and protecting him further from evil entities. Finally, he makes himself invisible, hoping to use an elemet of surprise to get into position.

Once complete, he lets everyone know, "I'm ready."

Carver switched spells when he prayed after resting, from Lesser Restoration to Bless Weapon....
Carver will wait for just as combat starts before casting his spell....
With the spells cast, Carver for the door to open, and if there is something inside that starts a fight, he'll default to casting bless Weapon on his Lance......

Mack: when you smack your fists together, the one gets so warm it's painful and the other one gets so cold it's painful. you took no damage, but it's enough to tell you that hitting yourself hard enough to do damage would be a really bad idea.

Carver: the bulls strength makes you feel mighty, your spells are tight and you are ready to go.

Atlas: gives his assent to Leskni's ideal, He awakens from a sleep so deep he can't remeber what all went on last night

Leskni: you cast Clairvoyance. but 10' into the shadow doorway yields naught but more shadows. you get the feeling that this door is a ward of some sort and the dimensions feel wrong, almost as if the shadows go on forever.

Armand: calls a halt to the proceedings so that he can buff Leskni, Carver, 'Osul, Owen, and Atlas.

Owen: you speak the word "jancassis" when everyone is ready

‘Osul: thanks everyone for their help, and cannot but think of his old friend Cameron when Jancassis is spoken.

Boerdir buffs himself and cast invisibility, the disembodied voice saying "I'm ready" is kind of spooky.

as Owen speaks 'Jancassis', the moving shadows shift and lock, becoming a solid black door, the wards that were hidden by the moving shadows glow brigtly for a bit, then fade, their power nullified by the code word.

Now standing before you is a solid black door, perhaps made out of jet or weathered obsidian, no lock is visible on it. do you open it and step inside?

Mack: the door is not trapped, well except for the wards that are now non-functional. You feel stronger when Owen touches you

Carver: the door opens easily, as smooth as the stone it's made of. you cast your spells and get ready to rock.

Atlas: two people is too many for this door, Mack could open it with one hand.

Leskni: is ready to go, she offers to shrinkify anybody that wants it.

Armand: buffs himself and stoically awaits whatever comes next.

Owen: buffs mack and gets his game face on.

‘Osul: its pretty obvious that the only traps on this door were the shadows.

Boerdir prudently refrains from accidently poking someone with his invisible rapier, he hugs a wall and awaits the opening of the door.

the door opens into a short hall (10') which leads into a large room, the room was at one time richly adorned but time, hard use, and uncounted years have destroyed much of it. the room is about 50 x 50 and along one corner of the wall is a large altar, with manacles at the 4 corners and what looks to be ancient blood stains covering it and a frighteningly large area around it. What is more interesting though is the beautiful Dow woman, her torso at least, where her hips would be she terminates in a large black widow spider. she smiles and speaks.

Welcome, but I must admit, you were not what I was expecting

she moves a bit and behind her, you can see Mia standing, head bowed and hands clasped before her.

“It seems one of my children has been very naughty. Didn’t I tell you not to talk to strangers, Mya? I’ll have to consider a suitable punishment for you, tch...where are my manners, we will talk about this later, I am curious, though, I recognize humans and a halfling, but what are the 4 legged members of your party? I've never seen anyone quite like you, what are your names? ”.

Ignoring the woman, Atlas speaks to his group, "Hey guys, we could sit and banter with her all day and lose the enchantments, or we can just get started with the fighting while we're strong. Beordir slowly moves past the visible members of his party, touching them carefully as he moves by. He follows along behind Armand, though not very quietly after all. He hears Armand's warning about the silence spell and worries about his position. He sticks close to Armand, hoping the....thing will not be able to separate them.

Leskni tries to determine what this thing is (Knowledge 19 Arcana/Local/Nature/Religion/Planes) being particularly interested in whatever defences it has.

She will ready a dispel to dispel and spell or spell like ability the Drow like thing casts. Unfortunately that particular tactic will fail miserably :-(

Mack: your quip seems lost on her, a Squeever, I've never seen one, is it a pet of some sort? or a true companion?

Carver: Stands ready to rock

Atlas: she looks sharply at you, and tenses, but then relaxes

Leskni: she ignores your quip Fascenating, you are sentient! I guess the larger one is too? I am called a Dothka, but my name is Aphylon Latrodectyl, what is yours?

