Aexana sends her water elemental forward into the cave. The creature disapears beneath the water as it heads in.

The rest of the group heals up, and help awake Magana. Terser suggests moving into the cave to hopefully meet up with the others.

Back in the flooded cave.

Zeoll recasts his invisibility, and activates his true strike.

Spire sends for a magic missle, which as always hits home on the creature.His celestial electric eel comes close, but doesn't get a taste of the tendril monster.

Jozhur is still tangled, and unable to get loose. Again the teeth find their mark(5 DMg to Jozhur.)

Zeoll shouts at the monster in Aquan: "What will you do when your god is dead?" (He tries to sense if the monster understood his taunt.)

Then the old liontaur uses his laughing touch. With the true strike, he hits Touch AC 30. There is no save, and the monster can only take a move action as it is laughing for the next round.

(Note: his Nemesis Insight spell may also give Zeoll a +1 to hit.)

Then he looks around and backs up five feet. Perception 23

Aexana uses her last spell to further heal their battle tanks... she'll just make sure to stay out of trouble once they go deeper into the cave. With no healing potions on her and no more healing spells this is going to be a tricky endeavour...

Healing Magana for another 12 HP...

Before they go foreward deeper into the cave Aexana will cast (or prepare) a couple of spells on her friends...

Magana the Barbarian will get Barkskin cast on her... it will raise her AC by 3 for 60 minutes

On Coerator the Monk she will cast Owl's Wisdom. It should increase his senses and make him harder to hit in the same time. (it will last only 6 minutes, so Aexana will cast this at the very last moment before entering whatever cave they will be exploring). She will remain close to Coer and the moment danger is spotted she'll cast the spell...

Aex keeps her Cat's Grace spell available to help any combatant dodge more blows...

Sam silently observes the group and their actions as they prepare to enter the cave. Aexana's spells peak his interest.

He thinks to himself,"She seems to have little interest in helping Terser. He did a bulk of the work, per usual. I guess we just met and are possibly caught in subtle habits."

His attention turns to Terser. He nods at the dwarf and thinks,"Maybe she's just scared of him. He is kind of intimidating... Oh well. I guess I'll have to help him along.

Sam addresses Terser,"I know it's not your style, but take it easy when we get in there. I can't heal you, but I can turn you invisible here and there. Just be sure you and I don't end up owing Gargul at the end of this."

The bard is hesitantly ready to enter the cave. He stays at Terser's side who is most likely 2nd in line or taking up the rear-gaurd.

Between Jozhur's blade, Spire's spell and Zeoll's touch the tendril creature had enough. Spire knows the creature is an outsider, an evil creature with aquatic roots.(Obviously).

The tendrils loosen as the creature dies, floating up to the surface with the other dead one.

Back outside, Coer leads the group into the cave and is immediately hit with the stench of low tide. Inside the cave is pitch black, no light or darkvision means you are blind. Water rises anywhere between 6 inches and 2 feet, sometimes getting inside your boots. The bottom of the cave is sandy, and constantly under water.

Aex benefits from her Elemental shape and has Darkvision 60ft... since she also flies, she won't splatter either. But there's one painful detail... a single hit will get her unconscious. So scouting ahead wasn't exactly what she had in mind but she's willing to do whatever is needed.

Aex wonders what Sam's thinking about her spellcasting... however she fails ti understand why (sense motive 10)

If Aex is appointed the scout, she casts the Cat's Grace spell on herself. Increasing her Dex by 4 for 6 minutes. This will improve her stealth skills and will also make her harder to hit...

What must be done must be done... Aex moves deeper into the cave. She flies close to the ceiling, making sure she does not touch it. The elemental flight is perfect and with hardly any noise - perhaps a little breeze can be felt. She just hopes she will spot anything dangerous well up front...

Jozhur pulls himself out of the water and continues into the cave, making sure the others are not far behind him. If the cave is dark, he lights a torch, though that will ruin any chance of stealth.

