Strike The Iron Dragons

Tink points out that for being a dead deity Sesha still has a way of showing up.

Garrett considers taking a nap but thinks better of it since they still have guests. He decides to go down and socialize some more.

Zane wonders why anyone would think the dragons would forget where they came from and decides to make sure the party ends the right way by bringing up a keg from the cellar.

Beri grabs a glass of wine and socializes some more himself, pointing out the length of Sesha's absence.

Sesha is pleased by both herself and her Goddess. She makes small talk with Dharlia and confirms to Beri that cat's are sensitive creatures.

Bosk suggests making Porliel their unofficial mascot and checks for some food for the cat.

Restlin is happy that the cat is found and that a Goddess crashed their party. He elbow's Jimbim and says to the man, "Ain't no party like a Dragon party..."

Jimbim says to Restlin, "Yes I can certainly say the two parties I've been to involving you guys were some of the most interesting that I've been to."

Torm says to Beri, "I'm......glad.......we......found.....the.......cat."

Dharlia says to Sesha, "I honestly don't know how I ended up at the Orphanage. The first thing I remember is waking up a the orphanage. They say I showed up at their door exhausted and just collapsed so they took me to bed. That was where I woke up. I don't know if I have a family or what but no one has ever come looking for me."

The party ends with a procession of the guests and the dragons heading to the orphanage with Porliel, Dharlia and the rest of the orphanage delegation in the lead. Certainly with the fanfare of a dragon group much attention has been drawn to the orphanage.

The dragons head home on the tails of their first successful party and are in the square outside of the Iron Tower Castle when they see Rodrigo, handyman at the at the guilded boar wave to a red gnome who casts a spell sprouts red draconic wings and takes to the sky.

The door to a warehouse near the dragon tower bursts open and a Dwarf riding a draconic mount and a man emerge.

The man casts a spell and immediately starts flickering. (Spellcraft DC 18 Highlight to display spoiler: {blink})

The dwarf fires a crossbow bolt at Restlin. (37 vs AC; 25 damage)

Two flying winged draconic looking minotaurs ([knowledge[arcane]: 22 Highlight to display spoiler: {half white dragon}) suddenly appear as well as a half orc wearing a claw necklace made from liontaur claws, a red cloak from tanned centaur hide, and a Totem Bag.

The half-orc cleric casts a spell and the courtyard erupts into rolling flames. (Everyone 50 fire damage; reflex DC 26; if you fail you are on fire taking 4d6 per round but can make a DC 20 reflex save to put it out)

The two minotaurs swoop down once the flames are gone and gang up on Zane with their axe and sword. Both blades find their mark and the taur takes 75 damage.

Rodrigo casts a spell and disappears. (spellcraft DC 19 Highlight to display spoiler: {greater invisibility})

(OOC: Please take 37k exp for the escape from Fae Skiemir, 29k exp for the dragon celebration and 15k for this scene. also I forgot to mention besides the vault of cursed items there is a second vault in the Tower filled with treasure between the gifts, the second vault and Fae Skiemir loot there is enough loot for you all to be at the 315,000 WBL you should be for level 16

Tink looks about as the peace is shattered. She utters a number of words, any one of which would make a decent person blush. A part of her had hoped that with the group being declared part of the Dragon Consortium that it would scare danger away from their doorstep; that Hook would become a safer and calmer place. Obviously she was mistaken.

The attack was enough to trigger the rune on her shield, and she hopes there aren't any bystanders too close.

She's not sure who these people are, but she can see that one of them has cast an Invisibilty Spell. "Let's make his day a little tougher"

Tink responds with a Glitterdust spell targetted at the man who went invisible.

She knows she's not the most resilient of the group, so looks for some sort of nearby cover to hide behind.

"Anyone know who these guys are or what they want?"

OOC: 16? We're level 15...or did I miss something? Also, is that reflex save vs. the 50 fire damage for half, or just to avoid catching on fire?

Restlin gasps as the dwarf's bolt and the flames nearly kill him (reflex 27 - pass). He sees the spells being cast, and sees the half-dragon (all skill checks autopass). He sees through Rodrigo's invisibility (Restlin has permanent see invisible).

He wants to attack, but knows he'll likely bite it if he doesn't act defensively. "Make me hearty, Shiny," he telepathically asks his sword. He then grips the pommel and activates his arcane focus. He hates using it so early in the battle, but it's worth it. He casts mislead on himself, superimposing the illusion directly over himself.

The real, but invisible Restlin then finds cover behind a building while the illusionary one pretends to start casting summon monster VI.

Garret is smiling and laughing as he leaves the orphanage and heads back to the Iron Dragon castle. Or is it the Castle of the Iron Dragons? He isn't sure, but as he ponders, the massive fire explodes all around him, quickly singing his furry feet and setting him on fire (Reflex: 19)! Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Zane getting attacked. He quickly dives to the ground to roll around and put out the flames. At the same time, he looks around to ensure there are no other innocents caught in the flames or the battle (perception: 36). He then leaps to his feet, flanking one of the creatures that has attacked Zane (acrobatics: 39).

Zane will attack the Draconic Taur that Garrett is flanking with him, After the attack, he uses a 5' step to move to the side where he won't be flanked by a 5' step there by being able to get AoO's from his attackers....
"I got hit extremely hard, heck, it'd have possibly killed half of us it was hard enough.....I can't take much more of that concentrated force.... "
He avoided a bit of the fire damage, but took some of it, and managed not to be caught on fire, what really bothers him, is not being able to avoid the flying charges from two separate directions......