Armand: She smiles at you, Be that as it may, I have spent eons here, with naught but the ghosts of children to talk to, we can fight anytime, but you cannot imagine what sheer pleasure it is to hear another voice and see others of flesh and blood! Tarry a moment adventurers, I would enjoy this a bit longer

Owen: you do notice something. Highlight to display spoiler: { she is holding one of her hands in a particular pattern as if she has a spell ready to cast. perhaps a readied action?} her eyes slide off of you as if you are not even there.

‘Osul: the ceiling starts about 15' up, but arches towards the middle, it is creased in such a way as to vaguely represent spider legs. perhaps 25' to the top near the middle.

Boerdir sticks close to Armand and the witch does not seem to notice his presence. you look around, most things in the room are so much garbage, but there is a rusty warhammer and really fine quality ceremonial dagger on the Altar.

she seems more than willing, perhaps even desperate to talk to someone besides a bunch of moaning ghosts.

Trying not to be in any rush to attack her before I know she's truly the evil creature we've heard she is.....

"No, not a pet. He's a squirrel, which are quite common up above. Although not usually this large, or glowingly bright. He's the leader of our group, but he uses me as his voice. He prefers not to use primitive vocal forms of communication."

Squeaver and I hold our positions on both sides of the doorway for now.

Atlas has a thought, but he doesn't feel comfortable shouting it out to the group. He pulls out a potion and drinks it as he heads to the altar. At one point he realizes how dangerous this place is and involuntarily flinches. As he walks he focuses on the area around the altar to see if there is anything that might trigger those mandibles to try and pinch him.

Still trying to be quiet, Beordir separates out from the wall, slowly walking toward the center of the room. Having separated from his friends, he quietly draws his rapier, hoping to get closer to her before the fighting actually starts.

Boerdir finds to his chagrin that invisibility does not mean undetectability, as you move around Owen you stumble over a bucket of something which clatters loudly away beneath your feet.

As Beordir stumbles her attention focuses on him like a laser, as her eyes swing toward him her hand raises and a bolt of lightning so bright it leaves streak in your vision flashes out from her hand and hits Beordir! take 20 points of damage! (Reflex save vs DC 17 for half damage.) she then in that spooky way that spiders have, backs up and crawls up the wall! Leskni your dispel spell failed miserably against the coruscating power of her lightning bolt. she makes it about 10' up the wall by end of turn.

I would like some rules clarifications before I post.

1 - you've mentioned several times the clutter in the room, are we considered to be in difficult terrain?

2 - For those of that are spell casters, you said 'Osul's spell fizzels. As our characters are experienced in this why?
a- Did she counter spell it? In which case she took 2 actions and would need a lesser metamagic rod quicken.
b - is there spell resistance, in which case we would recognize that and shouldn't we get a roll for that?

3 - Beordir stumbles but is still invisible, wouldn't that still give a 50% miss chance?

Mack: and Squeever move then move faster as the Hast spell takes hold.

Carver: (I'm going to rule that you can charge up to her but you cannot charge past her as what is past her is a wall, you can either end your turn in the squares before the altar or you can move laterally if you have any move left.) your charge carries you true, you lance hits her well!

Atlas: The altar is made of a solid granite with sigils and wards carved into its surface. I'm going to need more detail on how you destroy it, especially in the middle of combat. Meanwhile, the Matriarch is talking to you…

Leskni: you cast your spell and feel it catch and break something that the Matriarch was doing.

Armand: She actually seemed really keen to talk but from your perception, her noticing an invisible character surprised her. You get nothing from your searing light spell, it hits between her legs and misses.

Owen: sneak is at ½ movement which for you is 15’ that’s three squares, or two diagonal. Also, AF21 puts you inside a wall. I’m putting you at AD23 on your way to AE21. You haste spell get Mack, 'Osul, Leskni Armand and Squeever. it misses Carver on account of he charges outside its radius and he broke the 30' apart rule.

‘Osul: when you aren’t dodging and juking the spell comes surprisingly easy.

Boerdir you can tell when you let the spell go that it’s going to miss, but you also failed to take into consideration that she is 40’ away from you and your spell is only good to 35’ it fades to nothingness a few feet from her.

