HERO ACTIONS

Wilford’s shadow pup tries moves to AU12, but bumps into something invisible, and ends up in AU13.
His pony moves to AT12.
His viper flicks its tongue, slithers into square AU12, and strikes at the invisible foe there. He would have needed to roll a 50% miss chance since he still cannot see the assassin, but it is moot anyway since his roll to hit failed.
Wil himself casts Divine Favor, granting himself a +1 to hit and damage.

Lornak moves to AL20, and stands ready to protect Dusan.

Toston dashes after the assassin to BH45, then acid splashes the fleeing woman for 5 damage.

Dušan casts see invisibility and points out the invisible assassin in the same square as the viper. Note that he does not have line of sight to the other part of the battle, which is pretty far away in any event.

Alas, no posts so far from Var and Hmerrin.

ENEMY ACTIONS

The Female Wineseller Assassin keeps moving and flees around the corner at BP44..

The Male Wineseller Assassin remains unseen.

The Male Bystander Assassin, attacked by a viper, decides to leave. Dusan sees him move to BB9 and then is lost to sight. All that is left is a dead body.

The Meeting of the Threats Committee starts in 45 minutes. The palace doors open in 15. Combat is over. No map needed unless someone has questions.

After a minute, three of the House of Knives market guards, two dwarves and a human, come over to chat with you. “Eh, now, what was all that about. And who are you goodfellows? Who's in charge?” One of the dwarves looks at the dead body and demands the corpse removal fee. The human looks you up and down. “Seemed to me like you lot started that one. We don’t fuss none about a little tussle, sure, but we got no truck with fire. You should know that. What if it spreads? I'm looking for an explanation”

"I'm sorry gentlemen." Dušan offers after a quick prayer and casting of Guidance, "While it may appear that we acted rashly, I hope our actions will prove prudent within the hour. We'd be happy to stay within your perview until that becomes readily apparent." Dušan pulls out more gold than he hopes is necessary for a corpse removal, "Or we could settle any fees right now with you fine protectors of public." Dušan then pulls out a few more gold, "We might even be tempted to donate to the squares fire safety programs if you upstanding individuals would be so kind to make sure it gets to the "right" hands?"

Dušan then flourishes the coins with a smile that offers the next round on him if they were at a tavern.

Hmerrin heads back to where he started the encounter and keeps alert. It is no surprise that the market very quickly returns to normal. A fight? So what? Business as usual here in Dirt City.

Var finds three people at the corpse as he approaches. Two are kids -- no wait! halflings -- who are pawing at the body. One is a human with leather armor and a wood shield -- just standing and staring at the corpse. [OOC: The human is our newest PC, run by Courtney.]

Toston chases the assassin. Toston is invisible but makes no effort at stealth. The assassin breaks into a run. Does Toston choose to keep pace? What about after his invisibility ends?

Dušan smooths things over with the Knives. He deems 10 gp will suffice but be deemed cheap. 50 would be more than enough. Pick an amount and deduct from your sheet, please.

Lornak hears what the knives have to say when they approach them. He does his best to infer whether or not there will be a problem but is unable to ascertain their motives because he is too busy trying to watch the invisible assassin. He is grateful that Dusan approaches and speaks with them. (Sense Motive d20=14)

He lowers his crossbow at his side casually and keeps his eyes peeled for any sign of more combatants. (Perception d20=26) He moves back to the scribe booth.

"Now, you need to stop. I'm sorry if they ran away. That was not my fault," he says.
Clearly in a conversation he adds.
"I don't know what your going to do now! You could help me find the gentleman we are trying to protect. He is clearly spooked now but maybe he is around."
Cicero then disappears into the shadows to search for Sell See.

Var comes up short as he realizes vultures have already moved in on his kill. "Err.." he says to the Human.

"No, no one else, luckily. They were intendin' on hurtin' someone else, but I think we may have scared them off." Var says, attempting to shoo off the two Halflings.

"Hrm. You're awfully calm for jus' witnessing a lethal fight." Var observes, "Y'wouldn't happen t' be in the same business as this one here, would ya?" Var says to the Human, indicating the dead assassin.

Dušan pays the Knives 50 Gold for their very real concern of the fire spreading although he doubts the gold will put out any fires outside of their thirsts at the taverns tonight. Wilford & Co cast around to look for the merchant you seek to protect, Sell-Sea Staffing. Scent might have been a good choice ... if you had any idea what he smelled like, and if he had passed by recently enough to track. As it is, alas.