Magana, Coer, Terser, Sam and Aexana move into the cave. Once the light spells are cast,the inside becomes more visible. To the groups left about 15' into the cave is a thin tunnel while in front of the group the cavern widens a bit, the far end of the room out of the distance of the light spells. Everyone is on guard as a form comes throught he water, but are quickly relieved to see it is Aexans's water elemental.
A bubbly sound comes forth, and those who speak aquan understand Highlight to display spoiler: { "Three creatures in the water, two like you and one a half breed. Something also was on the top of the room.}

In the flooded room, after killing the tendril creatures and breaking the surface it require a bit of steep climbing to get out of the deep water area and onto the sandy shelf to the south without falling back into the water you're trying to exit. The light spells light up the deep water room.
A terrible, high-pitched cackling rises from the depths, all but drowning out the crashing tide. Slithering and flopping across the cavern's ceiling 15' above you appears a repulsive mass of bulging flesh, wide and red-veined eyes, and gaping mouths.

As if the look of creature wasn't enough a wad of spittle comes forth from its mouth, missing Zeoll.

The old liontaur looks up and tries to figure out what it is he is seeing. Know Nature 24, Know Planes 27, Know Arcana 13.

Zeoll shouts a Command at the thing in Aquan: Flee! The will save DC against the spell is a 19. He moves so that he is not directly underneath it.

Without waiting to see what his allies are doing, Spire lobs an arrow of acid at the creature before retreating as far as he can without incurring any attacks. He attempts to determine what this creature may be, based on what they just faced underwater.

Too bad Aexana doesn't understand her own summoned water elemental... (mental note to self to take care of that).

"What vile thing is this?" Jozhur doesn't really expect an answer to the question, for no one could possibly know.

He sheathes his sword and gets asuch distance from the monster as he can. He tries to space himself from the others slightly, if possible. As he moves, he drops his torch in a dry spot (if possible) and draws his longbow.

Zeoll's spell seems not to effect the creature. More pressing is the fact this creature is unknown to him. (Doesn't fit under any of those catagories). Luckily for him the creature is having a hard time getting the old Liontaur in his sights, as his spittle misses again.

Spire's Acid Arrow strikes true, slamming into the creature.

Jozhur sets his torch down while pondering what this is. He moves to separate himself by enough room to draw his bow.

In the entry cave, the group stands not knowing what the elemental just said to them. Coer decides if the creature was unscathed it should be the good way to go. Moving deeper in, the cavernous chamber has blackened walls, suggesting in the dim light that it goes on forever. What at first appears to be some great beast rearing from the darkness, a serpent of sharp angles and hideous spines, swiftly reveals itself to be a large idol standing near the far side of the cave. (The water in this area is about ankle-deep on a human...)
At this point, a commotion can be heard echoing off the walls of the cave, as if something is happening deeper in the cave system.

Sam stumble in to the "deep" water as his dancing lights catch the visage of the statue. He renews the spell and makes the lights circle around the form. Grotesque shadows are created on the walls. When the commotion is heard, Sam looks to the others and says,"It could be the others! They might be in danger!"

To be safe, Sam starts humming an inspiring tune. (inspire courage +2 started)

Aex agrees with Sam... it could be the others! And from the commotion she hears they might be entangled with another one of those creatures they met earlier!!

So the Gnome decides to use another sacrifice another Breath Water spell to Cast Summon Nature's Ally III. Luck's with her this time as once the spell will be completed 3 Air Elementals will join her!

Zeoll hides behind his massive shield doing a good job at protecting himself.

Jozhur's arrow is true, and strikes the creature in it's massive, bulging, body.

Spire shouts to Zeoll to get back before letting loose with another Acid Arrow. Perhaps it is the miniscule amount of time it took him to yell, but his second arrow doesn't land.

The creature cannot see Zeoll enough behind the shield, so it spits a wad of spittle at Spire catching him in the face. (1 DMG, DC18 Fort Save or Blinded for 3 Rounds.)

In the cavern with the statue...

Sam inspires his friends and party members while hustling forward.

Aexana calls forward and luckily gets another elemental, this time of the air variety. Hopefully she can understand this one.

Coer, Magana, and Terser charge forward through the water which gets as deep as the knees. The group passes the evil looking statue, and can see the cavern turning in a northern direction a bit.

Note: In the cavern with the water, it is treated as difficult terrain and therefore costs 1/2 movement.

Zeoll casts a True Strike spell and takes out a vial of alchemical fire.