Carvers charge hits her solid, meanwhile ‘Osul brings down the wrath of god on her with called lightening. but she skitters to the side and the bolt just singes her. you can see now that she has webs in place to crawl upon as she inverts and crawls upon the ceiling. she gestures at Atlas and says, Help me they are trying to kill me! and atlas feels the beginnings of a deep friendship with this creature...only to have it fade like it wasn't ever there. She scowles nastily at Leskni and gestures at her. (yes she is casting a second spell during her round) The air shimmers around Leskni's head, and she hears a sound like a world ending, Fort save DC 16 or be deafened.

With my increased speed, and acrobatic abilities, I take a run at the matriarch and jump up at her, attempting to either land on her and attack, or webs nearby her and attack (whichever seems easier to me based on her position). My attacks can be with any part of my body, so I can still use both hands to hang on to whatever I need to.

(I'm assuming I need to jump 7' (DC 28?), since she's 10' in the air, and I'm 3' 6" tall, but I have a run speed of 60' (+12)

I can't use my full flurry because of my movement, so I do a normal kick, and extra kick because of Haste:
(kick: d20+9(+1 haste, +1 fang, +1 tear) for each blow, and d4+1 (+1d6 fire/ice) damage

Atlas gives the matriarch a penetrating stare "Stay out of my head you foul beast. He then takes advantage of her approach and strikes with a speed that he has never felt before. It feels clumsy and it is hard to tell if he did any real damage.

Mack: running faster than he ever thought possible gets a boost from both the spell and the altar. as he flies through the air he twists, and his first kick misses her by a fraction, the spinning heel kick though catches her on one of her spindly spider legs. the leg frosts at the contact point. Squeever, meanwhile, is having trouble climbing the slick rocks of the chamber, perhaps the gnarly bark or trees offer better purchase.

Carver: Your charge hits her yet again, the speed boost allows you to set and charge quite easily

Atlas: all but your bonus swing catch air, the bonus swing gets a good hit in.

Leskni: hoping your teammates can hear you, you order Pella to the attack! unfortunatly he misses.

Armand: all around you feel the warmth of your god's power and suddenly things don't seem so dark.

Owen: you fade into being as bolts of power fly from your fingertips.

Atlas makes a huge pawtewee sound as he spits the webs out of his mouth as best as he can. He considers trying to break out of the webs restricting him, but he doesn't want to miss out on a chance to hurt this foul woman thing, so he just fights through it and attacks. His ability to fight with both his shield and his sword seems to be hampered, but he manages to break his sword arm free enough wave it around some. Unfortunately it is a complete disaster as misses everything and would have likely fallen had it not been for the webs holding him up.

Mack: struggles through the entagling webs and attepts to strike the foul thing, his first swing hits but the second misses!

Carver: ignores the huge spider attempting to kill him to strike the now grounded drow thing with his lance

Atlas: misses with his attacks but does it with such gusto that you cannot help but admire his moxie.

Leskni:

Armand: your attempts to dispel the spiders are for naught, but you pick up the hammer and move. you call out to Mya, standing at the altar, she looks forlorn and desperate to help..but she cannot move.

Owen: your spell has about as much effect as Armands.

‘Osul: BOOM! the lightening crashes again, striking the thing.

Boerdir your blade tastes deeply of the horse sized thing, and your crit was confirmed for 9 extra points!

The Matriarch keens again and 8 more of the smaller crab spiders appear all around the room! Just as they are about to attack the Matriarch finds that she was not as screened nor as safe with her pets as she though. The combination of Carver, 'Osul, and Mack concentrating fire upon her is too much, she begins to collapse with the blows from Carver and Mack, but when 'Osul bolt hits she spasms as a chunk of her skull blows away and she hits the ground...graveyard Dead. The spiders, with no being left to handle the reigns of the spell holding them here fade away.

Mack: teases 'Osul about spiders, and agrees with atlas about the fight. the legs of the Matriarch are hard and chitinous, kind of like a king crab leg, but with difficulty you snap one, exposing the slimy musculature inside, the leg is broke, but without cutting the muscles and tendons inside you cannot get it "off"

Carver: heals himself, and questions Mya,

Atlas: checks the body, yep she's dead.

Leskni: confirms that she is indeed dead, so is Mya, but the something is different about her now.