Lornak returns to the group’s booth and keeps alert. He notices that random people are giving all of you hero-types the look over.

Hmerrin returns to the booth next door to Lornack, again standing at guard.

Gaffer looks for an explanation and seeks to help the wounded.

Var responds to Gaffer and the two strike up a conversation.

Dušan settles up with the Knives, and then chases away the halflings -- they make a rude gesture and skip off. Dušan strikes up a conversation with the interested good samaritan as well.

Toston chases the assassin. The leather-clad killer has basically a 30 ft lead on Toston, and thanks to the vagaries of the PF rules, if both characters have the same rate, that 30 ft gap never closes. But because we play in turns, first the assassin runs, then Toston runs after. They take turns going back and forth. In this kind of a race, I only know one way for the player character to win -- use a hero point for an extra action!

Alas, Toston did not consider this solution, and now it is too late.

The pair run until Toston turns visible. Then the assassin casts a spell, vanishes, and stealths away with a move action. Is that move action a full 30 ft mvoe (at -5 on Stealth) or just 15 ft (at no stealth penalty?) Or does the assassin have the ability to sneak at full speed? Hmmm ... . Toston, 30 ft away at that point, can make a Perception check (at -3 for distance), opposed by the assassin’s stealth check ... which at the moment is a 17, plus 20 for being invisible, so that’s a 37 to figure out a general direction. To pinpoint the stealthy invisible assassin, you need a Perception roll beating a DC57.

"Really have to work on your patience and temper," Will scolded Cicero as the shadow began to blink.
"So what do we do now and do we have a new adventurer in our midst?" he says to the group.

"I am Wilford Grimly, the least crazy of the bunch."
The shadow creature bumps him in jest. Will turns around. "Hey, you beast. You will get that goblin dander on me." The shadow creature then disappears and Will fixes the tight braid down the center of the back of his human head. He wears a cleric cloak with Gargul's symbols scattered over it.
"I'm trying to be friendlier outside of my appearance inherited by being an Eye of Gargul."

(OOC: Last time I was in a foot chase, we had the same move speed and I was told to roll a series of fort saves to stave off non-lethal damage so I assumed it would be something similar but you know what they say about assumptions lol so that is on me)

Toston is perceptive but he isn't that perceptive so he doesn't have the ability to figure out even her general direction. However Toston does decide to watch for any puddles or sand in the area that may give the assassin away (Perception: 34; natural 20 lol) in case she got careless. If he doesn't get any clue then he randomly moves in a south easterly direction (directional d8, so 4 = SE) while he continues to look for any indicators that might give the assassin away.

Toston -- [OOC: In a long race, endurance would have played a roll. But this did not last more than what? 4-5 rounds/] -- Toston loses the fleeing assassin and wanders Grubbertown looking for clues. It occurs to Toston that this is one of the worst of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the City Above ... and he is alone here ...

Wilford introduces himself to the newcomer, after his own individualistic fashion. Then he cures Var.

Lornak returns to staff the booth. He notes that although shoppers are returning to the market, they are giving the new scriptorium a wide berth.

Hmerrin wanders over to the group near the assassin’s body. Is he hinting to be introduced?

If so, Dušan is not getting the hint, instead handing Hmerrin things to carry. Dušan discovers the following: a potion, a tanglefoot bag, a wand, a vial of poison with 10 doses, a masterwork punching dagger, a magic light crossbow, bolts, thieves' tools, and a purse with coins.

Gaffer continues his gentlemanly offer of assistance. [OOC info for Gaffer only: Please Highlight to display spoiler: {You know that this particular order of assassins always work in married couples. And that they prefer to strike, kill, and run.}]

Var is quiet as he is cured.

"Otherwise," the fighter looks around, "all I got is stick to Plan A - Walk around and wait for something to happen."

Lornak notices that the bazaar patrons are actively avoiding the scribe booth. "The scuffle did not exactly take place at our booth..." He says chagrined, to no one in particular. "And I guarantee it was not a reaction to my impeccable service..." He straightens the lapel on his scholars outfit.

As he stands near the booth he ruminates about the kind of poison those assassins were using on their bolts. He thinks something like that would be handy for him in the future. As the minutes pass he decides to search for the bolt he tore out of his leg and with hopes to reverse engineer the poison it carries later. (Perception d20=13...) Unfortunately, it seems to have been lost in the battle.