Spire, much to his own surprise, manages to fight off the burning sensation in his eyes as he scrapes the spittle from his vision. As quickly as he can, Spire casts Glitterdust in an attempt to blind the creature.

Still in Air Elemental shape herself Aexana is flanked by another 3 small Air Elementals as soon as her spell is finished. (mind you, with the Augment Summonning each Elemental has a +4 CON and +4STR)
Being an elemental now she can freely communicate with her summoned siblings.

"Let's go! Fly forward, find our friends and attack whatever it is that is threatening them!!"

Upon request, the 3 Air Elementals fly forward at top speed (60ft). Air Elementals have excellent flying skills and are adept in Flyby attacks so the plan is to stop ±30 ft from whatever is out there in order to perform a fly by attack next round. The elementals will spread around the creature so who ever attacks it will benefit from flanking bonus.

Aexana herself is still in bad shape and in no position to take an active part in close combat... with some luck, she can once again stay out of reach from the creature....

Aex casts Produce Flame... in her Air Elemental hands a Flame appears. Then she moves forward with the rest of the group. Should an enemy show up within 120ft she will hurl the flame at it!

Zeoll casts True Strike while pulling out an alchemical bag. The plan is obvious.

Spire luckily is unaffected by the blindness from the spittle, he returns with a Glitterdust spell. It is obvious the spell worked as the creatures many heads look about in every direction.

Jozhur fires his bow, but misses to the side.

Probably due to the blindess, the creatures spittle misses Spire.

Magana and Coer run full speed, their bigger size making it easier to move through the water, After the bend the come to a little beach, but more importantly they come across their friends fighting a gross, bulging ball of flesh and heads.

Aexana flies forward, sending her Air Elementals ahead to stop away from the creature. She gets close enough to cast her spell, but the flame misses the creature.

Terser takes the methodical approach, and moves forward through the flooded cavern.

Sam continues forward as well, humming his inspire courage tune.

Using the rules for grenade like missiles and splash damage, Zeoll rolls a three on the requisite d8 (NOT falling short, thank goodness!). Since it is at least two-three range increments away, maybe more, the chemical fire splashes ineffectually against the ceiling ... if the DM so rules!

Spire bows his head and begins chanting a spell now that his other allies are beginning to show up in the cavern, much to his relief. He throws his arms to the ceiling and an explosion of white thread occurs around the creature, tying it in place on the ceiling.

Sam stops walking towards the fight at the mention of the statue. With his lights mostly hovering over the battle, the bard can barely make out the form of the grotesque and impressive statue. He continues humming as he makes his way towards the form. Time permitting he gets his nose right up to it for a closer look/feel.

As a group combined, with attacks from every which way, they tear into the creature. Attacks from magic, bow, even elementals. The creature doesn't have a chance to drop from the ceiling elegantly. Instead the dead, bloated body falls to the water below with a sickening thud as the waters consumes the body.

Sam, moves back into the statue corridor, and gets an upclose look at the statue. It doesn't move, doesn't attack or do anything other then act as a normal statue. It does however unsettle Sam, as it just looks like it is evil. The way the dancing lights flicker off the creature, makes it appear to move but it never really does.

Aex knows some of the group that went through the under water tunnel are able to speak Auran so she adresses them: "Good to see you again friends!! Let's get this over with... that ugly looking statue is over there..."

The Gnome in Air-Elemental shape looks pretty battered but with no imminent danger (nothing visible anyhow) there's perhaps no dire need to call in some healing. Better save that for the true warriors.

The next flame already is in Aex's hand and it illuminates the cavern as well.
She directs the three Air Elementals (they have about 4 rounds left in this plane) to fly towards the ugly statue and do some fly by's as well without actually attacking... just mere provoking...

She herself remains at +100ft from it.

Spire lets his voice be heard when he lets everyone know how he wants off the island.

Zeoll cannot figure out what kind of creature the idol represents. He encounters no footprints, and his scroll is provides the presence of evil, but not exactly on the statue.

Terser recalls the group passing a side tunnel on their way in, and also remembers the flooded room the other group came in continued north bending out of sight.

Aexana has her elementals work to the last minute as she sends them back and forth past the statue. At no time does it react.

Sam searches for hidden passages but doesn't come up with any.

Coer, like Spire, is out of patience.