Armand: The altar is granite, but the wards and sigils covering it are all magic, they are interconnected, even the chains and manacles are etched with connecting sigils.

Owen: sees an altar and also notices that they are indeed in a room.

‘Osul: the wards and sigils covering this altar are strange and fascinating, like nothing you have ever seen before. but you understand enough about magic to tease out a probable use. blood activates it, a lot of blood, then the power is used to... this is where it gets weird...the wards have a similarity to a gentle repose spell, timelessness, and healing, only directed in a different way that's beyond your comprehension.

Boerdir is still primed for combat he gives carver an antitoxin potion.

Mya speaks. she's dead, oh thank the gods, she has tormented us for so long, you must destroy the altar for us to find the lands of rest...if you intereupt the lines of power it should break it's hold on us.

there is a noise behind you and a voice, familiar to you calls out. What happened?, Turning you all see Zulok. He has a small troop of Drow warriors with him, and Eclyndryl, in manacles. Before the party can answer he puffs out his chest and loudly declares “I claim this site and its possessions in the name of House Tzzukah. I order you to leave immediately!”

I'm going to pause combat for a turn and explain a bit, because I feel I did not offer up enough detail in my last post. Zulok came up the stairs at the south end of the room you are in. All of his men are in the room with him. he is not out front he is in the middle of them, there are at least three drow warriors standing in front of him, arms drawn, and several more to his flanks.

There are 23 warriors with him, each armed with a scimitar and a hand crossbow.

Luckily, knowing Zulok could not be trusted, the group had dispatched a message to the Halfling DED Society (Downfall of Evil Drow) a while back already. The DED Society had sent a small contingent of stealthy halfling monk ninjas, who had been ever so silently tracking the group waiting for the moment that Zulok would make his move.

As Zulok and his Evil Drow sprung into action, the halfling monks leapt out of the shadows from every direction, with hundreds of tiny fists and feet flurrying in every direction. Like a swarm of rabid rats, they quickly move into position, protecting Owen and Osul, and working their way towards Zulok, and doing their best to quickly free Eclydryl.

Owen eyes the drow warriors. Do they look very experienced?

He looks about as if to say "Are we doing this?" If it's clear that yes, we're doing this, he musters a fireball and lobs it so it detonates right in front of Zulok's face. The drow warriors must make a reflex save against DC 17 or take 15 damage. Unsatisfied with the first shot, Owen heroically draws on power from his bonded ring to cast yet another fireball, right in the same place. Reflex against DC 17 or take 26 damage.

Then he backs up toward the altar.

Mack: has apparently either cracked or eaten too many of the "magic mushrooms" growing in these tunnels. he imagines scores of halfling ninja monks slaughtering the drow warriors

Carver: initiates a charges trying to get to Zulok through his lines of warriors.

Atlas: is amused by the thought of ninja halflings.

Leskni: connects to a ley line, but cannot pronounce her spell due to her inability to hear.

Armand: Leskni mumbles something and does not hear you,

Owen: lets fly with a fireball!

‘Osul: the bolt hits the Altar, the runes a trace of power running over the runes, and back again, till the reach the strike point where the bolt marred the ward, the power dissapates and the wards begin to fade from the altar.

Boerdir Multiplies himself by 5 and strides forward 15' calling for peace, His words carry no weight as there is a charging minotaur and fireball steaking toward the Drow!

Carver steaks toward Zulok with frightening speed! He is on target, but the drow in front of Zulok have other ideas! The center one thows himself in the way of the charge and takes the hit while the drow in the 1st and 2nd rows take the opportuinity to pelt him with crossbow bolts. 5 bolts get through his armor for 16 points of damage. Each of the bolts are coated with Drow posion ( Fort save VS DC 13 of fall unconscious add +1 to the DC for every 2 hits ex. 1st DC 13, 2nd DC 13, 3rd DC 14, 4th DC 14, 5th DC 15, this represents the cumulative effect of so many bolts hitting you at once. ). Just about the time that Carver hits the Drow and tears it's head off with his lance, Owens Fireball arrives on scene, but Carver is in the way! the Fireball slides right beneath his right arm and impacts on the falling headless corps of the Drow he killed. The second fireball fares better and detonates squarely on Zulok's square. he dodges and manages to avoid the majority of the first fireball, only to run square into the second. All drow but the ones on the very peripery get caught in the second blast,

Mya begins to Scream “No! Have you learned nothing? This is not the way!” More ghostly children start to appear by Mya’s side. “There will be no more sacrifices for power.”