"I should have left the bolt it in my leg...wait...What Am I Saying?! That is a terrible idea!" Lornak sulks.

OOC - Judging the duration of Mage Armor from Toston[15 mins = 422 rounds] I'd say the Cats Grace cast on me will have expired in 30 mins. (56 Rounds Cat's Grace on Lornak: +4 enhancement bonus to Dexterity, adding the usual benefits to AC, Reflex saves, and other uses of the Dexterity modifier)

Toston finds himself wandering aimlessly in the bad part of town and thinks it is probably time to get back to the others as the assassin's trail has gone cold.

He casts the minotaur version of Toros Taur Try on himself, keeping an eye peeled for any potential dangers ( Perception: 24)

If he spots a crowd moving in the general direction back to the market he will attempt to use the crowd as cover to decrease his profile (Stealth: 17)

In this manner he attempts to make it back to his friends.

"They assassin's should be working in pairs. If the targets headed for the palace doors, so will they. I'll get a birds eye view, it's the best I can do. If I spot anything, well, follow the noise". Gaffer steps away from the group before his form twists itself into that of a Hawk and with a few flaps of his wings begins rising into the air.
Gaffer uses his improved perception to scan the crowds for any more recognisable assassins, or anyone who seems to be moving towards the palace doors with a guard. (Perception: 20)

Toston tells his tale of recklessly chasing alone after an assassin into the most dangerous part of town, realizing his error, and thankfully returning unscathed. This time.

So amazed are Var and Hmerrin by this story that they fail to notice anything else.

Wilford, crazy as he is, considers trying to walk past the guards and sneak into the Palace, without invisibility, without cover or concealment, just wandering in ... fortunately, the steely gaze of the guards, as well as their steely swords, deter him.

Gaffer, almost as mad, ponders just flying into the palace through an upper story window. Well, perhaps forgetting that the Palace is a redoubt most formidable in this city of rogues, it is just as well that the only windows he sees are frosted glass, barred with iron, and watched by the roof guards who are not visible from the ground.

Dušan, who is not a madman, spends his time productively identifying the light crossbow as +1 and the potion as cure moderate wounds.

Lornak hears a “twang” of crossbows and sees a bit of a commotion.

We are now re-entering combat. PLEASE note your map coordinate location at this very moment. Note that I have not mentioned the location of the commotion because I want you to be unbiased in picking your location before the fight starts. Once his mage armor ran out about 14 minutes and 12 seconds into the intervening period Toston refreshed his mage armor with the wand and then stowed it as he sensed he was without its protection and Sell-Sea had not yet shown up.

Toston uses a standard action to cast shield on himself and if possible takes a move action to moves 30 feet towards whatever is happening. (Perception: 18)

Toston, standing at AJ32, has renewed his mage armor. He hears a commotion around the corner to his Northwest, and then he moves to AH29, where he sees a strange sight (see below).

Gaffer, hearing the commotion, lands at AF31, not far from Toston. He too sees the commotion.

Dušan, at AI29, also has a clear line of sight to what’s going on to the west. He casts his far-reaching spell.

Hmerrin is at AD29 when the attack begins..

Lornak is at the booth at AG21 -- he too has line-of-sight!

Var is at AQ45, keeping near the palace entrance. He notes that the commotion is north and west, around the side of the palace.

Wilford, pondering ways to penetrate the palace, is placed by the DM at AU40.

All PCs except Wil and Var: You see a very heavily armored man with a tower shield. He is lumbering carefully toward you. He has no weapon. You see an elf and a half-orc who have just fired on him, but both arrows lodged harmlessly in his shield. This round he moves 30 ft closer, ending in 29R (red dot on map).

Green Border Assassin (an elf) takes a double move to get closer to the armored fellow. He dashes mostly south to 27Q.

Black Border Assassin (a half-orc) digs out a tanglefoot bag and throws it at the armored fellow! His roll to hit touch AC17, with a +1 PB Shot and a -2 range penalty is an 11, a miss!

Lornak instinctively snaps his head down and protectively raises his shoulders as a familiar sound of bolt leaving a crossbow is heard. Lornak mouths as he grabs his loaded crossbow from under the counter.

GLOWING Green Border Assassin (an elf) curses as the spell illumes him. Then he shouts at insult and shoots at Hmerrin. He shoots, misses, and then ducks around a booth, using it for concealment -- with him glowing like that, he can’t hide, but at least you cannot charge him, he figures.