Jozhur looks for switches while trying to identify the creature. He cannot figure out what it is, and doesn't find any switches.

By now here Air Elementals are no longer here. She still has the flame in her hand but the minute she would hold her hand under water it will extinguish.

"Just for starters... why don't you big ones tie a rope around that ugly statue and tear it down? Who knows... we might provoke something or someone..." Aexana chuckles.

But besides that... the little Gnome Druid is clueless how to proceed or where to go...

Coer and Jozhur do as the others asked and between them the statue topples. Waves slap at the sides of the cave when the heavy rock lands in the water. After a few moments, the waves stop, the echo stops, nothing moves in the cave.
With threeoptions of where to go.( Your Dm is a putz and misread the map, by the little dry spot where you fought the ceiling creature there is a ramp heading up to another opening.)

Coer doesn't want to leave any openings behind him and heads back to the first opening. Inside the walls, the floor, and the ceiling of this cave are coated in a reflective sheen, as though some great slug had left a trail across them. Even stranger is the stone itself. While every other surface in these caverns appears to be water-carved stone, these surfaces boast strange patterns, unusually marred features, and even twisted curves and protrusions. It less resembles stone, and more a hollow in a large lump of clay, formed into random patterns by a child's fingers. Coer can see the pattern continues all the way to where the ceiling creature was. The water here seems to go up to mid-shins on a human...

Aexana shivers at the disturbing sight of the cavern ahead... what foul creature lives here!?! In Air Elemental shape she's happy she doesn not have to touch the water nor the walls...

Slowly Aex-Air follows with the group... she makes no noise at all as she goes but her friends do make an awful lot of it as they wade through the water. Whatever awaits them at the end of this tunnel if it didn't hear that statue crashing down it now certainly knows they are coming.

Studying the worn, shiny ceiling in the little offshoot cave, you can come to the conclusion that the creature your killed above the flooded room lived in this room. Moving along the ceiling it obviously worn down the ceiling.

At the back of this little cave is another opening leading to another chamber....

You have three options before you.... the opening in this small cave, the ramp up to a larger cave opening, or the flooded room that Spire,Zeoll and Jozhur came up in continued in a northern direction.

Zeoll looks around and sees that most of his friends are injured! He uses the opportunity to use three of his channels for the day. He offers 15 hp of curing to EVERYBODY!

He also refreshes his cantrips and checks on his spells (see sanity info below).

Then Zeoll wants to see what's up that ramp and around that corner. He invites any interested people to follow him. He keeps his tower shield up and ready for total cover. That should keep him safe from physical attacks. He hopes.

Ooc: Jozhur is the only one were waiting for a direction, but he can indicate in his post.

In the small chamber Coerator, Magana, Terser and Sam make their way to back end of the cave. Zeoll, Spire and Aexana move up the ramp hidden behind Zeoll's shield.

This asymmetrical cavern overlooks another, much larger chamber below. In that distant chamber, you can see a sequence of monstrous idols, a great basalt altar much like that beneath the church, and a shallow lagoon, roughly 2 feet deep, that runs beneath the distant wall. A moderate slope leads down from your level to the grotto below.
From here, you can see an older woman, clad in black robes, moving around behind the altar.

The woman looks to Zeoll and waves her hand, not menacingly, but more of a brush off movement. She doesn't say anything as she starts moving towards the lagoon heading behind one of the statues so not to take any arrows from Spire or Jozhur. Spire readies his bow, while Jozhur has an arrow knocked and ready to fly.

The group to the south can see the whole situation unfolding. They wait to see how it unfolds as well.

Zeoll, being the only one who moves forward, heads down to the slope. As soon as his foot lands on the grade change it passes through the edge, and he tumbles forward disappearing into the illusionary ramp. Zeoll falls about 10 feet, to the rocky ground below.(3 DMG)

Aexana sees Zeoll sink down the slope on what appears to have been an illusion. She continues to fly near zeoll as he slowly closes in on the woman. This chamber of horrors becomes much clearer as you progress inward. The two smaller idols are statues of the fish-men you've encountered, and their dark stone forms drip with a thin sheen of oily water. The three larger images are great serpents, emerging from the earth or the water, and foul ichor oozes from their needlelike teeth. The basalt idol upon the altar here (slightly larger than that beneath the church) boasts a rising serpent as well, turned toward the right instead of to the left. It has the elongated maw of the serpents depicted in the unholy symbols and the idol in the Cult's Secret Shrine, and it radiates intense cold. The entire chamber smells of rotting fish.