So I says to Mabel, I says....
An explosion of flames come screaming down on the group and Beri tosses himself to the side, far enough away that future attacks shouldn't hit the entire group, knocking out the flames as he rolls to the side (and behind cover if possible). Beri assesses the situation and talks into his ring
What in the Wold! Why would anyone... De Rais! I was just talking about this monster at the party. That scumbag is evil arcane spellcaster, he possessed the minds of children and forced them to attack us in Hook City's sewers, making them explode as a last act of terror. He was also responsible for the deaths of two ghosts that used to live in our tower... and he just cast Blink! Still up to his tricks.

Well, I was planning on storing this in my staff tonight, but I see no reason to wait.

Sesha muses over Dhalia. Serenbeth's advice was to adopt her, or train her, but ultimately left it up to Sesha. She considers asking Restlin for advice, then everything explodes in fire.

The force of the explosion is enough to stagger her a bit. The flames cling to her, and she is suddenly in a very bad place.

She tries to consider her options. Retreat would be best, but there's too many of them spread out. They wouldn't all make it in one spell, though. Everyone had already scattered.

Slowly instincts begin to creep in. She could save anyone with a touch, so she needed to prioritize herself, for now. She starts with a healing spell for herself.

"Heads up. Your favorite Bloodwitch had been caught completely unprepared. Do your best everyone, a longer fight favors us!"

She quickly starts cauterizing the bleeding, and healing magic pours from her in thick heavy gushes of power.

As the celebration ends The Horned Cleric feels power surge through him as he comes closer to Jancassis in his role as an Avenger...only to feel his goddess strip it away again. Her disappointment is clear. He has not yet obtained his vengeance and cannot yet take that final step (level) of Avenger. Until that time he must grow as a Grim and track down the one who wronged him, the one he marked for his sacred vengeance....

Suddenly chaos erupts around him as he recognizes a small darf just in time to become engulfed in fire [/i]Look Out! It is Des Rais, and he is using blink and the other cast greater invisibillty[/i] Bosk calls out over the telepathic bond as chaos erupts around him.

The Grim Avenger lashes out instinctively at any enemies around him before he follows his renewed nemesis lead and activates his blink ring, cursing himself for deactivating it for the ceremony. His first instinct if to go after Des Rais, but seeing his fellow taur get ganged up on he draws his sword and moves over to join him and to try to draw some attention away from him.

Tink's shield gets triggered by the attack.and she follows up with a glitterdust spell targetting the invisible assailant.

Restlin has shiny cast Bear's endurance on him, then casts mislead himself before taking cover.

Garrett was pondering the nature of their castle when the world bursts into flames and he catches fire. He spends a round putting out the flames but leaps up and gains flanking.

Zane flurries back at the draconic taur that Garrett and he are flanking.

Beri sends over the link that De Rais is one of their assailants, takes cover and activates his staff giving the party backup in the form of Treant

Bosk tries to point out De Rais before lashing out at the enemies and activating the blink ring while moving to gain flanking. One of Bosk's attacks actually clips one of the taurs.

Sesha ponders the advice that Serenbeth gave her regarding Dharlia and plans to ask Restlin his thoughts when the world erupts into flames. She then casts healing spells on herself, Zane and the party as a whole.

None of Zane's attacks hit the half dragon taur.

The mounted dwarf gains a little bit of distance and continues to fire another bolt at "Restlin" (Will:28) He realizes that the mage priest he just fired on is an illusion.

The winged dwarf circles around and attempts a spell (Spellcraft 22 Highlight to display spoiler: {hold person, mass}) targeting Zane, Garrett, Sesha, and Bosk (Please make a DC 24 will save or become paralyzed)

The two flying dragon minotaurs turn their attention towards Zane. The sword wielding taur misses but the axe wielding taur hits for 34 damage.

One of the taurs is weakened by Tink's shield.

De Rais gets within 70 feet of Garrett and casts dominate monster on the Treant. (Treant must make a will save vs 28 or become dominated by De Rais)
If the Treant fails the save De Rais calls out, "Thank you for the Treant Beriothian, the better to smash you all with"

Rodrigo is not blinded but is still covered in shiny dust. No one else was within range.

Rodrigo does not take too kindly to being un-invisibled and fires back at Tink with a green ray. spellcraft 21Highlight to display spoiler: {disintegrate} (24 vs 17 touch) Tink needs to make a DC 22 fort save or take 77 damage or 19 damage on a successful save

The half-orc with the red cloak calls out, "Hey Bosk. I'm gonna skin you and add your pelt to my ensemble and your bones to my totem back. At least then you'll be reunited with your mother."

He moves within 65 feet of the fighting and casts a spell targetting Garrett. spellcraft 23 Highlight to display spoiler: {destruction} Garett needs to make a DC 24 fort save or take 150 damage. If slays Garrett he is consumed in unholy fire. If Garrett makes the fort save he takes 28 points of damage.

Struggling to finally extinguish the flames, Sesha sucks in her breath to shout back at De Rais.

"Last laugh is on you De Rais. First rule of enchantment warfare is learning what's immune!", feeling smug, Sesha is immediately thankful for her lessons with the WLA. They had taught her a lot more minutia about magic and nature, and that Plants were immune to compulsions was good news.

Her smile fades when the half-orc, obviously having a history with Bosk, fires back.