Wilford starts to cast a summons spell. It takes an entire round to cast. The bat will appear NEXT round. (P27)

ENEMY and NPC ACTIONS

The armored man keeps on truckin! He ends move 30 ft along in 29AD. He says to Gaffer, “Thanks! Just keep those assassins off me please! I know there are more sneaking around!”

GLOWING Green Border Assassin (an elf) steps back five ft, dips a bolt in the vial at his belt, slaps it into his crossbow, and shoots point blank at Toston. He hits AC19, a miss. “You Jerk!” bhe snarls. “I’ll do ya for that!”

Black Border Assassin (a half-orc) casts a spell. Wherever he is hiding, the sound of his casting is relatively easy to hear ... it’s coming from the booth at AA-AB-25-26. However, no one has a good enough perception to be able to pinpoint the location. Toston thinks he hears the fellow hop out of the booth after casting. Where he went after casting is a mystery.

But what about Dusan, who can now see the invisible? Well he definitely sees an assassin standing out in the open. An invisible assassin is lurking around at AT38. But that’s not the half-orc caster. Wherever he is, he must have cover or concealment from Dusan, and he must have made a Stealth check that beats the bloodwitch’s spot check.

HERO ACTIONS

A bat (P34) appears, senses the invisible assassin somewhere around AH27, and attacks! It hits for 8 damage [OOC: DM rolled 50% miss chance, and it did hit!]. Wilford himself starts another summons.(P25)

Gaffer wants to cast a summons -- but he also wants to stay close to the armored fellow. The problem is that it takes extra time compared with other spells to cast a summons (see casting time). He can start the spell, and finish at the very start of his next turn, (for example, Wil summoned a bat last round that appeared this round), but that leaves him with only time enough for a five ft step. So the DM needs to know, do you follow the armored fellow (and cast a normal spell if you like) or do you cast the summons? Or take a double move to get out ahead of him? (P17)

Dušan announces that the one invisible assassin -- the one that the bat attacked -- wants to send his spectral hand to mark the location of the other invisible assassin the one over at AT38. He cannot cast Prestidigitation through the Spectral Hand -- the spell only delivers touch spells, IIRC, but Prestidigitation is a ranged spell, not a touch spell. HOWEVER, the hand itself, which is visible, does tell where the assassin is, for now. Dušan CAN cast some other spell, though. (P--)

Hmerrin moves up, swings, and hits the glowing assassin for a hefty 21! (P--)

ENEMY and NPC ACTIONS

The armored man moves another 30 ft forward, swinging wide south around the bat, staying close to the Palace wall.

The GLOWING Green Border Assassin (an elf) is visibly shocked by the missile and slash that HURTS! He drops his crossbow, falls prone, and shouts, “I yield! I yield!” He is unarmed now.

Black Border Assassin (a half-orc) dodges invisibly around the bat and heads fast south to the armored guy, who he attacks with a sneak attack! That makes him visible at 34AH. His attack, at +2 because he was invisible, with the armored fellow losing his dex bonus, and especially with a +20 thanks to True Strike, is +29 vs AC29. He hits AC31 with a natural 2, but that’s enough! That’s a sneak attack assassin special with poison!
The armored guy has to make a DC13 fort save vs assassination ... the armored guy rolls an 18 and is not assassinated!
Then the armored guy has to make a DC13 fort save vs the drow poison ... the armored guy rolls an 8 and FALLS DOWN UNCONSCIOUS!
AND there is the damage, too. That’s 22 damage to the armored guy.
The half-orc assassin is now visible at 34AH.

The other assassin of whom you are aware, the invisible one that Dusan is watching, moves 60 ft to AK35. ONLY Dusan can see him!

He wants to vent his rage upon this elf kneeling in front of him. He swiftly raises his foot off the ground and pushes him in the shoulder, knocking him off of all fours and onto his backside. Wil’s pal Cicero the shadow dire bat appears and bites at the invisible assassin at AK35, hitting him for 15! (P19)