The woman ignores the calls to her and continues through the shallow water behind one of the statues. Aexan flies out over the water. (Are you flying behind the statue?)

Aexana moves so that she can indeed see behind the statues to get a visual on the old woman. She hovers close to the ceiling and won't wander too far from her friends. As the woman is wading through the water Aex worries that some of her spells that involve fire won't have much effect. (while she flies she does not come too close to either of the statues.)

So far, the druid doesn't make any aggressive moves yet...

Spire thinks diplomacy is at an end, waiting with his bow for this woman to do something.

Zeoll casts calm emotions on the woman, it seems to have no effect on her as she still is huddled behind the statue.

Aexana hovers close to the ceiling, hovering over the woman. She avoids the statues easily. The woman looks up every once in a while, her face worn and sad. She quickly turns his face back, looking into her knees, her body sobbing up and down every couple of seconds.

Terser moves to cut her off, but the woman had a head start and makes it into the water. He stops short of entering himself. (Terser Will Save please)

Sam makes his way in, staying out of site to the woman.

Coer gets closer into the room himself, the captain always ready for battle.

Jozhur readies his bow, standing by his friend Spire. His arrow is pulled tight, ready for her to make an offensive threat,

Magana hops down herself ready to fight..... and that is when she hears it. Sweet, sweet girl.... do me a favor and kill the old fool.... kill them all. She doesn't remember moving, or swinging. Her rage activates, as she swings her flail into Zeoll. The flail crushes into the liontaur with deadly accuracy(Crit. confirmerd) ([/b]25 DMG[b]. Her second attack misses, as does her horn attack.

Magana growls in satisfaction at finally getting to hit something. That it is the old gasbag, Zeoll, is an added bonus! Realizing she is surrounded by enemies and must finish off this one quickly to reduce the odds, she draws upon her rage to make sure he can't escape.

OOC: if Zeoll tries to withdraw, she follows:
No Escape (Ex): The barbarian can move up to double her normal speed as an immediate action but she can only use this ability when an adjacent foe uses a withdraw action to move away from her. Spire sighs under his breath, dropping the arrow and casting Protection From Evil. He holds the charged spell in his hand while running towards the enranged Barbarian, leaping down and attempting to touch the minotaur on the back. At first, he misses wildly, flying over the barbarian, but manages to grab one of the straps of her armor and swing back around, striking her in the back before landing.

Knowing something is going on, Terser lets his battle instincts take over, helping him to shake whatever mental intrusion is trying to affect him. Will save 29 (assuming it's a spell effect) 2 base +1 resistance + 2 spells +4 rage +2 bard song The cowering woman doesn't seem to be casting any spells, so what could be the source?

She doesn't seem to be doing anything! Where is the compulsion over Magana coming from?
Thinking there must be some other source of the magic, Terser attempts to knock over the statue in front of him, since everyone wanted to destroy them before.

With the statue blocking her sight towards her friends Aex hears one of them roar and attack someone...
As the woman looks up at her now and then Aexana gets pretty nervous but somehow she manages to maintain her wits (Will Save 25 - let's just hope that's sufficient).

Aex doesn't understand yet how it is that this woman manages to mind control so many creatures but it's obvious that she's preparing something in the water...

Time for a different approach... though Aex's health made her plan to stay somewhere in the rear guard she's suddenly and unwanted very close to the elderly woman... So Aex-Air creates a Whirlwind!! The Whirlwind is 5ft wide at the bottom and reach up from 10 to 20ft depending on the ceiling height in this cave... Once in Whirlwind shape Aex moves on top of the old woman to L3! (not provoking any AoO's while being a whirlwind) Reflex save DC14 or old lady takes 4Hp damage
The old woman is now trapped in the Whirlwind and must succeed on a DC15+spell level concentration check to cast a spell and she takes --4 Dex and --2 on attack rolls.