"Bosk. Your call, do we neutralize him and save him for later or do we watch you cut him into to bits small enough for your totem bag? Also, for both you and Zane, if those guys in front of you go slack, hit em with a big finish and move on."

Still without a broom, Sesha is stuck on the ground for now. She takes a moment to make sure she's got both of the flying Taurs in her sights, then takes a deep breath and lets the same spell cast by the dwarf flow into her foes.

"A longer fight favors us? Really?" Tink isn't sure she agrees with Sesha's analysis of the fight. Whoever these guys were they had a lot of firepower - perhaps more than any other foe Tink had witnessed.

Tink takes a step forwards and targets the half-orc in the red cloak with a spell

Note: Tink's shield cannot be used offensively. If she moves within 60ft of someone they don't need to make a save. If they subsequently move closer, however, they do need to save.

Restlin blinks. Did that orc just insult Bosk's mother? Oh snap...this was going to get ugly.

He slams his quicken rod into the ground, sending out a shockwave that quickens his friends' movements. (Swift spell: haste)

He considers summoning help, but De Rais was pretty good at enchantment. Probably not the best idea. Let's see how well that dwarf can aim with one of these in his face. Gripping Shiny, he first asks the sword to make him smarter. He then pulls the sword apart, creating a duplicate of his shimmering weapon. That duplicate flies quickly towards the dwarf and attacks.

Restlin then moves to new cover, his casting giving away his previous position.

Garret feels the healing power of Sesha's magic flow through him, followed quickly by blasts from the mages. He recoils from the magical power, but shakes them off and focuses in on the flanked Taur with a flurry of blows.

A wave of energy washes over Bosk as the winged dwarf casts a spell. The cleric shrugs it off, but is certain he would not have wanted to succumb to whatever it was meant to do. The cleric takes his AoO on anyone close enough and begins transferring his rage at the comment on his mother out on his prey. I warned you to disable him... (If the mother blasphemer is within reach and not disabled Bosk will go after him in a full attack. If not he will continue after wounded the half dragon.

Sesha struggles to put out the flames and then shouts back at Rais that he wasted a spell. She then follows back with a hold person spell targetting the dragon taurs.

Apparently Sesha needs a lesson on immunity as well. Both Half Dragon taurs are unaffected by the paralysis.

Tink questions how a long fight favors them before moving closer to the half-orc and firing off a ray of enervation which hits the half-orc

Restlin has shiny make him smarter, hastes everyone and then casts mage's sword targetting the mounted dwarf.

Garrett flurries the wounded Taur hitting 4 times.

Zane attacks the axe wielding taur and continues to miss.

Beri's Treant springs into existence and attacks (OOC: what is it attacking? I will recalculate damage but De Rais is 70 feet away so I don't think it will get two slams if it charges De Rais)

Beri starts summoning air elementals.

The mounted dwarf spurs the draconic mount to get within 30 feet of Tink and then unloads with a cone of fire for 27 damage (reflex save vs 20 for half) The mount gets hit by Tink's shield.

The axe wielding draconic taur attacks Garrett. The axe wielding taur hits 4 times (51,48,43,37) for 36 + 32 + 32 + 28 = 128 damage.

The sword wielding taur attacks Bosk and strikes once (36 vs AC) for 26 damage.

Still gripping the swift rod, Restlin casts resist energy (fire) on himself before stowing it in his quiver & replacing it with his maximize rod.

Taking aim at the injured taur, he sends 3 beams of searing energy its way.

"Let's not rule a tactical retreat off the table. These guys aren't pushovers and they caught us by surprise. No dishonor in retreating a few moments to heal and buff ourselves."

Zane feels himself begin to slow down to a immobile state and using his heroic stature, he shakes off the feeling and again tries to hit the half-dragon near him,
Zane use an action to cast Heroism on himself, then uses another Hero Point to take a flurry of attacks on the sword wielder this time, after taking another 5' step, trying to make the other half-dragon have to accept an attack of opportunity if he moves very much.

His flurry of strikes plus Haste, all miss (according to last round a 28 AC misses)

Three huge air elementals appear and join the fray
Beri points to the cleric, the flying gnome, and Rodrigo, then twirls his finger in the air.

The elementals split off and each target their mark, turning into a furious spinning whirlwind and attempting to trap their mark withing the vortex.

*Because of their size they will attempt to capture multiple enemies in their wind if they can but focusing on the above targets. Should all three be caught in the whirlwinds the final one will hold their action and attempt to recapture any who should escape.*

Garrett drops like a sack of potatoes.

Restlin asks shiny to make him nimble before casting resist energy fire on himself and firing scorching rays at the injured taur. He suggests over the link that they consider a strategic retreat to buff and heal.

Zane heroically shakes off the paralysis buffs himself with heroism and then attempts to attack the taur but all his attacks miss.

Bosk braces himself for an onslaught but it is not what he expects.

Beri's Treant continues to attack De Rais, this time both of its attacks miss the wizard.

Beri's air elementals show up and target Rodrigo, the flying gnome and the cleric with the vortex.

The gnome avoids being sucked up, as does Rodrigo, but the cleric is caught in the vortex and takes damage. The gnome does take damage from the buffeting winds though.

Beri asks if anyone needs help. Finds out about Garrett but since Sesha seems to be on it he turns into a fire elemental.

Tink fires off an enervation at the axe wielding taur and the beam hits.