The ghost children go from a ghostly white to a pulsating angry red! their visages contort with rage and they fly toward the Drow.

Apparently everything from the last few seconds was a dream, except for the army of drow surprising us, and I somehow have not moved and attacked yet.... Squeaver and I advance (again) and attack the drow flanked with Carver..

(flurry of blows: d20+9+2(flank)+1(haste)+1(bless)+1(fang on 1st attack) for each blow,
and d4-1 damage (+1d6 Sneak Attack)+2(bull's strength)+1d6(fire/ice tears)+1(fang on 1st attack)

Carver takes a number of crossbow bolt and manages to shrug off the poisons the Drow are using, then the fireballs enter the picture and he gets his shield up into the position to misdirect the brunt of the blasts. He then says a brief prayer to Gargul and his glowing hand touches his breastplate and the flickering light flashes across his entire body, visibly healing him as it does so.

Staying in melee range, he uses his reach to strike at Zulok with the lance and his hooves at warrior to the south of him.
"I hope that those fireballs toasted those crossbows, they hurt. Hit them hard, hit them fast, and drop Zulok, them maybe the rest will listen to their rightful ruler...."

Atlas shakes his head as he tries to forget about the monk ninjas. "Did that spider poison me?" Having control of his senses again, he rushes into the battle.

After striking at the drow he looks over his shoulder towards Mya. He thinks about saying something, but he knows it will do no good. Hopefully the children don't turn on us after the drow.

Mack: Mack and his pet move with lightening speed. His first blow misses but the second connects and a shock of white frost forms on the stricken drow. Squeever jumps on the drow and like the rabbit from Monty python tears his throat out with his claws. (you got two tears, it affects two attacks.)

Carver: stabs at Zulok twice hitting once, the same for the drow to his south.

Atlas: Tears into his opponent like a buzzsaw, killing the burning drow before he can fully recover.

Leskni: The din of battle is lost on her, she hangs back and looks to be of use healing.

Armand: you hit with the hammer you notice it leave an oily sulferous residue on the altar that makes the stone smoke and dissolve. that and the force of the hammer blow cracks the altar right in two.

Owen: you rays miss, and it looks like Armand has other things on his mind.

‘Osul: you drop the bolt right on top of Zulok, he was so distracted with everyone else hitting him hhe failed his save.

Boerdir closes to within knife fighting range of the drow...all five of him. (you were there last round, why didn't you attack this round?

The ghost children fly into the drow, literally, except for Mya who stops in front of Zulok and stares at him.
except for Drows # 4 and 21 all the drow who had a ghost pass through them fell dead!

Ghost Mya hisses at Zulok, Fool! begone from this place! leave in peace of be destroyed!"
Zulok looks wildly around “You… you cannot tell me what to do! I am Zulok! Head of House Tzzukah! As ruler of this place, I command you to follow me!” He puts his rapier to Eccys throat and looks at the ghost....and freezes in place.

The rest of the drow scatter and begin dropping darkness spells around the place. (50% miss chance, roll d100 anything less the 50 misses, unless you have Darkvision. ) and begin to take flanking positions around any close opponents.

The Daylight spell will overcome a basic darkness spell. As Daylight has a 60 radius it will return the areas of the drow darkness spell to the previous lighting. As we could see in the room then we can see in the room now.

Mack: (understood, I will post answers to questions in this area from now on.) Mac moves into the darkness swinging wildly to hit zulok, Squeever hits once perhaps through better senses or just plain luck

Carver: as the room lights back up you see drow moving to flank you and zulok stil as a stature looking at Mya. your attacks hit, and he crumbles to the ground.

Atlas: you juke and feint with the drow in front of you in the darkness you first attack misses, you feel your shield catch something, then the darkness lifts and you see him! you are so excited that your extra attack misses but your hast attack catches him good. He hasn't been stand there though, He manages to get a good lick in with his rapiers before you split his skull. take 5 damage and save vs poision DC 13 fort or fall unconscious.

Leskni: Pell picks eccy up and flies her to safety.