Furthermore, the Whirlwind base touches the water and thus also creates a swirling cloud of water centered on the woman. The cloud obscures all vision, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. Creatures 5 feet away have concealment, while those farther away have total concealment. The old woman must succeed on a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) to cast a spell.

Aex knows she won't be able to hold this for long but hopefully long enough to have her friends take her down...

Magana's flail crashes into Zeoll's shield twice. Denting spots, where the ball hits. (Which edge are you protecting with your shield.)

Spire leaps forward to help his friend, but she cannot overcome the enslavement.

Coerator jumps forward, and trips his minotaur friend to protect the group.

Zeoll relies on his knowledge of spellcraft and arcana, but he cannot figure out what it is.

Sam continues to Inspire courage, and his friends need it.

Jozhur hides amongst the rocky walls, and keeps his bow pointed at the statues, ready incase one of them comes to life. (Need a Will Save Dc 18)

Terser runs forward, grabbing at the base of one of the statues. His muscles flex, and strain, but finally he topples the thing into the soft sand. Terser looks to the water after toppling the statue Highlight to display spoiler: { The water appears deeper then the two feet it looked like from the top of the ramp}

Aexana transforms into a wirlwind, and hovers over the old woman. She looks up to you scared, as she holds onto her robe. Her clothes and hair blow around from the strong winds, and she is shaking back and forth. The water starts to draw up into the wirldwind, and at this point she notices two things, Highlight to display spoiler: {the water is deeper then the two feet it appeared and the water feels odder to Air-Aexana... it feels thicker and as if something else is in it. (Need a DC 22 Fort Save). }

Still in whirlwind shape Aex senses there's something wrong with the water... It feels strange... thicker perhaps... As if something else is in it! (Fort Save 22... Spire quickly makes hid way back up to his friend Jozhur, when he sees Jozhur's face he knows something came over the man.

"I heard someone say to kill my friends." He says with a blank look.

Magana quickly gets back to her feet and quickly plants Coerator into the sand with a trip of her own.

Zeoll moves back to get ready with some healing.
From his vantage point, he can see the slime in the water but he knows only that it isn't natural.

Terser warns the others that the water Is deeper then it appears.

Sam casts his hold person on the spell, but by the way she cranes her neck to look at Aexana he can tell it didn't take effect.

Aexana feels the thicker water become of her whirlwind, but no other effects bother her. The whirlwind begins to pick the woman up all the while buffeting her. She looks up to Aexana "please help me" she says in a low voice. "Please"

Aex-Whirlind sees the woman look up at her and hears her soft cries for help... Aex remembers the sad looks upon the priestess earlier... would she also have been posessed by someone or something?!? Was she also a victem... is this old woman also a victime perhaps??!! But then... where's the true evil around here?

Hoping the old woman understands Auran Aex-whirlwind addresses her: "What Evil resides here? We'll help you... but you need to tell us where the evil comes from!! Hurry..."

Meanwhile, Aex-whirlwind moves on land, now no longer taking water with her but dirt instead. This is the whirlwind's last turn. After this round it dies down and Aexana turns to her Air Elemental shape again.

Zeoll calls down the healing, and gives everyone back 6hp.

Terser is a one man destruction crew as he grapples, and topples another statue.

Spire casts Detect Magic, and auras of magic show on the water itself.

Aexana begins pulling the woman to the safety of shore. She hears the woman for help, but then he voice sounds blocked as if something is blocking her throat. When Aexana looks down, a crab is crawling from the woman's mouth before falling into the whirlwind. And just like that the woman disapears.
The cave is all of a sudden quiet, not even the soft ripple of the tide is heard. And then a nightmare of horrendous proportions rises from the rippling surface--a reflection of the ancient, primal evil of Billoopl himself! Tendrils lash outward in all directions as though seeking prey of their own volition. Behind them, six inhuman
eyes gleam red in the gloom, and enormous gills pulse in time to the beating of some inhuman heart. From the beast, a slick of slime spreads out across the water...
The creature is huge, more then 15 feet across.. its tentacles are as long as its body. Four of the shorter tentacles shoot forward at Aexana, two of them find their mark and smash into her. (28 dmg) Her vision goes black as she falls to the soft sand below. (Need two fort saves vs Dc 22).

The other four tendrils fly forward at Terser, again two reach their mark. (16 dmg, and I need two Dc 22 Fort Saves).