Sesha heals Garrett

Bosk disarms both taurs of their weapons and causes the taur who used to wield the sword to go down.

The mounted dwarf spurs his dragon mount and they do a flyby attack on Sesha. The draconic creature is wielding a glaive, but the weakened creature misses as it fly's by.

The disarmed minotaur formerly wielding the sword takes a full round withdraw action to fly 120 feet from the battle with Zane, Garrett, Sesha and Bosk.

The dying minotaur does not stabilize

The flying gnome casts chain lightning targeting Sesha as the primary (62 electricity damage or half on successful DC 26 save) with Bosk, Zane and Garrett needing to make DC 24 saves (62 full / 31 half on successful saves)

De Rais casts a defensive spell of his own on the defensive again. (spellcraft 21 Highlight to display spoiler: {mislead})

Rodrigo flys over to where the dwarf is being harassed by Restlin's blade and dispels it with a spell. (spellcraft 18 Highlight to display spoiler: {dispel magic}

The half orc succeeds on his concentration check and casts a spell from within the whirlwind (spellcraft 20 Highlight to display spoiler: {dispel good}) and then touches the whirlwind (19 vs 18 touch; whirlwind must make a DC 22 will save or be forced back to its home plane.

As Garret makes his way to his feet, he says over the link, "Thank you, Sesha, I thought I was going to see Gargul for sure on that one."

He blinks and looks around the battlefield and is pleased to see one of the half-dragon monsters down. He sees the chain lightning flash and he ducks under the bolt as it crashes around him (reflex: 36). He looks at all the creatures flying around him and then he remembers the vest that Tink had given him that allows him to fly as well! Anyone watching him sees him flash blue, the disappear into blackness. He re-appears right behind Rodrigo.

I am hoping he will not be noticed (Stealth: 27) in the battle and that Rodrigo will go about his business. Then, if Rodrigo moves, Garret should get a sneak attack (not a real one, but an AOO). If he does get the AOO, he will attempt to use stunning fist as well:

Restlin is pleased that he is mostly unaffected & seems undetected. That's good.

He sees De Rais cast mislead (spellcraft: autopass). He can still see the guy because he can see invisible. Tink can too, but that's not good enough.

He swaps the maximize rod out for the quicken rod again & casts glitterdust on De Rais actual location. "Beri, make sure that treant knows to attack the glittery De Rais!"

Restlin then sends another mage's sword after the dwarf. Best to not let that guy use his crossbow...

gnome avoids being sucked up, as does Rodrigo, but the cleric

Air Elementals 1- hp 115:(returned home)
There is a loud Whoosh as the elemental is returned from whence it came from the cleric within.

Air Elementals 2- hp 115: +4 to constitution and strength
The cocky gnome remains within the Air elemental's reach, and the cleric is once again free. The second air elemental will attempt to gnab the gnome within his winds, if he succeeds he will stay where he is and will avoid the cleric should he approach (held action), however should the gnome still be free from his whinds he will fly over to the cleric and attempt to continue his brother's work.

Air Elementals 3- hp 115: +4 to constitution and strength
Continuing his chase of Rodrigo, the air elemental also tries to nab the dwarf Rodrigo was interacting with, along with any foes he may be able to snatch along the way.

The treant looks towards the druid in frusteration, unclear why his attacks missed.

Fire elemental Beri stretches out an arm and points towards "the glittery De Rais" , slightly flexing his arms as he does so to try to make his flames mimic the glittering that De Rails is currently doing.

Zane then takes a moment and summons his wings, then takes off chasing after the flying half-dragon. As he follows him he pulls out his bow, Yes he has a head start , but with someone chasing, he should keep going.....

Tink targets De Rais with a dispel spell but the spell fizzles as a ley line moves suddenly.

Garrett avoids the lightning bolt and then takes an abundant step combined with the air vest to get behind Rodrigo.

Restlin targets the area that De Rais is in with Glitterdust. De Rais does not get blinded but the invisible blinking mage is now sparkly but still blinking. Restlin sends another mage sword at the mounted Dwarf.

Bosk gets struck by the lightning and then finishes off the downed minotaur grabbing an ear.

Beri's Treant attacks the sparkly De Rais. One of his attacks strikes while De Rais is ethereal but the other lands true.

One of Beri's elementals pops back home.

The second elemental tries to suck up the gnome again and succeeds this time.

The third tries to get Rodrigo but the nimble trickster is able to avoid getting sucked up or taking any damage from the buffeting winds. The dwarf and his large red draconic mount are not sucked up either. Both however take 13 damage from the winds.

Beri casts true seeing on himself, the only thing he notices is Restlin's true location.

Zane avoids the lightning and then sprouts his own wings following after the flying gnome, drawing his bow while he does so.

Sesha avoids some of the lightning and then glares at the flyers summoning a spectral hand.

The dwarf and his draconic mount make another strafing run on Sesha, her ghost hand and Bosk the dragon raining fire down on the taur and the dark elf. (36 fire damage; DC 20 for half; recharged next round)

The remaining flying taur draws a javelin and throws it targeting Sesha and her ghost hand. It transforms into a bolt of lightning (18 electric damage; DC 14 for half)

The gnome concentrates and succeeds then casts a spell. Where once a small gnome was trapped in the vortex a huge red dragon bursts free from the vortex as it can not contain a creature of this size.