Wilford himself casts a cure, flies to AG33 to the unconscious armored guy, and hovering over him, touches him to cure 20 for 15. (P26)
[OOC to Wil: (1) I see you rolled 2d8+5 for your roll on the die roller. But the problem there is you do not know what the individual d8s were. If one of them were a 1, you are entitled to reroll that die. SO in the future, it behooves you to roll each d8 seperately, so you can see (and reroll) 1s. This time it was moot because you rolled a 10, so the worst you could have rolled was an 8 and a 2. But if you had rolled a 4, how could you have known if you had rolled 2 2s or a 1 and a 3? ALSO (2) For touch spells, either to touch a friend or an enemy, you want to cast, then move, then deliver the touch spell. Hmerrin wants to run. In heavy armor, he can run up to 60 ft in a straight line. He wishes he could move to AA28, but there are booths in the way. The kindly DM moves him 60 ft in a straight line to AD24 (P06)

Lornak intimidates the assassin who has yielded and then moves off to 26W. (P--)

ENEMY and NPC ACTIONS

The armored man at AG33 is unconscious and will be for at least one minute unless his poison is magically neutralized.

The GLOWING Green Border Assassin (an elf) takes no AoO and stays prone.

Black Border Assassin (a half-orc) at 34AH takes a full round action to coup de grace the armored fellow. He carefully aims his punching dagger and tries to thrust it into the armored fellow where it will do the most damage. Delivering a coup de grace is a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity. The assassin’s AC is 19. The only characters positioned to make AoOs against the assassin are the unnamed dire bat and Wilford. Matt, please make an attack for the bat. The DM sadly looks things over and concludes that Wil is compeltely unarmed and unable to take an AoO against the assassin -- please correct me if I am wrong.

We’ll assume the dire bat does not reduce the assassin to 0 hp or less. If it does, we’ll retcon the rest of this post.

The assassin, possibly damaged by an AoO but not dead, completes his coup de grace. That means the target suffers a critical hit with sneak attack damage. Rolling that out, the armored man takes 3d4+9+3d6 damage, or 29 damage total. The damage does not kill the armored guy. However, now he must make a fort save vs DC10+damage, or 39. Only a nat 20 will save the armored guy. The roll on an unmodified d20 is a 20. The armored guy is dead. The half-orc makes a strange ululating cry of triumph.

The invisible assassin attacked by Cicero the Shadow Bat takes off running toward Grubbertown.

Hmerrin looks around as he comes closer. He does not see anyone who could be Sell-Sea, although there are bystanders standing around. But no.

Lornak can make an action that we can retcon if needed.

Wilford looks around and sees the faerie fired assassin laying on the ground over there.

Wil’s unnamed dire bat (P20) chases the invisible assassin, but that one ran off last round -- that’s 120 ft of move, and that’s out of blindsense range. Dusan can see him racing away. But the bat cannot, and does not know where to go.

Wil’s pal Cicero the shadow dire bat (P36) attacks the visible half-orc assassin and hits for 8 more damage.

ENEMY and NPC ACTIONS

The Glowing Green Border Assassin (an elf) takes no AoO and stays prone. He has taken 28 damage.

The Black Border Assassin (a half-orc) drops his warming dagger, draws and drops his crossbow, falls prone, and shouts loudly: “MERCY! MERCY! I SURRENDER!” He has taken 32 damage.

The invisible human male “bystander” assassin continues to run away. He is about 250 ft from Dusan and most likely out of sight by now. He took 15 damage before running off.

Does anyone want a map? I’m happy to consider that combat is now over, considering that there is no one attacking or planning to!

"Mercy? Why should we give you mercy when you had no qualms aboult killing a helpless person yourself? If the tables were turned I seriously doubt you'd be merciful." Toston queries the half orc using a swift action to charge his elf blade with magic and then presses the blade to the half-orc's throat.

Toston's frustration with this whole affair boils to the surface and he says "I'm serious I have half a mind to do you like you just did Sellsea and I think I would be justified so give me one good reason why I shouldn't."

Cicero began to complain. "Mercy.. man.. Don't stop! I'm going to kill him."
Will argued for moments with the shadow. The shadow bat hovered, menacing the man, getting ready to strike when Wil cast "Blindness" on the man hoping he fails the Will save and will suffer permanent injury. Will apologizes to Toston for stepping in then continued arguing with his Shadow.
"I'm so tired of this constant questioning of me. Come on, you got to give me some credit that I can do the right thing. We cannot take a life just because you want too..."
Will then walked away pulling the shadow bat with him.

Lornak's comes around the corner of the a merchant booth to witness the armored man take a mortal wound. (Move action) Lornak's stomach drops as her realizes that the fallen man is Sell Sea, the groups charge to protect. His running pace slows immediately to a few steps and then halts. "No..." He sighs. His grip on his crossbow tightens. "Ghaaa!" He growls. His flare of anger fires his movements. He swiftly turns and pursues the assassin he did not end. "We can at least capture the offenders."