As it view the creature, its as if your mind is playing tricks on you, but it appears to be blurred around the edges.

Wanting to protect the party the only way he can, Sam fires a "glitterdust" spell at the creatures face. (DC=18 vs reflex or be blinded for 6 rounds. Recheck reflex each round to save)

Sam's hold person does the job, and secures the raging Taur for this round.

Sam casts his next spell and forms a cloud of dust, that cascades down on the creature. If the spell took effect, Sam isn't aware. He also continues to inspire courage to his friends in a trying time.

Spire continues his detect magic, and besides the overwhelming illusion magic coming from the water, the altar radiates overwhelming illusion, necromancy, and transmutation.

Coer moves back, and heaves a javelin. The weapon stabs into the creatures side, and sticks.

Jozhur fires off three arrows. Two of them reach their mark and pierce into the side of the creature.

Terser slashes back at the tentacles, and manages to cut a deep gash in one.

Aexana crumbles to the ground, her form does not revert.

Zeoll holds back, pondering his next move. (You can still get your action in next round, just do both)

As Aexana crumbles, the creature sees the most dangerous target in front of it. Terser left a gash on the tentacle, and the creature actually looked wounded. All eight tentacles swing at the man. Four of them connect, 3 of the smaller, and one of the larger. (48 damage, and four DC 22 Fort saves).

This round: Moves to be 20 ft away, throws it at the monster. He hits touch ac23 for 4 hp fire damage this round.

It certainly doesn't feel like an illusion, Sam... He is severaly battered by the tentacles, though his natural resilience prevents the ill effects of the noxious tentacles.

Despite his disorientation, Terser fights back with a mighty blow before withdrawing enough to gulp down a potion to continue the fight.
(hero point attack - nat 20, 29 to confirm, rolled the wrong damage dice (removed) for 30 damage)
standard to withdraw 30 feet, draw potion while moving, drink as move action for 4)

ooc to DM: guessing the monster has reach so I'm not getting AOOs, correct?

Magana strains, but is still under Sam's hold person spell. Her body struggles, but at the end she is still stuck. (OOC: No other saves for the enslavement)

Spire shoots off another arrow, but watches as it misses.

Zeoll moves forward, and under the power of his True Strike throws an alchemist fire at the creature which erupts on its body. If the fire is affecting the creature, it shows now signs. But a gigantic aquatic demon bug isn't one to show emotion.

Jozhur leaps forward with his attack, stopping short of the water, and close enough to attack one of the tentacles on Terser. His beautiful leap does not help though, and his attack is off. (I stopped you at the waters edge.)

Coerator heaves another Javelin, dismayed that it misses.

Terser heaves with all his might with a deadly attack that would fell most men, but for some reason it doesn't seem to connect as much with this creature. The attack still leaves another huge gash in the tentacle. He has the self preservation to move away from the attacks. (Immune to criticals)

Aexana dreams of being off this devil island once and for all.

Sam questions aloud if anything is real going on.

With the obvious target of Terser slipping away the creature does its best to answer Sam. Four of the longer tentacles strike forward at the Bard. All four make contact crushing the bard(48 DMG, sorry).

The four shorter tentacles hit Jozhur, also crushing him, (47 DMG, sorry)

Zeoll's fire keeps burning, for another 2 fire damage.

Zeoll shouts at it a Command spell in Aquan: APPROACH!

Zeoll's roll in case it has spell resistance is a 6! Let's hope it has no spell resistance! :-) The will save DC is 20.

If it works, Zeoll moves back 40 ft up the ramp onto dry ground. If he can lure it out of that strange water, maybe it will be weaker.

Not sure what HP totals are after the latest bout - if someone is dead dead, Spire won't bother with them, he'll just go to whoever needs stabilizing. If more than one character is unconscious, then he'll go to whoever is nearest

Just hope that hideous thing doesn't trample her!

(@ DM - not sure if I ever needed to mention that Gnomes have a +2 saving vs Illusions. I didn't fail any save but I don't know if it would have helped realising this perhaps wasn't real?)

Jozhur nearly collapses when the tentacles lash out at him. With seemingly no other options, he drops his bow to the ground, draws his sword, and does everything he can to drive it into the creature.