De Rais takes a five foot step away from the Treant and follows up with a defensively cast spell targetting the Treant. Spellcraft DC 23 Highlight to display spoiler: { finger of death}. (DC 24 fort save or take 170 damage or 17 points of damage on a successful save)

Rodrigo (Perception: 37) notices Garret's approach and decides to turn the tables using the arcane trickster's impromptu sneak attack ability against the halfling making a full attack with his rapier. Lucky for Garrett Rodrigo isn't able to hit the nimble monk.

The half-orc cleric casts another spell (Spellcraft DC 20 Highlight to display spoiler: { flame strike } ) and a large column of flame rains down on Sesha, her hand, Bosk and fire elemental Beri (DC: 24 or take : 49 fire damage; with 24 damage on a successful save. on save failure 24 damage is profane & not subject to magic fire resistance and on successful save 12 damage is profane and not subject to magic fire resistance)

Restlin stows his spent quicken rod. These jerks were out-damaging the Iron Dragons. That needed to stop.

Zane flys over to the Dragon and rider, spends a Ki point to up his AC by 4 for the round and then tries to be overly Heroic,( expending a hero point for +8) by initiating a grapple with the dragon, knowing it will cause them both to fall to the ground, along with the rider.....

Sesha weathers the light attacks against her, but not she had a problem. All this hurt was stacking up, and she hadn't had a chance to recover any extra life-force. Not that this was a shootout, firepower was something she didn't have a lot of. She needed a moment or two to recover.

"Anyone that needs a moment, I'm taking one. Going to the spirit realm ifor a moment in 6..5..4..3...2..1.."

After that, Sesha takes herself, and whomever else wants to go, to the Realm of shadow. Her first instruction is very clear.

"Do NOT take a single step!"

She starts simple, using heroic effort to heal herself. She then grabs a leyline and forces another spell, quickly casting Bears Endurance.

I would be scorched worse than Beri's pot roast with out it. Count me in. How long are you staying on the other side? It will affect my spells. With no more enemies in reach Bosk joins Sesha in the Shadow realm where he casts activates his dark walk ability (or True Strike if Sesha only plans to remain there for this round.

Tink steps closer and fires off an enervation ray at De Rais giving the wizard 3 negative levels.

Garrett ducks under Rodrigo's rapier and then responds with a flurry of blows.

Restlin stows his quicken rod then sends a disintegration ray at the half-orc cleric advocating concentrating their fire. Restlin overcomes the cleric's spell resistance (29 vs 25; and cleric fails save: 18)

Zane taps into his ki to give himself an offensive boost. He then heroically attempts to grapple the dragon and rider. The dragon lashes out with his glaive but the taur is easily able to duck under it and then grapples the dragon. The 3 tangled creatures fall to the ground (OOC: Since the dragon fire strafed Sesha last round I'll rule 30 feet off the ground; 10 falling damage to dwarf, draconic mount and Zane)

Beri's Treant succumbs to De Rais's finger of death and the creature turns to dust.

Tink steps closer and fires off an enervation ray at De Rais giving the wizard 3 negative levels.

Garrett ducks under Rodrigo's rapier and then responds with a flurry of blows.

Restlin stows his quicken rod then sends a disintegration ray at the half-orc cleric advocating concentrating their fire. Restlin overcomes the cleric's spell resistance (29 vs 25; and cleric fails save: 18)

Zane taps into his ki to give himself an offensive boost. He then heroically attempts to grapple the dragon and rider. The dragon lashes out with his glaive but the taur is easily able to duck under it and then grapples the dragon. The 3 tangled creatures fall to the ground (OOC: Since the dragon fire strafed Sesha last round I'll rule 30 feet off the ground; 10 falling damage to dwarf, draconic mount and Zane)

Beri's Treant succumbs to De Rais's finger of death and the creature turns to dust.

Garret is annoyed that the monsters keep escaping, but he figures he can only fight what he can see. He pauses to watch the neat visual fireworks with the dragon firing a cone a fire in a vortex and he wonders if that could be a weapon somehow. As he is thinking, the lightning javelin flies through the air towards him. He leans slightly to the side while flying and reaches up to grab the javelin out of the air (reflex: 36, Snatch arrows feat). He starts to laugh about the javelin when the dragon decides that Garret looks tasty. Garret shudders a moment (27 will save), but then starts to dodge, but is unable to move around all the nasty attacks (blur miss: 89).

He flies closer to the dragon (5' step) and unleashes another flurry of blows, trying to bring down another dragon (at least in his mind).

The second catches the party waving and pointing, and the air elemental flys towards it's new target. Should the cleric could caught in it's vortext great! Otherwise the frusterated elemental will cancel it's whirlwind spell and attack in a more direct fasion

Well, even if the fire doesn't hurt them, the elemental was going to do it's best to hold them and continue to damage them as best it could.

No worries, that's plenty of time for me to finish my summon as well
Reverse gravity doesn't seem to be particularly useful with all the air combat, so the druid starts spontaneously starts channeling it to call forth another (d4+1=3) huge air elementals to add to their air support and to give more resources that can penetrate antilife shell if needed.

With things at ground level looking under control, Tink ascends 40ft in the air and casts Telekinesis. She's intent on stopping the blind gnome-dragon from escaping

Beri returns, and looks around with his true seeing. If there are any hidden threats he will tag them with faerie fire and direct two of his newly summoned elementals to attack, as well as notify the others via ring. Otherwise he will have them also fly above De Rais.