Lornak rushes up to the prone elf that he previously left behind. He grabs the back of the elf's neck in a deathgrip, shoves his face into the dirt and places the stirrup of his crossbow onto the base of his skull. "Don't. Move." Lornak waits there until someone can tie him. Maybe he will allow someone to cure his wounds, maybe...

With the body now preserved, Dušan goes through his options. He starts with Deathwatch, fearing confirmation of what he already believes true.

Dušan turns to the assassin, his friends anger reflecting in his eyes as he speaks, "As much as as I'm tempted to let you all proceed, his testimony may still prove useful. What if I told you there may still be a way for Sell-Sea to testify? Speak With Dead would allow this shell to prove useful yet. Might even give the spirit some closure."

"If he was going to a meeting, would it mean anything to the others that he died just outside?" Gesturing to the corpse before them. "Could we take the two assassins in? They might not know much but it's a clear message."

"Well, @$#$%!!!" Hmerrin bellows, as he realizes the body is the guy they were trying not to get killed.

The lad fumes for a bit, until the words of Dusan and Gaffer break through.

"Might as well try," he acknowledges. "All they can do is throw us out."
"You two carry the body. Dusan, you're gonna have to try and sweet talk us past the guards.
Var, how 'bout you and Wil make sure the half orc comes too?"

Hmerrin turns, stalks back to Glowy, and with one hand pulls him up by the back of the shirt (his battleaxe is gripped tightly in the other hand).
"C'mon you", he growls, half dragging the wounded man toward the palace gates.

Toston says, "I dunno about casting speaks with dead. It takes a while to cast and I don't think the spell works the way you think it does. From what I understand magic just makes the body answer questions and it can lie or resist if it isn't aligned with you. `I'm not sure if the prince will trust the word of some random dead guy. Check his body for hard evidence to back up the claim."

Toston turns back to the half-orc, "That is unless you happen to know something that could help us, if you do maybe I won't have to open your neck vein."

Toston frankly tells the surrendered assassin that he is THIS CLOSE to offing the fellow, unless he gets a reason not to. The assassin lies still and says calmly, “Well, I’m a professional, good sir, so my Guild will repatriate me per the usual agreements and covenants. That is a substantial reason not to kill me, I hope. Also I will tell you what I know of this job. That’s all it is to me, you understand -- a job.” Toston is not sure the Speak with Dead spell is the way to go. He searches the body and finds only one notable item -- a whistle worn around the dead guy’s neck.

Wilford argues with ... who? But then comes back to reality long enough to seek to blind the assassin. It is a second level spell, and Will has a casting stat of 12, so the save DC is 13. The assassin rolls a 14 and saves.

Var and Lornak keep the half-orc covered. Lornak asks someone to tie him up.

Dušan suggests a Speak with Dead spell to let Sell-Sea testify from beyond the grave.

Gaffer cures Var and proposes bringing the dead fellow and the two assassins into the Threats Committee meeting.

Hmerrin agrees with that and fetches the glowy assassin.

After a bit more incentive, both assassins tell the same story: They used scrolls of Locate Creature to find anyone named Sell-Sea Staffing who entered the market -- and then to kill him. That's really all they know, you feel confident after you make some really high sense motive rolls that your kindly DM rolled for you in his head. At the very least, that confirms this fellow's identity, if the whistle did not do it. With Wil's persuasion, they come along without trouble.

It is an interesting procession that makes its way to the palace: The seven of you, two living bound assassins, and a corpse.

The Palace Guards move to block your entry. One of them says, “What’s this, eh?”

Lornak "This is Sell Sea, come out of hiding to delivery testimony at the Threats Working Group meeting taking place right now." Lornak waits until someone shows the guards proof of his identity by presenting the whistle. "These men..." He gestures to the bound assassins. "...have been captured by us while assassinating the merchant. We request to humbly deliver them to The Prince for prosecution to make up for our failings in protecting him. Also, to present evidence as to why he was chosen to die." (Diplomacy d20=24)

Toston says to the guard, "Sellsea died a hero, he risked it all to testify what he knew of a clear and present danger to Dirt City. I would say more but it is best discussed out of the range of prying ears as we don't want to cause a panic."

To the half-orc Toston says, "Try anything and you will get clawed up and bitten, I promise you"