Armand: your spell pushes back the darkness in a 30 ft swatch from your point at the altar

Owen: your spell makes the body of Zulok twitch, and when the drow beside you pokes you with his rapier you twitch as well. take 5 points of damage and save vs posion DC 13 or fall unconscious.

ÔOsul: (sorry 'Osul i missed turning you teal..corrected) amid the darkness and din of battle you hear the whistle of blades moving throuh the are, you are pincushioned for 4 and 5 points of damage! also save vs posion DC 13 Fort of fall unconscious times 2. (I am ruling that you can become a fire elemental at the end of this round provided you dont fall unconscious. )

Boerdir(gotcha' you just seemed down about not attacking last round) the drow attempting to flank you made a miscall, his flanking parner is dead! and the others one moving to flank will not be able to help this round. his attack misses.

The ghost girls move again, and and 3 more drow fall dead. but the rest of the deploy to screen zulok and the others begin to minister to him. while some of the others attack the ghosts.

Daylight has a 60 foot radius. The room should be lit as Daylight is a 3rd level spell, darkness is a second level spell with only 20 foot radius.

Multiple darkness do not make it harder for the daylight spell to penetrate. Range does not make it more difficult to penetrate.

There should be no darkness left on the map.

Atlas shrugs off the drow attack and looks about for who's in trouble. Seeing 'Osul surrounded, he moves in that direction. As 'Osul steps out of harms way Atlas steps in and attacks one of the drow with his sword, immediately drawing blood.

OOC: There seems to be some text coloring being done to some of our characters on the map. Does that signify something? Unfortunately, I can't see some colors. ooc: sorry for the delay guys. I'm working in Ohio now and last 5 days have been brutal.

Mack: (didn't know you were colorblind, tell me what colors you can see and I'll adjust) The drow at Y24 is dead, but squeever attacks the one at x25 for 5 damage and you hit the same one for 11 (no flank damage due to you not having him flanked. The Drow meanwhile concentrates his attacks on Squeever and stabs him twice with his rapier for 10 points of damage. the little ball of fur seems to be really freaking the drow out. squeever needs to save vs posion DC 13 fort x2 or fall unconscious.

Carver: you charge carries you true you impale the drow and kill him on the spot.

Atlas: your attack overwhelms the drow and he drops gushing blood, but he managed to get you twice during the exchange, he seemed to be moving faster...and you take 11 points of damage. save vs posion DC 13 fort x2 or fall unconscious.

Leskni: Pell flies true, but the drow guarding zulok keep him screened well and while your bird hits a drow...its not zulok. 4 drow cut at her with their rapiers 1 hits for 7 points of damage pella needs to save vs posion DC 13 fort of fall unconscious.

OOC: There are a few problems with the map.... #1, some of us (maybe just me) can't see some of the colors. For instance, I can't see Squeaver at all, and I don't see 3 colors of drow that Armand mentioned... only 2. Problem #2, what do the colors signify anyway? If they're dead, maybe they should be moved off the map. I don't even know where I can walk, and I always do everything in my power to 5' step and flank someone, or my attack damage is fairly worthless and I waste a turn.

The drow numbered list in the DM post is great, but maybe the numbers should be added to the drow on the map. i.e., W1, W2, W3, etc. Also, is there a difference between a small w and a large W?

I'll hold off on taking my turn in the hopes that it is correct soon and I know who best to attack. ;)

I can at least do my saves for Squeaver though.

OOC: I can't tell on the map, but you changed my attack to a different drow warrior that I didn't have Flank on. If possible, I would have 5' stepped to flank him first, giving him an extra 10 damage. I'm assuming that's the same one that attacked Squeaver.

It's hard to know movement after the fact with the current map. Is there a reason we went away away from the map system we used to use where we could see movement from round to round?

Can we remove the dead drow from the map? I don't know what your color coding means on the map. I'm not sure who is attacking me and who is not.

How did they get Zulock back up, potions or spells? It would make a difference to what people may do.

(the map has been modifed to show only the live drow and the ghosts. Red =Dead, gray = hidden in darkness, black = hale and hardy. since the darkness is gone, no need for gray anymore.

Mack: (send me a your post via email now that the map has been corrected and I will inset it into the preceeding post. ) Squeever sleeps peacefully near the body of the drow you and he slew.