Got it Bosk!
The druid points towards the second elemental and directs him to fly up, above De Rais. Once Bosk has finished his action he will direct the elemental to stop it's whirlwind and pound De Rais (or any standing enemy should De Rais have fallen). The two other elementals will join this attack if there were no other threats approaching. The final elemental he points in the direction of elemental 3 and ready an action to turn into whirlwind should the captives escape early. Beri then summons his lightining storm.

As the elemental clears from Bosk's path the ground begins to shake as the large minotaur comes barreling through like a freight train. The taur's fur is a blond fur as he charges forth and wraps his massive arms around De Rais, his arms not quite blinking in unison with his quarry, but his ghost touch ability allowing him to maintain his grip despite De Rais somewhat insubstantial state.

Sesha drops her summoning spell as soon as her Flesh Golem arrives. She quickly scopes out the battle, only to realize there isn't much of one left.

"Um. What happened?"

She puts a reassuring hand on Alice, the Ragdoll Golem she rescued from the labyrinth. Large strips of flesh were laced together with thick black thread, and the head of the creature was more or less covered in patches of long blond hair.

"Go on. Get em."

The Golem lets loose a cry, then lumbers into the combat at her masters command. A big awkward arm swings out, but does nothing.

Bosk curses as he sees his spell pretty much wasted by the time and decides it is time to have a little fun.

I trust you guys to take care of the taur I disarmed...I am going after the dragon.Casting teleport he aims himself to land upon the huge red polymorphed dragon (gnome) and then reaches deep within himself (hero point) to use another action and grapple the dragon...holding on tight as the two plummet to the earth. This is going to hurt you a lot more than it hurts me.

Tink attempts to inderdict the gnome-dragon with telekinesis but her grapple attempt fails.

Garrett hovers trying to figure out where he is needed next.

Zane takes off after the dragon.

Restlin attempts to grapple the half-dragon taur with his own telekinesis spell but luck does not seem to be with the mage priest either.

Beri returns and starts summoning his lighting storm. He directs his one elemental to hold the dwarf and dragon for one last round.

Sesha pops back into existence with her golem seeing there isn't much of a battle left.

Bosk teleports onto the gnome dragon's back and initiates a grapple. (OOC: So I did some digging on grappling and flying and I think last grapple having a large creature grappling a weakened large creature carrying a medium creature would cause that weakened creature to fall from the sky, however Bosk a large creature is grappling a huge creature that is not weakened so if he pins it the dragon will fall otherwise the dragon only falls if it fails the fly check to hover) (Fly check vs 15 = 12 so it falls anyway )

The dragon and Bosk fall to the ground taking 68 falling damage. The dragon's stone skin absorbs some of the fall but it still takes a lot of damage. The gnome-dragon attempts to escape the grapple, fails then in a show of great effort (OOC: hero point) attempts to cast a spell but fails to do so.

The dragon trapped in the vortex attempts to escape but remains trapped. The dwarf is also still trapped. Neither of them take damage from the wind burn.

The minotaur dragon run-flys another 240 feet then extends great effort to move another 60 feet (OOC:hero point)

Sesha watches Alice continue to try and subdue the dragon rider in the vortex. She decides to wait and see for now. She calls out to her Flesh Guardian.

"Don't kill it. Just knock it down and move on to the next."

Alice: Hit's AC's 27 and 23 for 19 and 15 damage.

As she watches Alice, she can't help but feel a pang of sorrow for all her witchy menagerie. Alice was obviously a creature stuck in a painful existence, but by Sesha's logic, it was better for Alice to have a purpose that was decidedly NOT evil.

Her ghostly friends, the Sisters of Serenbeth, were also stuck in a perpetual state of undeath. Apparently they chose such a fate, allowing their ghosts to be made accessible to those of Serenbeth's choosing.

And of course, her cohort Y'zargo. He wasn't undead, just woman crazy and almost unbearably foolish. She had perhaps, the least sympathy for him, but Serenbeth paired them because of his ability to schmooze nobles and his incredible grasp on religious lore.

When Bosk sees Garret eating Marteaus thrice cursed turkey leg he practically yells oer the ring as he falls, Put that blasted leg away and help me fight this thing. I may have emasculated him in the air, but that will not stop him from eating me when we crashhhhh.... There is a loud thud as Bosk and the dragon crash to the earth.

Pain courses through the cleric's body as he feels the force of the impact trying to push his bones out through his skin....followed immediately by a wave of relief as his contingency spell takes effect and heals his broken body some.

With the fall knocking both hom and the dragon prone he realizes he is now at a disadvantage against the huge dragon and its thick hide. Rather than trying to cut through the creature's thick scales he does a full attack using his chill touch attacks. As they land the damage is less than he expects, and he silently curses himself for forgetting that it is an energy attcak and not a cold attack like he was thinking. As the effects of the haste spell kick in and boost his power he drives his sword as deep as he can.

He then prepares to strike out at the dragon should it attempt to rise of cast a spell.

Zane continues to fly after the fleeing half-dragon taur.

Garrett ponders chasing down the adversaries but instead decides his friends have it so he starts snacking on a turkey leg.

Restlin attempts to grapple the flying taur again. This time the mage priest succeeds.

Sesha directs Alice to go after the dwarven dragon rider who was previously stuck in the vortex. Both attacks bounce harmlessly off the dwarf's armor. She reflects on the sad existence of many she has gathered in Serenbeth's name.

Beri sends a lightning bolt at the fleeing half dragon but the creature is able to avoid some of the damage.

(OOC: So I will rule that last round the air elementals could give chase to both off map creatures. I have 2 elementals w/ the dragon and rider, 2 elementals going after the minotaur and 1 elemental fighting the dragon with Bosk)

The 2 attacking the dragon with Bosk hit 3 times and miss once collectively. The stone skin absorbs much of the damage but some still gets through.

The single elemental attacking the telekinetically grappled half-dragon taur hits both times.

The elemental holding the dragon mount and dwarf reverts to its normal form as the backup elemental turns into a whirlwind to take its place. The dragon is once again entrapped and takes wind burn but the dwarf avoids getting trapped and taking damage.

Bosk chastises Garrett for munching on a turkey leg while he fights the gnome-dragon and then attacks the dragon with a combination of sword and sorcery. (OOC: DC 23 spellcraft to realize the spell cast was Highlight to display spoiler: {form of the dragon III}) The gnome-dragon loses consciousness and fails to stabilize.

Tink tries to grapple the gnome but it is already down.

The entrapped dragon fails to free itself from the new vortex.

The newly freed dwarf charges Beri drawing an a dwarven war axe as he does so but fails to penetrate Beri's natural armor.

The half-dragon taur breaks free from the grapple (34 vs (10 + int + dex + BAB = 28) and takes a full-round withdrawl action to get 120 feet further away.

Tink grapples the half-dragon minotaur telekinetically.

Garrett charges the dwarf when he sees it emerge from the cyclone and staggers the dwarf (21 on fort save)

Restlin shoots a green disintegration ray at the draconic mount trapped in the cyclone. The ray hits but the ,mount avoids the worst of the effects (15 vs 15 = pass)

Zane continues his pursuit of the fleeing half-dragon taur.

The dwarf manages to avoid some of the effects of the lightning strike (reflex 29 vs 25) but avoids all of Beri's fiery slam attacks.

The elemental attacking the dwarf succeeds with one of its attacks as does the elemental attacking the minotaur and the 2 elementals attacking the gnome-dragon with both attacks.

Bosk finishes off the gnome dragon and then moves towards the half-dragon taur.

After dying the gnome-dragon corpse reverts back to gnome form, lifeless.

The dragon mount takes windburn from the whirlwind but finally manages to escape.from the whirlwind it swoops down and snatches the dwarf up before continuing to try to fly away (OOC: provokes AOO from Beri)

The dwarf settles into the saddle on the draconic mount.

He tosses the thing lightly up in the air before smacking it with his maximize metamagic rod. The ball glows a bright red and streaks towards the dwarf and his mount before exploding around them.

I am going after the dwarf and last dragon. Next round I am going to dim door over to him. I can take others with me if you get to me in time (next round). Please, try not to kill this dragon. I would love to keep it as a mount!

Zane attacks the grappled taur and lands a solid blow but it is not a critical hit. The taur is hearty enough to avoid the effects of Zane's stunning attempt.

Beri 's attack of opportunity against the draconic mount bounces off against its armored hide.

Restlin aims a maximized fireball at the dwarf and its mount. The fireball instantly kills the mount when coupled with its previous injuries. The dwarf avoids some of the fireball but still falls from the sky when the fireball takes out the mount.

Beri's elemental sucks up the dragon carcass and unconscious dwarf as a bolt of lightning slams into the dwarf killing it.

The other elemental continues attacking the grappled taur only to have both slams miss. The other 2 elementals reach the grappled taur and one tries to suck him up. The taur avoids being sucked up by the first cyclone only to be sucked up by the second cyclone. He manages to avoid taking damage from either of the winds though.

Bosk casts air walk on himself but his plans for the draconic mount are no longer possible.

Sesha runs towards the dead gnome as her summoned creature passes its berserk test.

The minotaur tries to escape from the vortex and succeeds. The minotaur next tries to escape the grapple and succeeds(35 vs CMD of 30). The half-dragon taur flies another 60 feet away provoking attacks of opportunities from Zane and the elemental not in cyclone form.

Tink grinds her teeth as the dragon-taur once again slips her grasp. This combat has not favored her. She tries once again to grapple the fleeing but just can't get a good grip.

As the enemy flees, Zane strikes out and hits AC 33 for another 17 non-lethal damage.
He flies after him, and attacks again, being able to keep up with his current speed, he closes up to basically point blank range, allows himself to trigger an attack of opportunity. As he flies to attack, he draws the Kama and shunts it to AC to boost his armor class.

As the fireball explodes around him, Zane flinches a bit but then realizes that he doesn't have to dodge the blast...

Tink tries to grapple the half-dragon taur again but fails this time.

Garrett gets closer to the half-dragon taur and should be able to reach him next round if the other members of the team can prevent him from moving.

Restlin casts another fireball this one streaking towards the half dragon taur. The taur does manage to avoid some of the blast but his white dragon heritage still means he is injured by it more than another creature would be.

Zane hits the half dragon taur with his attack of opportunity and then gives chase. His follow up attack falls short.

Bosk loots the gnome and then uses dimension door to get over to the half dragon taur.

Beri sends another lightning bolt screaming towards the taur. The taur twists partially out of the way. The elemental druid then attempts to slam into the taur but his attacks cannot penetrate the creature's armor.

Beri 's cyclone elemental captures the taur again and although the creature does not take wind burn. It still moves the taur 200 feet closer to the party. The other cyclonic elementals prepare themselves to recapture the taur should it escape.