Carver: you charge toward Zulok through his screen of defenders, actually pushing one to the side as you pass, they stab at you with their drawn rapiers, hittng you 4 times, but your lance does as you command and skewers the revived zulok like a fish. take 22 damage and save vs posion DC 13 fort x2 and DC 14 fort x2 or fall unconscious.

Atlas: The drow before you trades blows with you, He manages to tag you once, to your four, you take 4 points of damage from his rapier, he takes a dirt nap.

Leskni: you spell appears over the mutilated body of zulok, still twitching on the end of Carvers lance.

Armand: (when you moved to x22 a drow closed on you from the mass. this room is small enough that from the middle you can get to any point in a round and get a partial attack. this guy closed on you and rolled a natch 20 on acrobatics to avoid AOO. they poured something down zuloks throat to revive him. ) you catch the drow flanking Beodir with a blow, turning his attention to you, the drow that stabbed at you earlier falls in behind you flanking you against the drow you attacked. since it was a 5' step to get where you are, he gets no AOO, nor does the drow flanking you since he took a 5' step. he hits you again for 2 damage. you know the save routine

Owen: ZZZZZZZZZ (you know you can make a save each round )

‘Osul: BOOM! your lightning bolt hits right where the Drow was, unfortunately he moved with Armand and it only partially got him. the drow following Armand screened another other drow coming for you and as you pass by him, he tags you with his rapier for 7 damage (AOO) He then hits you again for 5 in a standard attack. save vs posion DC 13 fort of fall unconscious. x2.

Boerdir(Yes I did, 18% chance you were hit d%:63 he missed you, but you lost one of the 5, you now have 4 and a 20% chance to be hit. you can put the HP you took back now.) The drow to your north and south both stab at you, both hit an image dispelling both of them. 2 images left and a 33% chance to hit you.

The ghost children keen and move through the drow near them. only 4 hit, but 3 of the drow fall dead. with their leader well and truly dead, the remining drow vanguard begin to retreat back toward the stairwell, but one of the ghost children blocks their way,

He now flanks with Beordir and bashes the drow at V23. To hit, 16 (d20+9 including flank bonus and bless) Not sure a 16 hits but in case it does Damage 5 (d8+2).

Armand is running out of witty repartee. The struggle with the drow is taxing his endurance as. He wonders if the rusty hammer he is holding was really a better choice than his trusty glaive that lies on the floor near the alter.

OoC: Owen made his save last round, but stayed prone to avoid AoOs. I should have made that more clear. Oh, and ignore my third roll above; it was a fat-finger error.

IC : Owen slowly stands, then fires off a few Magic Missiles at any drow still standing. They don't miss, and deal 2, 2, and 3 damage respectively. Apparently his magic is still suffering from the aftereffects of poison.

Mack: The drow over Squeever was too busy fighting off a ghost to coup de grace him, he notices that the squirrel wakes up and move to attack, but Atlas chops his arm off and puts 36" of blade in his chest, it looks like it will delay his attack somewhat

Carver: (I'm assuming you are attacking the Drow at the stairs? your lance hits him in the neck and he goes down.

Atlas: You move over to the drow at X25 and run him through twice with your sword. He's dead before he hits the ground

Leskni: The drow keep fighting, Eccy is busy trying to get the gag out of her mouth with her hands tied behind her back, she does though look like she has something to say...

Armand: the rusty hammer is lighter than it should be, and while rusty it's functionality is superb. it was a near hit, but you are still getting used to the weapon. You got the Drows attention though he spins and pokes you neatly in the belly with his rapier. 3pts damage save vs poison DC 13 Fort of go to sleep.

Owen: & ‘Osul: ( I think I got you guys confused on the map. 'Osul you took no damage and Owen you are still by the altar)

Boerdir you miss, but suddenly the Drow you are facing has another worry, as a large rusty Warhammer whizzes past his head.

The Drow pull up short, at the sight of the ghost, carvers attack whittling down their ranks, they slash at the ghost girl, hitting her! she screams and attempts to pass through one of the drow, but it avoids her. only to be hit by another ghost. he steels himself and resists her attack!

meanwhile, the remaining engaged drow are attacked by the ghosts. but only one succumbs to the ghost children.