His non-cyclonic elemental also attacks the taur, hitting with its second slam.

His other non cyclonic taur just hovers as both the draconic mount and dwarf are dead.

The half-dragon taur escapes from the whirlwind that was trapping it only to be captured by the backup elemental.

It says as if reading Beri's mind, "I choose death before dishonor." it calls out from within the vortex.

Sesha watches the chase, and looks down at the gnome. He was dying. Now he was dead. Another missed chance.

She waits for Alice to catch up and commands the ragbound doll to sit. Absentmindedly, she starts brushing the golems sparse blond hair.

"The Dragons are fired up today. I imagine I'll be asked to track down the few that managed to escape.", she tugs on a snag in Alice's hair, then pauses her brushing.

"At least I didn't let anyone die. That's always a win for team Serenbeth. Speaking of which, time to give you a spell to hold. But what to pick?"

She thinks a moment, then decides on Mind Fog.

Restlin could throw another fireball, but suddenly wants this thing alive. The magepriest had nothing non-lethal left in his arsenal that could help, so he heads over to Sesha. "You brought that flesh doll thing to life, didn't you? You know Bosk is going to lose his mind, right?"

"At first, I thought she was sad but adorable to look at, and as a doll she called to my budding maternal instincts." She removes another tangle from the stringy blond hair. "I know it's silly, but whoever's skin she was made out of, as a doll, I felt like they were trapped. I added magic to the mix, and this is what happened. I think I suspected it would end up like this."

She looks at the flesh golem.

"She's in constant pain and terribly angry. She's also, for some reason, protective of me. When I first realized what I had done, I figured she'd hate me." Sesha pats the golem on the head, and it gurgles something like a purr.

"I feel like she's better off summoned here and given form than than being stuck as a doll, now that I've meddled with her. It was a horrible mistake to imbue Alice with a spirit, but now that I've made this thing, I feel responsible for her. She'll be with us as much as I can manage it."

The horned cleric does his best keep his calm and not kill his enemy. Reaching into the vortex he attempts to grapple the half taur, but the sudden image of the fleshy abomination distracts him...I should have just stabbed him... the cleric thinks as he wastes his opportunity.

Sesha reaches the gnome, sees that it died and then starts brushing her golems hair. She ponders what spell to give it to hold before deciding on Mind Fog.

Tink fails to grapple the Taur as it escapes from the vortex.

Garrett catches up to the Half-dragon taur only to realize the other Iron Dragons have the situation in hand.

Restlin offers a retort to the taurs own talk of honor and chooses to not throw any more damaging spells its way as he wants the creature alive. He then points out that Bosk may have a problem with Sesha's golem.

Zane flurries at the half-dragon taur hitting it twice for nonlethal damage.

Sesha explains what she did to the doll and how she feels responsible for it.

Beri and his elementals converge on the taur and manage to collectively hit it twice knocking it out.

Bosk tries to grapple the unconscious taur but he is distracted by the appearance of the golem.

Bosk waits for Restlin to check the various objects for auras, including the axe and sword he disarmed form the taurs, as he grabs the totem bag off of the other cleric. Instantly he feels a familial bond with the bones inside and confusion washes over him. Relics in a totem bag or only of use if the wearer single handedly defeated the opponent...this half-orc...he had assumed the cleric was a servant...but all signs indicate that this miserable excuse of a corpse was the one...

The clerics eyes turn gray as the focus on the ethereal, searching for the soul of his enemy and wondering what will happen if he thrusts his ghost touch blade through it. Who are you, and how did you come by these bones?

The flood of emotions is overwhelming. Justice. Vengeance. They are finally his. All that he strove so long for. Today he will make a necklace out of the orc's appendages the he can lay upon his mother's grave. Yet, in the back of his mind the cleric half hopes this pathetic half-orc was not the one that killed his mother. After having been in the revenge business so long, now that it's over, he does not know what to do with the rest of his life. With ever passing moment the urge to resurrect the orc just to kill him again rises, but at the same time he feels a calming peace he has never felt before.

The conflicting emotions tear at his very soul and he realizes how much of his life he gave up in this endeavor, and that he would gladly do it again. As the orc's soul moves on he can feel his humanity leaving him. His spirit being torn in two as he teeters on the verge a precipice from which he can never return...(Assuming this was the person the killed Bosk's mother, once he takes his last level of Avenger his creature type will change to that of Outsider. RPing that transition.)

ooc: Actions and descriptions:
Sense Spirit (SU): The grim can sense the direction and distance to any disembodied spirit or soul in long range (400 ft. + 40 ft./level), even through material objects.
Question Spirit (SU): The grim can speak with any spirit, ghost, or incorporeal creature as if under the affect of a Tongues spell. The being cannot lie to the grim, although it is not forced to answer.

ooc2: If you are going to require Bosk to kill him on his own let me know, and I will gladly ask Sesha to resurrect him and dispatch him once again or attempt to destroy his spirit.

Well, that was a little more excitement than I was planning for tonight, and to think it started off so fun. I wonder what these honorless pond scum attacked us for... actually, that's not fair. Pond scum is a very important part of the ecosystem, whereas the Wold would be much better if cowardly filth like this didn't exist.

Questioning would have to wait. Bosk looked more angry and upset than Tink had ever seen him before. It wasn't just the rage and adrenaline from battle. Something was seriously bothering him.
